The Reunion
"What can I help you with My lady?" William asked, backing himself against the door. "Really that's what you have to say? You evade my Hunters and I for four years after taking my virginity and that's all you have to say? No boasting or gloating? Gods, it's no wonder I like you" Artemis said in awe.
"Wha-what? I was running for my life, who would be arrogant about that?" William said confused, choosing to ignore the last part, figuring it to be a mistake. "Ha! You clearly haven't spent much time with men, they will boast about everything they possibly can, even when their lives are on the line. Well most do anyways" Artemis said looking at him, 'Why does she have that look in her eyes?' William thought.
"Well, I - um, I-I, well - I guess you're right about that" He managed to stutter out, his brain unable to flow coherently with the look she was giving him. Artemis smirked seeing what she was doing to him. Then she cocked back her fist and ran it right into his cheek. "That's for running away and staying away!" She said angrily. "Wha-what do you mean? I ran to save my life, I was too young to die!" He said able to create a sentence now that he wasn't looking at her.
"I had no intention of hurting you! You did everything on that mountain in my best interest! The earthquake to try and stop the cyclops, refusing to take part, offering to stop after Atlas had left, that giant punch after you were free, retaking the sky and most definitely supporting me through all of their attacks. Without you, I would most likely still but under the sky and the Titan's very well may have won. Most importantly if you hadn't been there I would still be a virgin, and I hold that against you. I have been happier these last four years than I have been for as long as I can remember. It also allows me to do this."
William's eyes went wide as he listened to the goddess explain herself. They widened further when she leaned in to kiss him, she put her hands on his face and pulled his head down while she stood on her tip-toes. Her lips met his and all the fear and exhaustion left his body. He immediately melted into the kiss and put his hands around her waist and pulled her tight against him, as he kissed her back.
They pulled back from each other, faces flushed red and gold respectively. Foreheads leaning on each other as they soaked in the moment and caught their breath. "I've been trying to catch you for four years just to do that" Artemis said. "I-I definitely would have let you catch me if I knew this is what awaited me instead of death" William smiled, his arms still wrapped around her waist and hers around his neck. They were leaning in for another kiss when the elevator dinged and opened up to Olympus.
The two quickly pulled apart and turned to look at the bustling city of the gods. "Wow" William said, taking in the beauty of the city. "Beautiful isn't it? I can finally see that now" the goddess said turning to smile at him, only to find him already looking. "Not as beautiful as you" He admitted truthfully. Artemis blushed again and smacked him lightly on the chest. "Come on you, we're almost late for the awards ceremony" Artemis said pulling on his hand and leading him out into the city.
"The awards ceremony? You led me into that elevator on purpose didn't you? I had no chance of escape" "No you did not" Artemis replied cheerily giving him a big smile, at which he couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Why did you wait so long then?" He asked. "Well you did a pretty good job the first four days, then you started getting tired, at that point I knew when the ceremony would be and planned accordingly" She said matter-of-factly.
William just smiled back, having nothing to say, knowing he had been outclassed by the brilliant goddess. "So what exactly happened? Why is there a rewards ceremony? I saw the big dirt lady at the end there but I have no idea about anything else. My contact on Olympus went silent for a bunch of months so I have been out of the loop" William asked. "What? Who's your contact?" Artemis questioned, narrowing her eyes. "I can't answer that, what if I need to run away again som-"
"Listen here you little punk, you will not be running away again, I finally caught you so now you're mine and I expect you to stay that way and if I have to catch you again, our reunion will not be nearly as hot" Artemis threatened him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him down to her level. "Ye-yes ma'am" William got out, surprised at the sudden change in mood. "Good" she said then gave him a peck on the lips before letting go of his shirt and continuing her way to giant palace at the top of the mountain.
"You know I've really tried to stay away from mountains ever since, the last time I was at the top of one I met you" William said as he caught back up to Artemis. "I suppose there were many better ways for us to meet, but I don't regret it at all. Like I said I've been way happier, and chasing you around has been a great training exercise for my Hunters. Plus I can see that it has done wonders for you too" Artemis said putting a hand on his muscled arm, making William blush.
"So how did you change your hair and eye colour? I won't lie, I like them more than the other colours" Artemis admitted. "I didn't have to change anything, my hair was just dirty and once I was no longer imprisoned my eyes lightened back up" "Well I must admit they are incredibly beautiful" Artemis said trying not to get lost in his caribbean waves. "Well I would have to say that yours are far more beautiful" "We can argue about that later, right now we have a meeting to attend" Artemis said, forcing herself to look away from his eyes, as they came up on the giant doors to the throne room.
"It's about time you've joined us daughter" Zeus' voice boomed irritated at having to wait for her to show up before they could begin. "Sorry father I lost track of time" Artemis said truthfully. William followed directly behind his goddess as the crowd parted for her. "Lost track of time doing what? And who is it that you have brought with you?" Zeus questioned, which of course shifted everyone's attention away from the rarely seen, stunning form of the goddess of the moon towards the man standing behind her.
"Well father both of those questions have the same answer -" "William!" Artemis was interrupted by another female voice suddenly recognizing who was standing behind the goddess of the moon. William couldn't help but smile as he traced the voice to a face.
