New Friends
William had a giant smile on his face as they walked out of the throne room. His woman on his arm and his brother rambling about his friends and what they were going to do at camp. They exited the giant doors and William was wowed by the view, he could see the whole city in front of him, the streets filled with people, doing basically whatever they wanted.
He followed closely behind Annabeth as Percy led them through the crowd towards his friends. His hand intertwined with Artemis' to make sure they didn't lose each other. It took them ten minutes of crowd walking to find Percy's friends. "Yo Perce, over here!" They heard to their left and Percy quickly turned them in that direction. His friends had grabbed a pavilion off the side of the street and were hanging out there. "Hey guys! This is William, my new brother" Percy said excitedly. Then Artemis stepped out from behind William, "Oh, and his um, girlfriend Artemis" Percy added not sure how to term the two of them. Two bright blushes spread across their faces.
Everyone in the pavilion just stared at the two of them, not quite understanding what they were seeing. "Nice job William!" A small elfish guy said loudly, breaking the silence, as William blushed even harder, everyone laughed at the elf before returning to their original volume. They cleared space at the picnic table for the four of them and Percy introduced everybody. 'He sure had a lot of friends, I don't think I've ever even talked to this many different people in my whole life!' William thought.
The night went on as William listened to the demigods telling stories intently, keen on learning about their adventures. Artemis was content just leaning into William, his arm was wrapped around her her head on his shoulder. She was happy to see him smiling, she could tell that he was enjoying this moment. Every once in a while William would catch the girl with the kaleidoscope eyes, Piper, staring at him and Artemis with a smile.
The nymphs kept everyone's drinks full, flirting with all the guys except William, he wasn't disappointed just confused. "It's because of me" Artemis said softly at his side, "they respect me too much to make a move on you, they aren't too concerned with demigoddesses though" Artemis explained. William just smiled and nodded, laying his head on top of hers.
"Oh hey Thalia! Zoe" the blonde guy, Jason, said. At that Artemis' straightened, removing herself from William. She slowly turned around to find her two lead hunters standing behind her. "Hey Thals, Zoe" Percy said as he turned to look at the two, before Annabeth elbowed him and he realized the pavilion had gone silent at the entrance of the two huntresses. Percy leaned over to William, "Run" was all he said. William quickly shot up, heeding his brother's warning, but was stopped from running by Artemis' hand on his abs.
"Hello girls" Artemis said. "Enjoying yourself my lady?" Thalia said smirking. Zoe on the other hand did not look as enthused. "I guess we need to talk. Go gather the rest of the girls to my palace" Artemis said sending them away. She turned to Annabeth and Percy, "Do not let him out of your sight" the two demigods nodded. Then she turned to William, "no running away while I'm gone got it? I'll be back shortly" she gave a quick peck on the lips before turning and disappearing into the crowd.
"You're one lucky dude there William" Leo said, "how did you manage to land the goddess of man haters?" asking the question basically everybody a the table was wondering, but had been too afraid to ask with the goddess present. Leo had been elbowed by the girl beside him, who William realized looked a lot like Zoe, Calypso. "Well I was trapped on Mt Orthrys when she was forced to hold the sky. Then long story short, I was forced to, how would you say, um, ah, I was forced by Atlas to 'tap that'. Then I have been running away from the hunt for the last four years, thinking that she wanted to kill me for that" William explained briefly and apparently not well enough.
"She fell in love with you from one dicking down? Dam, you must be packing downstairs or blessed by a sex god" Leo said making all the guys that had migrated over to listen laugh. "You got that right" Annabeth muttered, none of the guys heard her since they were laughing at Leo but the girls did and immediately pressed her for details. "There was more to it than that but it's boring and gooey and not the type of story for a party more a girls night story" William explained trying to finish the conversation quickly, feeling uncomfortable with sharing the details of how they had met each other.
Percy noticed his brother's uncomfortableness and pushed the conversation to the fact that Artemis had probably fallen for him when he had taken the sky for her so she could fight Atlas. Everyone stared at him in shock not expecting that piece of information. "Actually he was under the sky when Artemis and I were captured. He held it for over a month before Artemis took it from him" Annabeth said leaving the girls conversation about William's penis size.
"What are you ladies talking about over there?" one of the guys asked seeing them all giggling and talking in hushed tones. All the ladies shot up not wanting to say what. William narrowed his eyes at Annabeth and she just looked back sheepishly. "We were um talking about, um, Leo's dick!" Calypso said, coming up with an excuse. Leo then sported a grin the rest of the night.
Some of the couple got up to dance as it was announced there would be a few slow songs in a row. Calypso and Leo, Jason and Piper, Frank and Hazel, Nico and Will, Clarisse and Chris, Katie and Travis and bunch of others leaving William, Annabeth and Percy. "You guys can go too" William said, "I already promised her I wouldn't go anywhere" "Are you sure? I'd rather not go on the run for four years" Percy teased. "Yeah, if it makes you more comfortable, just go right out front there, then you can still see me" Percy didn't say anything else as he grabbed Annabeth's hand and pulled her out into the street.
William watched as all of his new friends danced the night away, he was alone now, but he didn't mind, he was used to it. Just having them within a call's reach was enough for him. They all stayed on the dance floor long after the slow dances had stopped. William sat there soaking in the whole day. He had not been killed by the goddess of the moon, in fact he thought they may be dating now instead. He had come to Olympus, seen all the gods, almost gotten killed, found his dad, met his brother and found a bunch of people he hoped he could call his friends.
All he was missing at this point in the night was his goddess. "Care to dance mountain boy?" He was broken out of his thoughts by his angel appearing at his side, she was now in a tight silver dress that hugged all of her ample curves. "Mountain boy?" William asked as he got up from the table. "I know it wasn't great, I'll figure out a nickname for you eventually" she said as he stood in front of her. A blush flaring through her cheeks as she felt his eyes running over her perfect body.
"Do you like what you see?" She asked. "You bet I do. I take it the talk with the hunters went well, if you're coming back to me dressed like this" "Well it was interesting conversation but ultimately this ended up being my punishment, though I really don't understand it" Artemis explained as they walked hand in hand on to the dance floor just in time for another slow song. "But overall it went well, there were a few holdouts but otherwise most were okay with it. They already knew everything about the mountain and what you did for me so all I had to fill them in on was your part in taking my virginity."
"So I shouldn't fear for my life if they pass by then?" William asked. "Haha no you should be alright, I would watch out for pranks though. Especially since I told them they would be staying at camp a little longer so that you could spend time with your brother" Artemis said. "Really? You're the best!" He leaned down and placed his lips on hers. Earning some whistles from the crowd.
They finished out the song before Artemis told William to say good bye to Percy. Then they strolled along the streets of Olympus hand in hand. Happy to have finally found their person.
