Waste of Time
(With Mirana)
Mirana sighed as she entered the dungeons. Her sister was still pacing back and forth. She knew her sister was going to be difficult about this. For a week now she had paced in her cell, trying to figure out a way to escape and get her revenge.
"Good morning sister." She greeted Iracebeth.
"What do you want?" She asked with a sneer.
"We need to talk." She said.
"No, you need to let me out." She countered.
"I can't do that. You planned to kill one of my guests." She said.
"You stole my crown." Iracebeth hissed.
"No I didn't." She shook her head. "You lost it for wanting to cut off the heads of everyone that laughed at you that day."
"That is your fault!" She screamed.
"No it's not. Yes I lied abou-" She was cut off.
"IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU MY HEAD WOULDN'T BE THIS BIG AND I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN LAUGHED AT!" She screamed.
"I didn't make you run off that night. Yes I lied and yes you would have been punished but you ran off and you got injured." She said.
"I RAN OFF BECAUSE OF YOU!" She yelled.
"You blamed things on me as well and got me into trouble." She reminded her. "I always just took the punishment."
"You never gained a big head." She hissed.
"I never tried to cut the heads off people that laughed at me." She argued.
"No one ever laughed at you." She sneered.
"They have." She said.
"Stop lying!" She hissed.
"I'm not! I was laughed at for not riding a horse like a lady. I was-" Her sister cut her off.
"You were never laughed at for your body part." She sneered.
"I-"
"LET ME GO OR GO AWAY!" She screamed.
"Fine. I can see this was a waste of time." She sighed before leaving.
"I WILL GET YOU BACK FOR THIS AND TAKE BACK MY CROWN!" Iracebeth screamed.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked after she left the dungeons.
"No." She sighed.
"Let's get some tea." He said.
"Okay." She nodded, letting Harry lead her away.
Harry took her to the garden. Tea had been set up on one of the tables. She sat down and Harry served her some tea and gave her a lovely white cupcake. He then sat down and got himself some tea and a chocolate chip scone.
"Do you want to talk about it or do you want to talk about something else?" He asked her.
"I couldn't burden you with what happened." She sighed.
"It's not a burden. I'm okay if you want to tell me." He assured her.
"Are you really sure?" She bit her lips.
"I am." He confirmed.
"Alright." She then told him what happened.
"She sounds like a narcissist." He commented.
"A narcissist? What is that?" She asked.
"A narcissist is a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves. They believe the world revolves around them. No one has had it as bad as them nor can they take responsibility for their own actions." He said.
"That does sound like my sister." She sighed.
"I have dealt with my fair share and I hate to say this but she will probably never change or admit she was wrong." He said.
"I am starting to see that." She said, hating that it was this way. "Do… do you think it is my fault?" She asked.
"No. Siblings get each other into trouble all the time. Not many react the way your sister did." He said.
"That's true." She said.
"Don't let her get to you. That is what she wants." He said.
"I know." She sighed. "She wants me to feel guilty and let her out."
"Exactly. Then she'll want you to give her the crown. Well she already wants that but her plan is to have you hand it to her." He said.
"I won't be doing that. She already proved what a bad queen she is." Mirana said.
"Exactly. I hate to say this but she is a threat." He said.
"I know." She said.
"But that is not your fault." He could see she was thinking that.
"Bu-"
"There are no buts. She is the one in the wrong and that is not your fault." He said.
She smiled at him. "I know you are right but I can't help but think that."
"Understandable. I blame myself for a lot of things as well." He admitted.
"What do you think I should do with her?" She asked, not wanting to give up.
"I'm not sure but keep checking up on her and seeing what happens. Otherwise just keep her there so she isn't a danger to others or herself." He said.
"You're right." She said.
"Now let's cheer you up." He said.
"What?" She looked at him.
"You need cheering up. I was planning on practicing my magic and you did say you wanted to see it, correct?" He smiled.
"You are going to let me watch?" Mirana asked, excited.
"I am." He said.
"Yes!" She cheered.
"Come on. I warded that empty room you gave me." He said.
"Okay." She got up and followed him.
