Tooru awoke the next morning and quickly prepared for class, grabbing a small muffin for breakfast on his way out the door.
As he opened the door to class after arriving, he noticed Tsukimi-sensei giving him an unreadable look.
'I'll assume that means my duo will be arriving today.'
Tooru sat down in his lone seat at the back of the class, eager to know what Tsukimi-sensei's lesson will be today. People filled into the class, and eventually she began teaching.
As class went on, it was clear that today's lesson would be about fighting techniques. Tooru already knew most of these, so he didn't pay too much attention, opting to come up with some of his own in his notebook.
Tooru did notice that the silver-haired girl from yesterday kept stealing glances at him. If he remembered correctly, from yesterday's introductions, her name was "Julie", which didn't ring any bells.
As Tsukimi-sensei continued to teach, the door to the class was once again opened, even though all students were present. This caught everyone in the class's attention. Tooru was quite interested as well, as this may be his new duo.
A beautiful blonde-haired foreign girl with blue gemstone eyes was the one who entered, looking around for a moment before she was seemingly stunned after she locked eyes on Tooru.
He was even more astonished when the girl started walking towards him without hesitation and suddenly lifted his chin boldly.
"..."
"Hmm..." The girl flushed and made a satisfied expression. "As expected, you're the one."
However, this action caused all the girls and even some boys to become hostile toward this blonde-haired girl.
"Excuse me?" Tooru pulled her hand away while feeling speechless when this girl invaded his personal space.
The girl looked at her hand that was held by Tooru and held it up to her face. "I am sorry for being rude, but are you Tooru Kokonoe?"
"Yes, that's correct," Tooru said calmly.
The girl put on a confident smile, "I knew it. Your handsomeness is unmistakable." She reminisced on the picture given to her, and frankly, the picture did a poor job to contain his beauty since the real one was thousands of times more amazing!
"If you know me, you shouldn't have asked me, right?" Tooru said flatly.
"That's true." The girl chuckled and said, "Sorry for asking a stupid question."
"It's okay." he looked at the girl and asked, "So? Who are you? And didn't you realize that you had interrupted the class?"
Tooru then glanced at Tsukimi-sensei, who gave him a thumbs up since he could see how annoyed she was toward this girl. However, from how the professor was unable to say anything, Tooru got the impression that this girl is a rich woman or even someone who was connected to the Dawn Organization that ran the school.
"Oh, right. How rude of me." The girl then turned toward everyone and said, "I am Lilith Bristol. I have transferred here from England. I will allow you all the special privileges of addressing me by my first name."
Tooru quickly put two and two together. "Wait, you're the new transfer student?"
"Well yes! Is there something wrong with that, my dear Tooru?" Again, Lilith was at his side, taking his arm into her chest this time.
'How can this girl be so forward and bold?'
Tooru was becoming rather flustered at this, surprised at this new girl's enthusiasm for him and her bold actions. "
But then... you're not my duo, are you?" Tooru replied, still nervous.
"Yes, I would like to be your duo from now on, that's right!" she said, without an ounce of embarrassment.
"But Tsukimi-sensei, doesn't that mean we would share a room?!" I turned to the professor.
"Yes, you will still share a room" she said cluelessly.
After looking around at all the other student's abrupt conversations she then said "What, just because you're different genders you can't duo? Come on, of course you can."
"I can't wait for you Tooru..." Lilith said seductively in my ear, causing the class to erupt in surprise. It was mostly girls, since that's what the class consisted of.
"What did she say to him?!"
"This is no place for that!"
"Teacher, do something!"
Lilith then looked at Tsukimi-sensei and said, "You'll give me special permission to bring him with me, right?"
Tsukimi-sensei's expression was distorted at this moment, but she could only grit her teeth and showed a forced smile. "Go ahead..."
"We have gotten her permission now. Let's go, Tooru-kun." Lilith walked out without hesitation, but Tooru didn't move.
"..." Everyone.
Lilith must've realized that he didn't move, because she frowned and asked, "Did you not hear what I have told you?"
"I heard you, but why do we have to go now? Can't we at least wait for class to end?"
Lilith didn't seem discouraged and became even more excited. "It's my first time someone has rejected me, and it feels refreshing. While I don't like to repeat myself, I'll ask you again."
She looked at me with wide eyes and said, "Follow me, please Tooru?"
"Lets just respect Tsukimi-sensei and wait for class to end."
"..."
Everyone was silent and thought that their confrontation was so intense!
Tooru saw her upset expression.
'I guessed she must've felt upset after coming into the classroom only to be refused by me.'
Tooru began scribbling something in his notes. The class remained silent, and no one said anything.
"Lilith-san..." One of the more popular girls, a class rep wannabe, Tomoe thought to pacify the two. However, Tooru had the feeling that she mostly wanted to top Lilith with her selfishness since she didn't like the girl who was so bossy towards one of her newly acquainted classmates.
"You can just call me Lilith." Lilith took a deep breath, calming herself, then looked at Tsukimi-sensei.
"Tsukimi-sensei, I can bring him with me, right?" Lilith repeated her question.
Tsukimi-sensei was dumbfounded, but she couldn't just grit her teeth and nod. "...You can bring him with you."
Tooru stared speechlessly at Tsukimi-sensei. He should've known not to expect too much from this wage earner. He looked at Lilith and asked, "You want me that much?"
"That's right." Lilith showed a bright smile as she closed her distance. "I want you, Tooru Kokonoe."
"..."
While everyone was in a daze since this girl was so bold, Tomoe and the girl named Julie showed uneasy expressions.
However Miyabi, Tomoe's duo partner, was strangely calm since it was something she believed obvious to all that Tooru charm could charm anyone.
On the other hand, Tsukimi-sensei thought that it might be good for Lilith to bring Tooru, that way, she could take him away in the name of punishment for skipping her class.
"...You're serious?" Tooru was speechless since he really didn't expect this girl to want to take him with her so much.
"Yes." Lilith nodded and said, "However, let's talk about this somewhere else, since I want to talk in a quiet place."
"Still, you want me in what context? As a man? A confession? Or just a Duo?" Tooru continued to ask, flustered.
"Of course, as a Duo!" Lilith blushed as she twirled the end of her hair. "We have only met for the first day, after all. We need to know each other before we can step into the next relationship."
While she wanted to step into the next step as soon as possible, she didn't want Tooru to feel that she was an easy girl, and she didn't lie when she wanted to get to know him better. She only wanted Tooru after all, and she had never felt like this for anyone before.
"Well there's no helping it, we will be a duo now" Tooru complied.
At this, Lilith's expression lit up significantly, which made him feel a little bit better. "Yes!" she exclaimed. Now, whether it was a class, sleep, room, or training, she and Tooru would be together!
Tooru was glad to finally have a duo, but worried about the sleeping arrangements. They could probably discuss that later.
"You know, you can only be mine since we are both Exceptions." she proclaimed, still in front of the whole class.
"Exceptions?" Tooru queried. It seemed everyone was confused by this unfamiliar term.
"Similar to you, I am also special. We're the only exceptions among everyone, so without a doubt, in this life, you can only be my partner," Lilith again stated proudly to everyone.
"So..." Lilith stretched her hand and said, "As an exception. I want you, Tooru, to be mine."
"..." Everyone.
'She basically just confessed!'
Clearly she feels something for him. She is being nice about it (although a little bossy), so Tooru thought to just go with her... Then he got an idea.
"We can talk in our dorm later. For now, would you join me in Tsukimi-sensei's lesson?"
Lilith's eyes widened. Tooru agreed to talk to her intheirdorm room, and he invited her to spend time with him by sitting beside him in class. She had no reason to say no. Even if it meant sitting through this useless lesson, she could remain beside him. "Yes, I'd love to!"
Tooru shook his head and said, "Tsukimi-sensei, sorry for the interruption. Can you continue the class?"
Lilith seemed to only stare dreamily at him, ignoring everyone else. Tooru noticed she would occasionally flaunt her gaze at the other girls in class, but he didn't really understand why.
"Yes." Tsukimi-sensei nodded and said flatly, "By the way, for causing trouble in the class, you need to be punished, so come with me later, Tooru."
At this, Lilith had a look of great distaste.
