The same morning, the sleepy green cat was woken up by a quiet knocking on his door. While normally, his cat senses would tell him that the nap was too short and he needs more and he would ignore it, the quiet 'Beast Boy, are you asleep?' awoke him instantly.

He tried to say 'No', only to meow instead. Right. He changed back into human, happy that his clothes just appeared on him as usual. "No, I'm not, come in! Sorry for the mess, something wrong?"

'Mess' was being very generous. His room was a disaster. Comic books were everywhere, alongside other things like clothing, empty (and dirty) plates and cups. He was very aware of that, as he tried to stand in the barely-open doors to block Terra from seeing the state of his room.

"Nah, everything's fine. I was just bored, and the rest is either asleep or busy, or scary, so I thought we can do something before breakfast."

"…. Do you always get up this early?" Beast Boy asked, leaving his room (and making sure that Terra can't see much of how bad it looks) and closing the doors behind him.

"Sometimes. I was just so excited to spend more time with the Titans, I just couldn't stay in bed." Beast Boy tried his best to hide his skepticism. He knew how it feels to be underslept and hiding it with cheerfulness, and he instantly recognized what Terra was doing. Still, it wasn't his place to pry into it, at least not right now; if she wanted to talk about, hopefully she would as they get to know each other better and he earns her trust.

"So, what did you have in mind?" Beast Boy asked, stopping himself from yawning. This was really too early for him to get up.

"Well, I'd like to catch up to some comics that got new releases while I was on the way. I think I saw some in your room moments ago, wanna read together?" Beast Boy, hearing this, smiled widely. Finally, someone who also likes his superhero comics!

"Of course! Say, what do you think about fanfiction?"

When Robin arrived for breakfast, he found everyone already there. Raven was just sitting at the table, looking a little better – but still visibly underslept – while Cyborg was cooking something tasty in the kitchen. Whatever it was, it smelled sweet and tasty.

Beast Boy, Terra and Starfire were sitting on the couch, with laptop in front of them, apparently reading something. Curious, Robin walked to them and took a look before chuckling. "Really? Superman fanfiction? Don't you think it's weird to read stuff like that, when you can just talk with the real one?"

"Hey! I'll let you know that The Red Son is an amazing story, fanficiton or not." Beast Boy defended it. "I'm sure Superman wouldn't mind it if he knew about it. It's really well-written, and the author really has a good grasp on his character."

"I must say, when friend Beast Boy told me about this story, I was confused, but I can see why he likes it. It's not something I would normally be doing in my free time, but it's nice to see that friend Beast Boy likes it!" Starfire added.

"Your loss, girl, this story is amazing." Terra answered, sitting comfortably in the middle, between Beast Boy and Starfire. "I'm amazed the author, whoever they are, is still hiding their identity. They could make a lot of money if they wrote some original stories and not just fanfiction."

"Oh, there is a good reason for that, trust me." Robin had trouble holding back laughter. Oh, this was precious.

"Wait, you know who they are? Since when is Wonder Boy wasting time hunting down some fanfiction authors?" Beast Boy asked, visibly confused. Both Terra and Starfire, and at this point even Cyborg and Raven were looking at Robin with surprise.

"It's not a matter of story, but who the author is." Robin made a dramatic pause, waiting for the tension to rise in the room. Oh, he was going to enjoy it. "It's Luthor."

There was a moment of stunned silence. And then, an explosion of questions.

"Luthor? LEX Luthor?!"

"He writes FANFICITON?!"

"I don't believe it, it's impossible, he was in prison when that chapter released."

"But Superman isn't even super evil in this!"

Robin waited for the barrage of questions to recede a bit, before answering. "Yes, this Luthor. He had someone else publish it, since he doesn't want anyone else to know. Batman found out by accident some time ago when we were tracking some hidden LexCorp activity."

"But, but, why? I would expect Luthor to be, I don't know, the pure hero there, and Superman to be the evil villain!" Beast Boy protested, still shocked. "Or some kind of anti-superhero propaganda, not this!

"Well, Batman had a hypothesis about that. For all you can say about Luthor, he isn't delusional when it comes to Superman and morality. He knows exactly what both of them are capable of." Luthor made a lot of mistakes and projected himself on Superman a lot, but he definitely never underestimated Man of Steel's unbending morals. Robin never met the man himself, but Batman's files on him were very detailed. "Our best guess was that it's a hobby for Luthor, one he is hiding for obvious reasons, and he finds a satisfaction in being so popular even when anonymous. Notice how a lot of people like him in this story, and argue about him being in the right there, more then Superman. And about Superman not being totally evil, I think Luthor subconsciously knows that no matter what, Superman cannot truly be evil. Misguided, dangerous, yes. But not evil."

"But, isn't this Luthor an extremely evil person?" Starfire asked, confused. "I thought he spends all time plotting, and scheming, and doing the evil things."

"Nah, people aren't black and white, Star." Cyborg answered, continuing to cook. "Even the most evil people can have a hobby, and tend to do other things then just evil plots. Unless you expect Luthor to eat his salad every day and think 'this looks almost like kryptonite, I could use it to bring evil to the world!'" Cyborg exclaimed with a dramatic voice, causing most of the other Titans to laugh at the idea of Luthor conquering world with salad.

Raven was he only Titan who wasn't laughing. While she agreed with Cyborg about evil people rarely being just pure evil, she also knew that wasn't always the case. There were forces of pure darkness in the world, without anything else inside them. Beings of pure evil, more akin to a force of nature then a person.
Like Trigon.

Beast Boy looked at the screen, visibly confused. "I don't think I want to read it anymore."

"Why? It's still the same story, and if anything, the fact Luthor wrote it makes it more interesting." Terra answered, taking the laptop. "Does it really matter who wrote it?"

"Nah, not a big fan of reading works by evil people. Leaves bad taste in my mouth."

"Speaking of taste, food is ready!" Cyborg announced, accidentally stopping an argument about 'death of the author' from starting. "Star, I got a seafood with vanilla for you, I hope you'll like it."

"Thank you, friend Cyborg!"

Sometime later that day, Beast Boy sat alone at the rocky beach of the Tower. It was late evening, and everyone was getting ready to sleep. He would also go to sleep soon, but there was something that was bugging him, and he couldn't quite figure what.

Terra was an amazing person. Happy, energetic, able to keep up with Starfire and spend time with Cyborg in equal measure. She also turned out to be a great fan of superhero comics, funnily enough a rare thing among actual superheroes.

He was worried a little bit about Raven – for whatever reason, she seemed to avoid Terra, and he was sure the geomancer also noticed it. Both him and Cyborg were considering asking Raven about it, but noticed that Starfire and - to their surprise - Robin were both keeping her company and making sure doesn't feel lonely or abandoned.

Beast Boy had no idea why, but he was happy to see Robin spend more time with Raven. As much as he tried to hide it, the team leader had a bad case of minor obsession over her, and her secrets. Fortunately, the latest events made him realize the errors he made, and being a little more open with Raven (and the rest of the team) was a welcomed change.

Still, while he was happy to see his team working together and being close friends with each other, there was still something about Terra that made him a little uneasy. Behind all the smiles, happiness, and energy, he could see something else. Pain, well-hidden, but sometimes visible; and sadness, from time to time obvious in her eyes, even if just for a moment.

He started absent-mindedly stone skipping, still deep in thought, until he noticed that one of the stones he threw wasn't making any noise. He looked at it, and saw that said stone was hovering in mid-air, surrounded with barely-visible yellow glow.

"Hi, Terra." He said, smiling. The geomancer sat next to him, and summoned the stone to her hand. "Can't sleep?"

"Nah, just noticed you here all alone and thought you can use some competition. How good are you with stone skipping?"

"One of the worst in in the Tower, actually." She looked at him, surprised, and he chuckled. "Yeah, surprising I know, but look at all the others. Robin is just best in everything, Starfire can probably throw this stone few kilometers away, and Cyborg is really good in everything that's either precise or competitive."

"And Raven?"

"Well, she never does that. But I'm sure she can just magic her stone to literally walk on water."

"Like this?" Terra asked, and threw the stone. Like an overexcited pet, the stone started jumping on water multiple times in rapid succession, before jumping back to her hand. Terra looked at it, proud. "You know, maybe I should challenge Raven to some stone skipping, hopefully that'll make her like me a little more."

"Raven is just not the people person, but she's a good friend." Beast Boy said, throwing another stone. He winced, seeing it sink in the water without skipping. "And, for the record, I think you'd win. You seem to have really good control over your powers to do that."

Moments later, the ground below him suddenly flew up. Beast Boy fell on his back, surprised, and quickly sat back up. He was opening his mouth to ask 'what?' when suddenly the rocks, gravel and sand fell down in the water. A particularly big rock fell with enough force to splash him with water, and instead of question he started coughing as the water got into his open mouth,

"Beast Boy!" Instead of helping, Terra jumped up and took one, then two more steps back, as if she was afraid of him. He just shook his head and coughed up the last of the water, more surprised than anything else. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, Terra, relax. I can just turn into fish, remember? You won't drown me by accident." For some reason, the joke, instead of lightening the mood, made Terra look even more skittish. "Better question, are you alright? You look scared."

"I, I should go…" She started, taking one more step back.

"Woah, easy. I'm not doing anything, you're not in danger." Beast Boy thought for a moment, quickly coming to correct conclusion. "And I'm not afraid of you, so please, stay, Terra."

"But…" She started, looking unsure and ready to run.

"You're not the only one who has trouble controlling their powers, Terra." Beast Boy said quietly, staying motionless. Whatever happened to her, she was visibly tense, and he didn't want to provoke any sudden reaction from her. "All of us, except Robin, had or still have them."

"What? But, you're the Titans!" Terra said, confused, pain now fully visible in her suddenly much older-looking eyes. "And I… I am…"

"Terra." Beast Boy said calmly, still remaining still. "Few months ago, I lost control of my powers. Completely. You probably heard of it, if you were reading up on us. Raven lost control when fighting Doctor Light. It happens to everyone. Even Superman took a long time to get used to Earth."

"At least none of you have destroyed a city." Terra said quietly, her self-loathing easy to hear. Beast Boy's eyes opened wide when he suddenly realized what it meant, and what was the reason for all the pain he could feel inside Terra.

"I… don't think he would agree." Seeing Terra's confusion, he clarified. "Superman. He was mind-controlled and attacked Metropolis not long ago. I think he still has nightmares over it. But, he is still a hero to the people of Metropolis and the world, in the end."

"But it's different. He was mind-controlled, I just… am." Terra whispered the last word, shaking.

Beast Boy, taking care to do it very, very slowly, got up and extended his hand. "Terra. I'm here, and I'm not afraid. I don't judge you because you have trouble controlling your powers. Trust me." He stayed there, not moving, waiting for her to accept. He held his breath, hoping he could persuade her to stay.

Terra, very slowly, took one small step forward. Second. Third. She took his hand; he wasn't holding her, wasn't trying to stop her by force. Instead, he was supporting her. Iit was a silent promise of not letting go. His hand was warm, as were his eyes as he looked at her.

"Terra. I promise, you are safe, and you won't hurt anyone. We can help you. Starfire, when she came here, almost broke Cyborg's bones when hugging him. She also nearly changed me into fried chicken, but that's a different story…" He added quietly, and to his relief Terra smiled slightly, hearing this.

"Are you still green when you're fried?" She asked weakly, shaking less and not looking like she was on the verge of running, even if she was still very tense.

"Well, I never found out, because Robin helped her control her powers and not hurt people by accident. Each and every one of us could hurt a lot of people, but that's why we train and help each other. Terra, I am not going to force you to do anything. You can go, if you want. But, if you stay, we can help you. Worst case scenario, we can ask League to take you to their space station to train. You wouldn't have to worry about damaging anything there, and they can help you as well."

"You… would do that? Knowing what I did?" She asked quietly, so quiet he could barely hear her.

"Yes. I will do anything I can to help you." Beast Boy answered, and he was sure of it. He would not leave her to be alone.
No matter what.

"You won't tell anyone else?"

"Not unless you want me to."

Two teenage superheroes stood there, lost in each other's words and eyes. None of them could say how long it took, before Terra slowly nodded.

And Beast Boy was happy.

Both of them returned to the Tower soon after, tired, but happy. After this emotional discussion, they wanted nothing else but go to sleep.

"Took you a while."

Beast Boy and Terra both jumped in surprise, screaming; fortunately for her, she was too tired to do anything big with her powers, but there was a small rumbling and the Tower shook minimally, causing Robin to raise an eyebrow. "You two alright?"

"Dude! I swear, one of those days, I'll really hang a cowbell on you! You scared us to death." Beast Boy answered, hugging shaking Terra. Moments later, when they both realized what he was doing, they jumped away from each other.

Robin felt a weird emotion that he couldn't identify, seeing this. Loneliness? He shook his head and pushed it down, ignoring it. He must have stayed up too long today. "Relax, both of you. Terra, I just wanted to say that we'll have some training tomorrow, wanna join?"

Few hours ago, she would decline. And probably run away soon after. But now, she decided to give it a try.
Worst case scenario, she can always just run away later.

"Sure." She answered, covering her fear with a wide, dangerous grin. "Just be warned, I'm not gonna go easy on the great Robin himself."

"I wouldn't count on that." He answered cockily, although internally he winced. Great. After his experiences training with the rest of his team, he really wasn't going to risk broken limbs from flying stones. Nope.
Good thing he already had a plan to avoid that.

"Wait." Beast Boy said to Terra when they reached his room. Robin already left to the evidence room, leaving two of them alone.

"Hm?" She asked, turning around; she was already going to her room to finally hit sleep. "What?"

"Do you wanna sleep in my room?"

Terra looked at him with surprise, before smiling. "So forward, shouldn't you at least get me a dinner first? I thought you were a gentleman." She teased him, but to her surprise he didn't grow red and didn't react, unlike previously.

"Nope, not doing this right now. You are shaken and probably scared. I want you to sleep well, and from experience I know how hard is it to sleep like this. I sometimes sleep with Starfire when I can't fall asleep myself. That's it." Beast Boy was now fully into his superhero mode, far from easily-flustered, happy-go-lucky kid. He was serious and focused, and Terra had to admit, he looked really amazing like this.

After a moment of hesitation, she nodded, and entered his room. Beast Boy already changed into a cat, and was sitting on his bed, waiting. Terra just shook her head and laughed, seeing this, some of her earlier tension leaving her. She slowly laid down in bed, and moments later a ball of green fluff and warmth was on top of her, purring quietly.

Terra, for the first time in years, felt herself relax and slowly fell asleep. The nightmares were still there, but much weaker and more distant than ever.
And in her room, Raven smiled. While she did enjoy the fact that she could finally fall asleep, first and foremost it felt so nice to feel Terra relax and no longer radiate pain and fear.

On the next day, in the morning, Robin started waking everyone up. He knew Starfire and Cyborg were already awake, used to the training schedule, and Raven was never asleep in the early morning. This left Beast Boy, who still had issues waking up, so he always made sure he's awake before checking on the rest.

To his surprise, he found Raven meditating in front of his door. Before he managed to ask, she answered, without opening her eyes. "Beast Boy and Terra are inside. Before you say anything, nothing weird happened, and I would like you to not wake them up right now."

Stunned, Robin stood there for a moment. It was still rare for Raven to talk much, or initiate conversations, and finding her here was unusual to say the least. "Um, Raven, are you alright?"

"Yes, thank you. I will make sure Beast Boy is up for the training soon, but you should let them rest for now." Raven went back to her meditation, ignoring Robin who, wisely, decided not to press the issue and instead left to check on others.

Raven remained motionless and focused, slowly finishing her meditation. Part of her was still wandering why she was here, instead of her comfy bed, but feeling both Beast Boy and Terra sleeping soundly and without nightmares made it worth it. Besides, if Robin saw them together in bed, he would probably react badly, and with how skittish Terra felt at times they should really avoid any outbursts for now.

Still, it was time for them to get up, so she slowly stood up and knocked on the door. "Beast Boy, time to get up."

Of course, the green Titan, currently in the form of a cat, was having none of it. He was sleeping on something soft and safe, and it was way too early. He meowed something that sounded like 'no' and went back to sleep.

Terra woke up, and somehow felt… safe. It took her a moment to realize the reason for it, and she moved her head slightly to look at Beast Boy. She smiled. He looked so adorable. She started petting him gently, and to her surprise he started purring.

"Beast Boy." Raven said from behind the door, slightly louder. "Don't make me come in and wake you up. I already had to stop Robin from barging in."

Beast Boy's only answer was a loud, meowing protest, and getting back to sleep. Terra couldn't stop herself; she chuckled, barely holding a full-blown laughter inside her. "You, you're just adorable, Beast Boy." She whispered quietly, still trying not to laugh out loud.

Hearing her voice, Beast Boy realized suddenly that his 'warm pillow' is, in fact, Terra. He made a squeaking noise and jumped off the bed, transforming halfway. Sadly, it meant that instead of landing perfectly on four paws, he just fell unceremoniously off the bed and onto the floor.

Terra had to put her face in a pillow and cover her head with a quilt to stop her uncontrolled laughter from alarming Raven. She still doubted that the Titan didn't hear it, but if she did, she did not show it. "I hear you're awake, Beast Boy. You have twenty minutes before breakfast is done, then we have training to do."

"Yes, yes, I'm awake." Beast Boy finally said, trying to get up. He was really thankful for his shapeshifting ability just making his clothes reappear every time he got back to his human form. "I'll, um, be there soon."

Hearing this, Raven shrugged and left. She was going to spend those twenty minutes in her room, alone. Considering that Robin already made it obvious that every visiting superhero is an occasion for more training, she had no doubt that she won't get any rest or alone time until evening.

Meanwhile, in Beast Boy's room, all his seriousness from the previous day disappeared. He was back to stuttering, growing red, and torn between trying to clean the horrible mess that was his room and pretending nothing is wrong, all while Terra was no longer stifling her laughter.

Seeing that she was undoubtedly feeling better, he gave up on trying to make his room more presentable and smiled. Now that was what he was hoping to see. Nothing like a good night's sleep to help someone feel better, even if a little.

Terra finally stopped laughing and wiped tears off her face, still chuckling. "Anyone ever told you that you are really adorable? Because you are."

"Starlight, um, few times." He answered, grabbing some flesh clothing and trying to calm himself. He was very proud of himself yesterday, helping Terra, but now he was second-guessing himself, looking at the state of his room and himself. "Always happy to help." Now, that sounded better.

"Who knows, maybe I will. Hey, maybe me and Starlight can sleep her together with you, since you're so comfy." His barely regained wits abandoned him, and he started sputtering, dropping the fresh clothes on the not-so-fresh floor, accompanied by Terra's melodic laughter. "See you at the breakfast!"

With these words, Terra left for her room, smiling widely. Her fears and pain forgotten for a moment, she was starting to like it here.
Maybe, just maybe, she could really have a home here. She doubted that, but there was no a smallest spark of hope, and every time she thought about Beast Boy, that spark grew.

The breakfast was simple, but tasty. Cyborg was really good at cooking, not that she was the greatest judge of that. Living on the run, she was used to eating anything edible she could find.

But it didn't mean she couldn't appreciate a good meal.

"You're a great cook, Cyborg. How did you manage to make so much of it? Did you get up hours before us, or something?" She asked as another plate of food disappeared in her ever-hungry stomach.

"Easy there, you don't want to overeat before training." Robin warned, eating his, much smaller, breakfast. Not being metahuman, he was not going to eat too much just before they would go train.

He was, of course, the only one. Beast Boy would just change into some animal with higher metabolism and in an hour would be ready to go no matter how much he ate. Raven ate very little, as usual. Starfire would process the food into energy before they get to training, and Cyborg, used to strict regime of being a sport star, never overate.

And, of course, Terra was also a metahuman. "Nah, don't worry, Robin, I'll be fine. Worst case scenario, I'll make it easier for you guys to catch up to me when we spar." She noticed that Raven winced a little. Why? The magical Titan was an enigma, as usual. "Speaking of which, what's the plan?"

"I'm glad you asked." Robin answered with a smile, causing almost everyone at the table to sight. His enthusiasm with new training ideas was only matched by his enthusiasm during said exercises. "I asked Cyborg to make a small obstacle course outside. Since your powers are geomantic in nature, we will do the first part of the training there, and then we move inside for some close-combat sparring."

So, she only has to pass the first half of that test using her powers. She just needs to keep control for that time, when they move inside she won't have to. Keep calm, don't panic, it's not like last time when you trained to keep things under control…

Terra was starting to feel slight panic. No, no, no! However, before she fell into a cycle of losing control, panicking, and losing even more control, she felt a hand on her arm. She looked to her left, and saw Beast Boy, smiling and holding her arm. It was calming.

"Don't worry, if we all can manage these exercises, you can. It's nothing special, just some normal superhero stuff."

"Said the guy who failed half of them last month." Cyborg murmured quietly.

Sadly not quiet enough.

"Hey! It's not my fault Robin made this so hard!"

"Are you sure you didn't forget to change back from sloth one day, green stain?" Cyborg asked innocently. "That would explain so much."

"Hey! I have you know that sloths aren't lazy, they're efficient! They use very little energy, which allows them to survive with much less food then other, even smaller animals."

"Well, that can't be right, friend Beast Boy! You eat a lot, so you can't be a sloth!" Starfire said, deep in thought.

"Nah, I'm pretty sure Beast Boy is just a cat." Terra said, smiling at her friend. "Likes to eat, sleep, likes warmth. Also adorable and cute."

Beast Boy choked on his food, causing others to laugh. Terra joined the laughter, and for the first time in years it felt a little less forced then it used to. Even the perspective of the imminent training felt much less daunting then it would just two days ago.

With meal done, they moved to training. True to his word, Cyborg used the League technology to quickly build a small obstacle course on the rocky part of the Titan Island. It was nothing fancy by superhero standards, but of course a league (pun intended) above anything normal mortals would train on.

Giant metal fists extending from the ground. Multiple sets of automated rapid-fire turrets, both energy and solid projectile. Huge guillotine-like barriers trying to cut the advancing heroes in half (alright, maybe not cut them, but they definitely looked dangerous, Terra thought.) Pits opening under them, trying to swallow them.

She swallowed nervously, seeing Cyborg go through the obstacle course. Part of her was impressed he managed to build this on such short notice, League tech or not. However, this small part was overwhelmed by the fact that she would have to go through it soon.

She felt Beast Boy's hand on her arm again, only now noticing she was holding her arms and looking anxious. She forced herself to relax, at least visibly, and turned to Beast Boy with a smile.

He wasn't so easy to fool, but instead of calling her out on her hidden fear, he just smiled as well. "Don't worry Terra. I believe in you. No matter what."

She tried to answer, but couldn't think of anything to say. She squeezed his hand in silent 'thanks', not aware that all other Titans noticed it; Robin with neutral, analytical look, but a slight smile on his face, similar to Raven, while Starfire was beaming with happiness and barely holding herself from hugging everyone around her. Tamaranian was so happy to her new friend open up to them, and she had no doubts it was a beginning of a great friendship.

"Boooyah! Two minutes seventeen seconds! New record!" Cyborg shouted as he finished the race. He put his hands in the air triumphantly. "Who's the best? I am!"

"… is everything a race to you?" Raven asked monotonously, with just a little bit of her usual sarcasm in her voice. "Congratulations on setting a record on an obstacle course that no one run before. Really impressive."

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with a little competition. What, think you can do better?" Cyborg asked, still smug. "Be my guest, I'm sure Robin will be happy to see us all run through it."

"I. Am surrounded. By children." Raven answered with all the seriousness of a 14-year-old superhero trying to argue she's not a kid.

"Alright everyone, let's see what time we can actually get on this exercise. Terra, you're up to this?" Robin made sure to ask and not order. Another thing that separated him from Batman. "Or do you want me to go first?"

"Nah, I already know you're going to beat it no sweat. I'd rather beat it now and see you try to be better than me then the opposite." Terra winked at him, putting her goggle on her eyes. Her geomantic powers made it safe to use them, and she couldn't accidentally hurt her eyes just with some sand or dirt. But it still stung, and if something got stuck under her eyelids it would be very unpleasant having to remove it.

She heard them cheer on her, and focused. She's not going to fail them.
Not going to fail Beast Boy. He believes in her, after all, and she couldn't bear to see him sad. Ever. He's way too cute for that.

She heard the electronic beep and started running. She knew her powers got harder and harder to control the more she used them and more tired she was, and she planned to get through this as fast as she could to avoid it.

Of course, it wouldn't be so easy. Turrets extended, rapid-firing powerful bolts of energy in her directions. Too many and too fast to dodge; fortunately, she knew just what to do in a situation like this. She catapulted herself in the air on a huge stone columns. The lasers obliterated the stone in moments – she gulped, trying not to think about them hitting her by accident – but she got enough height and speed to rocket forward past them. Perfect. Full control. She could do this! She stood on her flying rock, triumphantly.

Moments later, giant fists emerged from the ground directly in front of her, and she almost lost control. She fell off her rock, barely holding to it with both arms, and managed to avoid hitting the mechanical ambush by less than half a meter. With her arms holding the flying rock, she had a limited amount of options to use her powers, but fortunately she could still steer her improvised vehicle.

She hit another metal fist directly, her rock falling apart. She went down hard, barely managing to summon a new rock to grab onto. In fact, she lost control and summoned a swarm of rocks, but the important part was that she managed to get at least one, right?

She built too much speed with her powers, and realized she would hit the metal guillotines head-on. Instinctively, she summoned huge stone fists – very similar to metal ones she just avoided – and blasted the obstacles away to pieces.

"… on the plus side, we won't have to go through this today!" Beast Boy tried to lighten the mood, but immediately stopped when he saw Robin look at him with disappointments. "Um, it's not like we pay for those, right?"

"… we're doing extra training today. Thanks for volunteering to show our new Titan how to not ruin the obstacle course every time she does it, Beast Boy." Robin knew his green teammate would volunteer to train with Terra anyway, so he wasn't surprised he didn't protest.

"My hard work!" Cyborg, on the other hand, was both amazed by Terra's power and shocked by seeing his beautiful obstacle course ruined. He just stood there, mouth open, gaping at the utter destruction in front of him.

Sudden pits opening? Filled with earth and sand faster than they could open. More turrets? Blasted with rocks. Terra was, in fact, trying to fly over as many obstacles as she could, but it took all her concentration and focus to not completely lose control over her powers, and she preferred some unconscious collateral damage to whatever was attacking her over, say, collateral damage to the island itself. Or the Tower. Or Titans.

Terra landed – definitely, absolutely not crashed – in front of the Titans, finishing the obstacle course. She almost lost balance, but manage to transform it into cool-looking three-point landing. She theatrically got up and bowed, smiling cockily, the adrenaline still rising in her veins. "How's that, Cyborg? What's the time?"

"… One minute fifty six seconds." Cyborg admitted grudgingly, torn between his dislike for losing and the ruin of his obstacle course. Of course, there were more and less important things, and he knew which one of those was the most important here. "Give me a day to fix it, and I'll make a new record so high, you will need your powers to dig yours from underground in comparison."

"Children." Raven said in her wise, impassionate tone, causing the other Titans – even Terra – to chuckle.

Robin, of course, already managed to understand everything – or at least he was sure he did. Terra had issues with controlling her powers, that much was obvious. Probably some traumatic experiences from the past. Whoever was hunting her did a number of her, but her powers were no inherently more dangerous or harder to control then average superhero's. He will talk with her about some training to better control it later, maybe even ask Watchtower to help. League had equipment that even Superman could train, so getting something for Terra wouldn't be hard.

His train of thought was interrupted by the sudden alarm.

My health finally got a little better, and I manage to finish this chapter today – only to see that I got more kudos and comments in the meantime! Thank you all. I am sorry for the delays lately, and while I can't promise anything I will do my best to go back to writing more regularly.
