Wally remembered that hoagie had given them special beacons that would summon a ship in an emergency. So, wally activated his and it summoned a S.C.A.M.P.E.R. to their location. Then it was just a matter of loading his friends as carefully as he could into the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. and setting the autopilot for the Moonbase. After a seemingly decades long flight, they arrived and the rest of sector V was rushed to the Moonbase hospital. Wally would have gone straight to the waiting room to await their recovery, but he had to make a report to the supreme leader aka numuh 362 aka Rachael.
"So, Numbuh 4, what happened to your team?" asked Rachael.
"We were captured by this new villain guy, called himself the dark ronin." said Wally
"What happened?" asked Numbuh 86 aka the global tactics officer aka fanny fulbright
"Well, I woke up and this ronin guy starts chatting with me. Says he took out the rest of my team and saved me for last because we're kindred spirits or whatever..." said Wally
"And you defeated him?" asked Fanny
"Just barely, then he returned the rest of my team and said that he'd underestimated me and that it wouldn't happen again." said Wally
"We need to look into this 'dark ronin' " said Fanny
"Agreed. Numbuh 4, dismissed." said Rachael
"Yes, sir!" said Wally
Wally then returned to the hospital waiting room to await his team's recovery. He didn't have to wait for long.
"Numbuh 4? Your team is just fine now. They're waiting for you." said a KND doctor. Wally rushed into the room and saw his teammates resting in bed.
"Hi wally!" said Kuki
"How're you guys doing?" asked Wally
"Much better than a few hours ago, that's for sure." said Nigel
"How did you get us here?" asked Hoagie
"Well, I just used that thingamabob you invented to summon a S.C.A.M.P.E.R., then set the autopilot to the moonbase." said Wally
"Numbuh 5's impressed that you managed to figure that out all on your own." said Abby
"Hey! I have my moments you know!" said Wally
"We know Wally." said Kuki
"So what happened after we were knocked out?" asked Nigel
"I made a deal with the dark ronin to release us all if I beat him in single combat. I defeated him, and he let you all go and disappeared." said Wally
"Numbuh 5 has a feeling that we haven't heard the last of that creep..." said Abby
TRANSMISSION INTERRUPTED
After the rest of sector v got discharged from the hospital, they returned to their treehouse. Everything was in the same place as they left it. It was as if they never left. They kept a look out for the dark ronin as well as other villains, but things were quiet, surprisingly. Until one day...
"Team meeting!" called Nigel
"What is it Numbuh 1?" asked Abby
"The dark ronin has sent us a message. Here it is." said Nigel, revealing a small cube. He twisted it and a holographic message from the dark ronin played
"Sector V! I the dark ronin, invite you to join me for a littleget togetherat the park. I will have it emptied beforehand. Oh, by the way, if you refuse, or are late, I will have no choice but to destroy your homes:Nigel uno, Hogarth P. Gilligan, Kuki Sanban, Wallabee Beetles and Abigail Lincoln!Oh, also I know your real names. See you soon!" said the dark ronin.
Sector V said nothing for a while.
"Whenisthis little get together, Numbuh one?" asked Hoagie
"We have just enough time to get to the park if we leave now, Numbuh 2" said Nigel
"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go get this guy!" said Wally.
And so they did. They arrived at the park just in time.
"Ah, you're on time. Good." said the Dark ronin
"What do you want, dark ronin?" asked Nigel
"It occurred to me that I faced you all one-on-one, but I have yet to face you as a group. One would assume, from your wildly different personalities, you would be the most dysfunctional team on earth. However, you are widely regarded as one of the greatest teams the KND has ever seen. I want to see if you live up to the hype." said the Dark Ronin
"Well bring it on! There's five of us and one of you." said Wally
"Whyyes, it does seem you have me outnumbered. That's not fair, is it?" said the dark ronin.
The dark ronin cast a spell, which created duplicates of him.
"That's more like it. Now.. let the battle commence!" said the dark ronin
"Kids next door...BATTLE STATIONS!" said Numbuh 1
Sector V leapt into combat against the duplicates. All the while, therealdark ronin snuck through the shadows, waiting for the optimum time to strike. Then it came. In the heat of battle, he leapt at Kuki who didn't see him coming straight at her. Wally did see him though.
"KukiLOOK OUT!" bellowed wally as he pushed Kuki out of the way, which was exactly what the dark ronin wanted. With a single strike from his twin katanas, he fatally wounded wally.
"WALLY!" screamed Kuki
"My job here is done.." said the dark ronin and then he and his duplicates vanished in puffs of smoke.
"We have to get Wally to the hospital!" said Kuki
"Kuki..." said Nigel
"WHAT?!" said Kuki
"We'll never be able to get him there in time baby..." said Abby sadly
"No! We can't give up..." said Kuki
"Kuki?" said Wally weakly.
"Wally, you saved me!" said Kuki
"You would've done the same. Now I want to tell you guys something before I... pass on." said Wally
"Don't talk like that!" said Kuki
"Nigel, you were the best leader I've ever had. Just remember to go easy with the conspiracy theories, ok?" said Wally
"I'll try." said Nigel
"Hoagie, you're inventions have saved all our butts more times than I can count. Never stop inventing." said Wally
"I promise." said Hoagie, barely holding in tears
"Abby, you were like the cool, older sister I never had. Look after everyone, ok?" said Wally
"You can count on Numbuh 5, baby." said Abby
"Kuki... There's so much I want to say... but I'll cut to the chase. I love you Kuki, I've loved you for a long time. I'm sorry that I never had the guts to tell you before..." said Wally
"Wally, I love you too! I always have. And I need you to stay with me. "Please!" said Kuki, choking up
"I'm sorry..." said Wally closing his eyes.
The last thing wally heard was Kuki screeching "WALLY! NO!" before his life slipped away...
