I don't own Aqua Teen Hunger Force or any of its characters.
I must have eventually fallen asleep again because the next thing I knew the screaming of my alarm clock broke into my dreams. Yawning, I lazily threw my legs over the edge of my bed and climbed out of it. I was shaky on my feet at first, but once I steadied myself, I walked over to my dresser where I kept my alarm clock so I would have to get up and go shut it off instead of putting it right next to my bed in case I hit snooze and fell back to sleep again.
At first, I was shocked to see that it was only six in the morning. I didn't have to get up for another hour and a half. But then I remembered that I reset my alarm last night to make sure I was up before everyone else so I could talk to the Aqua Teens without worrying someone might see me talking to myself.
Suddenly remembering the Aqua Teens reminded me of last night when Shake came into my room and got into bed with me. Instinctively, my hands formed fists, wanting nothing more than to punch him in the face. But I relaxed, telling myself that violence never solved anything. Frylock was used to the milkshake. He handles him when Shake gets too out of control… Well most of the time, when he feels like it, and I thank the Lord above that he came to my rescue last night.
Opening my door, I walked into the living room. The three food products were all watching TV, Shake sitting in my mom's chair, while Frylock laid back in my dad's chair. Meatwad was sitting on the floor instead of the sofa. At first I was confused why, but then I shrugged when I remembered that he always had to sit on the floor on the show because Shake didn't allow him in his chair. Maybe he found the floor more comfortable?
I dismissed all these thoughts and walked over to the cartoons. They turned to me as I approached.
"Did you sleep well?" At least, Frylock sounded friendly. He floated upwards as I stopped in front of the chairs.
I noticed Shake glancing at me, but I ignored him. "It wasn't bad, compared to all the other nights I couldn't sleep at all." I hoped he wouldn't ask me why I've had trouble sleeping in the past. How was I supposed to explain that the show they are from sometimes gives me nightmares?
"Oh, well at least, you got a good night's sleep last night," Meatwad remarked, rolling up to his friend and I.
An annoyed snort made the three of us turn to Shake, but he was looking at the TV again and didn't even side glance at us. Shrugging, I looked back at Frylock and Meatwad.
"I guess I should jump in the shower." I couldn't help but notice the look Shake gave me when I said that. My heart sank. It was obvious that the milkshake liked me, but I didn't return the feeling. On TV, it shows he only falls for girls for one reason, like most guys, and I find that disgusting.
After grabbing an outfit, I rinsed off in the shower. When I climbed out, I got dressed, fixed my hair, and then brushed my teeth.
When I returned to the living room, I saw only Meatwad. He was still sitting on the floor, watching TV, even though both chairs were available now. He looked at me as I walked over to the front door. I pulled the curtains aside and glanced out the window, noticing that all but one car was gone.
My brother was at the computer, so I had to pretend that Meatwad wasn't there. The meatball rolled over to me as I opened the door. Andy said nothing as I left the house with Meatwad close behind. I closed the front door after us, and the ball of meat opened the screen door. Once we were down the steps and on the sidewalk, Meatwad turned to me and smiled.
"Where are you friends?" I asked him, realizing that he wasn't going to say anything, so I had to.
"Frylock said they were going for a walk." Meatwad looked curious. "He said they'd be back before you left to go to school."
"Wait, you three are coming to school with me?" It was bad enough that the Aqua Teens were practically following me around now. I didn't want to deal with them at school too. Anyways, Frylock said I'm the only one who could see them, so if they talked to me, it would be hard to answer them without someone seeing me talking to nothing. Everyone at school already thought I was weird because I kept to myself all the time!
A deep voice behind me spoke before Meatwad could. "I wanted to see more of your life."
I turned around to see Frylock floating over the fence.
What did he mean by that? But I didn't have time to ask him, because I was distracted by Shake who opened the gate and walked over to us.
At the same moment, the house door opened and Andy appeared on the porch. "Come get your stuff, Candy," he called to me. "We're living in a few minutes."
"Okay," I responded. I didn't say anything else to the Aqua Teena, only going inside to get my school books, while the food people walked out of my yard, heading down the street.
It was 4th period which was English and I was trying to listen to my teacher, but I kept getting distracted. I haven't seen the Aqua Teens since before we left, and I was replaying what Frylock said about seeing more of my life. So where were they?
School was almost over, only two more periods after this one. Just then I heard the classroom door open, and I glanced back to see the Aqua Teens walking in. Nobody else seemed to notice them, so I quickly turned my attention back on the teacher.
The cartoons stayed at the back of the class.
I wondered why the teacher or any of the other students didn't notice the door opening, but nobody entered. Even if other people can't see the Aqua Teens, surely they could see a door opening on its own or something floating in midair?
After about 20 minutes of the teacher talking and writing stuff on the chalkboard, the bell went off. Everyone immediately got up and left the classroom. But I was the last to leave. The Aqua Teens were right behind me.
I was heading toward my next class when Shake ran in front of me, causing me to halt, and I was thankful a lot of people were around me, so if anyone noticed me, they would think I was stuck in the crowd. I glared at the milkshake, but I couldn't ask him why he was stopping me, because someone might overhear me.
"We need to talk," Shake told me, glancing at his friends.
"Yes," Frylock agreed. "Follow us."
Unable to object, I had no choice but to follow. They seemed to know where they were going, and I wondered how long they had been at my school, obviously looking for a safe place for us to talk where nobody would see or overhear them. Hopefully soon I'll find out why they are here.
Finally, after a bit of walking, they came to a door. A heartbeat later, the second bell rang, indicating everyone should be in their next class, but it looks like I'm not going to make it to 5th period. I sighed as I followed them into the room.
I turned on the lights and realized this room was as big as a classroom, but it was completely empty besides a chalkboard and a couple of desks that were pushed up against the wall.
Shake closed the door behind me, while Frylock floated in the middle of the room with Meatwad sitting beside him. Then Shake joined them, and they all just stared at me.
"I guess you've been wondering why we came here," Frylock finally said. "Well, our world is in trouble."
Just then the doorknob started moving. I turned around and widened my eyes when the principal of the school opened the door. Oh, no! I thought, alarmed. He couldn't have picked the absolute worst time to show up!
He stopped when he saw me and a hard expression formed on his face. "What are you doing in here?" He sounded mad. "You should be in class."
I wondered how he knew I was in here, but I was frozen, terrified.
"You're coming with me, young lady." He grabbed my arm and led me down the hallway, toward his office.
The Aqua Teens kept pace with us. Frylock looked worried, while Shake looked annoyed, although I could see a tiny bit of concern in his eyes and I guess he was trying his hardest not to show that he cared about me. I could relate. I do the same thing every once and a while when I feel like hiding my true feelings, because I don't want to seem weak. I pushed that thought out of my head. I'm not like him!
Meatwad was rolling just behind Shake, trying to keep up.
"We'll get you out," Frylock said to me which made me sigh softly.
He was talking like I was going to jail. I wanted to tell him that I was probably going to get in-school suspension, but I couldn't with the principal holding onto my arm and pulling me down the hallway.
I tried to hide it, but I was terrified. I never got in trouble at school before, even though I have skipped class a few times, but nobody's caught me before. I'm not a great student, although some of my teachers would disagree with that, and I'm not a bad one either. I really just don't want anyone to notice me.
I can't even begin to imagine what my parents will do when they find out. I've been starting to act up at home, so now they were really going to punish me. I frowned when I realized this. They'd probably take away my TV; my music; my computer; and yell at me. I sighed inwardly, hoping the principal would go easy on me since I don't have a record of doing bad things.
