1: A Return to a New Beginning
Cinder watched as everyone converse on the grounds of the Temple of Airjitzu. After saving Ray from the effects of the Fast-Forward Timeblade by using the Reverdal Timeblade they all went back to mourn for the loss of Sensei. Kai and Nya told everyone what happened against the Time Twins in the past and the sacrifice that Sensei made to have the Iron Doom go out of control in the time rift. With him gone Lloyd became leader and Sensei to the team, with Kai giving the Timeblade to Lloyd to hide it someplace safe. To make sure no one finds it and uses it to change the time again. After that they changed the topic when Jay questions the dragonet about the armor. Which the dragonet did, explaining that the timeline getting affected caused him to meet his parents for the first time. Causing Cole to come over and hug him with happiness. Cinder continues talking, saying the armor was from his dad who gave it to him as a heirloom as he has his mom's jewelry.
Now a few days later everyone was cleaning up the mess that occurred at the temple. With Cinder using his Wind element to blow debris off the grounds and onto the ground below. With the others sweeping or pulling things back to their spots as the area came back to its usual self. Cinder thought of how everyone reacted to him having control over time during the battle against Acronix at the ruins of the Monastery. He looked around at how the others fared, especially Kai and Nya. The two were chatting with their parents as they bonded with them. The dragonet smiled; over the battle against the twins the Fire and Water ninja found their parents, who were alive and not dead. They were threatened by the other twin Krux when the two were kids and Krux told them if they listen to him he'll not hurt the two kids.
Now the four were having a family reunion, hugging and chatting as they helped clean the Temple up. Cinder sighed as he watched them; seeing them reminds him that he'll never get to see his biological parents, even though he got to see them for a limited time as well as getting his dad's armor. He looked at them sadly as the family talked happily, his brother noticed this.
"Hey bro, you ok?"
Cinder sighed and shook his head. The dragonet looks at Kai and Nya and their parents, Cole notices what the issue is.
"It's reminding you of your parents?"
"Yes… you guys get to see your parents, with them two getting to see their parents since being kids. It's just… I wonder how things would have happened if I wasn't sent here and hatched there with my parents." Cinder whined softly but then felt his men being rubbed.
"Hey, it doesn't matter if you haven't seen them even if you got to see them for a brief time. The parchment on your egg said there was a battle going on and didn't want you to get killed. They loved you and probably are hurting as well for this but they cared about your safety and that's their highest priority." Cole expressed and Cinder nodded silently and looked at his bracelets.
"Maybe there's a way for you to go back and see them?" The black ninja suggested
"How? I don't think there's a way to do so? Even though I haven't learned how to realm hop yet from Ultra. Plus I don't even know where they're at."
"I see your point. But there's got to be a way." Cole noted
"Well for now let's put this on the back burner ok?" Cinder said
"Ok."

A few months after the battle Cinder was flying over a forest near the Temple. He was taking a break from training and went flying, with his foster uncle coming along hanging onto two of his horns. A few days ago Kai and Nya's parents had left the Temple to go back to their shop. They want to continue making armor and weapons to customers who need them for defensive purposes. Cinder has talked to them about coming over to make armor for them and has agreed to do so.
Now the team was either doing training, scout missions, or relaxing. The dragonet was practicing his Dragon Time with Jay and Nya to learn to dodge while using it. Now he was just flying through the air enjoying the breeze in his face, just hearing the beats his wings create as he flew.
"Ahhhhh… What a day is it, right Uncle Sparx?"
"Yep, great day to relax on your back while you fly kiddo."
Cinder huffs in exasperation but smiles at his uncle's antics.
"At least there's someone that came from where I was born from."
Cinder continues flying through the sky as he heads towards the forest not far from the Temple. He then lands with a small thud within the trees and trek his way through. He looks around as the trees sway from the breeze with a stream flowing nearby. The dragonet trek further through the woods as birds chirp from branches and frogs croaked on rocks. Sparx told the dragonet of creatures he saw back in the swamp he was raised with Cinder's dad. Soon they reached a clearing to see a group of deer grazing grass on the other side, not seeing the dragonet walking in. Cinder sat down on his haunches and watched the deer eat thinking about what mistakes he made in training to work on as the breeze went through his mane as his uncle dozed. Suddenly his communicator came to life, startling his uncle's nap and the deer as they took off running when seeing the dragonet.
"Bro you heard me?"
"Yeah I heard ya. What's going on?" Cinder asked as his uncle grumbled
"Zane's Falcon detector went off. It showed us a group of gangsters working with a familiar enemy: Clouse."
"By the Ancestors, what's he up to this time?"
"We don't know, but it seems he got a scroll of some sort. We don't know what's in it." Cole finished
"Ok, give me the coordinations. I'll meet up with you guys there." Cinder said and ended the communication. He then ran towards the forest's edge, jumped up, and his wings flapped as he took to the skies, his uncle hanging on.

Cinder glides down to where a crop of rocks stood in the plains. He landed with a soft thud to the ground and padded over to where the others were waiting. Lloyd has devised a surprise attack on Clouse and the gangsters who were 15 minutes away from their location. The dragonet walks over to the others and greets them with a serious look on his face.
"Alright, what's the update on Clouse Zane?"
"Clouse is approaching with a group of gangsters in their vehicles, armed with guns to shoot if needed to defend."
"Ok? Do we know why he has that scroll?" Cinder question the Nindroid
"From what the historian, who was working that day, says that tne scroll has a spell embedded in it."
"A spell? What does it do?"
"It said the spell was some sort of teleport spell, but doesn't know what the results are if said spell was spoken."
"I see."
"Guys! I see them coming!" Jay exclaimed and Lloyd nodded to the blue ninja.
"Alright then, let's get ready." Lloyd said and moved into place for the sneak attack. Soon the convoy was coming fast as it drove by the rocks. Tnen—
"Now!" Lloyd yell
A burst of energy hit one of the vehicles as the ninja went in for the attack . Clouse glared as he saw them.
"The Ninja!? Attack them!"
The gangsters started shooting at them, but the team dodged and deflected the bullets. Zane and Jay used their powers to freeze or electrocute the men, while Cole and Cinder used their strength and earth to flip a couple of the trucks onto their sides. Kai and Nya followed Lloyd towards Clouse to get to the scroll. Cinder huffed in annoyance by how all these gangsters were being. Looking over he could see that Lloyd, Kai, and Nya were having trouble trying to get Clouse. He looked at the situation but then saw Clouse started chanting from the scroll. Knowing that he needs to stop the ghost sorcerer from finishing his chant.
"Uncle, hang on tight."
Sparx held on tight as the dragonet used a shadow to travel and emerge out behind the sorcerer. Then he used lightning on the ghost, but Clouse dodged it. He glares at the dragonet but smirks.
"Hehe… you'll do."
"Huh?" Cinder was confused but then his body froze up. He panicked and tried to move but couldn't.
"What in Ninjago!? Why can't I move?"
Clouse laughs evilly at the frozen dragonwt.
"You're the one that caused the downfall of my master and seeing as I have you immobilized, I think this spell will work beautifully with you as my subject."
Clouse then resumes the chanting, while the dragonet tries to escape but it is futile. Meanwhile the others have taken down all the gangsters and were coming up to stop the sorcerer's chant as they saw their teammate trapped by the ghost. They tried their best to fight Clouse to get the scroll, however Clouse being a ghost allowed him to use his ghostly abilities to keep them from getting to him. Cinder just watches helplessly as the others fight off some possessed vehicles. Fortunately Nya was able to get up to Clouse and the dragonet by going around some of the wreckage of the vehicles while the others kept fighting. Unfortunately for her the sorcerer was able to finish the spell.
"Ah ha ha ha ha! Yes, you Ninja couldn't stop me from finishing the spell. Now you all will suffer the consequences for what you did to my Master!"
Then the sorcerer vanishes as Nya hits him with a water ball as she gets to him. Cinder feels his body being released from being frozen and stretched to get the blood flowing back. He looks at the scene in front of him with all the destruction they did. Cole comes over to see how he feels while Zane looks at the scroll. Lloyd surveyed the damage as well and turned to the dragonet. Cinder just looked at him and warbled in response, but then he felt something in the air. There was a buzzing coming somewhere and the dragonet turned his head back and forward, trying to find the noise.
"Cin? What's wrong?" Cole asked
"I don't know. I can hear a buzzing noise and it's getting louder."
Zane scanned the area and his expression was grim. Then before Zane could respond, a portal opened up behind the dragonet, swirling with colors of purple and gold. Cinder was flabbergasted by this and noticed he's getting pulled in. He moved away from it but was still being pulled towards it and he tried to run. Then he was pulled off from his feet into the air and flew towards the portal.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Hang on bro!" Cole yell as he ran after him. The earth ninja grabbed the dragonet's front feet and dig his feet into the dirt. But Cinder was still getting dragged with Cole now losing his footing. Then the others made a chain to grab the brothers and held on, but then the portal became more powerful and unwilling as everyone clenched their teeth in concentration as they held onto their teammates. Sadly the portal won as with a loud whoosh the ninja team were lifted off their feet and shot into the portal. With Cinder holding his uncle tightly as darkness came over him.

"Ughhhhhhhhhhh….."
Cinder groaned as he woke up. His brain was a little fuzzy from the experience from the portal and tried to regain focus. After a few minutes he was able to shake the fuzziness and look around at his surroundings. He was lying in a wooded area compared to the plains he and the others were in, but there was nothing different here. He could see normal trees here, but there was other fungus and plants, even huge mushrooms growing alongside the trees.
"Whoa…"
Cinder listened to the noises around him and looked around.
"Where in Ninjago am I?"
"Uhhhhh…"
Cinder turned his head to the noise and his eyes widened. A few feet in front of him were 6 other dragons, each in coloration of his brother and friends. His brother's body scales were black with an orange underbelly with silver horns and a scythe tail blade like his own. Zane's body was a dark silver with a white underbelly, his horns curling back and almost robotic to what he is. The dragonet then looked at Kai and Nya, their draconian body structures looking similar but different in color and other traits. Kai, a red with an orange underbelly with his iconic spiky hair there and Nya, a dark red with a light blue underbelly. Her body structure was similar to a water dragon, being Master of Water. Jay was next to Nya as his body being a blue with bright yellow underbelly and silver horns, and finally Lloyd. His body structure was a mix of eastern and western dragon, thanks to part of his heritage of being the grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master. His body was a dark green with a bright green underbelly and golden horns that were deer-like. His blonde hair ran along the entirety of his spine with a big tuft of hair at the end of his tail. Cinder was astonished.
"What in Ninjago!? What just happened? Why are the others dragons? Just what did that sorcerer do?"
"Uhhhhhhhhh…"
The dragonet turned to see his adopted uncle on a plant rubbing his head. Cinder walked over to him to see if he's ok.
"You ok uncle?"
"Yeah, I'm good kiddo. I hope you and the others are…" the dragonfly trailed off as he looked around astonished
"What?" Cinder questioned
"I know where we landed kiddo."
"Huh?" Cinder was confused
"Kiddo, we're home."
Cinder's mind regained what his uncle said and eyes widened in astonishment.
"You mean…?"
"Yep."
"Wow…" Cinder was amazed. Clouse's spell somehow took him and the others to his home world. But was still confused about the others' new forms. "Probably to blend in with the civilians here." He thought. But the dragnet looked at the surrounding vegetation, seeing things that are strange to him but possible to blend in Ninjago. As he looked at the trees and giant mushrooms there was a rustle in the bushes on the other side of the clearing. Cinder stood under a shaded tree, to darken his scales, still and silent as he stared at the bushes as they continued rustling. Then a few creatures came out of the bushes, all of them Cinder never seen before. They were a cross between an eagle and lion. Their feathers are snow white, claws yellow, and their fur a light gray. All of them were wearing armor that's a dark gray with yellow accents, reminding the dragonet of stormy clouds with bolts of lightning out. Also all of them were carrying weapons as well too, mostly spears except for one who was carrying a whip. Seeing their expressions he could tell that these guys aren't friendly and stayed calm but internally was worried. The creature with the whip spoke up.
""Halt! State who you are dragon!"
"Uhh… sorry? But who are you?" Cinder asked
"I ask you first dragon! Answer or else you'll be executed!"
Cinder growled
"I'm not going to say anything, it's my business and you shouldn't be asking." Cinder said as he moved forward from the shadows of the trees and revealed himself. The leader's eyes widen upon seeing the dragonet and smiles evilly.
"Well, well, well, a Purple Dragon. Haven't seen one since the war, and the only one awake. Your comparisons aren't going to help you against us."
Cnder growled as Sparx flew up next to the dragonet. The leader's smile grew larger.
"And not only that, the famous dragonfly of Avalar Sparx is here as well! I heard you vanish a year ago and people were wondering where you went. But here you are, along with a Purple Dragon as well too!"
"Hmph, surprise why I am with the kid. Because I'm amazed by your intelligence to notice it." Sparx snorted
The leader was puzzled by this but then saw the jewelry on the dragonet, recognizing who they belonged to and grinned.
"Oh? You mean that jewelry?"
Cinder looked at his uncle in annoyance and grumbled. The leader cackled.
"That jewelry… that was worn by the "Terror of the Skies". Very interesting that you're wearing it which means…" The leader trailed and Cinder watched the creatures behind the leader move around and surrounding him and the unconscious ninja.
"You're her and the Purple Dragon's child ."
Cinder took a battle stance and growled, but was panicking internally. He was thinking of a plan to get them away from the others. But there was no way he could get his teammates out of here on his own. But he can take only 2, so looking at his teammates he quickly grabbed Lloyd and Nya. Grabbing his Uncle he took off running through the trees and mushrooms, the creatures behind him shouting as he ran.

"Ok, I… think we… lost them." Cinder said quietly as he panted from running and adrenaline. He looked out of their hiding spot, seeing the creatures past them without stopping where his tracks went. He sighed and wondered why destiny puts a wrench in his life but shooks it off. Turning he looked at the two unconscious dragons, then looked at his uncle.
"Uncle, what in Ninjago was that all about?"
"I don't know, kiddo. Never seen those guys before, but they looked like trouble to me."
"Hmm… it still leaves us at square one of what they are."
Silence took over the area as the two looked around, wary of being spotted. But after an hour Cinder spoke up.
"We should get moving."
"Are you sure? What about them two?" Sparx points at Lloyd and Nya.
"We don't know if they'll wake up?" Cinder said but was interrupted by two groans and looked to see the two transformed ninja waking up. He watched them open their eyes as their minds register when seeing the trees.
"Uuuuugh… what in Ninjago? Where are we?" Lloyd said
"Last thing I remember was trying to save Cinder and getting pulled into that vortex…" Nya groaned
"I'm ok, you two, but Clouse's spell did more than just teleport us."
Lloyd and Nya looked confused until they saw themselves and squeaked in surprise. Cinder shushes them.
"Quiet!"
The two shut up as Cinder grumbled in annoyance and watched as the two looked at their bodies in astonishment. Nya was touching her tail fin while Lloyd was feeling his horns. The dragonet's annoyance faded as he chuckled at their reaction but quieted down. The two dragons looked at him.
"Cin? What in Ninjago happened?" Lloyd asked
"And where are we? And where are the others? Are they also dragons as well?"
Cinder sighed
"Seems like Clouse's spell teleports us to a place I'll never expect."
The two dragons looked at each other and propped the purple dragonet to explain. He did, explaining his surprise of their changed forms, the ordeal with the creatures, and finding out where they're at and the escape from the creatures with the two.
"So… we're in your home world?" Nya said flabbergasted
"And a race of beings that took the others?" Lloyd questioned and looked at his wings. "Now we're lost in these woods."
"Swamps actually." Sparx said
"Swamps? How can you tell?" Lloyd said puzzled and the dragonfly smirked
"Because I recognize this area. We're not far from where I was raised."
"Wait, you mean…" Cinder trailed as he realized what his uncle was saying.
"Yep! We're not far from my parents' home. Now come on! We'll be safe there for the time being from those flying bird cat things."
The three dragons and dragonfly began to trek through the mush and branches quietly, knowing what would happen to the four remaining ninja. However, with the two ninja being in completely different bodies they weren't as elegant as Cinder as they stumbled and tripped over their legs, wings, and tail. But with Cinder's help they soon learned how to walk and keep their wings and tails up. After jumping over small puddles of toxic water and avoiding Frog Weed, plants with frog-like attributes, and a pitcher plant mouth, and Blub Spiders, spider-like creatures, large mushrooms on the ground surrounded by leaf-life legs, moving slightly. Cinder heard his Uncle say about getting stuck in Frog Weeds a lot and his dad had to save him from them. The dragonet looked at the surrounding trees and foliage, amazed at the strange plant life. The group then came up to a river, its water was a silver color and flowed gently in its current. His uncle told him that this river was the one that carried his dad's egg until his parents found him.
The four then followed along the Silver River as they traverse along its banks. As they did the sun was beginning to set, its yellow glow going to an orange as it descended away from the realm. Cinder can see his uncle was nervous and wonders why but didn't want to probe it. But with him being the only capable dragon that can fight they need to find shelter before it gets dark. But then he sees tons of lights up ahead and warbled in curiosity. His uncle smiled.
"Ah ha! We're almost there! Come on you three!"
The three dragons quickened their pace as the dragonfly flew ahead of them. Soon his uncle came up to the group of dragonflies chatting in the middle of the glowing lights of the village and were surprised by his appearance.
"Sparx!?" A blue dragonfly said flabbergasted
"Oh my goodness! It is you!" A green dragonfly said happily
"Where have you been man? You've been missing for a year." A pink dragonfly questioned
"Well Swift, Rae, and Sadie, I was taken by some group while sleeping and was in a different place from here, like a different world. Actually saw things that brought back some memories with me and my brother while there." Sparx said and the others oh'ed and ah'd at his tale. Then two more voices spoke up.
"Sparx?"
Cinder watched as two more dragonflies flew over to his uncle. One was male glowing a faded blue and the other, a female glowing a faded light brown. They fluttered over to the gold dragonfly and were smiling as well as Sparx.
"Sparx?" The blue dragonfly said with happiness
"Mom! Dad! It's been a year since I last saw you." Sparx said and hugs them
"It has indeed been son. Now you're back safe and sound." The blue dragonfly said relieved and Sparx nodded but remembered the three dragons and let go.
"Oh! I forgot, I didn't come here alone. I found someone while I was "missing"."
"Oh? Who are they?" The light brown dragonfly asked
"Of course! Come out you three!" Sparx called
Cinder looks at Lloyd and Nya, motioning them to go first. Lloyd went first, allowing his forest green scale pattern to the dragonflies, who oohed. But then they all looked amazed when Nya came out, her aquatic body contrasted against Lloyd's. Sparx spoke up.
"These two are Lloyd and Nya."
"Hello."
"Hhhi…"
"Oh, these two look amazing, son. I can see that these two looked beautiful, it's that what you want us to see?" The light brown dragonfly said curiously and Sparx chuckled.
"Nope, there's one more. But, you might recognize him from his looks from someone."
Cinder sighed and came out, and as he did both dragonflies' eyes widened in shock as they saw him. The others all whisper in astonishment of the dragonet.
"Oh my goodness." The blue dragonfly said
"Sparx… is this…" the light brown dragonfly whispered and Sparx
"Hm hmm. Mom, Dad, this is Cinder, Spyro's kid."
Both dragonflies flutter over to the purple dragonet and examine him. Looking at what traits he got from his parents. The light brown dragonfly spoke up.
"I can see our Spyro in you, with your horns and scales but I can see your mother in you as well from your markings and tail." She said and smiled softly when seeing his mother's jewelry. "I can also see you're wearing her jewelry as well."
Cinder warbled shyly
"Hehe, thanks uhh… What's your name?"
"Oh! So sorry dear, my name's Nina and the blue dragonfly is Flash." Nina said and Flash chuckled
"Or you can call us grandpa and grandma if you want?" He said making the dragonet smile
"Ok."
"Well, it's getting a bit late. I think you all need to rest, you look like you're going to drop if you go to sleep." Nina smiled
Cinder smiled but yawned as he could feel his body was struggling to stay up. So he, Lloyd, and Nya followed the three dragonflies over to a tree near the river and lay around it. Each dragon curled up into a ball as they hit ready to sleep. He then felt his grandma giving him a kiss.
"Goodnight grandson." Nina said
"Goodnight as well to you too grandma, grandpa." Cinder said as he closed his eyes and began to fall asleep. Lloyd and Nya following suit. While his uncle went up to his old home to sleep.

While the three ninjas were sleeping peacefully in a peaceful and quiet swamp, the remaining four weren't so lucky. As they were captured and taken to the leader of the bird/cat hybrids.

A/N: First part of the crossover is here! Also... HAPPY CYNDER COMMUNITY DAY! This is the day when A New Beginning was made and Cynder was created, however being over the Malefor's control to then being a Hero to the Realms even thought her past makes the civilians with scorn and disdain of her rein.
I'm 100% loved her so much as I grew up with the Trilogy (not classic trilogy). She was pretty interesting of her story and abilities that I appreciate the devs did thud, even thought higher heads didn't want this, im still amazed and happy that we got this.
Now, I'm going to finally played DotD on my PS2 tonight.
