Drabble One-
Johnny Zacchara sat on the beach he had just crashed on, Johnny had been swimming in the harbor since he had broken out of Pentonville and at some point he'd hit the Pacific. Johnny was exhausted but, he couldn't spend another moment living his life in that prison.
"Maybe you should have thought about that before you snapped, Zacchara." Johnny mutters to himself, taking his shoes off to feel the sand between his toes.
"Johnny Zacchara, did you forget what you promised me all those years ago?" Johnny could have named that voice in his sleep, sometimes it was still the same voice that tortured him in his sleep. Johnny could never forget that voice. Standing in front of him was Lulu Spencer-Falconeri in a long flowing white dress, her blonde hair as wavy as he remembered it.
"You're not really here, are you?" Johnny looked at her in dismay, her figure was glowing much more than it should.
"No, I'm in limbo. I'm laying in a hospital bed right now, waiting on a liver transplant. I don't have much time, Johnny. My days are numbered, I can feel myself slipping away. I've been in a coma since 2020. I had to come to you somehow, to let you know that I don't blame you. I know you're still hard on yourself for what happened between you and Maxie. It's okay to let it go. If I do pass away, I don't want you to do anything harsh especially to yourself. Being with you was the best experience of my life, you are the love of my life. I only wish we hadn't wasted so much time." There was a sad tint to Lulu's smile.
"You're dying? Why doesn't the hospital give you a damn liver? There's gotta be a million of those lying around. Lulu, you're going to make it through this. I don't want you to think like that, you're stronger than you give yourself credit for. You're going to live until 100. I'm going to turn myself back into prison, for you." Johnny knew as much as he didn't want to go back, this is what Lulu would want for him. Johnny had to pay for the lives he had taken.
"There's my Johnny, I love you. I always want you to remember that." With those parting words, Johnny was alone again. Johnny made his way back to Port Charles and got tested to see if he was a match for Lulu, it turned out he was and he was preparing for surgery.
"Johnny, do you have a minute?" Laura Collins smiled, poking her head into his doorway.
"Always." Johnny smiled, he had always liked Laura.
"You don't know how happy I am that you're doing this for my daughter, you must really love her. A mother tried to never play favorites but, I always preferred you over Dante. As Mayor of Port Charles, I wanted to offer you a pardon of all the crimes against you. I want you and my daughter to have a chance." Laura stepped into the room, shutting the door.
"Laura, you have no idea how much that means to me. I would give anything to be with your daughter again." Johnny was touched.
"I'll make it happen, good luck in surgery." Laura smiled exiting the room, Dr. Finn wheeled him back to the operating room and they put him under. When Johnny woke up, Lulu was blinking her eyes awake in the bed beside him.
"Lulu?" He asked.
"What are you doing here?" Lulu blinked again.
"Your liver was shutting down, I was a match so the doctors operated. You've been in a coma." Johnny explained, it was normal for people to be confused after all she'd been through.
"Johnny, I can't believe you did that for me." Lulu was touched, reaching over to squeeze his hand.
"Of course I did, you're the love of my life." Johnny simply says.
"I guess this means you have to go." Lulu frowned.
"Your mom pardoned me, I'm all yours." Johnny smiled over at her.
"Finally, you have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that."
