Saki groaned as a faint ray of sunlight touched his eyes. He hated mornings, but he had to cope. The Narehate felt Ruby stir behind him. "Maaa, time to wake up Lil' Rose." He said getting up. Ruby groaned.

"Five more minutes, Mr. Hollow." The abyss' only human resident groaned out. "Nope, we have initiation." Saki said. when Ruby didn't move. The Narehate sighed. "Maaa, have it your way." He said approaching the Rose's prone form

Yang and Sapphire followed not too long after Saki and sweat dropped at what they saw. Mr. Hollow was sitting on their sister who was now doing push-ups. "Do we even want to know?" Sapphire asked.

"She didn't get up when I reminded her about initiation so she's doing three sets of 50 push-ups." One of Yang's eyebrows shot up. "With a 180-pound Narehate on her back?" she asked scoffing.

"We'll join you once her punishment's done." Saki said as Ruby switched to using only her left hand for her second set of push-ups . Yang and Sapphire nodded before departing.

LATER

"Maa, what have we learned?" Saki asked smiling. "Get up when told to when it's something important." Ruby groaned out popping some cricks in her back. "Good." The Narehate said continuing to wear his smile before they approached Ruby's sisters.

"Ugh, you sound like our moms and dad, yang." Sapphire complained. "What does 'coming out of my shell' have to do with growing up. I drink milk!" Ruby scoffed alerting the sisters of her and Saki's arrival.

"Drinking milk doesn't make you grow, Sapphire. It strengthens your bones." She said. "That and what Yang means is for you to grow as an individual." Saki said.

Sapphire frowned at her and Mr. Hollow's words. "So, what'll we do for teams?" she asked, changing the subject. "Personally, I hope I'm with you two." Ruby said wanting to know more about her sisters' lives during her stay in the abyss.

"Maa, I have a feeling that it won't be that easy." Saki said making the sisters look at him. "Ozpin most likely has a plan set out for teams." Ruby nodded.

"Also Yang," the Narehate began to say. The blonde brawler looked at him. "I'm 215 pounds, not 180." This fact caused Yang's eyes to widen in shock and mouth to open slightly. She looked at ruby.

The abyss' residential Rose smirked before flexing a single arm and the buxom blonde whistled. While hidden by the grey turtleneck she wore, Yang could see that Ruby had some serious muscle on her.

Unaware to the four, Blake had been watching them whilst reading. When Ruby flexed her arm, she dropped her book. 'Dear Oum.' The ravenette thought with a blush whilst hiding. "If her arms are like that… then what are her… No, bad Blake. Now's not the time to be staring."

"Maa, are you going to stand there or are you going to join us?" came Saki's voice making the poor girl jump. "Mr. Hollow! Please don't do that!" Blake pleaded. "Maa, I'm surprised you didn't hear me coming with your ears." The Narehate said confusing the girl.

"Of course not. I couldn't hear you due to me being human." she said. Saki narrowed his eyes. "I meant the ones you have hidden within that bow of yours." He whispered crossing his arms while Blake panicked. How'd he know?!

"How'd you know that I was a Faunus?" she whispered in shock. "Your scent." Saki said making Blake blush. "and the fact that your bow twitches at the littlest sound."

It was at that point Professor Goodwitch's voice spoke up. "Would all first-year students head to the cliffs over emerald forest for initiation. Thank you." Saki smirked while Blake began to depart.

"By the way Blake," the Narehate said gaining the secret Faunus' attention. "Ruby's torso and thighs are just as muscular." Saki gave Blake a teasing grin.

Blake's face burned a cherry red before she rushed out to prevent Ruby and her sisters from seeing her nose bleed. "Maa, all too easy." Saki said chuckling.

Everyone stared at the strange sight. Saki was hitching a ride on Ruby's back. Evidently, the two refused to be paired with anyone else so they would be launched from the same pad.

Thankfully, the pad could support them both. All it took was a threat to shoot Ozpin in the knees to allow this to happen much to Goodwitch's displeasure.

LATER AT THE RUINS

"We have a King Taiju!" Ren said. Just as the black colored head was about to strike a gunshot rang out. The white colored head didn't have enough time to react as another shot rang out.

"Holy Oum!" Nora, a fellow initiate, exclaimed watching the abyss duo reload. "You guys are good." Saki turned to her "Maa, we appreciate the compliment." He said tipping his helmet while Ruby smiled behind her scarf.

"Good, the gang's all here. Now we can die together." Yang said seeing Ruby, Ren, Nora, and Mr. Hollow join them. "Maa, that kind of attitude would get you killed pretty quickly in the Abyss, Yang." Saki said.

"I know that Mr. Hollow. Just trying to liven up the mood before we die. I'm sure you had some quips in your younger years prior to raising Ruby." Yang said. "Yang! Really!?" Sapphire said in disbelief. Ruby snorted.

"He did actually." The abyss' residential Rose said. "Really?" Yang asked. "You've got to tell me." Saki smirked. "If we make it out of this I just might." The Narehate said.

"Guys, that nevermore's circling back." Jaune said. "It is quite large." Ruby said looking through her binoculars. "Maa, we've faced worse." Saki quipped. "Was that a quip?" Yang asked before the Narehate glanced at her.

"Maybe." He said slyly. "You sly mother-." The blonde began to say before Sapphire spoke up "We don't have to fight them. We just need to get the relics." The azure reaper said.

"She's right." Ruby said lowering her binoculars and facing the group. "Abyss survival 101: when scavenging for food in hostile territory; grab enough edible things you can and scram. Better to run and live to see another day than fight and die." Jaune nodded in agreement

"Snatch and bolt. Great plan." He said. "What if you're discovered?" Weiss asked genuinely intrigued. "Maa, then you run like hell." Saki said. "Then we'll be doing the latter then." Yang said.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS CEREMONY

"Finally due to special circumstances for a beacon first, we'll be having a team of six." Ozpin said. "Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long, Sapphire Rose, and Saki Hollow. Despite two of you not retrieving a chess piece you'll be forming team RWBYSS (Rubies) led by Ruby Rose."

"Maa, atta girl." Saki said seeing the surprise on his charge's face. He knew she was destined for greatness outside the abyss. That was another reason for him pushing her to stay on the surface instead of returning to the abyss

Weiss was shocked that she wasn't leader, but couldn't complain. Ruby seemed to be a competent enough person to lead.

Blake smiled at this before blushing seeing the muscles in Ruby's arms ripple as she lifted the cheering form of Sapphire.

Saki smirked at seeing where Blake was looking but said nothing. The Narehate's ears twitched as Ozpin approached his side. "It's going to be a very interesting year, Mr. Hollow." The headmaster said. Saki turned to him.

"Maa, if anything happens to Ruby, her sister, or teammates. I will hold you responsible." He threatened. "Noted." The headmaster said.

A/N: Chapter 5 done. Next is first day of school. Yes, I'm already having Blake have signs of being in love with ruby more so than the opposite. That's to be expected since we're nowhere near the docks yet.
