Evan Afton sobbed quietly to himself as he lay under a table, praying that the tablecloth would provide enough cover to hide him.

Today was his fifth birthday, and his father had organized a party for him at Fredbear's Diner—a place beloved by all children, except for one.

Evan.

Ever since he saw what happened to his sister Elizabeth, Evan had been absolutely terrified of animatronics. And this had only been further exacerbated by his older brother Michael, who would frequently wear a Foxy mask while tormenting him.

And now, just before Evan's birthday party was supposed to be held, Michael and his three friends were planning on doing something awful to him.

Michael, who wore his favorite Foxy mask, let out a cruel laugh as he lifted the tablecloth Evan was hiding under. "You think you can hide from us, you little brat?"

Afraid of what they were going to do to him, Evan hugged his knees and sobbed uncontrollably.

"Wow, your brother is kind of a baby, isn't he?" Said Carlos, who was wearing a Bonnie mask.

"Yeah, it's hilarious," Michael replied with a grin. Looking at his friends, he continued, "You guys know how much Evan loves Fredbear, right? Well, why don't we help him get a closer look! He will love it!"

"No! Please!" Evan begged.

"Come on, guys! Let's give this little man a lift. He wants to get up close and personal!" Michael said, before grabbing one of Evan's arms, while Carlos grabbed the other.

The two then hoisted the boy into the air and brought him towards the stage, while Michael's other friends, Tyler and Daryl, trailed behind.

As they carried him, Evan kicked and screamed as tears streamed down his cheeks. "No! I don't want to go!"

"You heard the little man! He wants to be even closer!" Michael laughed.

Evan began to hyperventilate as Michael and his friends brought him before the imposing figure of the Fredbear animatronic.

"Hey guys, I think the little man said that he wants to give Fredbear a big kiss!" Michael said with a sinister smile. He and Carlos lifted Evan up towards the animatronic's open mouth. "On three! One… two…"

William Afton then suddenly burst through the doors. "What the hell are you kids doing?! The party doesn't start until—" His eyes then went wide upon seeing that they were about to shove Evan's head into Fredbear's mouth. With a mix of anger and panic, William shouted, "Michael! Put him down now!"

"Oh crap," Carlos said as he helped lower Evan back down to the floor.

As Carlos and Michael let go of Evan, the five year old ran and hid under another table, where he sobbed to himself.

"We're busted," said Tyler.

"Damn, Michael! Your dad looks pissed," said Daryl. "Oh, uh… I think I hear my mom calling for me, so uh… bye." He added before hurriedly taking his leave.

"Yeah, my mom's calling me too," Carlos said before leaving as well.

"Mine too," Tyler said and left along with the others.

"Do you have any idea what you could've done?! What would've happened?!" William shouted furiously as he walked up to Michael.

"What's the big deal, Father? It was just a prank," Michael replied, putting on a brave face.

William struck Michael with the back of his hand with enough force to send the Foxy mask flying and for the boy to fall to the floor with a broken lip.

Michael looked up at his father, absolutely stunned. He may not have been the best father to him, but he had never hit him before. As he rubbed his lip, Michael realized that he was bleeding.

"Just a prank?! Just a prank?!" William grabbed Michael by the collar and then pointed at Fredbear. "These animatronics clamp down when exposed to moisture! If I hadn't walked in when I did, Evan's head would've been crushed! He would've died!"

Shocked by this revelation, Michael's mouth was agape. "F-Father, I-I-I didn't think—"

"That's right, boy! You didn't think! You never do!" William shouted before dropping Michael onto the floor with a thud.

William turned around to look for Evan, and upon spotting the five year old lying under a table and crying, he walked over to him. He then knelt down, reached out, and pulled the boy into a hug. Evan leaned into his father, burying his face in his shoulder as he continued to sob.

"Shh, shh. It's okay now," William said softly as he stroked Evan's hair. Tears then began to trickle down his cheeks as well. "Evan, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for not being there for you when you needed me. God… If I hadn't come when I did…" William sobbed. "I couldn't bear to lose you too."

Rubbing his bloodied lip, Michael watched the two with a frown.
