We landed just in the nick of time. As Drgonite helped me remove Ash, Misty, and Brock from Gyarados's back, I noticed the storm had vanished. It seemed to swirl all around the sea, except for this island. Ash, Misty, and Brock all began coughing and started to get up. The moment they did, they all saw the furious look on my face.

"Thanks for saving us," Ash said nervously. I, however, was in no mood for gratitude. "Are you three out of your minds!" I yelled. "You three are stupid enough to think a Squirtle and a Staryu are strong enough to save you in that typhoon!". The three of them didn't respond. They just hung their heads in shame. "When we get back to the mainland, you can kiss your trainer's license goodbye!" I said furiously at Ash. "And you two!" I turned to Misty and Brock. "Your gym charters are gone! The three of you have shown me beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are not mature or responsible enough to be Pokémon trainers!".

I was so mad I didn't notice the woman walking up behind me. "My master bids you welcome to New Island. Kindly present your invitation," she said flatly. I looked at her face, and something told me I knew her. Ash and his friends looked too defeated to do anything, and I thought maybe I was harsh on them. "Ash, give her your invitation," I sighed.

Uhh, here it is Miss," Ash said. He handed her his invitation and as it played its pre-recorded message, suddenly it hit me and Brock. "Joy?" I ask curiously. She gave me a blank look but Brock spoke up. "I knew I recognized that face! Aren't you the nurse who is missing from the Pokémon Center?" He asked. She continued to look at us blankly as if she were in a trance, then finally she spoke again. "l fear you are mistaken. I've always dwelt on this island and been in the service of my master. Please, come this way. My master awaits your arrival." She said in her flat tone, turned on her heel, and began walking back to the building. Ash, Misty, and Brock all looked at me just as confused as I did them. Silently we all agreed and followed.

We walked for about 10 minutes along a spillway, then up an enormous set of stairs to a giant set of doors. "With you here, all trainers worthy of an audience with my master are present." The woman said as the doors slowly swung open. Inside, I could see only the three trainers that left the wharf before I could stop them. "There's only three of them," Brock said confused. "Are we waiting for the others?" Misty asked looking back at the woman. "Only trainers capable of braving the storm are worthy in my master's eyes," She replied flatly. "Wait, are you saying that storm was some kind of test?" I asked confused. "Please release your Pokémon

from their Pokéballs and join the others. It won't be long before my master's intentions are made clear" She said. She departed into the shadows leaving the four of us to join the rest.

Ash, Misty, and Brock released their Pokémon and walked into the giant sitting room, but something didn't feel right to me. What did she mean by "His intentions would soon be made clear", weren't we here to battle with the supposed "World's greatest Pokémon Master? I decided against releasing my Pokémon for now but I joined the rest of the trainers nonetheless. "What took you guys so long? I heard a cocky voice call out. Sitting there was the trainer with the Pidgeot I'd tried to stop. "How'd you get here?" Ash asked. "It was easy. Hurricane winds are a breeze for Pidgeot here" He smirked. "Yeah? Well, that doesn't change the fact that what you did was stupid and reckless" I said firmly. He glared at me but smirked again and motioned to his Pokémon over by themselves. "Guys, say hello. Those are my Pokémon" He said. I saw in addition to Pidgeot, he had a Sandslash, Scyther, Hitmonlee, Venusaur, and Ryhorn.

"It was no problem getting through that storm. I rode over on Gyarados back" another voice called out. I looked and saw it was the kid on the Gyarados that blew me off. "Yeah? Well what would have happened if Gyarados got swept up in a rogue wave? Think you can hold your breath forever smart guy?" I asked annoyed. He smirked at me and nodded. "Almost all my Pokémon are water type, besides, I made it didn't I?" He popped back motioning to his Gyarados, Seadra Nidoqueen, Golduck, Tentacruel, and Vaporeon. "You're using blind luck to justify putting your Pokémon in mortal danger! Everyone in this room is on paper-thin ice so don't test me!" I yelled at him wiping the smirk from his face.

A few seconds later, I heard a familiar voice to my right. "Oh, come on, don't get bent out of shape. You haven't met my Pokémon over there" Said the girl who rode the Dewgong. I looked over and saw her collection, her Dewgong, Wigglytuff, Blastoise, Vileplume, Ninetails, and Rapidash. "Look, it's my job to keep kids like you safe. What you six did was reckless, arrogant, and downright stupid. I have no choice but to bring all of you up on disciplinary actions, to be determined at my discretion. I suggest you all live it up while you're here because this might very well be the last Pokémon battle of your careers" I said. I looked around at all of them, some were hurt, others were furious, and the rest just seemed to feel stupid for what they did. I tried to speak again but I was cut off by the strange woman's voice echoing out across the room.

"You are about to meet my master. The time has come to encounter the greatest Pokémon Master on earth" She said. When she finished, the lights went out except for a bright blue one shining down from the spiraled pillar in the center of the room. We heard a mechanical door open and suddenly, descending from the top of the pillar through its hollow center was what looked like a Pokémon, though it wasn't any Pokémon I'd ever encountered in my nearly two-decade-long career. "What's that?" I heard the girl Neesha ask. "Is that a...Pokémon?" Ash asked just as stunned. When it reached the floor, the woman spoke again. "Yes. The worlds greatest Pokémon Master is also the strongest Pokémon on earth. This is the ruler of New Island and soon the whole world. Mewtwo"
