Prologue

Sage and Harry Potter, that's who we are, made our way into our room in the small house on Privet Drive, talking to each other. we only had ourselves. Our cousin Dudley was often a bully to us, making us feel small and a burden. But he wasn't as bad as our aunt and uncle. Aunt Petunia was our mother's sister and was often the instigator for the many fights with me. We never really knew why we were treated so differently by our aunt and uncle.

I had often wondered if it was because I looked so much like our mother, Lily. Harry was often treated worse and most of the time locked in the cupboard under the stairs. That all changed when we turned 11. It was Dudley's birthday, the only birthday they celebrated, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon were making Dudley's birthday a big deal like always and boasting about the zoo trip. When all of a sudden things got quite.

Uncle Vernon was the master at making things all about him and his family, they quickly moved on to the zoo trip, putting us kids in the car. Harry and I got out first and Dudley followed making noise as he left the car. Harry and I got bored with the trip and decided to go see the snakes and lizards exhibit. Dudley decided to be an idiot and tried to get the snake to move, pushing my brother out of the way. Before I even knew what happened the glass was gone and Dudley was in the snakes encloser.

"Sorry about him." Harry apologized to the snake.

As if the snake heard him, it nodded and slithered out a thanks. Two seconds and it was gone in a flash. Aunt Petunia ended up looking right at Dudley and screaming which promptly ended our trip to the zoo. Uncle Vernon was mad. That "trick" landed Harry in cupboard jail for a week with no food.

Two weeks later

Just as we were getting ready to spend our birthday together, Harry and I see owls sitting on Uncle Vernon's car. Noting how unusual it was we ran to the front door excited to see where this could possibly take us. Harry and I pick up the mail and notice the letters addressed to us.

This was new. Harry and I had never had mail before. Just as we began to open our letters, Uncle Vernon Swiped them from us and read the letters. Uncle Vernon began freaking out and promptly threw them in the trash. That made Aunt Petunia upset. After that day, it was peaceful for while. Then, it happened, we ended up getting thousands of letters. Uncle Vernon furiously made us move and we spent the day before our birthday on a tiny island in the middle of night, Harry and I were up and saying Happy Birthday to each other, when we heard a bang on our door. It got louder and louder as if the whole island was going to explode. The door burst open and fell to the floor. In walks a very big man. He looks to be the size of a giant. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia ran down the stairs in shock.

"Sorry about that." The man grumbles as he picks the door back and puts it in place.

"I demand that you leave at once, sir! You are breaking and entering" Uncle Vernon said raising the gun at the man.

"Dry Up Dursley, you great prune." The man grabbed the tip of his gun and pointing it upwards as Uncle Vernon fired. The man noticed Dudley and started speaking to him "Mind, I haven't since you two were babies, Harry and Sage. But yer a bit more along than I would have expected."

Dudley spoke up "I... I... I'm not Harry" He stuttered out.

Harry and I stepped forward looking in bewilderment. "I am."

"Well of course you are! Got somethin' for ya both. 'fraid I might have sat on it at some point, but I imagine it'll taste fine just the same." Harry took the box from him and opened it up. Harry and I lit up with excitement seeing the birthday cake with the writing on it that saysHAPPEE BIRTHDAE HARRY AND SAGE. "Baked it myself, words and all."

"Thank you." We both said quietly.

"It's not everyday that yer young man and woman turns 11, now is it? Aye?"

Harry puts the box down and turns to the man now sitting on the couch. "Excuse me. who are you?"

"Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. O' course, yeh'll know all about Hogwarts." Hagrid states with some finality

"Sorry, no we do not." Harry says to Hagrid.

"No? Blimey, Harry and Sage, didn't you ever wonder where yer mum and dad learnt it all?"

Harry and I looked at each other very confused "Learnt what?"

"Yer a wizard and a witch, Harry and Sage."

"We're what?"

"A Wizard and Witch. And thumping good ones. I'd wager, once yer trained up a little."

"No you've made a mistake. I mean we can't be those things they don't exist."

"Well, did you ever make anything happen? Anything you couldn't explain when you were angry or scared?" Hagrid runs his hand through his pockets and grabs the mysterious letters that had once flown through our living room.

Dear Mr. and Miss Potter,

we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry.

Uncle Vernon spoke up fuming "They will not be going, I tell you! We swore when we took them in, we'd put a stop to all this rubbish."

"You knew? You knew all along and you never told us?"

"Of course we knew. How could you both not be? My perfect sister being who she was. Oh, my mother and father were so proud the day she got her letter. "We have a witch in the family isn't it wonderful." I was the only one to see her what she was. A Freak! And then she met that Potter. And then she had you two, and I knew you both would be the same. Just as strange, just as... abnormal. and then, if you please, she went and got herself blown up' and we got landed with the two of you." Aunt Petunia angrily stated.

Harry stood up and screamed "Blown up? You told us our parents died in a car crash?"

"A car cash? A car crash killed Lily and James Potter?!" Hagrid yelled outraged.

"We had to say something" Aunt Petunia argued.

As they were arguing I took notice of Dudley taking our birthday cake. Instead of saying something I waited to see if someone else would notice.

"They will not be going!"

"Oh-ho-ho, and I suppose a great muggle like yerself's goin' to stop them, are yeh?"

We looked at Hagrid questioningly "Muggle?"

Hagrid turned to us calmly "Non-magic folk, These two had their names down since the day they were born! They are going to the finest school of witchcraft and wizardry in the world. and they'll be under the finest headmaster that Hogwarts has ever seen: Albus Dumbledore."

"I will not pay to have some crackpot old fool teach them magic tricks"

"NEVER. INSULT. ALBUS DUMBLEDORE. IN FRONT OF ME." Hagrid threatened Uncle Vernon.

Hagrid finally noticed Dudley stuffing his face with our birthday cake. Aiming the umbrella in his hand at Dudley's butt. Suddenly a tail starts to grow, causing Dudley to panic and Harry and I to be huddled close to Hagrid.

"I'd appreciate it if you both didn't tell anyone at Hogwarts about that. Strictly speaking, I'm not allowed to do magic." Hagrid asks us checking his pocket watch. "Oooh, we're a bit behind schedule. Bes' be off. unless you'd rather stay of course."

We made our way to the door, glancing back at the scene unfolding before us, ready to start the new life before us.

SPATWOTD

As the train stopped at the train station, Harry and I looked at each other excitedly. The sign read HOGSMEAD STATION. I guess this is where our new journey begins. As we made our way off the train, we accidentally bumped into someone. A boy with red hair and some robes that were too big for him.

"Oops sorry, didn't mean to bump into you like that." He stammered.

"It's all good, My name is Sage and this is my brother Harry." I politely told him.

"Potter?" He asked curiously.

"Yes." My brother answered.

"I'm Ron, Ron Weasley." The boy said.

"Well nice to meet you Ron."

Once we were in the boats, Ron and Harry kept chatting away and I sat in silence. not knowing what was going to happen when we arrived at Hogwarts. All the thoughts in my head were of worry that my brother and I would be separated and that we won't be as close as we are now. Something kept telling me that there was more going on than what we realized. As we walked up the steps of the beautiful castle, I couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding and a longing for friendship.

Just as I was getting to the last step, A blonde boy broke my train of thought. The arrogance was rolling off of him in waves. He was not someone I wanted to get to know, but something felt familiar about him. Shaking off the thought, we were stopped by a old woman and and older man. We were escorted to something called the great hall.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. but before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup." She said looking at everyone.

A boy runs out of the group of students and on the last step is a toad. "Trevor" he screams loudly catching the toad.

As soon as the older lady leaves, the blonde haired boy looks towards us and starts making his way over. "So it's true then, what they were saying on the train. Sage and Harry Potter have come to Hogwarts. This is Crabbe and Goyle. And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." Ron snickered at that part. "Think my name's funny, do you? I've no need to ask yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley. You'll soon find that some wizarding families are better others. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort." He said arrogantly to us.

"Thanks but no thanks Malfoy." I whispered refusing to take his arrogance.

The older lady who had stopped us earlier came back and tapped Malfoy on the shoulder as he glared at Harry and I. "We're ready for you now. Follow me."

As we followed Professor McGonagall through the great hall, there are very long tables and what looks like thousands of students and they are preparing for us.

"All right, will you wait along here please? Before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."

"I have a few start-of-term notices I wish to announce. The first years, please note that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to anyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you."

As we start the sorting ceremony, people are staring at Harry and I like we are arm candy or something.

"Harry Potter." McGonagall called.

My brother walks over to the sorting hat and sits down. It looks like they are having a conversation when the sorting hat yells out "Gryffindor"

"Sage Potter." She calls out.

Feeling nervous I walk over to the seat and sit down as McGonagall puts the hat on my head. The great hall fell completely silent. You could feel the tension rising in anticipation. Everyone waiting to see where Sage Potter, the daughter of Lily and James Potter murdered by Voldemort, was going to be placed.

"Better be... SLYTHERIN"
