Chapter 10 Family reunion

On Trolla Unzo, Ilyne, Montork and Esso were so relieved that Orko was found alive. As was the rest of Trolla. They were amazed he was on Eternia and helping Eternia's champion.

"I heard the playing of Orko's message he saved the life of a prince and became part of the grateful king and queen's royal court," one Trollan said.

"Yes but as court jester?" one of them said.

"I from what he said he enjoys it, he loves cheering up the people in the palace and making them laugh," the first Trollan said. "Not to mention he is helping the current champion fight there, and even helps some of the magic users there," he said. "So he is doing a few things there despite his magic not working right there, he is an inspiration to say the least," he said.

"Yes I know the other ringbearers would be impressed," the second Trollan said.

Meanwhile back at the house where Orko grew up with his parents, aunt, uncle and cousin. "Okay I got the orb ready, we can use it to go to Orko," Snoob said.

"I haven't seen my son in eight years," Ilyne said.

"Yes I wonder how much he has grown since he has disappeared," Unzo said.

"Me too," Montork said.

"I wonder how well he is doing now," Esso said.

"Now are you ready to go?" Snoob asked.

"We are," Ilyne said.

Then they headed to Eternia. Orko was in the garden with Teela and Adam watching them train. He was watching closely. Then a dimension portal opened. "What did you do Orko?" Teela asked when she saw.

"It wasn't me!" Orko said.

Then Orko's parents, uncle, aunt and cousin Snoob came through. "Snoob! Uncle Montork! Aunt Esso! Mom! Dad!" Orko said and hugged them. The six Trollans were all in an embrace.

"I think they are Orko's family," Adam said.

"I recognize Snoob his cousin," Teela said. "But he called the others his uncle, aunt, mom and dad," she said.

"What's going on out here?" Man at arms asked. "What is this a bunch of Orkos?" he asked.

"No there is only one Orko and that is me," Orko said. "I met others with the same name but none of them are like me," he said. "You remember my cousin Snoob," he said.

"Of course," Man at arms said.

"The other's my aunt, uncle and parents," Orko said. "I can wait to introduce all my friends to them and all them to my family," he said.

Everyone at the palace saw Orko's family. "This my uncle Montork and Esso, they are cousin Snoob's parents, and this is my mom and dad," Orko said introducing them. Then Orko turned to his family.

"This is Prince Adam, Teela, Man at arms, King Randor, Queen Marlena, Damien, Andra, Roboto, and Cringer," Orko said. "These are just a few of the friends I made here," he said.

"Is man at arms you actual name?" Unzo asked.

"My name is Duncan, Man at arms is just my title," Man at arms said.

"I am Unzo and this my Ilyne," Unzo said. "We are Orko's parents," he said.

"Thank you so much for giving him a place to stay when he got stranded here, and taking care of him," Ilyne said. "You know as a mother I worry," she said.

"I understand being a mother myself," Marlena said.

"Now Orko let me get a look at you are you eating enough are you getting enough sleep?" Ilyne asked.

"Mom," Orko said sounding annoyed.

Ilyne saw the scar on Orko's arm. "Orko what happened?" Ilyne asked grabbed in his arm.

"I got cut, and it's a big one too," Orko said pulling the rest of the sleeve up. "It goes to the top of my shoulder," he said.

"Who did this too you?" Unzo asked.

"No one," Orko said. "I got it while I was saving prince Adam in the tar swamp I used so much physical and magic force to free him I was thrown and got cut on a large sharp rock," he said. "My wand helped me have the finesse to help free him but due to the damage of the storm it sort of kind of snapped in half," he said.

"It's okay son, wands can be fixed or replaced," Unzo said.

"Well I tried fixing my wand for years but no success," Orko said and showed them his broken wand.

Montork took a look at Orko's wand. "I hate to break this to you Orko but your wand is completely irrepairable," Montork said. "This is a bad break and there are several other stress fractures in it from what happened so repairing the main break would be impossible with out breaking wand further or completely destroying it," he said.

"I should've known," Orko said.

"It's okay son," Unzo said. "You did the right thing and that is all that matters," he said.

"But what am I going to do?" Orko asked. "They don't have wand craftsmen like on Trolla," he said.

"The important thing is we are all here to come to help celebrate your birthday in a few days," Ilyne said.

Adam realized he had been so busy with other things he forgot that Orko's birthday was in a few days.

"Thanks," Orko said.

Adam came into man at arms workshop. He was working on something. "There this should just be about finished," Man at arms said. "There a new set of empty bottles for Orko's potions," he said. "I sure hope he likes it," he said.

"Hey Man at arms is that Orko's present from you?" Adam asked.

"Yes it is," Man at arms said. "I found some new unused bottles in the market and decided to get them for his potions and decided to wrap it for him," he said.

"Amazing," Adam said. "I kind of honestly forgot Orko's birthday was this week and I didn't get him a present," he said. "I have to think of something," he said.

"I am sure you will," Man at arms said.

Then Adam had a thought a bit later. He could get Orko a new wand. But Orko said that Eternia doesn't have wand craftsmen like Trolla does. He decided to go to Trolla. He came up to Snoob.

"Hey Snoob do you still have that orb?" Adam asked.

"Yes I do why?" Snoob asked.

"I want to go to Trolla so I can get Orko a new wand for his birthday since his old one is irrepairable," Adam said.

"Okay I will go with you so you know your way around," Snoob said. So they went to Trolla and Cringer came along. All the Trollans stared at Prince Adam and Cringer. "This is Prince Adam he is Orko's friend from Eternia," Snoob said.

The Trollans were amazed about an Eternia being here. Snoob led Adam to the wand maker's shop. Adam came in with Snoob. "Hey Poki you home?" Snoob called.

Then a Trollan came out. "Hello Snoob," Poki said. "Who is this tall fellow?" he asked.

"I am Prince Adam of Eternia friend of Orko," Adam said. "I want to get a new wand for my friend Orko, you see his wand broke several years ago when he saved me and his uncle who came for a visit said it was irrepairable," he said. "His birthday is this week and I wanted to get him a new wand as a present," he said.

"I see tell you what you can help me make this new wand." Poki said. "We have plenty materials to choose from." he said. "There are different woods to use, we can even use metals too," he said. "There is even different shapes the can be forged into," he said.

"Wow," Adam said. "Let's get to work shall we." he said. Adam selected a sturdy looking wood along with a piece of metal to forge for the top of the wand.

"A combination of materials that can make a very sturdy wand," Poki said with a smile in his voice. "Now let's get work shall we," he said. Then he went right work with Adam at making the wand. "It won't be an easy process to make a wand but it will be worth it." he said.

Adam got ready to go. "Here are some shapes and styles of wand," Poki said showing him "First thing is first you got to whittle the wood," he said. "Just be patient and give it time," he said. "This is how you do it," he said showing him.

"Okay," Adam said and began to whittle down the wood to form the wand. Adam had a shape in mind and got to work. He began to carve down the wand carefully. Adam managed to get a few splinters and nicks and cuts. But he managed to get past it. "Got several band aids on my hands," he said.

"It happens when you make a wand," Poki said. "Looks okay so far but whittle it down a little more slightly." he said. "That way it can be sturdy but light," he said.

"Okay," Adam said. He managed to whittle it down a little more.

"That is very good now we can forge the metal to add to it," Poki said.

"The metal is for a top part," Adam said.

"Ah a decorative wand cap very nice," Poki said. He showed him many molds Adam chose one. Then metal was melted down. Then poured into the mold. Then the metal set and was cooled. Adam opened the mold and removed the cap. Then smoothed it out. Adam added a red gem in the middle of the four point star on it. Then added one red gem at each point of the star.

"Very good," Poki said. "Nice look," he said. "Now we must attach the two pieces together. " he said. Using a special adhesive the cap was placed on. Adam helped hold it in place unit it was dry.

Then came the polishing. Now it was nice and shiny.

It was coming together as the day went on. It took most of the day but the wand was soon complete. "There we go a one of a kind wand." Poki said.

"Thank you so much," Adam said.

"Well you are the one who made it kid I only supervised." Poki said.

Snoob had helped Adam trade some of his Eternia money for Trollan money so he could pay Poki with it. "I hope Orko likes this new wand," Adam said.

"I am sure he will," Snoob said.

The headed back to Eternia. Which gave Adam plenty of time to wrap the present.

Then once back at the palace a few days later it was Orko's birthday and everyone was happy to celebrate.

"Happy birthday Orko!" everyone said.

"Thanks guys," Orko said.

"Here Orko this is for you," Adam said handing it over. "I hope you like it," he said.

Orko opened the present. Orko was in shock when he saw it. "A new wand?" Orko asked.

"I went to Trolla with Snoob to get it made for you," Adam said.

"In fact Adam made it himself and the wand maker supervised it," Snoob said.

"This is an amazing wand," Orko said seeing it. It was an amazingly crafted one too. "I love it, I can hardly believe you made this for me, and went through all that trouble for me," he said.

"I was happy to Orko" Adam said. "You do so much for the rest of us," he said. "After all since your old wand couldn't be fixed and you have been without a wand for nine years," he said. "I thought it was time for you get a replacement wand because you waited more than long enough," he said. "After all, I know if weren't for you I wouldn't be standing here today," he said. "You are one my best friends Orko," he said.

"You are one of my best friends too Adam," Orko said. "The best magic of all, is have you and all of other heroes here on Eternia as my friends," he said hugging Adam.

"Hey Orko just don't stand there try it out," Unzo said.

"Okay," Orko said and did a spell that required intense focus and finesse and managed to do so.

"Way to go Orko," Teela said.

"Thanks," Orko said. "This is the best Birthday ever!" he said. "Because I get to spend it with my friends I made on Eternia and celebrate with my family who came from far away after I had been gone for so long," he said.

Everyone cheered at that.

"Hi in today's story we saw many things happen." Damien said. "For one thing we saw how Orko got a new wand after waiting so many years for it." he said. "Another thing is how Adam worked very hard to make the wand so his friend could have what he felt like he deserved." he said. "Another thing is how Orko was reunited with his family," he said. "Family is very wonderful and near or far remember they love you and when you see them it cane be a wonderful time," he said. "Until next time," he said.
