Chapter 33 Recovery
Orko had been badly hurt during his fight with the Destroying Angel. Orko did manage to destroy it and it was a great relief to the townspeople and his friends. But Orko had received bad injuries and was exhausted. He had collapsed after the fight. His friends rushed him to the palace's hospital wing. Dree Elle had summoned her mother who came with another healer to help treat Orko. Man at arms and the court doctor were helping. Dree Elle also called Orko's parents, aunt, uncle and cousin and told them what had happened. They were worried but knew that Orko was in good hands.
Orko was unconscious still after being treated. Man at arms had hooked him up to machines to keep an eye on his vitals. "Now we just have to wait for him to wake up," Man arms said. "It might be hard to tell when that will be because he is badly hurt," he said.
"I agree," Kyren said. "We just have to wait for Orko to wake up and that might take awhile due to his injuries," she said.
There was a knock at the door. Dree Elle then opened it. "Can I come in?" Dree Elle asked looking in.
"Yes you can come in," Kyren said.
"How is he doing?" Dree Elle asked.
"We finished treating him, now we just have to wait for him to wake up," Man at arms said. "Sometimes because of injuries like his it can take a while for one to wake up," he said.
Dree Elle took a chair by Orko's side. "I hope he's going to be okay," Dree Elle said.
"We have done our work my daughter, right now all that is left is for Orko to wake up," Kyren said.
The doctor and other healer left. Then Kyren left the room. As Man at arms started to leave he turned to Dree Elle. "You coming?" Man at arms asked.
"No, I am going to stay with him, I don't feel right leaving his side right now," Dree Elle said. "He hardly left my side while I was recovering from what the horde did to me, and I won't leave his side, after his fight with that Destroying Angel he destroyed." she said.
"Okay just be careful not to disturb him," Man at arms said. "I told Orko to be careful not to disturb you while you were in here," he said. "So don't feel like I am trying to single you out," he said.
Dree Elle remained at Orko's bed side for the remainder of the day. Then fell asleep at his bedside that night. She was holding his hand.
The next morning and awareness came back to Orko. He felt all sore and tired. He started to open his eyes. He heard beeping that sounded quiet, slow and rhythmic. Then he saw an IV in his hand. He realized he was in the hospital wing of the palace. He felt someone holding his other hand. He turned his head and saw Dree Elle there sleeping with one of her hands holding his hand. He felt himself smile beneath his scarf. Then to let her know he was awake, he squeezed her hand.
Dree Elle felt someone squeeze her hand. Then she woke up and saw Orko looking at her. "Good morning," Orko said.
"Good morning to you too," Dree Elle said. "You were out cold for most of the day yesterday," she told him.
"The destroying angel was anyone hurt?" Orko said.
"Not really, a few of the villagers had minor scrapes but that's it," Dree Elle said. "You are the one who got the worst," she said. "That is because you were the one who fought it," she said. "The other ringbearers said it was one of the most powerful Destroying angels they ever did see," she said. "They said you did very well and many of them admitted have never escaped a battle with one of those unscathed. So they got hurt in fighting them too," she said.
"Well at least everyone is okay," Orko said. He felt so relieved.
Then Man at arms came in the room. "Orko I see you're awake," Man at arms said. "I am glad to see it, good thing you were just unconscious like hoped for, instead of being in a coma like I feared." he said. "You still got a long road of recovery ahead of you," he told him.
"Okay," Orko said. "I am very sore," he said.
"That is to be expected," Man at arms said. "Kyren will give you something for that, she says the painkillers from Trolla are more effective on a Trollan despite the ones I found that are safe for you here seem to do well just take longer to take affect." He said. "So that will be taken care of," he told him.
Then Kyren came in to check on her patient. "Ah Orko good to see you awake," Kyren said. "How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Sore all over," Orko answered.
"I am sure you are," Kyren said. "I got the medicine you need right here," she said a poured some of it into a dose cone that Trollans use to take liquid medicine. "Here," she said handing to Orko.
Orko swallowed the medicine. "Thank you," Orko said.
"You're welcome, now try to rest and take it easy," Kyren said.
"Okay," Orko said. He soon saw his friends who came in to see him.
"Orko we are so glad you are okay," Andra said.
"You had us worried," Damien said.
"Yes Adam and Adora told us what happened," Man E Faces said.
"We are glad you are going to be okay," Ram man said.
"You sure gave us a scare," Teela said.
"I am happy to see all of you," Orko said. "I am just glad no one else got hurt by that Destroying Angel," he said.
"We should all be grateful for that," Vana said.
"I agree," Aremesh said. "I understand more about respect and compassion because of you Orko," he said. "I know I can take these things to help my people learn," he said.
"Yes many people in the palace and on this planet care about you Orko," Adam said.
"There are also people on Etheryia in the great rebellion and the other people who you help there care about you too," Adora said.
"The people on Earth care about you too, you helped restore the magic on Earth," Hannah said.
"People on Trolla care about you too, you have done a lot for them too," Dree Elle said.
"I am glad to know I am loved," Orko said. "I am glad that all of you are here," he said. "You all are great friends, the best friends I could ever ask for," he told them.
"Okay we all need to let Orko rest," Kyren said.
Orko was able to rest. He was brought some food at lunch. He was hungry and ate it. "That was pretty good," Orko said.
Orko started to recover from his wounds and his friends were there for him. He was glad they were there. He was feeling a lot better too. He was starting look better too. "I feel like myself again," Orko said a few days later. He wasn't feeling sore and tired any more.
"I am checking over everything and you are completely healed," Kyren said.
"You certainly are," the other Trollan healer said.
"Yes it is very good," the doctor said. "Your injuries actually looked worse than they were," he said.
"Yes you were very lucky little friend," Man at arms said.
"I am glad all of you were by my side during this," Orko said. "I wondered how the unnamed is taking it that another Destroying Angel has been destroyed and I survived," he said.
In his imprisoned dimension the unnamed one was thoroughly enraged. "That Orko not only has he destroyed one of the strongest destroying angels my followers in the unnamed order created, he has survived his wounds and become stronger from it, and the training he received from those other blasted ringbearers have helped him grow even stronger than he is," the unnamed one said. "No ordinary destroying angel or the current stronger one will be able to defeat him!" he said. "I know I will have to take this into my own hands," he said. "I am the only one with the highest level of strength than any other Trollan from the magic I stole, I know I can defeat him in battle because I have been perfecting my craft while I was here," he said. "Krade work harder in trying to find a way to free me! I have a feeling if you spy on Orko or look into castle Grayskull our spies might be able to find how to free me," he said. "Now work on it harder than ever before, because Orko will face me and I will not be defeated!" he said.
"Of course grand master," Krade said.
"Orko will no longer make a fool of me, he has irked me too many times and I will destroy all that he loves," unnamed one said. "Skeletor and Hordak I know you will be ready to help destroy all that He man and She Ra loves too," he said. "Then victory will be in evil's grasp!" he said.
"Right," Skeletor said.
"Yes with in our grasp," Hordak said.
Then the three villains started to laugh.
"Hi in today's story Orko found out he is very much loved," Ero Dee said. "He was loved by many people who knew him and many people he has helped," he said. "You are loved by many people too," he said. "You are loved by your friends, your family, if you go to a place of worship the people there love you too, and if you help people on a regular basis those people will love you too," he said. "You have people in your life you love too," he said. "One thing to know about love it is one of the most incredible things out there," he said. "Until later," he said.
