Chapter 36 Two Hearts Meant to Be
It had been sometime since Orko and Dree Elle had started their relationship. In fact it had been a year since they started dating and nearly a year and 4 months since they met.
They were very close and so in love. Orko was planning something special for Dree Elle. He went to Trolla and got something. He was looking forward to showing it to her. He hoped she would like it.
Orko at the mean time after returning was looking at his family scrapbook. "Hey Orko," Adam said.
"Oh hi Adam," Orko said. "I am just looking at my family album from Trolla," he said.
"Let me see," Adam said.
"That is my uncle Montork and aunt Esso's wedding," Orko said. "There is my father's and mother's wedding," he said pointing.
"I see that," Adam said.
"Look there is my uncle Montork, my dad and other defenders," Orko said.
"Defenders?" Adam asked.
"The Trollan Defenders are group of strong Trollan wizards who fight to protect Trolla," Orko said. "They were founded by Vana," he said. "My dad, uncle and other defenders in this picture retired sometime ago and now their is a group of younger defenders taking their place," he said.
"What are their names?' Adam asked.
"This is one is my uncle Montork, that one is my dad Unzo," Orko said.
"They look so young," Adam said.
"Yes," Orko said. "That one is Malek," he said pointing at a one light blue. "That one is Jeku," he said point to the one in dark blue," he said. "That one is Devero," he said pointing to the one in burnt orange with top hat. "That one is Zelmra," he said pointing to the one in green and brown. "That one is Fresa," he said pointing to the one in pink. "That one is Xana," he said point to the one in dark green with the flower on her hat. "That one is Orlina," he said pointing to the one in orange and yellow.
"Wow," Adam said. Adam looked at some of the pictures. "Orko I am wondering, why is your father and uncle wearing one earing and it matches one of their wife's earrings?" he asked. "Also in the pictures of them when they were much younger they were not wearing earrings but their wives are." he said.
"Those are wedding earrings," Orko said. "Trollans were wedding earrings instead of wedding rings like humans," he said. "The wedding earrings match and the husband wears one and the wife wears one. They way they are shown to share a bond with each other," he said. "Only married male Trollans wear earrings," he said.
"That is neat," Adam said.
"I suppose it is to a non-Trollan," Orko said. "Here is a picture of Zelmra recovering in the healers plaza after the five days of wrath," he said pointing.
"Whoa what happened to him?" Adam asked.
"He was half blinded and lost both his arms," Orko said. "But he can still use magic, he does it with his mind," he said. "So he can take care of himself," he said. "He may need help on rare occasion but he can still take care of things himself," he said.
"I see," Adam said. "It's clear he doesn't let him slow him down," he said.
"Yes," Orko said. "But is magic isn't as strong as before because of it," he said. "look," he said pointing a one picture. "That's me as a baby," he said pointing at a baby Trollan.
"You were so cute," Adam said.
"Look there is cousin Snoob as a baby," Orko said pointing.
"He was cute too," Adam said.
"Well I enjoy looking back at the memories," Orko said closing the book. "I love my family and friends very much and I love Dree Elle dearly," he said.
"Hey what is this little friend?" Adam said picking up a box that was next to Orko.
"Careful with that," Orko said. "I will show it to you but don't tell anyone especially Dree Elle," he said.
"Oh why?" Adam asked.
"I will tell you why as soon as I show it," Orko said. Then he opened the box revealing an earring. "This is an engagement earring," he said. "I am planning on asking Dree Elle to marry me," he said.
"I see," Adam said. "Don't worry little buddy I will keep it quiet," he said.
Then Adam left the room. "Hey Adam what were you doing in Orko's room?' Teela asked.
"Just talking to him as he went through his family photo album looking at it," Adam said.
"I see," Teela said. "What did you two talk about?" she asked.
"Just some of the pictures he showed me and explained why his father and uncle where earrings the that match one of their wives earrings," Adam said. "He said they wear them to show they are married to each other and they match and only married male Trollans wear earrings," he said.
"That is interesting," Teela said. "I wonder how his date with Dree Elle will go tonight," she said.
"You never know," Adam said smiling.
"Why are you smiling do you know something I don't?" Teela asked. "Tell me," she said.
"I can't I promised I wouldn't tell," Adam said.
"You promised not tell?" Teela asked. "Not tell what?" she asked.
"My lips are sealed," Adam said. "Wait and find out for yourself," he said walking away.
Teela came up to her father. "Dad I think Adam is hiding something," Teela said.
"What makes you think that?" Man at arms said.
"He had this smile on his face when we were discuss something and I knew that look because he knew something I didn't," Teela said. "I asked him to tell me but he said he promised he wouldn't tell," she said. "I don't know who he promised not to tell or what he wouldn't tell," she said.
"Remember when you found out he was He man?" Man at arms asked. "You were mad at him and almost stopped talking to him?" he said. "He saved you after that and then you realized he didn't tell to keep you safe and you kept the secret with Orko, the sorceress and I ever since and when Dree Elle found out when Orko rescue her and he made her promise not to tell too?" he asked.
"Yes," Teela said.
"There must be a good reason he is not telling," Man at arms said. "If he seems at peace keeping this secret is must be a nice secret," he said.
"He also told me to wait and find out myself, I wonder what that means?" Teela asked. "I hope is something nice about us or one of our friends," she said.
"I hope so too Teela," Man at arms said.
Adam was doing a good job at keeping the secret. Then Orko saw Dree Elle. "Hey Dree Elle ready for our date for lunch?" Orko asked.
"Yes," Dree Elle said.
The two of them went out and enjoyed their lunch. "Dree Elle would you like to head to the garden?" Orko asked. "I know it is one of your favorite places about the palace," he said.
"Sure," Dree Elle said.
Both of them went to garden. "This is lovely garden and I love it," Dree Elle said.
"I am glad you like it," Orko said.
Then Dree Elle sat on a bench in the sun next to Orko. Then Orko got off the bench and got down on his knees. He pulled out the box and showed her the earring. "Dree Elle will you marry me?" Orko asked. He was wondering if he was going to be rejected.
Then Dree Elle jumped into his arms. "Yes!" Dree Elle said laughing. Orko and Dree Elle went to a place to get it put in. Dree Elle and Orko were very happy. "I can't wait to tell the others," she said.
"Neither can I," Orko said.
Then they found the others in the palace. "Hey where did Dree Elle get that new earring in her left ear above her other one in the left ear?" Teela asked pointing.
"This is my engagement earring," Dree Elle said.
"Dree Elle and I are engaged," Orko said. "I proposed and she said yes," he said.
"So you are going to get married that's great!" Queen Marlena said.
"We are very excited about it," Orko said.
"Congratulations you two," King Randor said.
"Congratulations little friend, I am happy for you," Man at arms said.
"I thought she would say yes," Adam said.
"Adam you knew?" King Randor asked.
"Yes I was with Orko in his room and he showed me the engagement earring and told his plans to propose," Adam said. "But he made me promise to not tell anybody," he said. "He wanted it to be a surprise," he said.
"So that is what the secret Adam was keep today," Teela said. "I thought it was something nice and I was right," she said.
"Well that means we have a wedding to plan," Dree Elle said.
"Yes a Trollan wedding here on Eternia which will be a big deal," Orko said. "If Trolla's borders were open we would be able to invite all of our friends and family," he said.
"Maybe some day they will be open Orko," Dree Elle said. "It would be nice, so many on earth, Eternia and Etheryia know about us Trollans and want to be friends with them." she said. "if the borders were open we can spread our desire to be friends across the universe," she said. "That would be grand," she said.
"It sure would," Orko said. "Now let's just be excited we are engaged and get ready to plan our wedding," he said.
Everyone agreed on it.
"Hi today you saw how Adam kept a secret like he was asked too," Teela said. "Being a good friend means you can keep secret," she said. "Also being a good friend also meanings to know when to keep a secret or tell a secret." she said. "Until next time," she said.
