Fred and Daphne's Body Language

Note: I decided to do something different than my other Scooby Doo body swap oneshots. I've read they originally planned on doing some of these things when making the movie. This would've been nice for Fred and Daphne which would've helped them finally make up.

Shaggy had just entered a secret underground cave where Scooby had fallen, but he was nowhere to be found.

He was on his knees as he called out, "Scoob?"

There was no response as he stood up and glanced side to side and cupped his mouth while saying, "Scooby Doo, where are you?"

He walked forward and reluctantly asked, "Scoob?"

He looked into a huge underground chamber and saw a spooky looking cauldron over a cavern with an eerie light coming from it. There was a bluish white light coming from the cauldron as Shaggy stared it in fear before he nervously rushed over to it. When he came to it he looked down inside the cauldron and saw what appeared to be a bottomless whirlpool of small glowing bluish white heads.

He stared down with his mouth agape but looked up in curiosity as he heard Velma's voice say, "Shaggy. Shaggy."

He looked down and his eyes widened in fright as he saw one of the heads float to the surface, it was Velma's.

She came to the surface as she desperately called, "Shaggy!"

He was horrified as he waved awkwardly and said, "Velma."

He then found his courage to help her as he said, "I'll save you."

He held his right hand out and reluctantly reached in and managed to pull Velma's spirit head out of the cauldron.

He held her by her "tail" as she bobbed up and down and spoke gratefully and gravely while saying, "Oh thanks Shaggy. Boy and I glad to see you. Now let me go so I can return to my body, and then get out of here before they find you and steal your protoplasm too."

He nodded as he understood and released her as she zig zagged down the tunnel and shouted, "I always knew you were a hero Shaggy!"

Sometime later the creature that possessed Velma's body was walking at the end of a line, following a bunch of other possessed people into the hotel.

Velma came flying toward her body as she yelled, "JINKIES!"

The creature in her body turned around and saw her coming as it stared with her mouth agape in shock as she came flying toward it. Velma entered her body through her own mouth, causing her body to fall flat on her back into the leafy ground. She lied on the ground spasming a bit as a green light shined from her upper chest and the creature that possessed her body was expelled. It roared in displeasure as it landed on its feet in front of Velma, while she sat up and looked at it in fear. She was not wearing her glasses on but she could see well enough to know that it was standing in front of her and was about to attack. The monster prepared to attack when it noticed orange boils appearing on the back of its left hand and then it became curious. More boils appeared on the rest of its body as it became scared and looked up at the son and screeched in terror before exploding. Despite her impaired vision Velma saw everything and was stunned as she reached into her pocket, pulled out her glasses, and put them on. She stared into the spot where the creature once stood with a stunned expression as she had just discovered an important part of the mystery.

Back in the chamber, Shaggy looked in the cauldron and saw Fred's protoplasm as he looked up and yelled, "Hey!"

Shaggy reached his right hand in and grabbed Fred by his "tail" and pulled him out of the water saying, "Hey buddy."

Fred was freaking out as he bobbed up and down while staring at Shaggy saying, "Shaggy! Listen man, someone must've spiked my root beer last night. Talk me down man! Talk me down!"

Shaggy stared at him in fear as he said, "Fred! You're a freaking protoplasmic head!"

Fred nervously gulped in acceptance as he nodded before trying to be optimistic while he said, "I know. But I'm still the best looking protoplasmic head here. I mean…"

Shaggy then moved his fist under Fred and hit him like a volleyball, sending Fred spiraling down the tunnel as he yelled in terror.

Fred was flying in the hotel entrance as he fearfully asked, "How do you drive this thing?!"

He tried to turn himself but was having trouble with no arms or legs, while the creature in Fred's body was talking to some others.

They left while Fred tried to steer himself toward his body before flying after it while saying, "On your right! No left! I'm coming good looking!"

He flew after him but Fred's body entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him, causing Fred to crash into the door. He bounced off the door, off the wall, and two lamps like a pinball before flying away as he screamed in distress. Meanwhile Shaggy was still in the chamber as he pulled some random guy's protoplasm out of the cauldron.

The guy smiled gratefully at Shaggy as he said, "Thank you so much! You saved me! Thank you!"

Shaggy held the guy's soul as he awkwardly said, "Sorry, I'm uh… looking for my friends."

The guy then hastily said, "What?"

He put the man's protoplasm back into the cauldron and looked around and then he spotted Daphne's protoplasm. She looked up and saw him and tried to swim away from him but he grabbed her by her "tail" and fished her out of the cauldron.

Her head bobbed up and down with her hair floating as she stubbornly said, "Put me back Shaggy! I'll figure a way out myself."

Shaggy was not convinced as he asked, "Like how?"

Realizing she had no idea, she looked away before thinking while she said, "I don't know. I'll… I'll use my tongue as an ore and swim to the edge."

Shaggy did not agree as he said, "Sorry."

He hit her protoplasm with his left hand from underneath and sent her flying, she screamed in distress as she looped back and tried to fly back to the cauldron. Her face stretched out as she cried in discomfort before she was slang shot through the air and sent flying straight down the tunnel. Shaggy stared down the tunnel she had flown through when suddenly she heard people coming and saw shadows on the wall. Heeding Velma's earlier advice, Shaggy took off running, not wanting to risk ending up like the others in the cauldron. As he ran he did not realize he left something very important as the Damonritous was lying on a stone slab in the chamber. Meanwhile Velma entered the doorway to the hall of the hotel and turned around to see a protoplasm flying through the woods as it turned. She knew it was coming and walked down the hall as she saw the creature in Daphne's body following the other possessed people.

Velma got its attention as she called out, "Yo yo, yoo yo."

The creature in Daphne's body responded to Velma as it turned around and started walking toward her while Velma got ready. When it came next to her, Velma shoulder charged the creature in Daphne's body and sent it stumbling into a hotel room as it roared in distress. She quickly grabbed the door and got ready as the creature in Daphne's body glared at her, while the protoplasm flew down the hall toward them. The creature had its hands on Daphne's hips as it said something to Velma in its strange langue while the protoplasm flew into the room. It interrupted the creature as it entered Daphne's body through the mouth and entered her body as it stumbled backwards and fell in a chair. Daphne started fidgeting in the chair with discomfort while Velma shut the door behind her and stared at Daphne. Daphne was spasming and shaking in the chair while she lashed her head down and Velma immediately ran to the blinds behind her. Daphne raised her head as a bright green light shined from her chest and the creature was expelled form her body as it landed on its feet in front of her. It stood up and turned around and roared at her while Daphne stared at it with her mouth agape in sheer terror. The creature roared as it stepped toward her to attack while Daphne nervously leaned back in the chair, sticking out her bottom lip in fear.

Velma smiled slyly as she said, "You could use a little sunlight."

She immediately opened the blinds to shine sunlight on the creature, it saw this and shielded its face in fear before boils appeared on its right hand. It screamed in fear before it desperately blew on the boils before waving its hand while Daphne covered her face in fear. The monster started jumping up and down as it blew on its left foot with more orange boils appearing all over its body. Daphne sat up in her chair with her arms on it as she stared in shock while the creature went "uh oh" and exploded, prompting Daphne to cover her face in fear again. Daphne's eyes were wide open as she stared at her hands in fear with them shaking before putting her hands on the arm of the chair to help herself up.

While she did this Velma spoke and pointed at the window while she said, "That's one part of the mystery solved. The creatures must need our bodies to survive in sunlight."

Daphne got out of the chair and stood up as she looked down at her hands, examining the backs of them as they shook in fear.

While she did this Velma smiled as she walked up behind her before showing curiosity while she said, "Like a human suit. SPF1,000,000. But what are they doing here in the first place?"

Daphne turned her hands back over and stared at her palms while her hands kept shaking in fear, then she tilted her head down slightly as she noticed the rest of her body.

Velma noticed how strange she was acting as she asked, "Daphne you okay?"

Having heard her, Daphne responded with a man's voice saying, "Yeah."

"Daphne" immediately turned to Velma and showed fear while talking with Fred's voice saying, "But I'm not Daphne!"

Velma was stunned as she stared at him, recognizing his voice and said, "Fred?"

Meanwhile the creature in Fred's body came out of the bathroom just as Daphne's protoplasm came flying through the hotel lobby.

She curved toward him through the air and realized what was about to happen as she whined, "Ewww!"

She then entered Fred's body through the mouth and fell back onto the cold hard floor as she let out a small cry of pain.

Back in the hotel room, Fred was in Daphne's body as he leaned forward and frantically said, "I couldn't get to my body! I didn't know where else to go! I panicked!"

Velma tilted her head slightly before looking away with a small but sassy grin as she faced toward the open window.

Fred shook his head as he defensively argued, "It's not easy to steer when you're pure spirit!"

Fred then curiously looked down at himself and saw Daphne's chest, now his, which immediately got him thinking.

He glanced to his right in thought while he tilted his head up and looked at Velma as he smiled bigly and said, "Hey…"

Velma looked at him in curiosity and he happily swayed his hips right to left while bobbing his head as he said, "I can look at myself naked."

Velma showed a judgemental expression as she started walking and said, "Oh brother."

She walked past Fred as he watched her with an indifferent expression before looking down as he pulled out the front of Daphne's dress. He looked down and saw Daphne's feminine body, which was now his as a big grin appeared on his face, then he released the front of the dress and happily ran after Velma. Sometime later, Daphne was walking through the forest of the island in Fred's body; she had changed into Fred's blue pants, his dark blue short sleeve button down shirt, and his brown shoes. She was also carrying her purse, which she had reclaimed, in her right hand as she made her way through the forest. As she walked she expressed her dismay with a groan, she was not happy about her current situation, and she let out a small huff of frustration. Velma and Fred, in Daphne's body, came walking toward her through the forest when Velma stopped and stared at her. Fred was not paying attention as he kept looking down at himself while feeling Daphne's body in curiosity. While he walked he curiously moved his hands and felt his stomach, then his sides, and then his hips with interest.

Daphne came toward them as she angrily pointed her purse at Fred and demanded, "Get your hands off me!"

Velma stared at Daphne in Fred's body with a stunned expression as she said, "Daphne?"

Fred had his hands over his chest as he stared at Daphne in his body and lowered his hands as he walked over to her.

While he did this Daphne angrily pointed her purse at him before putting her hands on her hips as she said, "He planned this somehow, didn't he?"

Fred turned his head to his right and walked around Daphne from behind, smiling at his old body as he said, "Hey good looking."

Shaggy was running through the forest but stopped when he saw them and watched them, listening to them talk.

Daphne glared down at Fred with her hands on her hips as she said, "Fred! You egocentric!"

Fred flicked his hand while Shaggy pointed at them and nervously said, "Please tell me you guys are you."

Daphne turned from Shaggy back to Fred and angrily stomped her foot as she said, "Fred keeps touching me!"

Shaggy walked toward them while Velma sarcastically complained said, "Kinda makes you nostalgic for the homicidal creatures, doesn't it?"

They were standing around a tree stump as Fred had his arms folded and Daphne had her hands on her hips as they were annoyed with each other.

Shaggy glanced at Fred and Daphne before looking at Velma as he said, "Like what happened?"

Velma spoke tediously as she tilted her head toward Fred and said, "Fred took a wrong turn and ended up in Daphne's body, and apparently Daphne ended up in his body."

Fred still had his arms folded over his chest as he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I'm not complaining."

Daphne glared at Fred as she angrily said, "Of course you're not! I'm sure you're loving this! You stole my perfect body and my life!"

Fred looked at her with an annoyed expression as he said, "Hey, don't blame me. Blame the creatures. They stole our bodies in the first place. Besides you got my handsome body."

Daphne looked down at herself with a repulsed expression as she whined, "Don't remind me. This is a nightmare!"

Fred was insulted as he argued, "Hey, it's better than being back in that cauldron."

Daphne glanced in thought before nodding and sneering at him as she said, "Yes, but just barely!"

Fred smiled as he curiously moved his hands down his waist and felt his butt while he said, "Well I'm liking this."

Daphne angrily spat, "Fred! Get your hands off my butt! That's MY body you're touching!"

He did not listen as he gently rubbed his butt and smiled at her while saying, "Relax Daph. I'll take care of it."

Velma looked at Shaggy as she complained, "This could go on a while."

Shaggy curiously looked back at Velma as he asked, "What do we do?"

Velma was annoyed as she looked at their swapped friends before looking back at Shaggy as she said, "I don't think there's much we can do. There might be a way to switch them back but right now we need to focus on solving the mystery. We'll have to make due for the moment."

Fred glanced at Daphne and then grinned as he said, "I'm cool with that."

Daphne glared at him before surrendering as she said, "Fine. There's no way I'm getting captured again!"

Fred looked down at himself before he sarcastically said, "I hope being in your body doesn't make ME the damsel in distress."

She glared at him with an annoyed expression before Shaggy worriedly said, "We gotta find Scoob! The bad guys took him!"

Velma agreed as she seriously said, "Well I know they didn't take his protoplasm or he would've been there with the rest of us. So they must have something else planned for him."

Shaggy was concerned as he asked, "But like what?"

Fred smiled slyly as he suggested, "Maybe we should split up and look for clues."

Daphne pointed her purse at him as she refused, "No way! I am NOT leaving you alone in my body!"

Velma showed a serious expression as she said, "Besides, virtually everyone on the island has been imprisoned in the cauldron with the creatures possessing their bodies. If they find us out we'll all end up in the cauldron, maybe forever."

Fred threw his hands out as he strictly declared, "I am NOT going back in there!"

Daphne had her hands on her hips again as she firmly said, "For once I agree with you."

They all jumped and turned as an explosion occurred in the background and they immediately hurried to investigate. Outside his hut on the beach, the voodoo maestro was lying on his back on the sand in front of his bonfire, having been knocked on his back by the explosion.

He looked at the fire as he sat up and said to himself, "Something tells me that was the wrong ingredient."

The gang emerged from the jungle and stared at him as Daphne, still in Fred's body, said, "Wait, I know how to handle this guy. Hey you! What are you doing?"

The others were not impressed as she walked and Velma sarcastically said, "Yes. That is masterful."

The voodoo maestro held his hands out as he looked at them and annoyedly said, "I'm trying to do a voodoo ritual if you don't mind, thank you! It's important to get the right ingredients."

The gang ran over to him and stopped as Fred curiously asked, "Right ingredients for what?"

The voodoo maestro was shocked as he stared at Fred with his eyes widened as he glanced from him to Daphne.

Daphne showed an annoyed expression as she sneered, "Am I still wearing a fall color in May?"

Velma tediously said, "It's a long story."

The voodoo maestro pointed back and forth and Fred and Daphne as he judgmentally said, "Let me guess, the creatures got you and you two ended up in the wrong bodies."

Fred glanced down at his boobs and then shrugged as he admitted, "Yeah, but it's not so bad."

Daphne glared at Fred before she complained, "This is the worse day of my life!"

The voodoo man pointed at Daphne with a serious expression as he said, "Hey! I wouldn't be complaining if I were you! You should consider yourself lucky! The creatures would've imprisoned your souls for all eternity!"

Velma stared at the voodoo maestro as she urgently asked, "You know about them?"

He stared at her with a tense expression as he said, "Of course I do! They steal the bodies of everyone who come to this island and imprison their souls in their dark cauldron underground."

Velma glanced around in shock as she said, "Everyone on the island must be possessed."

The voodoo maestro pointed his finger as he warned, "Not just the island. All over the world. The creatures use their new bodies to lure more victims to the island, then they leave to find more."

Daphne was somewhat frightened as she glanced around in thought saying, "That must be why the coastguard hasn't come."

The voodoo man leaned forward as he ominously said, "Forget the coastguard, they've possessed millions of people around the world."

Shaggy became very afraid as he said, "So like, we're stranded on an island of people possessed by monsters?!"

The voodoo guy held his hands out as he answered, "Why do you think I'm trying to protect myself?!"

Fred became nervous as he looked at the others and said, "I'm starting to think we're all damsels in distress right now."

Daphne stared at him as she nodded and said, "I think I have bigger problems to deal with than spending my life as you."

The voodoo maestro pointed at her as he seriously exclaimed, "You got that right! You want to save your skins you either stay out of sight!"

Velma was concerned as she said, "I'm not sure that's a viable option."

The man pointed at them before grabbing a strange skeleton with big hair while he said, "Then learn some voodoo. The only way I can protect myself is by blessing this dead Anouki beast."

Daphne jumped slightly as she stared at the skeleton with a mixture of fright and disgust at how ugly it was.

The voodoo maestro pointed his finger at them as he said, "And I tell you something. I got a feeling they're about to perform their Darkopalypse ritual."

Velma stared into space as she said, "Darkopalypse ritual?"

He promptly answered, "That's right."

Velma then placed her finger to her chin in thought as she said, "That's what the ancient text described."

Fred curiously looked at Velma as he asked, "What?"

Velma ominously looked at them as she answered, "The Daemon Ritus. That clue Daphne found in the castle. I was able to translate the ancient text on it."

The voodoo maestro was frightened as he warned, "Stay away from that thing! It's got their dark magic!"

Velma placed her finger back to her chin as she said, "If I recall correctly, they use the protoplasm in the vat as an energy source. And the leader needs to absorb a purely good soul to complete the ritual."

The voodoo maestro spoke fearfully as he held the skeleton and said, "Legend has it, once the Darkopalypse ritual is performed, the creatures will rule on Earth for 10,000 years. That's why I have this dead Anouki beast in my house to protect myself."

Shaggy pointed at him before scratching his cheek while he asked, "Do you have another one of those?"

He did not answer as he turned around and went into his hut, Daphne frowned as she said, "Those creatures are taking over the world? That is so mean."

Fred raised his finger as he thought and said, "Now they can't do the ritual without a pure human soul. Where in the world are they gonna get one of those?"

Velma shook her head as she knew the answer and warily said, "I didn't say human."

Shaggy was very afraid as he said, "Oh boy."

The gang had correctly deduced that the creatures were planning to use Scooby's soul in their ritual and they had figured out the person behind it was Mondavarious. Meanwhile Mondavarious had his men bring Scooby to him and they were planning to sacrifice him for their ritual.

Back at the beach, Fred suspiciously looked up at Daphne in his body as he asked, "If Mondorajaga wanted Scooby then why'd he invite the rest of us?"

Shaggy pointed his right finger to out to his side as he urgently said, "It doesn't matter! We gotta like go save Scoob!"

He took off running before stopping as Fred held his hand out and said, "Shag! Our area of expertise is nutjobs in Halloween costumes."

Shaggy had a serious expression as he said, "We're supposed to be heroes man."

Fred showed a lack of confidence while Shaggy took Daphne's purse and pulled out a Scooby Snack as he proudly said, "So what I'm gonna do what I always do. I'm gonna eat myself a Scooby Snack, and I'm gonna save my best pal."

Fred turned to Velma as he said, "Velmster?"

Velma became emotional as she choked up and smiled while she said, "You think I'm gonna fall for that? Giving me my own nickname? Trying to make me feel like… part of the gang. We could make a plan."

Daphne expressed her lack of confidence as she said, "What can I do? I'm stuck like this. The only thing I'm good for is getting caught."

Fred looked at Daphne firmly before smiling while he proudly said, "But you never let that stopped you before. And if that's not a true hero, I don't know what is. And I'm you now so I think we both know I'm right."

She smiled at him and they all put their hands together in the middle of their group before Velma said, "Let's get Jinkey with it!"

Together the gang had come up with a plan to save Scooby, free the protoplasms, and stop the creatures from completing their ritual. Fred, in Daphne's body, had changed into her purple jump suit as he climbed through a cave in the cavern so that he could open the skylight. Daphne, in Fred's body, stayed with Velma as they ended up pretending to go along with the ritual by dancing with the crowd. Shaggy tried to save Scooby but was grabbed by goons while the ritual was performed and Mondavarious used the Daemon Ritus to absorb many protoplasms while Scooby's was extracted. He prepared to absorb Scooby but Shaggy stopped him and Scooby returned to his body while Daphne and Velma freed themselves. They unmasked Monavarious to discover that he was actually a robot, being controlled by none other than Scrappy Doo. He revealed his plan to takeover the world while they witness as he used the power he absorbed to grow to giant size. He kept chasing Shaggy and Scooby through the cavern while Fred made his way outside, when he was approached by the masked wrestler.

He walked up behind Fred and said, "Senorita."

Fred turned around and saw him as he tried to attack him, and Fred ended up fighting back using impressive martial arts skills.

He was shocked when he knocked the masked wrestler down and looked at his hands as he said, "Whoa! Daphne wasn't kidding!"

He fought the masked wrestler in Daphne's body and used her abilities to face him with great speed and agility. Fred was amazed and happy by the things he was doing and also gained more respect and appreciation for Daphne. Near the end of their fight, the demon that possessed Mary Jane captured Shaggy and gave Scooby to Scrappy, who was planning to extract his protoplasm again. The masked wrestler had also captured Fred as he held him over his head while effectively restraining the man in the woman's body.

The masked wrestler smiled evilly as he gloated, "Captured again senorita?"

Fred desperately struggled as he refused to give up and said, "No she's not!"

He then bit the masked wrestler's hand and made him scream in pain before breaking free and knocking him over the vent to the skylight.

He was trapped as he held out his arms and legs to avoid falling down but Fred asked, "Now who's the damsel in distress?

The masked wrestler nervously whimpered, "Me?"

Fred smiled triumphantly as he said, "Oh yeah!"

He then sent the masked wrestler crashing through the blinds of the vent as he screamed in terror, letting sunlight into the cavern. Scrappy was distracted as he watched this and then the cauldron was knocked over, freeing all the other protoplasms as they flew to their correct bodies. The creatures that once possessed all of them were expelled and prepared to attack but the sunlight reflected of the discoscull hit them all and made them explode. Scrappy, still giant, was enraged as he threatened to crush Velma and Daphne until Shaggy used the pincer claw to remove the Daemon Ritus from him, freeing all the protoplasms he absorbed. Scrappy shrunk down to his usual small size and then Scooby just knocked him aside without any effort. While everyone celebrated the victory Fred lowered himself down into the cavern via cable with a triumphant smile on his face.

Daphne saw him and smiled with her hands on her hips as she looked up at him while he smiled at her and said, "Hey Daph!"

He stepped down and looked up at her as she happily said, "We did it!"

Fred smiled as he looked down at himself before looking back at up at her with admiration as he said, "You were right. Your body is a dangerous weapon. It's awesome."

She showed a flattered expression as she said, "Thanks. I'm glad you finally see it."

They both kept smiling as they stared into each other's eyes and then they kissed passionately, not noticing lights moving up from their chests. While they kissed the lights moved up their throats and through their mouths, passing each other before moving into the other mouths and down their throats. They separated and smiled at each other, gasping in shock before looking down at themselves speechlessly.

They looked at each other as Daphne's voice came out of her own mouth and she said, "I'm me again!"

Fred's voice came out of his mouth as he felt himself and said, "Me too!"

They were back in their own bodies as their minds were racing and Daphne said, "When we kissed our prtoplasms must've switched."

Fred squinted in disbelief as he asked, "So to switch back, all we had to do was kiss?"

Daphne glanced around and then showed an amused smile as she said, "Yeah, I guess so."

They both chuckled and then Fred happily kissed her again before she pushed him away and said, "Fred! Cut it out!"

Fred smiled down at her as he jokingly said, "It was worth a shot. And it was fun while it lasted."

Daphne smiled happily as they embraced each other tenderly before walking off to join their friends and reveal their current status.

Author's note: I decided to do a body swap just focusing on Fred and Daphne. I thought it would be interesting to actually skip the body swap scene and have them go through the rest of the movie in each other's bodies. I read online that's what the directors were thinking of doing when they made the movie. Fred and Daphne switching back by kissing is a nice touch, and fits since the protoplasms enter through the mouth. I also felt that made it funny and somewhat poetic. The could've easily switched back but didn't because of their squabbling. Also, it shows how they really needed to express their feelings for each other, otherwise they're sort of hurting themselves.
