Chapter 41 Holidays and Light
It was winter and things were looking festive. "I can hardly believe that Eternia has Christmas." Hannah said.
"It does now," Queen Marlena said. "It started soon after I arrived here and explained it to Randor and his people." she said. "So they decided to celebrate it too," she said. "Remember Randor's and I's first Christmas together as husband and wife," she said. "I also remember Adam's first Christmas too," she said.
"I remember Christmas with my family before they died when I was only seven," Hannah said. "I spent most of other Christmas' in my foster home with my foster siblings and the foster care workers," she said.
"Yes this will be our first time celebrating Christmas," Foosabella said gesturing to herself and the ringbearers other than Orko.
"Yes I spent Christmas at the foster home I lived in with Hannah," Chancor said. "I still have no idea what things going on at Christmas look like," he said. "But I can hear it all, it is all wonderful and happy," he said. "But also a lot of craziness and rush," he said. "but I still wish I could see what it looks like," he said. "Sometimes I wish I had my sight," he said.
"You better save your wishes for something you really need Chancor," Hannah said.
"But sometimes I feel I need to see, so don't I really need my eyes?" Chancor asked.
"Well who else can tell if something is out of tune by single pluck of one string?" Hannah asked. "One song mage Trollan's ears are that sensitive," she told him.
"Thanks Hannah I needed to hear that," Chancor said. "You always know what to say," he said.
"I try my best to know what to say," Hannah said.
"This is so exciting Dree Elle and I's first Christmas as husband and wife," Orko said. "I am so happy about this," he said. "I hope she likes what I got for her," he said. He got her a locket that had an inscription inside that said: 'You are the magic in my heart,'. He made sure it was neatly wrapped.
"I am sure she will like it," Adam said. "You put a lot of thought into it," he said. "I also got Teela something special," he said. What Adam got Teela a bracelet and it said in an inscription: 'You fill my life with light,'. He was planning on telling her he thinks of her more than a friend at Christmas. He was more than a little nervous to say the least.
Adora came with her friends to celebrate. They were eager to see an Earth Tradition that has been on Eternia for about 23 years. It was very exciting.
"This is a lot of exciting," Bow said. "We have a lot to learn," he said.
"Yes this is a wonderful time of year from the looks of everything," Madame Razz said.
They were all very excited about this celebration. "I am so looking forward to this," Yuka said. "Our family and Orko's side of the family are coming to celebrate too," he said. "I wonder when they are coming?" he asked.
"I think they are coming in now," Orko said pointing. "I saw them from the window," he said.
Everyone was looking forward to the celebration.
Meanwhile at Snake mountain Skeletor was locking up things tight. He hates Christmas because it makes him feel good and he hates it. He likes to feel evil and he hates to feel good. He hates it because it makes him treat his warriors nice and people he hates nice. He hates it very much.
His warriors know about this and how it makes Skeletor feel. So they do their best to stay out of his way.
Skeletor had to think of something to make things less good feeling and more bad feeling. Only if he could find a way to make Christmas feel less joyful. He thought of something if he got rid of the spirit of giving during this time of year maybe it might take care of it. He found something that would take care of it. So he and Evil lynn got ready and cast the spell.
Then all on Eternia were affected. All but one, Hannah saw things that was terrible. People were only thinking about themselves, there was no spirit of giving, no hope, no kindness, no good will toward men. Hannah hoped one other wasn't affected she went to find the sorceress.
"Come in Hannah," the sorceress said.
"Sorceress there is a big problem for some reason the Christmas spirit is gone from Eternia, no giving, no hope, no peace, no kindness, no good will toward men," Hannah said.
"You are right Hannah, this is Skeletor's work," Sorceress said. "I wasn't protected because castle grayskull's magic protected me," she said.
"I wonder why I wasn't affected," Hannah said.
"Well Hannah you have strong sense of right and wrong, and have a very pure heart," the sorceress said. "So you have to break the spell Skeletor put on everyone," she said.
"How isn't breaking spells things you do?" Hannah asked.
"It is but I have no power outside this castle," the sorceress reminded her. "Hannah you must find a way to do so," she said.
Hannah was thinking and had an idea. "I have an idea," Hannah said. Then she found somethings that she never used anymore but brought to Eternia and found some craft supplies and made many things. It was several days until Christmas so she had time.
Then Hannah went out and began giving one thing to each person and wishing them good things. It was working the light of giving and love was breaking the spell. The light shined and broke the spell completely. It was a lovely sight. Skeletor wasn't too happy about this at all.
"I am so happy all of you are back to normal," Hannah said.
"Hannah you saved all of us," King Randor said. "You have done well," he said.
"I am just grateful everyone got the spirit back just in time for Christmas," Hannah said.
Everyone was ready to celebrate.
There was knock at Snake Mountain on Christmas eve. "Who dares come here?" Evil Lynn asked. She saw a bag and brought it in. She opened it and inside there one gift for each of them. On Christmas morning all the warriors looked at the presents.
"Who would give us presents?" Trapjaw asked.
"Yes it is very strange," Cobra Khan said.
"I don't understand," Beast Man said.
"It is odd," Clawful said.
"Yes by why would someone do that?" Whiplash asked.
"I don't know," Evil Lynn said.
"No one that I recall has ever given me a present," Skeletor said.
"Well let's find out what they are," Evil lynn said. So she opened hers and saw what it was. "Why it's new bracelet, in my favorite color purple," she said.
Trapjaw opened his present. "A new can of wax," Trapjaw said.
Cobra Khan opened his present. "Why it's a heating blanket for chilly nights," Cobra Khan said.
Beast man opened his present. "Why it's new brush for my fur," Beastman said.
Clawful opened his present. "Why these are my favorite nuts and they still have the shells on them since I love cracking them open with my claws," Clawful said.
Whiplash opened his present. "Like a tooth brush to clean teeth like mine," Whiplash said.
Skeletor opened his present. "It's a hand sewn pillow that better conforms to my skull," Skeletor said.
Then they found a note. "To Skeletor and his warriors, I know all of you don't like this time of year but no one should be forgotten at Christmas even people as evil as you, love, Hannah."
"That little girl did this for us?" Skeletor said. "Ugh if she keeps this up I might evil like this holiday that makes me feel sick," he said.
Back at the palace. "I appreciate you doing that for me Man at arms," Hannah said.
"But why would you be nice to them?" Yuka asked. "They almost destroyed Christmas!" he shouted.
"True, but I was taught that everyone deserves kindness, even the meanest and nastiest of people," Hannah said. "Plus Christmas is a time to think of others even the people who are evil," she said. "Because I remember a story I once read at school, called Christmas carol where an evil man reformed his ways and found happiness after many years of bitterness," she said. "He became a better man and was happier for it," she said. "My father before he died taught me that no one even the most lowly and terrible of people should be forgotten on Christmas, because we are all people," she said.
"Sounds like your father and you have the same belief," Masde said. "I agree to it very much," she said leaning on Leber who she had been reunited with.
"Yes and you have similar belief that everyone deserves love despite where they come from, who they are, what they are, or their circumstances," Leber said. "Because that you helped me see there error of the ways I was being raised in and I thank you for that," he said.
Everyone had a pleasant holiday after that.
"Hi in today's story you read how giving can help in many ways and how one light can help," Queen Marlena said. "You can do this year round. Not just at Christmas time," she said. "Because love is year round," she said. "See you soon," she said.
