Chapter 48 Happy birthday baby! Part 1

Orko and Dree Elle had been busy getting ready for their new baby. Things were going well. Dree Elle's middle had grown big and round. It showed everyone on Eternia there was life inside. Orko was very excited about becoming a father. He was putting the finishing touches on the nursery with Adam, Damien and Man at arms. "That should do it," Orko said.

"Yes all finished," Damien said.

"It sure is done and it looks nice," Adam said.

"I am glad we got it done now, after all Dree Elle is due to have the baby any day now," Man at arms said. "So it is a good thing we finished." he said.

"I can't wait to show her," Orko said.

Orko went to get Dree Elle. He covered her eyes and lead her to the nursery. "Can I look yet?" Dree Elle asked.

"Not yet," Orko said. Then once in the nursery he got ready to uncover her eyes. The he uncovered them. "Ta da, our little baby's room," he said.

"It's amazing and the colors are gender neutral," Dree Elle said.

"Of course they are," Orko said. "We don't know the baby's gender until the baby is born," he said. "I am looking forward to our baby coming," he said.

"I am looking forward to it too," Dree Elle said. "Oh there was a kick," she said laughing.

Orko placed his hand on her belly. Sure enough he felt a kick. "Yes looks like the little one is doing fine," Orko said removing his hand.

"Ooh!" Dree Elle said.

"You okay?" Orko asked.

"Yes it was another kick and it was rather hard one," Dree Elle said. "I think this little one is doing well," she said.

"I think so too," Orko said kissing Dree Elle.

Three Trollan healers were currently staying at the palace. They were going to care for the Trollans on Eternia because a select few Trollans chose to be on Eternia and live there. Because they wanted to help out with things. This was start of a plan for Trollans to set up colonies on other worlds to help better relations with Trolla. It was plan of Orkos and it was going well for Eternia because there were several Trollans on Eternia and they were having good lives there and building in an area king Randor gave them to start the first of Trollan villages on Eternia. This area was part of Eternos and that area was going to be where the first of them was going to be because Orko lived in Eternos and thought it would be good to have them near.

These healers were to help in the palace because they were to tend to Orko's family and any other Trollan who might become part of the royal court. They were ready at any time to help Dree Elle have the baby.

"Everything is looking good," the healer named Ziki said. "Both you and the baby are doing well," she said. "You got one healthy baby in there," she said with a smile in her eyes.

"That's good," Dree Elle said. "Even though I like feeling my baby inside me, I am looking forward to holding my baby in my arms," she said.

"I bet you are," said a healer named Horio. "It is going to be an exciting thing," he said. "I know you maybe looking forward to having you baby, but it will be painful," he stated.

"I know my mother told me that childbirth is a painful thing," Dree Elle said. "But how will I know it is actually time because I normally have those practice contractions that don't hurt at all," she said.

"Well actual labor contractions hurt, and they can hurt an awful lot," said the third healer who was named Jarnia. "They start out not so painful but they can get pretty intense as it gets closer to the time for the baby to born," she said. "But once it is over it will be worth it," she said.

"I am looking forward to seeing my baby, but not looking forward to the pain," Dree Elle said. "To be honest I am scared of giving birth at times," she said. "I worry about the pain, but also worry something might go wrong," she said.

"That is understandable," Ziki said. "Many women of any species feels that way when they will soon have a baby," she said. "It is okay to be scared," she said. "I felt the same way when I had each of my three boys," said. "But it's normal and you are not alone you have a great support system and the other healers and I will make sure it goes smoothly," she told her.

"Thank you," Dree Elle said. Then she left the medical area. She saw Orko and came up to him.

"Hello Dree Elle," Orko said. "How did the check up go?" he asked.

"It went fine both me and the baby are fine," Dree Elle said. "The baby is very healthy," she said. "We all talked a bit and they helped with some of my worries about giving birth which you know I have been having," she said. "Will you still be there?" she asked. "You know I want you there," she said.

"Of course I will," Orko said. "After all you are the one having the baby," he said and placed his hand on her middle. Then the baby kicked at that moment. "Looks like our little one is happy daddy will be there when they are ready to come into the world," he said.

"I think so too," Dree Elle said.

Everyone was looking forward to the baby coming. Orko decided to talk to all of the members of the palace today. He knew the birth was any day now so he thought he would talk to them about the baby. "Listen all of you know Dree Elle and I's baby will be born any day now," Orko said. "I thought I might give all of you fair warning," he said. "You have to extra careful around the baby, more careful than when around a human baby," he said.

"Why because the baby is more delicate than a human baby?" Damien asked.

"No, they are just as delicate as a human baby," Orko said. "The warning wasn't just because the baby is delicate," he said. "But because baby Trollans can't control their magic, so they have magic surges with fluctuations of power of it that come and go." he said. "That magic is very random and has little control, but it gets a little less crazy by the time the baby is four months old, so until then be careful or you might get hit by a baby magic," he said.

"Consider us warned," Man at arms said.

"Now that everything is ready all we have to do is wait for the day to arrive," Orko said.

"That's right," Dree Elle said.

Everyone was looking forward to the birth and a new member of the palace and family they have made.
