London 1715…

Lady Amity Blight was quietly reading her Shakespeare novel when a butler arrived in her room. "Lady Blight the postboy has brought a letter from your father." He exclaimed as he handed Amity the letter. "Excellent you gave him a two shilling payment as instructed." Amity asked. "Of course my lady." He replied. "Very well you may resume your regular duties." Amity said as the butler left the room. Amity inspected the envelope. No doubt it was her fathers handwriting. She could clearly make out the family crest stamped on the wax seal. Opening the envelope Amity began to read the letter. Dearest Daughter, your last letter brought me great joy knowing your studies with mistress Lilith have gone so well. By the time this letter reaches you your studies will have drawn to a close. It is time you make the journey to join me and your mother in Barbados. I understand this is a big move for you but I can tell you that the Caribbean is truly a wonderful place. I can not thank His Majesty King Phillip enough for making me governor of this colony. My dear daughter you will never miss the cold of a British winter ever again With the warm air and sunny skies. The simplicity of life here has allowed me to continue my studies in science. Of course when I am not managing the affairs of said colony. Your mother also looks forward to your arrival. Do not worry my dear daughter. I have already secured your voyage to Barbados. Now Just make the most of your final days in England. I can't wait to see your face again. Love Your father Sir. Alador Blight.

Amity was delighted to see her parents again. The last 2 years were hard on the young lady. Her father had been appointed governor of Barbados by King Phillip. Amity Was Left to finish her studies under the watch of Her Uncle William and Aunt Elizabeth Turner. Both were wonderful people though Amity dearly missed her father. Her mother was a story for another day. As Amity ran over to inform her Uncle of the news. Her Uncle was casually reading a book in his study when she came in. "Dear niece, what is it?" He asked. "It's a letter from my father. He sends for me to join him and mother in Barbados." Amity explained. "When are you to set sail?" Willam asked as he got up from his chair. "The ship will depart at the end of the week." Amity said. "Good plenty of time to host a party for you. No niece of mine shall leave England without celebration." Willam stated as he called for his head butler Percival. Percival came into the study prim and proper. "You called sir?" He asked. "Indeed I did. I want you to prepare a Party for my dear Niece Amity who shall depart for Barbados at weeks end." He exclaimed. "Of course sir. I shall send the invitations at once." Percival said as he left the study. It was at this moment Elizabeth walked in. "Dear what's this about a party?" She asked. "It seems your brother has finally sent for his niece to join him in Barbados." Willam exclaimed. "Elizabeth went to hug her niece. "That's wonderful. Oh my dear how I will miss our tea time together you promise to write to me." Elizabeth said. "Of course Aunt Elizabeth you and Uncle Willam have been wonderful to me ever since I was a child." Amity exclaimed as she went to her room to get ready for what was set to be a party of the ages….

A Few Days Later…

The Turner mansion was packed with the finest of English high society. Willam wanted to make sure his niece was sent off with the finest. He had the best musicians in London playing Concertos by Arcangelo Corelli. The food was prepared by master chefs. The wine choices were the finest Port And Sherry money could buy. Punch was also served. Willam was drinking a glass of sherry when Amity came from her room wearing her finest dress."Amity you look magnificent." Willam exclaimed as Amity bowed gracefully. "Thank you uncle." Amity exclaimed as she signaled a servant to bring her a glass of sherry when 2 men approached in naval attire. "Ah you must be the young woman who this party is all about." The older of the two gentlemen said. "Why yes I am." Amity said as she bowed whilst giving her introductions. It was then her Uncle interrupted. "Ah Amity I see you have met Captain Darius Deamonne and His 1st Lieutenant Hunter Wittterbane." Willam exclaimed. Amity was shocked. "Hunter Witterbane as in crown Prince Hunter?" She asked as the young man bowed before kissing her hand. "The very same Lady Blight and I must Say it is a pleasure to meet a woman of your beauty." Hunter exclaimed. "Your father requested that my ship personally escort you to Barbados. Your father and I were schoolmates as children so it will be nice to meet him again." Darius said as he began to talk matters with Willam as Hunter and Amity went off to enjoy the party. "This music is quite wonderful." Hunter exclaimed as he took a sip of port. " I believe it's Arcangelo Corelli." Amity exclaimed as she took another sip of sherry. "I'm terribly sorry my dear you are wrong. It's by George Frideric Handel and it's a canticle ." Hunter exclaimed. 'Oh I haven't heard any of his works before." AMity said. "He is quite new to England. My uncle and I went to the 1st major performance of his works. It was quite a performance." Hunter exclaimed. "Oh really." Amity asked as her Aunt Elizabeth came by."Excuse may I speak in private with my niece?" Elizabeth asked as Hunter nodded and she and Amity went over to a secluded area."Is that London's most eligible bachelor Crown Prince Hunter you're talking to?" she asked."Why yes dear aunt." Amity replied."He would make an excellent husband for you." Elizabeth remarked."Oh dear Aunt are you certain?" Amity remarked. "Yes, just think, marry him and you'd be queen one day. Now go to him dear." She remarked as Amity walked back to Prince Hunter. "Now where were we?" She asked the prince. "I was going to ask you to dance." Hunter exclaimed as the two made their way to the dance floor. As the music went they swayed back and forth with each note in sync. Amity was quite enjoying herself when her Uncle gathered the attention of everyone. "Listen Ladies and Gentlemen I'd like to give a toast to my dear niece Amity Blight who will make the trek from England to Barbados at the end of this week. She may never return but we shall send her off with a bang. To Amity!" He remaked as the Partygoers cheered in Unison.

After another hour or so the party wrapped up and Amity said bye to Prince Hunter who she would soon spend the next few months on a ship with. Little did she know that the journey ahead would change her life forever.

Sorry it Took me so long to write new material. Just was struggling with ideas. Hopefully new stories should be more frequent
