Dil got together with their friends, but Angelica wasn't there to hear this conversation, since she was talked about a little bit.
"How is Tommy doing with Angelica?" Chuckie asked.
"I don't know, Chuckie. I didn't get to hear from Tommy or Angelica since her mom picked him up earlier."
"I know one thing," Lil said.
"What's that, Lillian?"
"Tommy's already bored, and Angelica probably hasn't been nice yet."
"Sounds like it," Phil agreed.
"Maybe we should go over there and check on Tommy soon," Dil replied.
"Great idea, Dil! Let's go over tomorrow after school. Angelica's already probably told Tommy by now that we can't stay over very long," Chuckie said, and added, "I promised Tommy I'd bring the homework over to Angelica's."
"Why would Tommy want to stay at Angelica's house?"
"Because Mom and Dad would want a break from Tommy and his broken leg," Dil answered.
"That makes sense. Have you heard anything about when Tommy will be going back to school?" Lil asked.
"I don't know. I haven't heard Mom and Dad say anything about it."
"Tommy's probably on Angelica's couch like he was over here," Kimi said.
"He's supposed to for a while longer. I think I heard Mom say something about Tommy being able to sleep in the bedroom again when Aunt Charlotte came to pick him up."
"We all miss Tommy at school. It's not the same," Kimi replied.
Everybody agreed with her.
"Good thing we don't have to stay with Angelica at her place. I wonder what room Tommy will be in," Phil told them.
"We'll find out. Hope it's not Angelica's room since it's for a girl," Chuckie said.
"You're right, Chuckie. Let's go over after school tomorrow and find out."
"Why would Tommy want to spend his time over at her house in a girl's bedroom? That's gross," Phil said.
"It's not that bad. Angelica's been in my room, right, Chuckie?"
"Yes, Kimi. I wouldn't let Lil sleep in my bedroom since she sleeps with Kimi instead."
"Tommy's a boy, Chuckie."
Phil stuck out his tongue.
"You don't have to stick out your tongue, Phillip."
"Too late for that, Lillian."
Now it was time to change the subject, and Phil decided to do that.
"Changing subject, maybe Tommy can show us where he had his accident."
"I can do that, you guys. My dad and I ran into Tommy on the day it happened, so I can do it."
"We're just curious where it was, that's all."
"Was it somewhere we're familiar with?"
Chuckie shook his head.
"No. We were surprised to see Tommy that day when we were driving."
"How did you run into him?" Lil asked.
"Lillian, you don't need to ask that question."
"Too late, Phillip."
Phil and Lil had always called each other by their full name.
Nobody could think of anything else to say, but kept the conversation going.
"Chuckie, when do you want to show us where Tommy hurt himself?" Kimi asked.
Kimi wasn't in the car with Chuckie and Chaz when it first happened, so she only got to hear the story instead.
"I don't know. We'll have to talk about it another time. I don't think Tommy wants you to see where it happened."
"I know, Chuckie. Were you there when it happened, Dil?" Kimi asked.
"No, but I got to hear about it and not seeing it when he first saw you and your dad, Chuckie."
"Good thing we were able to find Tommy. If we didn't, there's no telling what would happen to Tommy."
"You're exactly right, Chuckie. Let's set up something so you could show us."
"We will, but let's not tell Tommy I'm showing you where it happened. He might not like the idea."
"We won't say anything, Chuckie."
Chuckie figured out they probably would say something to Tommy when they head out to Angelica's house tomorrow. Let's see wait and see what they will do tomorrow when they see him and Angelica.
"Maybe you should tell Angelica we're dropping by after school, Chuckie."
"Why would I want to tell her? We see her at school."
"I know we do, but we can still pass it over so that she would know what to expect when we show up."
"Good idea, Kimi. Now let's get together again tomorrow at lunch and talk about it, Chuckie."
"All right, you guys. I'll see what we can come up with. I'll see you guys tomorrow."
"All right, Chuckie. See you then."
"You will. Let's go home, Kimi."
Once they left their friends, Chuckie and Kimi were talking.
"Do you think they will tell Tommy about showing you where the accident was?" Kimi asked.
"Probably will, Kimi. I already figured that out."
"Already?"
"Yes," Chuckie said.
"I think I agree with you on that."
They might walk by after school tomorrow before showing up at Angelica's house and see Tommy with bringing the homework over.
"I'll give the teachers Tommy's homework tomorrow from what he did when the accident happened."
"Good idea. Do you think we should tell Mom and Dad about this conversation?" Kimi asked.
"I don't think that's necessary, but I'm not sure how he would react to it if I mentioned something about showing you where the accident was."
"I see your point. Let's get home and do our homework. I think I have a test tomorrow, so I better study."
"What test is that for?"
"Math, I think. I hate math."
"So do I," Chuckie agreed.
Both he and Kimi kept talking once Chuckie opened the front door and let her walk in first. Chaz was home, so he saw them walk in.
"How was your day?" Chaz asked when Kimi and Chuckie shut the door behind them.
"Okay, Dad. I think there's something Kimi and I want to talk with you about."
"About what?" Chaz asked, turning the TV off.
"Remember when we found Tommy that first day of the accident?"
"Yes, I do. What about it?" Chaz asked.
"Well, the others are interested in seeing where the accident took place when we saw Tommy in that scary neighborhood."
"Why would they want to do that?"
"I don't know. That neighborhood didn't look familiar to me when we got Tommy into the car."
"I see your point, Chuckie. It didn't look familiar to me either."
"Good thing you didn't come, Kimi," Chuckie told her.
"How is Tommy?" Chaz asked.
"He's okay. We heard he's with Angelica for a while."
"Why would he stay with Drew and Charlotte for?"
"Dil thinks it's because they could use a break from Tommy and his broken leg," Kimi answered.
"I see your point. Tommy still on the couch?"
"Yes," Chuckie replied.
"Sorry he had to miss school for a while. I'd be bored too if I had a broken leg or arm."
"Has it happened to you in the past?" Kimi asked.
"I don't think so. I took care of myself not to break any bones."
"Good thing you don't have a story for Tommy to hear," Chuckie told his father.
"I'm sure Drew and Charlotte probably told him not to hear any of those stories."
"Why would Tommy want to hear stories like that for?" Kimi asked.
"He just wants to get back to normal," Chaz told them.
"Thanks for asking about Tommy, Dad. I'll tell him when we stop by at Angelica's tomorrow."
"Why do you want to see Tommy at Angelica's place?"
"That's where he's staying at. Angelica would probably tell us not to stay for very long."
"She doesn't have to tell you that since you're friend with Tommy."
"That's what we told Angelica. She doesn't care."
"Of course not," Chaz agreed.
