Above a very prosperous city wide planet, several large ally and enemy spaceships along with the enemy's space stations covered the region of the planets orbit. In the middle of this giant war two Jedi Delta 7 interceptors; one red, the other yellow, jumped out of hyperspace to join the great siege. They flew just metres above the Republic Cruiser turning downwards into the battle. Their eyes lay upon laser fire flying in every direction, large laser blasts firing from the Cruiser upon enemy Separatist flagships and smaller star fighters dog fighting all over the place. These two Jedi, flying the star fighters only had one objective to be concerned with.
"Master; Grievous' ship is straight ahead." Anakin, flying the yellow, Jedi interceptor spoke via the intercom. "...The one crawling with vulture droids."
"Oh I see it. Oh this is going to be easy." General Kenobi replied sarcastically, flying the red interceptor. Just as he had, several vulture droids sitting on the outside of Grievous' flagship suddenly all took flight and headed straight for the two Jedi. Luckily two clone ARC 170 starfighters joined to protect the Jedi and ensure their success in reaching Grievous.
"Let them pass between us." General Kenobi ordered. They allowed for the vulture droids to head straight between them. They soon turned around and became a bigger problem. The vulture droids were now behind them and focused on the two ARC 170's.
"There right behind... I can't..." The clone pilot reported, his intercom cutting in and out.
"I'm going to help them out." Anakin told General Kenobi.
"No. They are doing their job and we can do ours." General Kenobi reassured Anakin. It was not after when both ARC 170 star fighters were taken out. This led the Jedi to be left open wide. The vulture droids shot heat seeking missiles, two each at the Jedi. The two Jedi broke from formation to avoid being destroyed.
"We need to lose them R4. No, no. Nothing too fancy..." General Kenobi told his droid counterpart R4-G6. Anakin and his droid counterpart R2-D2 had other ways of getting rid of the heat seeking missiles. Anakin told R2 to reverse thrusters. This caused the ship to spin. The chasing missiles spun too and as they closed on Anakin's ship, they collided with one another before they could hit Anakin's ship.
"Yeah, we got them." Anakin said. General Kenobi was still stuck with his. He was beginning to run out of ideas. Before he knew it the two missiles just flew straight him and exploded a fair far ahead of him. Things got worse from there though. Inside the missiles were buzz droids. Several landed all over General Kenobi's ship.
"I'm hit! Anakin..!"
"I see them. Buzz droids." Anakin replied. The buzz droids started using different electronics to mess with General Kenobi's star fighter, including R4.
"Careful R4," General Kenobi said. It was too late. The buzz droids had dismantled R4's head off his body, leaving General Kenobi without his navigator droid. Anakin would not leave his master to be destroyed by the buzz droids. General Kenobi's window began to fog up. He could not see anything. Anakin shot straight at the left wing of General Kenobi's ship. It destroyed some of the buzz droids, though it did more harm than good. He had accidentally shot the end of the left wing right off.
"Stop firing! You're not helping!" General Kenobi told him.
"I agree. Bad idea." Anakin replied. He then came up with an even better idea. He flew right next to the left side of General Kenobi's ship and crashed right into the side of it. This took out the rest of the buzz droids except for one. It climbed from General Kenobi's ship onto Anakin's. I headed straight towards where R2 was sitting. R2 brought out a shock arm from out of his head and struck at the buzz droid. It missed the first two times.
"R2; hit the buzz droid's centre eye." General Kenobi told him. He did so and struck an electrical shot dead centre into the buzz droids centre eye. It shortened out and flew out into space. Now that all the threats had been dealt with, all that was left was for them to fly to Grievous' ship.
"Grievous' ship is dead ahead." Anakin told General Kenobi.
"Haven't you realised the shields are still up!?" General Kenobi replied as they flew closer towards the hanger.
"Sorry master." Anakin said. Acting quickly, he did a barrel roll over General Kenobi's star fighter and blasted at the hanger's shield generator. It exploded and the hanger shields disappeared. As soon as it had, the two Jedi watched as a large unfamiliar red and yellow rectangular ship flew inside the hanger. The hanger's countermeasures kicked in and the doors began to close.
"Oh I have a bad feeling about this." General Kenobi said. The two Jedi star fighters just made it into the hanger of Grievous' flagship as the hanger doors closed behind them. They both made quite a rough landing. They were not bothered by it though. They had more important matters to keep their minds on. General Kenobi jumped high out of his star fighter and drew his blue lightsaber in mid air and started destroying the battle droids guarding the hanger. Anakin on the other hand waited until his star fighter had stopped before exiting and joining General Kenobi. The battle droids opened fire, but were no match against the two Jedi. In all the action several people walked out of the large rectangular ship. They all watched as the two Jedi finished the last of the battle droids. General Kenobi and Anakin then turned their attention to these new arrivals. The majority of them were quite young. There was only one who looked around the same age as them. The two Jedi kept their lightsabers drawn, unsure if they were friends or foes.
"Who are you? What are you doing here? It is not safe to be here." General Kenobi told them.
"What's going on? Our ship brought us to these coordinates so we must have come here for a reason." Sora replied.
"Why would your ship bring you here in the middle of this war? Are you here to help us?" Anakin asked them. The ten individuals stood there in silence, not able to easily reply. All they were told was to gain a stronger hyper drive to be able to travel to other universes, not helping these two possible heroes. Everyone including the two Jedi was all confused of this outcome. General Kenobi then introduced both himself and his padawan.
"I am General Obi Wan Kenobi and this is Anakin Skywalker. We are Jedi of the Republic. General Grievous has kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine and we have come to rescue him. So what is your mission?" He asked. There was another short silence before Cid answered General Kenobi.
"We need to fit our ship..." Cid gestured to the large rectangle ship that the group had arrived in, "... with a stronger hyper drive to be able to travel to other universes."
General Kenobi and Anakin looked at each other. They were not sure how to reply. General Kenobi then came up with an idea.
"We have no time to talk about this any longer. Put these coordinates into your ship. It will get you to safety on the planet. We will discuss this further when we return."
He handed Cid a devise who then headed into the ship. General Kenobi then told the rest of the group to go inside the ship. They all did as advised just as Sora noticed that General Kenobi and Anakin were not following.
"What about you?" Sora asked.
"We still have business here. Go. You will be safe on the planet." Anakin told him.
"If people from another universe have been here too, you will need our help." Sora replied.
General Kenobi and Anakin gave each other the same look as they did before. Sora was just a teenager. This place was too dangerous for him. Still, he had a fire in his eyes like no other. General Kenobi agreed.
"Wait!"
General Kenobi, Anakin and Sora turned towards Kairi who ran up to them. Donald and Goofy soon followed her. Kairi kissed Sora on the lips.
"Be careful." She said to him. He nodded as she returned to the ship. Sora was in a sort of trance from her kiss. When he came too, he saw Donald and Goofy standing in front of him.
"You can't forget us." Donald told him.
"Yeah Sora; you will need our help too." Goofy added. Sora smiled. General Kenobi told R2-D2 to wait until they had entered the corridor from the hanger before opening the hanger door.
"Then stay here and wait for further orders." General Kenobi finished. He threw R2-D2 a communicator who caught it with his robotic claw that came out of his chest. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Anakin and General Kenobi then exited the hanger through the left side from here they arrived. They could hear the hanger doors open and the ship take off. Now that was accomplished, they travelled down the corridor.
General Grievous entered the bridge of his flagship with the guard of two magnaguards. He walked to the edge of the top part of the control bridge that was being operated by numerous battle droids and he turned to Rune Haako who sat in the control seat.
"What's the situation captain?" He asked.
"Two Jedi and three unknown accomplices are in the hanger bay. We're tracking them." Rune replied. Grievous looked up at the surveillance screen and stared at the intruders. He recognised the Jedi but not the other three. Another figure appeared out of shadow behind where Grievous stood.
"The other ones are enemies of Xehanort General. I'll take care of them." He said.
"Very well Lord T.E.O." Grievous replied. Lord T.E.O nodded and disappeared once more. General Grievous smiled. He stood there and continued watch the surveillance live footage. The Jedi and other individuals were closing in on the elevator that would lead them to Chancellor Palpatine.
"Separate the Jedi from their new allies." Grievous ordered. He then watched as Droidekas rolled down the corridor before reaching the intruders. They changed from their rolling position into their battle position and fired on the intruders. The Jedi blocked some of the blasts with their drawn lightsabers while Goofy used his shield to protect Sora and Donald. They were pushed back into the elevator and the doors closed. That was the last Grievous could see of them.
Inside the elevator the five of them had just destroyed a number of battle droids that also occupied the elevator. Sora was impressed with their skill. The elevator began to travel upwards and everyone remained silent the whole time. After a few seconds the elevator suddenly stopped.
"Did any of you press the stop button?" General Kenobi asked. Sora, Donald and Goofy shook their heads.
"Well there's more than one way out of here." Anakin replied. He then began using his lightsaber to cut a hole in the roof of the elevator and jumped up and out. General Kenobi had a better idea and began talking into his communicator.
"R2. R2. Please activate elevator 3, 1, 7, 4. Come in R2."
He kept repeating himself until the elevator began to move again. Unfortunately it was going back down instead. Sora then remembered about Anakin still being on the outside of the elevator. By General Kenobi's next response, it seemed as though he had completely forgotten about Anakin and was more concentrated on contacting R2-D2.
"R2, R2... stop! We need to be going up."
In the next few seconds the elevator and began ascending.
"Now, that's better."
Sora, Donald and Goofy were relieved that everything was back on track but one worry still remained.
"What about Anakin? What has happened to him?" Sora asked. As if it was speak of the devil, Anakin jumped back into the elevator. General Kenobi was ready to fight any enemy that could enter and drew his lightsaber before holding back when he realised it was Anakin who had jumped back in.
"Oh it's you." He said.
"What was that all about?" Anakin asked him.
"Well R2-"
"No more wiring jokes." Anakin interrupted him.
"Did I say anything?"
"He's trying his best."
"I didn't say anything." General Kenobi finished. It was a few seconds before the elevator doors opened on the top level of Grievous' flagship. The group all exited the elevator and entered a room encircled by other elevator doors, except for the open doorway that lead to another large room. This is where the two Jedi headed. Sora, Donald and Goofy followed closely being taken away by the sight outside the large, rounded window of the ensuing battle still taking place outside the flagship. A quite elderly man man sat in a chair restricted with energy cuffs attached to it. General Kenobi and Anakin headed straight down the stairway and toward the man. Sora believed this is who they came to rescue.
"Chancellor." General Kenobi spoke to him. It was then that Sora's belief was proven to be correct.
"Count Dooku." The Chancellor replied. Sora was confused. Who was Count Dooku? He then saw General Kenobi and Anakin turn their attention back to the top of the stairway. Standing there was a quite old balding man wearing a black top, pants, shoes and short cape. The only thing a part of him that was not black was his brown belt and silver device connected to it. It looked curved but still similar to the Jedi's lightsabers. He was not alone standing behind were three other strangers. One had dark brown hair. Another had light brown bushy hair and the third straight blonde hair. They all wore dark ice blue coloured hooded clothing with a symbol on the front of the chest. Count Dooku jumped down from the top of the stairs landing on the same level as the Jedi, Sora, Donald and Goofy.
"We'll take him together. Sora, Donald and Goofy, I hope you are ready for this. Do you think you can take care of Dooku's allies while we take care of him?"
"You got it." Sora replied. Sora, Donald and Goofy ran straight for the three strangers who all drew silver swords. Now that they were out of the way, Dooku had the Jedi to himself.
"Your swords please; you don't want to make a mess of things in front of the Chancellor." Dooku said. He drew and activated his red lightsaber. General Kenobi activated his lightsaber. They began battling one another. Meanwhile Sora, Donald and Goofy fought the other three strangers. Sora fought the one with dark brown hair. Donald fought the one with straight blonde hair which left the one with bushy brown hair to fight Goofy who was on the most defensive with his shield. Sora used his keyblade like a sword against his opponent. His opponent was very impressed as he fought strongly.
"Wow, you are as good as Lord T.E.O said." He told Sora. Sora was surprised in one way but not surprised about the fact that this guy worked for Lord T.E.O. He had a similar evil look in his blue eyes.
"Andrew; stop talking and beat him already." Donald's opponent told him.
"I am Peter. He's just better than I anticipated." Andrew replied.
"When did fighting involve you talking to one another? Oh great, now you have me doing it." Goofy's opponent said to them.
"Just stick to the plan Kurt." Peter said.
Sora became intrigued. Already being aware of these people crossing universes was their plan. This caused him to figure there was another reason. He had to get them to reveal their plan.
"So what did Lord T.E.O tell you to do with us?" He asked. He blocked another of Andrew's slashes at him. His keyblade was stronger than even he was aware of. Andrew ignored Sora's questions and fought on. Sora, Donald and Goofy were all too distracted to realise General Kenobi had been thrown into one of the pillars, knocking him out and trapped by the balcony that Count Dooku then dropped on top of him. Anakin was becoming more enraged as he continued to battle Dooku. Finally Anakin made the final move. He forced his lightsaber against Dooku's. Soon Dooku's hands were cut right off by Anakin's lightsaber. Anakin held both his own and Dooku's lightsabers in his hands. They were pinned at Count Dooku's neck.
"Good Anakin, good. Kill him. Kill him now." Chancellor Palpatine told him.
"I shouldn't." Anakin said.
"Do it!" Palpatine repeated. He was becoming a little angered from Anakin's refusal. He stood there. Dooku looked up at him in fear. He did not expect this. His life then ended. Using both lightsabers, Anakin sliced his head clean off and Dooku's body fell to the ground. As soon as it had ended, Andrew, Peter and Kurt disappeared. Sora ran back down the stairs to Anakin. He almost threw up from the sight of Dooku's dead body. Anakin used the force to released Palpatine from the chair.
"You did well Anakin. He was much too dangerous to be kept alive." Palpatine assured Anakin. Anakin wasn't convinced.
"He was an unarmed prisoner. I shouldn't have done it."
Sora agreed, even though he did not see what actually happened. Anakin made his way over to General Kenobi to see if he was alright.
"Anakin, there isn't time." Palpatine said.
"He seems to be alright. Donald and Goofy, can you help me?" Anakin asked them. Without another word Donald and Goofy came to Anakin's side to help him carry an unconscious General Kenobi.
"Leave him or we'll never make it." Palpatine tried to convince Anakin further.
"His fate will be the same as ours. Sora, you and I will have to protect them now." Anakin said. Sora nodded. The group made it back to the elevator. Sora pressed the button and they waited. Anakin then realised the elevator was taking too long.
"Elevator's not working."
Anakin then grabbed his communicator.
"R2, activate elevator 2, 2, 2, 4." Anakin spoke into the communicator. In a few seconds everything began to tilt.
"What's going on?" Sora asked. Anakin used all his might to open the elevator doors. Once they were open everyone climbed into the elevator shaft. By this point the elevator shaft was no longer vertical. It was now horizontal. Nobody said a word and instead began to run along the wall of the elevator shaft. They travelled a few metres before the ship began to turn back to the correct position. This was not good news for them though. They began to slide down the elevator shaft. Anakin grabbed onto a plank and stopped. Sora, Donald and Goofy all held onto his legs as Palpatine grabbed Sora's waist. General Kenobi, over Anakin's shoulder woke up and panicked.
"Easy. We're in a bit of a situation here." Anakin told General Kenobi. General Kenobi looked up. Coming straight down towards them was an elevator.
"What's that?" General Kenobi asked him.
"Uh R2 shutdown the elevator..." Anakin spoke into the communicator once more.
"Too late; Jump!" General Kenobi told him. Anakin let go of the plank and they all dropped. As if it were instinct Anakin and General Kenobi threw hook cables. They wrapped around some planks above and allowed the whole group to swing into another corridor. They all lay there for a few seconds, relieved that they were safe. General Kenobi and Anakin were the first to get to their feet. Anakin helped up Palpatine as Donald and Goofy helped Sora.
"The hanger is back this way." Anakin told them. He led the way. They all felt like they were in the clear. They had rescued Chancellor Palpatine and now all they had to do was return to their ships and leave Grievous' flagship. Their hope of victory was short lived. As they passed down another corridor, they were stopped in their tracks. Ray shields surrounded them.
"Ray shields." Anakin said.
"Hang on, we're smarter than this." General Kenobi replied.
"Apparently not..." Anakin answered. Sora noticed that General Kenobi and Anakin did not think to just cut through it with their lightsabers. He was about to suggest that they do cut through it. Anakin spoke first.
"I say patience."
"Patience..?" General Kenobi asked him, seeming a little surprised to Anakin's idea.
"Yes. R2 will come and he can release the ray shields."
Anakin then communicated to R2 to come to their position. Everyone stood inside the ray shields for quite some time. Soon enough R2-D2 arrived through a door at the side of the corridor. Sora was happy to see the little droid here to get them out of their jam. The group unexpectedly received more company that they bargained for. Several Separatist droids came down the corridors and surrounded them. The ray shields disappeared. Sora was ready for a fight. He waited for General Kenobi and Anakin to draw their lightsabers. They did nothing. Sora's heart sank. Was this really it? A battle droid came up to them and relieved them of their lightsabers. The Separatist droids escorted the group through several corridors leading left and right before reaching a door at the end of the final corridor. The doors opened and they all entered. Sora believed this was Grievous' flagship's control bridge. It was much larger than the bridge King Mickey's ship that they had arrived in.
"... Ah the negotiators; General Kenobi. We've been expecting you." Grievous said as the battle droid handed him both General Kenobi and Anakin's lightsabers. "That wasn't much of a rescue." He then turned to Anakin. "And Anakin Skywalker; I expected someone of your reputation to be a little older."
"General Grievous; you're shorter than I expected." Anakin replied sarcastically. Grievous then turned to the last three individuals.
"So you say these three are enemies of Xehanort." Grievous said. Sora had no idea of whom Grievous was speaking to until they replied to him. Sora then saw a stranger he had seen only days ago... the hooded Lord T.E.O.
"Yes General. He would very much like them out of our way." Lord T.E.O answered. Sora did not like the sound of that.
"R2!" Anakin yelled. R2-D2's circuit opened and sent electricity everywhere. In the confusion General Kenobi and Anakin both used their force pull to pull their lightsabers from Grievous and back to them.
"Kill them! Make them suffer!" Grievous ordered. Grievous' magnaguards, armed with electrical staffs attacked the Jedi. Lord T.E.O went straight for Sora and drew his own red lightsaber. Sora summoned his keyblade and fought back.
"Your followers didn't beat me. What makes you think you can?" Sora asked Lord T.E.O. Lord T.E.O only laughed. This angered Sora more. Donald and Goofy came to Sora's side but Sora told them not to intervene.
"He's mine."
He could see Lord T.E.O smile under his hood. This seemed like it was just a game to him. Lord T.E.O struck at Sora once more. Unlike last time, Lord T.E.O was much more dangerous. Sora had witnessed the damage that a lightsaber could do. He was amazed that his keyblade could withstand such a powerful weapon. Once General Kenobi had defeated his two magnaguards, he drew his attention to Grievous. Anakin, Donald and Goofy however worked on destroying every last remaining battle droid that controlled the ship. Soon Grievous was cornered. He picked up one of the electrical staff's off the floor of the control bridge.
"You lose General Kenobi."
Grievous threw the staff at the glass window that shattered. Grievous went flying out of the window.
"You seem to have problems of your own." Lord T.E.O told Sora as the emergency doors closed on where the window had shattered. Lord T.E.O then disappeared like he had so many times before. Anakin quickly got to the controls. He looked at all of it, trying to figure out how they were going to get to safety. The flagship began to descend toward the surface of the planet.
"All the escape pods have been released." Anakin said. Sora did not like the sound of that. Things only worsened from there. They heard something happening outside the ship.
"We lost something." Anakin told them.
"Not to worry. We are still flying half a ship." General Kenobi replied. Sora, Donald and Goofy all held on tight as the flagship entered the atmosphere. Sora was thinking of Kairi the whole time. He feared that this was it. How could he have been so foolish to follow the Jedi into the belly of the beast? He looked out the window on the left side and saw small ships spraying water on the flagship. Before he knew it, the ship hit hard on the surface of a large runway. The flagship kept moving further and further, taking out any object in its path. It was slowing and finally it came to a complete stop.
"Another happy landing." General Kenobi said in a slight joke. He was trying to relieve the tension. Sora slowly let go of the desk he was clinging to. He was happy to have survived. Now that everyone was safe, they needed a way of getting out. General Kenobi and Anakin used the force to create an open whole where the window once was. The midday sun shone through. The two Jedi waved their arms to gain the attention of a transport ship flying overhead. It hovered just outside the opening. A door on the transport ship opened and emergency crewmen got out. They asked if everyone need any medical attention. General Kenobi told them everyone was fine, besides being shaken up from the situation. The emergency crewmen helped the survivors into the transport ship. From there it flew through the city towards a large dome shaped building. It landed at one of the hangers and the door opened again. Chancellor Palpatine exited the transport ship first, followed by Anakin. Sora, Donald and Goofy were also about to exit the transport ship. General Kenobi told them to sit back down.
"You need to come with me to the Jedi temple. We need to know about these other universes if we are to help you." General Kenobi told them. The door of the transport ship closed again and the ship lifted off, travelling to a quite large building with five towers sticking out of the top of it. Sora had never seen anything like it. The city was huge. It spanned for miles in every direction. What General Kenobi told them next was even more unbelievable.
"This entire planet is just one big city. It is the centre of the known galaxy and the centre of the Republic."
General Kenobi then went on to tell Sora, Donald and Goofy about beginning of the clone wars and everything that had transpired to this point. Sora found it very interesting, though his still could not keep his thoughts away from Kairi, wondering more and more on whether she was fine. The transport ship landed at the front of a large cubed building. General Kenobi had mentioned this place was the main home of the Jedi of the Republic. The four exited the transport ship with General Kenobi leading the way. The four of them travelled up a large number of giant steps before making it to the entrance of the Jedi Temple. Once inside Sora could not help but be taken away by large open area in which he now stood. Spiral stairways led to different rooms of the tower that was held up by several pillars. General Kenobi walked ahead. Sora, Donald and Goofy just followed closely, passing a large variety of unique alien species. He had never been to a world like this. Almost every individual was dressed identically in brown and sand brown robes. No one took any notice of these new arrivals and instead focused on their own activities. General Kenobi led Sora, Donald and Goofy with a few more stairs and down a corridor before coming to an elevator. When they were all inside General Kenobi pressed a button beside the door. Nobody said a word as the elevator delivered the four of them to the higher levels of the Jedi temple. It only took a few seconds which surprised Sora. When the doors opened again, Sora made his way straight to the nearest window. He looked out to the sight of Coruscant's skyline. He wished that Kairi was here with him. General Kenobi called Sora to follow him. This was no time for sightseeing. Sora obliged and followed without another word. The group journeyed down another small corridor. General Kenobi stopped at a closed door.
"Let me do the talking and only speak when you are spoken to." He told them. The doors opened and they all entered a seemingly round room surrounded by glass windows. Sora's first sight was of the several aliens sitting in a circle of chairs around the room. General Kenobi told them to stand in the centre of the room. He then made his way to one of the empty chairs and sat down in it.
"Welcome back General Kenobi." The smallest alien said, greeting him in. "Have important news do you?"
"Yes Master Yoda. Unfortunately General Grievous escaped with the help of an unknown..."
He paused as he looked from Yoda to Sora. "Sora will be able to tell you the rest."
Sora was not sure whether to speak after what General Kenobi had told them. There was a short silence. Yoda then asked Sora to tell them everything that had happened. Sora told them about their reason for being at Coruscant and their need for a stronger hyper drive to be able to travel to other universes. When he had finished, Yoda became very intrigued.
"Ah, pressing matters these are. General Kenobi. Reunite them with their friends take Sora, Donald and Goofy to. Very important this information is. Yes, discuss this we must." Yoda finished. Two soldiers in white armour entered the room and escorted the three out. Sora was a little concerned at first as he did not know where he was being taken now. The clone troopers led them back to the elevator. As Sora Donald and Goofy entered, they expected the clone troopers to enter as well. Instead the doors closed and the elevator descended. When the elevator doors opened again they were escorted out by another two clone troopers to a large hanger. They were led over to a very different looking ship to the one that they had arrived in. It looked more like a gunship than just a transport ship. Sora noticed a number of weapons upon it. He wondered why they were being taken on this ship. As they got closer they saw that the middle part of the gunship was just an open platform. One of the clone troopers gestured for Sora, Donald and Goofy to walk onto the platform.
"Take them back to the Senate building." The clone trooper yelled to the pilot.
"Yes sir." The pilot replied. To Sora's surprise, doors on both sides slid shut, trapping them inside. No longer able to see anything outside, Sora received a fright as he felt the ship lift off.
