(A/N) Ok, so not much happens in any way that I can contribute to making the opening to this episode different, and I am not gonna copy and paste. I heard your comments on Incredible Heroes and I agree (even though that was mostly for the smaller moments I did change, but moving past that), so I say I do us all a favor and just make a jump to the Open House time of the story since that is where things can get good.
It was a bustling time at the Open House, with everyone diligently preparing their projects for display. Teresa meticulously inspected her drone, ensuring that every component was in perfect working order. After attaching a small homing beacon to the drone, she entrusted it to Peni, who stood across the room. With a flick of the control, Teresa watched as the drone gracefully ascended and made a beeline for the beacon, landing with precision. To everyone's surprise, the drone released a "medical pack" that Teresa had cleverly concealed within its mechanics. As the pack gently descended, it became evident that it was simply an empty package box adorned with a cheerful smiley face that Peni had playfully drawn.
"You created an electric circuit inside the rose?" Liv Amara asked in surprise, seeing Karmi's experiment.
"I filled the xylem With a conductive polymer," Karmi explained, the two missing as Krei walked past.
"Wow, Karmi, this could give a whole new meaning to 'Power plants'," Liv said as she and Karmi laughed while Krei backed up and joined in.
That got them to stop and turn towards him, walking away sheepishly. May and Cass were making their way over as May and Peni saw Teresa bringing her drone back and Peter had his lenses set up connected to screens, showing off the various ways that the lenses can be used by a push of the button on the side.
"Hey, guys, have you seen Hiro?" Cass asked them.
" Oh, he's not here yet?" Honey wonders. "He said he was gonna meet us."
"I'm sure he'll be here any minute," Fred stated as he came over.
"OK, well, anyone want a cupcake?"
"Awesome."
"I could go for one."
"Thanks, Aunt Cass!"
"Clutch!" Fred cheered, noticing a slight problem. "Hmm, this is not gonna work..." He then grabbed the box and chugged it into his suit.
"If Hiro keeps flaking, he's gonna flunk out," GoGo whispered to the group.
"I am sure he will be here any minute," Peter said, noticing there was a crowd forming around them. "Uh..."
"Wow! Honey Lemon, all the big dawgs showed up to see your final project," Fred stated, seeing how everyone came to see her project.
"Big dawgs? No, no, don't say that." GoGo said.
"But I like big dawgs," Fred said. "GoGo, who doesn't like big dawgs?"
"Me," Teresa tells him. "Never say that again."
"Where is Wasabi with the wax cylinder?" Honey wonders.
That was when they noticed Wasabi trying to make his way through the crowd carrying the cylinder over his head. The crowd moved out of the way to help him make it through, seeing he was carrying something fragile.
"Excuse me." Wasabi tried to make his way around the people. "Ugh. Sorry, it took so long. I pushed the hummingbird to its limit." He explained what took him so long.
"Thank you, Wasabi!" Honey cheered.
"You need better hobbies," GoGo commented.
"Hey, when it comes in handy..." Peter shrugged.
"Ladies and gentlemen, for my final project, I am unraveling the mystery of Lenore Shimamoto's secret work as a scientist." Honey addressed the crowd. "I believe I have found the key. A recording made by Lenore Shimamoto herself!
"Are you sure this is authentic?" Grandvile asks.
"Uh-huh." Honey confirmed. "It was hidden in her lab. I believe she wanted a future generation to find it, and now we have." She then placed it into the machine and cranked it up. "We will be the first people to hear her speak in over a century."
"April 4th, 1907." The radio started off. "If you are listening to this, then you have proven yourself clever enough to follow the clues I left."
"Nerd power for the win." Wasabi proclaimed.
"Undoubtedly, you have uncovered the diagram under my painting, "City Rising." I preserved it for study only. Do not let yourself be tempted by blind ambition. To recreate my work will lead you down a pitch-dark path. I built a machine which I thought would create a source of unlimited power. However, that's not what happened. My experiment was responsible for... I am responsible for the Great Catastrophe."
That caused the room to gasp in shock to hear the news she was responsible for the catastrophe that destroyed half of the city and killed hundreds of people.
"The destruction, the devastation. I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry." And that was it.
"Hmm." Fred leaned in, not apparently understanding what was just said. "You might want to put on a happier wax cylinder next time. Ooh, maybe one with reggae?"
While Grandville was looking around at the research from Honey Lemon everyone else was just as shocked by what they heard. That was when Obake approached her and looked at the painting.
"Hello, Professor." Obake greeted her.
"Bob?" Grandville looked shocked to see him. "Bob Aken?"
"In the flesh." He confirmed.
"I- I haven't seen you since..." Grandville trailed off.
"Since my little accident?" Obake asked.
"What What happened back then..." Grandville said with regret. "I'm sorry."
"Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh." Obake said. "Sorry for what? You did exactly what was best for me. What was it you used to say? "You can't hold back genius"."
"A philosophy I've come to regret." Grandville commented.
"A pity," Obake said. "Your current protege deserves to be afforded the same creative freedom." Half of his face began to glow. "After all, you made me the man I am today. Wonderful to see you again." He then walked off past the team, which caused Peter's senses to warn him. "Fascinating presentation, Honey Lemon."
"Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" Peni asked in shock.
"Totally! That kid stole my sparkler idea!" Fred stated, seeing someone with a neverending sparkler.
"No, there!" Teresa turned Fred to face Obake who was heading back towards their labs.
"Obake's here? Obake's here!"
That was when Globby came into the room, slamming into the ground and reforming. "And he's not alone," Peter said in fear.
One of the visitors screamed when they saw Globby. "Jeez, lady, didn't your parents ever teach you it's rude to scream at strangers?" He then shot some goo at her mouth, causing her to muffily scream and run away.
Then they heard snarling and looked up as Venom came crashing down alongside Kraven the Hunter.
"I'm back. Hello! Can we take your order?" NBB asked as he entered with Momokase.
"Now it's a party," Momokase stated as she drew her blades.
"Uh-oh," Fred said in fear, summoning their suits. "All the bad dawgs showed up."
"Six of our enemies all in one place?" Peter asked in fear. "Oh, this is not going to end well."
Everyone was running in fear as the criminals opened fire, trying to summon the attention of the heroes. Grandville tried to use the security measures she had installed which were essentially robot spiders.
"Please evacuate in an orderly fashion!" Grandville said as everyone ran off.
"Bring it on!" Globby cried as he went and ate one of the robots. But that then caused the arms to spin and cut through him. "Oww!"
Momokase was quick as she sliced the robot quickly. "You are terrible at this, aren't you?"
That was when everyone returned with their gear all ready to fight. "Granville security bots." Fred noticed. "Sweet! Give them some room to do their thang!"
Then it didn't take long for Kraven to predict the patterns and stabbed one of the robots, following up Momokase who sped as fast as she could and sliced through one of them. That was followed by Kraven throwing his spear and impaling one. Venom grabbed one of them and chowed down on it like it was nothing.
"Thang"? Really?" Teresa asked.
The criminals all lined up and were preparing to strike. The heroes followed suit as they all got into a fighting position and were preparing to strike one of them off.
"Let's dance!" GoGo stated.
"You've got it, mister!" NBB said as he started to dance, causing everyone to stop and look at him. "Come on, everybody do the Noodle Do the Noodle, do the Noodle Come on, everybody do the Noodle."
"Noodle this!" GoGo threw her disk, knocking NBB on his back while everyone else went in to fight. Globby went for Fred as he stretched out his arms and tried to attack. But that didn't work as Fred leaped into the air and shot fire at him.
Right outside, Hiro was flying on Baymax after he finally figured out what Obake was planning.
"Hurry, Baymax, we've gotta get to my lab," Hiro said as they flew towards SFIT.
Momokase began to engage in a fight against Wasabi as their blades collided. "Scared of me?" Momokase asked.
"Uh, it's not you," Wasabi admitted. "It's everything!"
Back with Peter, he was slammed against the wall as Venom came charging towards him. Peter wasn't able to move fast enough He was slammed through the wall and smashed into the ground outside.
"Guess you're missing the black suit now!" Venom stated as he walked over to the hole.
"Oh, will you shut up, for the love of god!" Peter cried as he shot two webs towards Venom, using them as a slingshot to fly himself over towards Venom.
But that was a mistake as Venom grabbed him by the leg and slammed Peter into the ground again. "That's Parker and Spider-Man! You can quip it out, but you can't take it!" He then threw Parker away, slamming him into the ground.
Peter then tried to get back up, but the fighting was already draining a lot out of him due to the Symbiote's strength. When Venom leaped out for a final strike, Peter saw an opening as he shot several webs to create a cocoon to wrap around Venom. When he slammed into the ground, Peter got the chance to fight as he kicked Venom in the face, sending him flying.
Peter then got the chance to try and get back inside to help his friends as he leaped and shot out a web. But before he could escape, Venom latched onto his leg and slammed Peter back into the ground.
"And just so that we are clear when we are through with you, we will go after your aunt, your sisters, and everyone you ever loved," Venom promised, not realizing he began to fuel Peter's rage. "Even your little girlfriend!"
Peter then shot out two webs to the lamp posts and yanked them, causing the lights to fall and cash, causing a frequency to exit the speakers attached. Venom screeched in pain as he let Peter go. Peter then leaped up kicked Venom back and shot out a web to get back inside.
GoGo was currently in a fight against NBB as she sped into the air and threw her disks towards him.
"Now serving breakfast all day!" NBB cried as he squirted syrup from his hood, causing GoGo to slip and her disks to become too sticky.
"Syrup? Seriously?"
Teresa was currently in a fight against Kraven as she tried to shoot him with her tasers, but she only ended up watching as he dodged all of the strikes drew a laser knife, and went in to strike. She quickly used her jetpack to shoot herself far enough away that she could then use her wings as a weapon. She smacked Kraven, and she quickly flew into the air when Kraven sliced her wing, causing her to fall on her side.
"Can't suppose I can talk you into surrendering?" Teresa asks.
"When Obake had promised us power?" Kraven asked, drawing her spear but now with a laser point. "Power enough for Kraven? Don't be a fool!"
That was when Peni stepped in she blocked the strike and knocked Kraven backward. Using her mechanical suit, she dodged several strikes from Kraven, waiting for an opening. She punched him in the face, sending him flying. But he stopped himself with his spear and prepared to strike again. But Teresa got an idea as she picked up her drone and tossed the signal toward Kraven. He grabbed the device and chuckled.
"And what was this supposed to do?" Kraven asks.
"Nothing," Teresa said, amplifying the speed of her drone. "But this..."
The drone then flew off towards Kraven and smacked him in the face before Kraven could turn and see it coming in. He was knocked out, giving Teresa a moment as she sighed, looked at the drone, and looked at her pack.
"Hm.. something to think about," Teresa muttered, believing there was a chance she could use the drone for other things.
Fred and Honey Lemon were fighting against Globby. "Honey Lemon, toss one up, surprise me!"
Honey created a Chem-Ball and threw it into the air, allowing Fred to prepare to strike. "Batter up!"
But Globby turned his hand into a racket and smacked the ball back toward, them, causing it to explode and consume them in a pile of goo. "Advantage: Globby."
Obake was walking down the halls, reaching Hiro's labs and using an old ID card. It activated and granted him access to the labs.
"Still works," Obake commented, walking inside. "Feels like home." He then approached the desk where he saw Tadashi's hat and tossed it aside. "Now where, oh where..." He opened up the drawer and found the energy ampflyer. "Ah! The final piece."
Hiro and Baymax reached the labs and prepared to fight. "Put it down, Obake. It's over."
"Quite the opposite," Obake promised as he held the amplifier. "Things are just getting started."
"Blast him, Baymax!" Hiro demanded.
Baymax charged up a rocket fist, but instead of attacking Obake, it slammed and broke the window. "Oh why, thanks."
Then Obake leaped onto his getaway ride and flew off. Hiro jumped onto Baymax and prepared to fly.
"Come on, he's getting away!"
That was when they were stopped by a laser blast and looked to see NBB and the other members. "One laser-eye special coming up!"
When Baymax tried to fly off, Globby shot out a few fragments that latched onto Baymax. Then a net was shot and wrapped around them, stopping Baymax from using his rocket fist. It caused them to go crashing into the ground while everyone else got away.
"Come on, everybody do the Noodle Do the Noodle - Do the Noodle!" NBB was singing.
"Please, stop!" Momokase begged of him.
"Are you guys OK?" Honey asked as the others found Baymax and Hiro.
"We are without injury," Baymax said.
"But Obake got away," Hiro said with a sigh.
They returned to the labs and saw Grandville standing there in the destruction. "Students, is everyone all right?"
"Ah. We're fine, Professor." Fred said, getting GoGo to elbow him. "Ugh! I mean, complete stranger, whom we've never met."
"Enough with the charade, Mr. Frederickson," Grandville said.
"Huh? Wha? You know we're..."
"Big Hero 9? I see all." Grandville stated, getting them all nervous. "Calm down, your secret is safe with me."That got them to remove their helmets and Peni opened up the suit. "My primary concern is why the school was attacked - for a third time this semester."
"Yeah, are we counting the Spider-Island incident? Because that would make it 4," Peter commented.
"This was all my fault." Hiro sighed as he walked over to the drawer and closed it. "I disobeyed you. I created an energy amplifier. The good news is it worked."
"Let me guess the bad news." GoGo sighed.
"Obake has it." Hiro sighed.
"Obake?" Grandville asked.
"Yeah, you know, the creepy guy with the night light in his face?" Fred explained.
Grandville was surprised and gestured to the halls. "Follow me, all of you." She brought them to the office and brought out a file for Bob Aken. "Obake, once my star student. I knew him as Bob Aken. He had so many ideas to make the world a better place. I encouraged him to explore fearlessly. Unfortunately, the path he chose led him to the energy amplifier. He was not as successful as Mr. Hamada. The boy needed limits. I did not provide them. It was a mistake I never wanted to make again. However, it seems I have."
That shocked everyone that this whole thing started here in the same halls where they proclaimed to do good was the same place that created their enemy.
"His real name's Bob?" Fred was more surprised to hear.
As the day drew to a close, everyone dispersed to their respective homes, seeking respite for the night. GoGo made her way back to the apartment she shared with Honey, the weariness of the day weighing heavily on her. Just as she turned into the alley, a faint noise caught her attention.
She halted in her tracks, straining to discern its source. Suddenly, a creeping sensation of unease gripped her as she thought she caught a glimpse of movement in the shadows. Before she could react, a sinister, black web ensnared her leg, sending her crashing to the ground with a piercing scream that echoed through the darkness as she was pulled away into the unknown.
She was dragged down as she was raised upward and came face to face with Venom. She whimpered and almost screamed when Venom covered her mouth.
"Oh, no, no... we want to savor this." Venom proclaimed. "For soon... you will be one with us."
Peter sighed as he made it home and dropped down on his bed. "I can't believe this," Teresa said as she joined him. "Obake used to go to our school."
"So did the Jackal. And Connors." Peter reminded her. "You not going to the whole meetup Fred is doing?"
"Nah, Peni wanted to go, but I think I am going to turn in," Teresa said as she walked to bed. "You sure you're okay?"
"Baymax didn't say anything." Peter shrugged, groaning when he felt some pain. "I'll live."
Teresa nodded as she walked off, leaving Peter alone. Peter sighed as he lay down and his phone went off. He reached over and saw that it was GoGo and quickly answered.
"Hey, GoGo, what's up?" Peter asked. "Did you give in and go to Fred's?"
Then all he heard were muffled screams, causing him to jump up and wonder what is going on. "Peter Parker..."
"Eddie." Peter snarled. "If you hurt her..."
"We won't harm her," Venom promises. "But only if you meet us..."
"Where?" Peter asks.
"Hiro was supposed to meet us," Honey commented,
"It's definitely weird," Fred said as he looked at the board. "People who make elaborate conspiracy boards are usually pretty reliable."
"Obake has the magnet from the school," Wasabi remembered.
"And he was doing something in the bay," Peni commented. "Found that out after Steamer was defeated."
"What if he was turning H2O into D2O?" Wasabi asked, recognizing Fred was confused. "Heavy water."
"That could be used as fuel," Peni commented.
"Uh-huh, uh-huh," Fred said. "I mean, I don't get it, but uh-huh."
"We know he was obsessed with Shimamoto," Honey said as a thought popped into her mind. "The Great Catastrophe. He's trying to recreate the Great Catastrophe!"
"And he has everything he needs."
Hiro was being dragged off by Baymax who was controlled by Obake somehow getting a chip into Baymax's systems. "Do not." He warned Hiro in a ominous voice. "Resisting will result in further injury."
They landed outside of some sort of mining facility that leads down into the ocean. There they saw Venom was holding GoGo, tied up in webbing while he was holding her.
"GoGo?" Hiro was shocked to see her.
That was when Peter came in swinging, landing on the platform. He was alone. He sighed when he noticed Hiro. "Hiro?" He then noticed Baymax had red eyes. "Obake?"
"He somehow got control of Baymax," Hiro confirmed.
"Great." Peter sighed as he looked at Venom. "Let her go..."
"Oh, not yet!" Venom then stretched out and latched onto Peter. He wasn't resisting with GoGo's life on the line.
They were then dragged downward into the mines where they saw Momokase in the kitchen area cutting up food. She watched them being dragged through the halls. They saw Kraven fighting some dummies and then saw NBB and Globby playing cards.
"Golly, mister, I've got a Noodle Supreme with all the fixin's," NBB said.
"Ah, knock it off with all the fast-food jabber. It's confusing!" Globby cried.
That was when they passed the work table and there was a shocking site. The girl that Hiro met from the bot fighting, Trina, had only her head and was somehow alive. That was when they saw the wires and it was revealed that he was a robot.
"Hi, Hiro," Trina said.
"Trina?" Hiro said in shock. "Y-Y-You're a-"
"Robot," Trina confirmed. "Obviously."
"On any other day, that might seem strange," Peter said to GoGo who seemed to agree, even stopping from struggling and shrugged.
"Obviously," Hiro repeated as her body walked over.
"You never figured it out? That's so pathetic, it's cute." Trina said as they were dragged off.
"Hiro Hamada and Peter Parker." Obake greeted as he was staring at the screens, showing various moments of Hiro and Peter's life. "Finally... we meet face to face. After all we have been through together."
Obake then turned to them and smiled, his face glowing as he turned to see them finally arrive.
