Who is this creature?
Sasuke frowned. "And you are?"
She scoffed, arms akimbo. "Didn't expect anything less from the royal alpha."
He took an intimidating step forward, glaring her down. "How do you know who I am?"
She scoffed again, rolling her eyes. "Rude. Have you forgotten so easily?"
Disinterested, Sasuke turned away. He was trying to know who the human was because she knew him but if she was going to keep being irritating, she was not worth his little time knowing.
"Wait, don't go." She tried to grab his hand. "We're still talking."
The look he shot her was icy and wicked. "Touch me and you will die." He assured her, ignoring the way she shook and walked off without sparing her a glance.
He'd passed by the students, not caring about the way some glared at him or the way he was shoving people out of his way with a steady shoulder.
Only one stopped to look at the Alpha as his back retreated. He observed him with sunset coloured eyes til a smirk appeared on his face.
With a chuckle, he turned around and resumed his walk.
He would love a little drama.
The rest of the afternoon was a waste.
He hadn't seen him anywhere.
The campus was big, yes but it seemed like the heir was invisible.
He wasn't going to give up just yet. This was just the first day, but Sasuke was an impatient guy.
Right now, he was out in the open, out of the dreadful building and lecturers teaching about things or subjects he already knew.
He dipped his hands in his pockets as he sighed. He wanted to act and see the results fast but it was as if Fate was going against him.
He looked up, in an attempt to challenge the goddess, and that's when he saw her.
She was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers.
He could only see her side frame as she walked but his heart erupted into a volcanic fit. And he wasn't the only one feeling this.
His beast was growling deeply from within. He wanted to go and meet her. They wanted to meet her.
But he ignored the desire and continued to watch her, using all his might to stay calm.
Who was she? And how was she doing this to him? This might be because of the mate bound but this was crazy. When his mother had told him about it, he had not expected it to be like this.
He was almost losing his famous will power and self control.
He tore his gaze away from her, feeling that if he stared longer, he'll not be able to keep his control. Even at this point, he wanted nothing to do with her.
He had no time for this. He had to search for Kyuuseki's son and the girl in the prophecy, and bringing a mate, which he never desired to have, into this dangerous quest of his, that will determine the fate of Isekai and mayhaps this world, was the last thing he wanted to do right now.
You are a fool. His beast snarled inside him.
He shut his eyes and sighed. It is for the best. She and I will not be acquainted. We shall not have anything to do with one another.
That was what he said five minutes ago.
Now, he really didn't know where he was in the huge campus. All he knew was that he had followed her scent and found himself watching her from a little distance with her back facing him.
She was just standing there, infront of a withered tree and looking up at it's fruitless branches.
The scenery was peaceful and quiet. The wind rustled by in whispers and the small birds twitted, composing a song or two.
He didn't know when his legs moved but he found himself infront of her in a heartbeat, asking in a low and quiet voice.
"What are you?"
She shook, obviously startled. "B...Batman? Y... you're real?" She answered with her own question as she slowly turned around.
Sasuke frowned. Who the heck is batman? Why is she calling his name?
"Huh?" He heard her say when she finally faced him. "Who are you?"
It's not everyday you meet someone with a voice as deep, low and intimidating as Bruce Wayne when he's Batman. Which was why when she heard the voice, her mind instantly pictured the dark knight.
But the man she was facing right now, was not in any way Batman or Bruce Wayne.
He was tall, so tall that her head barely passed his shoulders. His hair was jet black and silky, side bangs fell past his chin while the back was spiky and pulled up so that it looked like a duck's behind.
What a weird hairstyle.
But that didn't disrupt his beauty. Sakura noticed.
His eyes were dark, she couldn't even see the pupils, and the sclera made it more prominent. His eyebrows were sharply and beautifully arched. His nose stood out tall and proud, and his jawline was chiseled and sharp, like a sculpture's.
He was devilishly handsome, but she didn't know him nor has she seen him before in her life.
He seemed stunned for a reason. His eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly open.
And what had he said before? What was she?
What am I?! What kind of question was that?!!
She opened her mouth to confront the handsome stranger before her when, suddenly, he closed the distance between them and placed his fingers on her chin, raising it up to meet his face. A frown appeared on his face as his eyes rapidly searched hers.
Shocked and not expecting that move, Sakura pulled away as quickly as he came, her heart threatening to bleed from its chambers.
She stared at him bewildered, her eyes wide and confused.
What the heck is wrong with this dude? She took a step backward, watching him as he continued to look at her, his frown deepening.
Is he a serial killer?
Her eyes searched the surrounding for something to defend herself in case he did anything funny.
When she saw him move, she brought out a palm and he halted.
"Don't move!" She saw a stick at the corner of her eyes and picked it up, not taking her eyes off him. "If you dare move or approach me, I will use this against you."
Sasuke was confused. What is happening? "I want to ask you a question... and that's a stick."
She spared it a glance. "I know it is but it can do more damage that you can ever imagine." Just add more spice to it with confidence and make it seem like it's possible. I am not taking any chances. She steadied her gaze on him. It's always the handsome ones.
His lips turned into a thin line. He took a step forward again, only for her to move back and violently shove the stick, poking the air with it.
"I said don't move." She gritted, looking serious.
Sasuke almost looked up. This crazy creature is my mate? Really, Selene? "Ok fine, I will just ask from here."
She looked at him from head to toe and straightened. "Suit yourself."
Not thinking, he moved forward only to stagger back when she shook the stick again.
"I said don't."
What is she... Sasuke shook his head. This was silly but he'll play along just to keep her sanity. "Just...what are you exactly?"
That question again. "Ok, number one, you don't ask somebody what the person is, you ask who. That's considered rude and sinister."
"What?" He glowered.
"I mean, you look like a serial killer." She tightened her hold on the stick. "I am not taking my chances."
"Why..." Sasuke massaged his temples. How did it come to this? "Just...ok fine, who are you?"
She lowered her weapon slightly. "What's it to you?"
"I just want to know the kind of creature you are." She could be a shape shifter.
Sakura scoffed. "I have two ears, two nostrils, I walk on two legs and I have one mouth. Well, of course I'm an Ostrich."
Sasuke thought about it. "You certainly don't look like one. Do you have feathers?" He took an unconscious step forward.
She poked the air with the stick violently, warning him.
He closed his eyes as he groaned. "And would you put that stick down?!!"
"I will never." She answered in a creepy tone, shaking her head.
He groaned again. Selene, why? "It's just that you look human, but you don't look like a normal human being."
She gasped.
"No no, not what I meant." He placed a hand on his forehead. "You have natural pink hair and green eyes, not all humans have that hair with the green eyes."
"Well, why didn't you say so instead of being weird?"
"I'm being weird? Do you know how you look like right now?"
She paused for awhile, thinking, before raising the stick. "So, you're not a serial killer?" Though she knew that a serial killer won't admit that he is a serial killer.
He sweat dropped. Never has he been referred to the lowest form of evil. "You're downgrading me."
"Eh?! You're more than that?!"
"No." He breathed sharply. "Listen, tell me where you're from." In Isekai. Raikanrando? Kyuuketsuki no kuni?
She eyed him suspiciously. "And what if I do?"
"What do you think?"
She didn't answer. She just stared at him.
"Well?"
"Well what? Do you think I'll tell you anything?"
Sasuke huffed out through his nose as he looked from her stick to her. He knew how silly it was but he was going to save her sanity for now, seeing how she had no trust in him.
"Are you human?" He asked in a bored tone.
"No, I'm a robot." She answered, coating her tone with honesty. She pulled out an arm and hung her elbow so it would look like it was dangling, and made a robotic sound. "See? My arm can break and twist."
Sasuke glared at her. She was making fun of him. "You are human."
"No, I'm an alien...of course I'm human! What do you think I have this," she hovered her hand over her face, "this," she poked her head, "this," she kicked her feet, "and this for?", she wriggled her arms. "And how do you think I can communicate properly?!"
She stopped when she saw his jaw harden and his gaze reduce their intensity dangerously.
"You're human." He repeated, looking away, clenching his fist. This was impossible. A human could never... He looked at her. "I must've been mistaken."
She raised a confused brow. What is he talking about?
Maybe him denying the need for a mate for too long was taking it's toll on him. Yes, that was it. This human was not his mate. Selene would never. She had done it before but she knew the dangers now. She would never.
"We weren't meant to cross paths." He told her. "Let's never meet each other again."
Excuse you?
He turned around and started to walk away.
Sakura was bamboozled. Why did it feel like she'd just gotten dumped before anything could even start.
"Hey!" She yelled at his retreating back. "You were the strange one who approached me first!! I don't even know you!" Crazy dude with a duck butt hairstyle. She huffed out, breathing heavily.
Some guys were impossible!
He just appeared out of nowhere, touched her like he knew her forever and said that they should never meet again.
She was flustered and confused. The heck did all that mean?!
She threw the stick away and dragged her face down with her hand. Her pride felt busted and smashed and she didn't like it.
She glared at the direction the strange guy had passed through. Oh, how she wished she could pay him back. She breathed out slowly. Calm and steady, Sakura, calm and steady.
She ran her hand through her hair, realizing that her hood had slipped off, and put it back on.
Her phone began to ring. She pulled it out from her jeans pocket and tapped the answer button. "Hello?"
"Hi." An unfamiliar voice greeted her back.
She frowned and took a look at the screen, seeing a private number on it.
She groaned in regret. She should've looked at the screen before answering, but it was too late now.
Curiosity taking over, she put the phone back to her ear.
"To whom am I speaking?"
