"Ok, hold on. You're not killing anyone." He heard Naruto say as he grabbed his shoulder. "Remember we do not touch humans. You might end up on the sick bed for days."

The line was intact and Naruto had listened to all his thoughts.

His tempered breathing became forcefully controlled as he snapped out of his bloodlust, but that didn't stop the glare he was giving the boy.

He clenched a fist. "I do not like it."

Naruto's grip tightened. "Sasuke, listen..."

"She is my mate." He growled, shifting his glare to Naruto.

"Yes, she is, and if you keep doing that, these people will find out about what we are."

The Alpha continued to glare at him as if warning him to let go or he'll let his anger take control.

But that was it. Naruto blinked, hesitating to let go. Sasuke could easily free himself but he knew he was trying his possible best to keep the act infront of the humans.

"Don't kill him." He paused. "Or injure him. The underworld's probably booked right now."

Sasuke did not answer. The scent of his mate with another was killing his senses right now even as they were no longer near him.

Wouldn't want to have anything to do with his mate? Screw that.

An irkmark appeared on the curled up fist he was making.

"Alpha?" Naruto raised his hand slowly from his best friend's shoulder, looking at him skeptically.

Sasuke turned around, replying in a low grunt. "I make no promises."

And then he was gone.

Naruto put a palm to his face. He really felt like Shikamaru right now, but he hoped that Sasuke won't do something that will render him vulnerable for the next week or month.

The air around him suddenly picked up and the hair on his ears rose as a fragrance hit his nose, halting his senses.

The world seemed to have stopped at that moment. He turned around slowly just as another figure was turning with him.

"Mate." They spoke simultaneously, each matching their own shock.

He finally faced her. An indigo haired woman who had pearly white eyes met his gaze. Just seeing her made his insides tingle, but something else was in her scent.

His mate...

"You're a Gorgon?"

Sakura gritted his teeth as the frown on her face deepened.

Ino-piggg

Her blonde friend had left her with Kosei as soon as she was called into the Dean's office, meaning she had finished her meeting with Hinata.

Kosei was just beside her. He didn't talk or say anything. He was just silent, which was odd, considering the personality he had.

But he still made her uncomfortable, even just standing there and looking at her while she attended to the vending machine.

She glanced at him. "Don't you like...have classes?"

He dipped his hands into his pockets as his eyes searched the surrounding. He shrugged. "I rarely do."

"Really?" She focused her attention on the machine, watching as her snack slowly tried to escape the coils. "What course are you taking?"

"Not much."

She frowned and looked at him. It was obvious his mind was elsewhere. That's when she saw him staring at a direction to his right.

He was looking at something...no, someone, but the person was too far away for her to make out the physique. It might just be a passing shadow.

Kosei faced her. "Sorry, but it seems like I have to go."

"Class?" She asked, not giving him attention as she bent over to pick up her Tamasan Jyoshinko.

"No." He answered, glancing at the person. "I hope we meet again, Sakura."

"If it's not class, then..." Her words trailed off as she stared at an empty space, the place Kosei was supposed to be.

She looked around. Where...how did...?

She frowned in confusion as she faced the direction he had had his attention to not long ago. It was as if he had vanished.

She shrugged, closing her eyes. Oh well. At least she had time for herself now.

She turned around, ready to munch on her snack with glee when she bumped into a hard wall.

She opened one eye. What is a wall doing in front of the pathway for students?!

Oh.

Oh wait.

She opened her second eye. It wasn't a wall. It was just a chest, a really broad chest.

She looked up at who she had bumped into and jade clashed with onyx.

She blinked at the handsome owner of the firm and broad chest in front of her face. He looked... familiar.

Then her eyes caught sight of his haircut which was the style of a duck's behind, and realization dawned on her. Her eyes widened as her mouth opened.

"Duckbutt dude?!!"

"So, you are a Gorgon." The spiky blonde Beta stated as he focused his attention on the woman before him. "Why are you living in the human world?"

They were in a restaurant just opposite the University. His mate had asked to speak with him here so they could discuss privately.

She had her head down and would not look up at him. "I...I... I have my reasons." Her voice was soft and gentle, it sent chills up his spine.

"But..." He remembered the Gorgons in Isekai.

They are a clan, the Hyuga clan. There was a particular male Gorgon who had this proud and dominant aura around him. He was like Sasuke, except Sasuke gave off worse vibes. What was his name? Ah yes, Neji.

That guy was far from friendly. He was always scowling at everyone he came in contact with, except one. That excluded one was his mate, a female Gorgon who had her hair in twin buns. He acted differently with that one.

He thought of his Alpha, Sasuke. He had just met his mate, someone who he had vowed never to get involved with. He guessed the mate bond wasn't something to take lightly. Apart from that, she was a human. How would Sasuke take care of the dangers that were now hovering around his mate?

To Naruto, it didn't really matter who your mate was, but his Luna's life, wether human or not, was on the line.

Sooner or later, Sasuke will find out about his mate and will ask questions. For example:

Why was a Gorgon living in the human world?

Away from her dwelling place?

Were the Gorgons trying to betray their alliance and stab them in the backs?

If not, why then would she be given a free pass without any solo investigation outside of their territory?

Gorgons were known to be secretive and they minded their own business, except for the impending war, that is.

He knew Sasuke. He will ask those questions. He was a very sceptical person with a lot of trust issues.

"Can you please tell me your reasons?" If anything came to be, he needed to prepare answers. He was still the Beta of the first divisional pack in Raikanrando.

"Ano...well, you see ..." He watched as her eyes roved to the sides. "I...I...I had stolen away from home, in hopes to see the world." She looked up at him. "It was alluring and I wanted to see more of it."

He stared into those pearly eyes of hers. "So, your reason for leaving home was to feed your curiosity and in the process, you got involved with this world." He stated, trying to understand.

She looked away. "They were going to force me to do something I didn't want to do."

His eyes widened. "Which is?" When she was silent, he withdrew himself. "Please, if you don't want to."

"My..my.. my father wanted me to drink of the serpent's basin."

Naruto's eyes widened some more. The liquid in the serpent's basin was the Gorgon's greatest treasure. It held great power. It was said that anyone who drank of it would have powers like that of the gods and goddesses. It was the only oracle, in Isekai, that possessed that much power so many had attempted to have it for themselves.

They had failed. Every creature who had tried, failed, for some reason unbeknownst to them.

Many said that it was the guardian of the serpent's basin, others said that it was the spirit of Medusa, but nobody was sure.

Drinking of the serpent's basin not only brought great power, it also brought great anguish.

The Gorgons had tried even their own people to drink from it and acquire the powers but each and everyone of them hadn't survived through to the second phase of feeling the liquid circulating through their bodies and in their blood streams.

They always ended up decapitated or fried from inside or sliced to smithereens from their internal organs.

But the Gorgons still continued to test their people.

They haven't learned. Naruto clenched his fists. "Why would he do that?" His frown deepened. She could die! Doesn't Hiashi care about that? Even his own daughter?

She gave a short, nervous laugh. "I don't know. He... he doesn't like me."

Naruto scoffed. "Does he like anybody?" He knew how the Gorgon leader always had a frown on his face.

"Please, let me beg of you." She slowly raised her head. "I don't want them to find out about the little piece of information I just gave you or about my whereabouts."

Naruto regarded her. She had fled for freedom and safety.

Still, if they had wanted to find her they would've done so, a long time ago. But why hadn't they? Something was up.

"I will not, you have my word." Technically, Shikamaru's supposed to be the one using his brain like this.

This was too much thinking.

She looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you."

Silence settled in the atmosphere, until he broke it.

"But we might as well consummate our mate bond."

Her face instantly went red. "C...c...con... consummate?" She hiccuped. Think of something else to say. "You...you don't mind that I'm not a lycan?"

"Who cares about that?" He blinked, utterly clueless. "Lycan or not, you are my mate. " He paused before adding. "Selene probably had a reason for pairing us." Just as she has a reason for making a human our Luna."

"Ah.. ah." She looked down, blushing hard. She didn't even know him but he seemed like a good guy.

Naruto looked up, deep in thoughts. Now, how would he break this to Sasuke? He couldn't guarantee that the Alpha would take it as easy as he did.

And where the heck was Shikamaru?!

...

"The lycan Alpha, the one from the royal family, has arrived."

"Souka. And the girl?"

"She would be dead before then."

A low hum followed, reverberating the dark room.

...

Souka- is that so? or I see.
