Itachi sat at the mahogany table in his office, his nose buried in the papers and maps he was studying while analysing all the information he's received.
Three times. His mind railed as he studied a particular portion of land on a wide Isekai map. Three times have the demons attacked after declaring war two years ago. One, at the central part of Raikanrando, the west and Drakkodo, the land of dragons. Just yesterday, after attacking the central part of their land, they'd moved to Drakkodo. And there have been sightings of them in the east.
Itachi hummed thoughtfully as he eyes roved around the lines, drawings of lands, valleys, streams of water and ocean marked on the map. The west side of the map was occupied by the lycans and warewolves, the central part was where Dragons lived. Towards the east was the home of the Gorgons. The vampires and sirens occupied the north and north east region respectively, while the south, south east and west was home to the Centaurs, gnomes and other creatures.
So far, the demons have only managed to attack the central and some parts in the west. A frown formed on his face as a thought crossed his mind. He placed a pointed finger on the cardinal point of the map and trailed it to the west, hovered around it a little before trailing it backwards to the east. It was just a straight line, starting from one point to another, but trailing the movements and attacks of the demons, it was as if the ends were facing up towards the north. Not everything was what it seemed. He withdrew his finger.
The arrow of Leviathan.
It is said that this sign was used many years ago to depict a devious or unfortunate event in a land. While he was observing the ways of the other world many, many years ago, he had come across a group of people called the Aztecs. They were powerful and promoted human sacrifice as a way to appease their god. They were also very demonic and had all these series of signs and procurement of how their lives were run.
He hadn't joined them. He had only watched from afar with attentive red eyes in his beast form, every time, every day. To him, what they did was sick but he didn't interfere. He'd seen the sign while he was monitoring them. The priest, who wore waistcoats, always used them when prophesying evil upon the land on his own will.
At first, he thought the old man was crazy after seeing him shout into nothingness but after two days, the whole land would be blood bathed and smelling of corpses, and the old man would be laughing at it all with the five teeth remaining in his gum.
There was something else, the arrow of Leviathan wasn't just a sign for an unfortunate event to occur, the person who incites it has to be very powerful for the unfortunate event to prosper, but the person can only incite it once in his/her lifetime. That being said the old man was probably a servant of Lucifer.
An irkmark formed on the side of his face. Tch, the demons are desperate if they want bloodshed before the war.
His thoughts were disturbed when he heard a knock at the door. He raised his head from the piles of paper. "Come in."
The door opened and his generals came in, they walked towards his desk and bowed to him.
"Itachi sama." Konan straightened, her sleepy orange eyes darting at the scattered papers on his table. "You called for us?"
"Yes." He looked from the one to another, carefully analysing their appearance since they'd heard about their comrades' deaths. "How are your statuses?"
"I..."
"I want to kill that dipshit." Hidan said, cutting off Sasori who sighed.
"Yes, but you can't kill the deadly sins."Konan tried to explain. "You can only render them useless for a long period of time."
Hidan rolled his eyes. "Bullshit. I want to stick his shitty face up his ass hole and drag it upwards to those goddamn parts, destroying every inch of his fuc..."
"It's a war," Yahiko interrupted carefully, "someone will die."
"The son of a bitch is right." Hidan averted his gaze to a large window few feet from him.
"Honestly, I want to deal with the sins too but we're aware that something like this will happen." Deidara shrugged.
"I could be the next to die for all I kno..." Sasori tried saying but he was cut off again.
"Shut your shitty trap you dipshit of a fuc..."
"Any new intel?" Itachi asked, looking at them.
Kisame cleared his throat. "Yes, Itachi sama, the sightings of the demons in the east has increased greatly."
"What the hell are they fuc..."
"How do they seem to behave?"
"They haven't done anything, so it seems. They just walk around and buy things in the market."
Deidara frowned. "What do demons want with Gorgon food and accessories?"
"Nothing." Itachi answered as he spread out the map on the table, covering the scattered papers. "They've been in three lands so far: Attacking the central, attacking few sections in the west, and seen in the east, forming this straight line from the cardinal point on to x and -x, which in turn stretches upwards to the north, from both sides, like one narrow line of bloodstreams defying the law of gravity."
"The fuc...?"
Konan gasped. "The arrow of Leviathan."
Itachi nodded and proceeded to tell them what its significance was and how he'd found it out. When he was done, Hidan grunted.
"That is a one disturbing shit."
"They want something." Itachi said. "They're forming the sign of the arrow of Leviathan and the east is their recent stop."
"I have a shitty feeling about this."
"What do the Gorgons have that is so special?" Sasori asked, staring into space.
"They have that serpent's basin shit but we might as well just be getting manipulated into doing what those assholes want."
"Stupid face is right." Deidara turned to Itachi. "It might be a trap and it might not be."
"As far as we know, that's the only powerful oracle in Isekai at the moment." Kisame said. "We'll inform the Gorgon leader about what we think of the situation, and tell him to strengthen the military power surrounding his land." Kisame said.
Itachi interlocked his fingers. Aggravating tricksters..
"There's one more thing, Itachi sama."
Itachi turned his attention to the blue haired general.
"The Supreme Alpha knows of your brother's mate."
Itachi frowned.
"...and that she is human."
His eyes widened a little. How... "What?"
Konan looked down. "We just found out ourselves."
He was shocked. He didn't even know about it. "How did the Supreme Alpha find out?"
"He had Danzo have a lycan spy on him in the human world."
Hidan's nose twitched when he heard the name. "That one eyed shitty son of a gun."
"Danzo." Itachi hands clenched but his face didn't portray any emotion.
It was his idea.
"I want to explode the tissues of his brain." Deidara said as he looked towards the heavenlies.
"Tell Sasuke to come back home." Itachi peered at Kisame. "I want to speak with him."
Shikai stood by the evergreen tree behind the campus, flicking a lighter unto the end of a cigarette stick. When he got the burning end he needed, he blew out the lighter and put it into his pockets, keeping his hand there. He lifted the cigarette in his other hand to his lips, but stopped mid way when he sensed a presence behind him.
A smirk made its way to his lips, but he didn't turn around. "Do you need anything, Alpha Sasuke?"
"Follow me." That was the only reply that came from him and he was gone.
Shikai dropped his hand, chuckling dryly. He let the cigarette drop to the ground, stepping on it before going after him. They ended up in the woods, far far away from the school and from prying eyes.
He looked around, noticing the tall scantily fruity trees around them before laughing forcedly. He placed his hands on his hips as he regarded the Alpha infront of him. "You're awfully arrogant, you know that?" He shook his head and huffed. "It's so infuriating."
The wind howled and the dried leaves on the ground danced upwards, then twirled. Sasuke was no more infront of him.
"You followed anyway."
Shikai was quick to move when he heard the alpha's voice from behind him. He leapt to the other side, watching him with keen eyes. He would've attacked me from behind. He heard how menacing the voice was and sensed the aura that was radiating from him.
He grinned. "Is this why they call you the fiery menace?" He didn't see it but the Alpha was infront of him within seconds, raising a fist.
"You talk," he said as his fist made contact with Shikai's nose, crushing it hard, "a lot."
The vampire was sent flying back, hitting a tree on impact and dropping to his feet. He glared at the Alpha. I'll make him pay.
Normally, vampires were faster than warewolves but the Alpha wasn't just any warewolf, he was a lycan who possessed the royal blood, and he was known for his mercilessness.
He came at the Alpha with full speed and they ended up exchanging fists, kicks, uppercuts and headbutts. A strong wind swiveled around them as they continued to use their speed and intense strength to attack each other.
Shikai shapeshifted into a serpent and slithered around the Alpha's body, digging its fangs into his skin, trying to project poison into the bloodstream. Sasuke's hand transformed into a claw and he ripped the serpent off his body as it tried to suffocate him, slicing the sides of its body.
The serpent changed forms. It turned into a centaur, running towards the Alpha and raising a huge fist. Centaurs were known for their strength, and that was what he was going to use, mustering all he had, but his fist was stopped, and behind it was the alpha tilting his head and regarding him with a raised eyebrow.
"Fool." Sasuke muttered, his brow dropped and his face became expressionless. He held the fist with one hand and gripped the centaur's neck with the other, raising it till its hooves dangled in the air and hitting it on the ground with full force.
The centaur coughed and fled from the spot. Fine then, nothing's working against you, I'll shape shift into your match. Bones cracked as he got bigger, tissues cried out as he got larger. Scales replaced the body of the centaur, followed by strong dark horns, sharp teeth, forked tongue, sick bloody eyes, wings like that of a bat but bigger, long thorny tail, a long neck and four big hind limbs. Before long, Sasuke was facing a full fledged fire breathing dragon.
It inhaled and out came balls of fire in its exhale. Sasuke dodged them, jumping from one spot to another while observing it. The dragon charged at him, hitting every spot he landed on with fire, giving him no chance to escape or think.
Sasuke looked around as he dodged the fire attacks. The trees surrounding them were up in flames, black smoke filled everywhere, and the atmosphere was choking. Fortunately, there were no humans around. If they heard noises, it'll probably take hours for them to come searching here.
An amber light by his side grabbed his attention. He stopped running, just in time to see the direction the fireball was aiming. Then, with speed, he jumped on a huge hump of rock by a withered tree, using it as a brief projection into the air. When the dragon saw that he was above it, it widened its jaw and lava could be seen forming under the uvula. Sasuke watched it keenly as he dropped down, respecting the law of gravity.
The lava flew out of its mouth in a frenzy, sizzling in the air until there was no more. The dragon let down its head as black smoke came out of his big nostrils and mouth in a huff. It looked around with huge sick bloody eyes. Seeing no sign of the alpha, it nodded its head in approval.
Foolish of him to be airborne when I had the advantage. Good riddance, an... That's when it noticed something between its eyes. It was the Alpha and he was holding on to one of its horns, staring down at him as if disappointed.
He was shocked. How did he escape my volcanic blast? He was just there! Furious, he raised one sharp claw, charging it towards his body quickly, but the Alpha was faster.
One of his hands transformed into a claw and he dug it into its bloody eye, piercing through the sclera into the iris and pupil and further still before pulling out his hand, drawing some of the bloody eye parts with him.
The dragon shrieked out in pain as it fell back, dropping with impact to the ground before returning to its natural form.
Sometimes winning a battle isn't all about fighting, you have to observe, analyse and create possible outcomes to every decision you make. Sasuke had observed the surrounding while he was dodging the dragon's attacks, and being airborne wasn't one to his disadvantage. He had calculated the precision of his landing in accordance to direction of the wind and the estimated move of the dragon, gifting him a solid spot between the humps of scales on its head.
Sasuke was atop him, one knee down on the ground while the other was upright, supporting his elbow. "You're weak." He grabbed his collar with one hand and punched the spot where his eye used to be, ignoring the wide cut he'd made on his neck, and the blood that flowed out.
"You're not the heir." The heir would've been able to put up a really good fight based on his abilities, like Masashi. This one was probably an imposter sent to play the heir, being given a little of the heir's blood. He punched the eye spot hard again, ignoring the way blood spilled all over his hand, sleeves and shirt. "You wasted my time."
He remembered the time he'd met him. It was at a one time gathering between the lycans and vampires, before the pale freaks joined the enemy side. Kyuuseki had introduced him as his son and as the vampire heir.
Tch. It was a lie. Kyuuseki had an imposter play his son while he was shielding the real one from the world. He punched the vampire again with an emotionless expression, ignoring the sound of cracking bones.
Shikai tried to cough but even that was painful enough for him. He couldn't turn into a bat since his strength was gone from him. He was bleeding profusely from both his neck and eye socket.
The confidence of the creature beneath him when he was talking to him earlier, even though he knew he was acting, flashed through Sasuke's mind and he hit him again, his face still devoid of any emotions. "You deceived me."
He remembered the face he'd seen during the meeting. He punched him again, ignoring the cut on the side of Shikai's temple and the blood that dripped. Then he raised his hand, transforming it to a claw.
You even had the guts to talk ill of my mate. With that thought, he dropped his claw into Shikai's chest, digging into it as blood gushed out. Ignoring the cry of Shikai, he dug further, tearing any obstacle out of the way till he reached his target and gripped it. Then he drew out his bloody hand, pulling the beating organ with it.
He held it above him, staring down at Shikai as the vampire's eyes slowly rolled upwards, sensing the slow rate at which the beating heart dropped.
"Now that's a wonderful sight to see."
Sasuke turned his head and saw two familiar people walking towards him. He sneered and dropped the organ to the ground. He rose from the corpse beneath him, and faced the two lycan generals, Kisame and Konan.
"What are you doing here?"
