Oh to be loved
Chapter 3 : It's been a long time
Manny and Benny were playing soccer with Mirabel and Socorro was keeping score as Carmen needed a break since she was out with Luisa and Gloria having a girls day. Manny and Benny adored Mira they have ever since they met and they knew Miguel had a crush on her, Even before they got married they were always playing with her and sometimes they got her on the pranks and Antics; sometimes Miguel caught them laughing at a joke or a prank.
This particular day was sunny and beautiful, Mirabel had her day off so particularly when she had these types of days she would spend them with family and it was beautiful she quite enjoyed the games.
It was boys versus girls and they were tied Rosa was of blocking the defence as Socorro sat watching as it was the last quarter of the match and the boys were determined to win.
"You got this Mira!" Rosa shouted from the goal
Abel was on the other goalie and was determined not to let her win, Enrique and Elena watching with smiles at the game.
"You'll never win". Manny smiled trying to dissuade her
She kept an eye on the ball her feet moving fast as she ran and moved toward but not before Manny made the intersection and stole the ball from his Prima. Benny was cheering waiting for his brother to make the goal.
"We're gonna win". Benny shouted
"I doubt it". Rosa retorted
Mirabel been quick to surrender or so they thought, Miguel had come out with some drinks and watched as they played.
"Mijo your wife is quick". Enrique said
"That's Mira for you". He smiled
"I'll say That again everyday she does something new". Berto replies
Miguel shook his head and laughed at the sight that he was seeing and he couldn't help but be more and more grateful for her everyday. She was his whole world and that was something he cherished and loves more than anything else.
Meanwhile Benny was waiting for Mirabel to make a move and so something as she was usually quick.
"Come on Mimi you can do better than that". Manny cried
Mimi was the name Manny, Benny and Socorro used for her when they got to know her better and as much as she liked the name she wouldn't budge. For a minute the boys thought they upset her and went to see if she was okay.
Mirabel knew she couldn't stay mad at them even if it was just ' pretend ' she adored them all and wouldn't trade it In for the world.
"She's tricking you". Miguel yelled out
Benny then looked at Mirabel and noticed her face had a faint smile and he was outraged as she ran past him and kicked the ball into the goal.
"Oh man, that's no fair I call default ". Abel stated
They looked expectantly at Socorro and waited for her answer.
"I call goal". She answers
Rosa and Mirabel cheered in victory as manny and Benny excepted their fate and congratulated the girls and hugged them.
"We'll get you next time". They both declared
Mirabel smiled and sighed as she chuckled and went over for a drink of lemonade and the twins followed and each took a glass of poured lemonade.
"I still think that was unfair ". Manny pointed out
"Sometimes life is unfair hermano, there's nothing to fix it". Rosa smiled
"It's true but sometimes things can turn out they way you least expect it". Mirabel replies
"Like our bedtime ". Manny said
Elena laughed along with Franco smiling and Enrique sighed with his brother.
"Not quite Mijo ". Berto replies
"But close enough right?" Socorro nodded
Miguel nodded chuckling.
"But sometimes the unfair things have a sweet reward". Mirabel said
"Like what Mimi?" Socorro asked
"Well…" She stopped as she brought out some homemade tres leches ice cream in small portions
The kids gasped at the little trick and smiled as she brought around the ice cream for everyone smiling.
"Mi vida did you make this?" Miguel asked
She nodded and smiled.
"Mija it looks delicious ". Enrique said as he took a spoonful
"I'm glad you like it Papá ". Mirabel replies
So as they ate their ice cream, Miguel led her into the kitchen she was curious at what he was doing.
"Que?" She asked
"I love you". He said as kissed her softly
She kissed him back she was leaning back on the dining table to support her weight keeping her legs from collapsing.
He looks her directly in the eyes and sighed.
"How long have you wanted to do that?" She asked
He smirked and chuckled.
"Too long, way too long". He whispered
Mirabel felt her cheeks turn crimson as he was this close to her she felt like stars could cross their fate if they were any closer.
"Please?" He asked his voice turned deep
She nodded as she went and kissed him deeply and passionately, Then as they pulled apart they chuckled lightly at their own antics.
It doesn't matter how many times he kissed her he felt like it would always be something new everyday for him to experience just like their first kiss.
They slow danced and spun around together loving this time they spent and sighed, Miguel then dipped his wife gently.
She laughed at his antics. Every time she laughed it would melt his heart and he would fall in love over again, Since the day she came into his life it would be something he would not miss for anything.
"You senor Rivera are sly". She smiled
"I take that so proudly thank you very much". Miguel replied
"I'm guessing you want to put that on me as well". She coaxed
"No not in the slightest ". Miguel smiled
"Then what?" She smiled
"To kiss your beautiful lips beacause it's been far too long". He went in for a kiss but she stopped him.
"Hold your horses there Musico you think I'm gonna come to you just like that?" Mirabel asks
Miguel looked down at his boots guilty that he had done such a thing.
"You earn this". She replied she walked away with a spring in step her eyes darting back a little bit
He followed after his wife keeping from being sly chuckling softly.
"I like how you play Mi Amor ". He growled lowly
