He is supposed to inform the leaders, tell them that he has found the prophecy as he'd promised before he suffers the consequences, as he'd promised. They now have what they've been searching for, so why was he suddenly reluctant to hand her over?

He'd do anything for the peace of his world but he didn't feel like letting her go. She'd have to die. He didn't think he was going to let that happen. Somehow, it felt like she was more his world than the world he lived in. Everything in his life seemed to revolve around her now.

Realisation dawned on him just then. Sakura was his world, his vitals. Without her, he felt crazy, incomplete. He wasn't about to feel what he'd felt when she was unconscious for days because of him. He wasn't about to lose her just yet.

He didn't know if what he was feeling was because of the mate bond but it was lighter. It weighed nothing. It didn't feel like something was propelling him to feel this way or additional feelings were being added forcefully into his heart. It felt like a little light surging from the bottom of his depths. He didn't know how to classify this feeling but he knew that he felt at peace, and he knew that he wanted this feeling to last.

The ruler and leaders will have to give him space. He was going to be selfish for a little while.

He winced, pulling out of his thoughts when a hand landed on his cheek, hard and when a leg rounded up his waist and isolated itself there on his thigh.

Sakura had turned around, throwing her arms and legs in whatever direction as she continued to sleep. Sasuke closed his eyes in annoyance, still feeling the sting on the side of his face.

Then he opened his eyes and stared at her. She was facing him. He shook his head as he rounded an arm around her small body, bringing her closer enough to rest her head on his chest as he placed his jaw on her head, hearing her mumble something incoherently. Whatever will I do with you, you crazy woman of mine?
