The king awaited patiently for the arrival of the summoned heroes, it was a risky gamble he had made as Aultcray had summoned the devil of the shield to the heart of his country, but the Waves were a bigger threat to worry and he would make sure to cautiously watch over the shield hero. He wasn't an individual Aultcray would warm up to in his eyes, the king would rather give him adversity rather than support against the threat but he was persuaded to give him the benefit of doubt, after all he wasn't the same person from the previous shield hero. But Aultcray's hatred would still be there, if he could find a way to make the shield hero miserable, then he would use it.

"Now entering, the four cardinal heroes!" A guard standing by the side of the door exclaimed as he and another knight moved open to let the heroes enter, allowing the king and the nobles to see the legendary lineup of chosen wielders

The spear, bow and sword were just like the ancient text described the heroes. Humans with fit bodies and attractive appearances, using otherworldly strange clothes. They all seemed perfect but... The shield was different.

he appears to be a fully-grown man wearing predominately white robes and a blue vest with black accessories covering his wrists and around his head, his face shadowed by a straw hat. However it seemed to be illuminated by his glowing blue eyes that radiate with electricity, which was unlike the other heroes, the shield seemed to have an different aura to himself unlike the other individuals in the room. Aultcray didn't know why but it felt ancient, but powerful like a storm but restrained, the king didn't like this but was cautiously curious to know more about this shield hero

"So these are the legendary heroes?... Very well I am king Aultcray Melromarc" he introduced himself to the four heroes, with very little response from the shield and the others had more of their focus on him as well, Aultcray could tell.

"I know you have many questions but for now, could the heroes name themselves to the court?" He spoke while looking at them from his throne, his tone was very dominant and commanding as a king of a nation would be, still very little reaction from the shield... The king was getting irritated

"I am Ren Amaki, age 17, a high school student" The first to speak was the sword hero as he held his sword with his left hand.

"I'm Motoyasu Kitamura, 21 years old, college student" The spear hero went next. Taking a step forward and placing his spear on his shoulders as he made his introduction

"Guess I should go next, huh? Itsuki Kawasumi, 16 and a high scholar as well" The bow hero went next as he raised his bow to inspect the object as the king nodded before looking to the shield hero for his introduction

"I am Raiden, ancient thunder god of Earth Realm and its protector. So I must know if these 'Waves' poses a threat to my realm or not" Raiden said with his voice seemly calm, but Aultcray felt like he had an underlying impatience, as if his kingdom's doom was not his concern. This so called 'thunder god' felt his time was being wasted? Aultcray was getting furious by now but it would be better to see if this so proclaimed deity was a delusional idea from an overgrown ego

"Ancient god? That seems to be quite the title, but can you prove to the court of such a thing?" Aultcray challenged Raiden to show any sort of godlike ability to the on lookers, The thunder god was not there to entertain the king's court but if he had to in order to proof himself an elder god then so be it. With crackly electricity around his arms, he creates an orb of lighting that grows in his hands until he closest it with his palms. Causing the whole room to be filled with electricity that courses around the place and it's people, while not causing no harm it makes a storm form above them before a monstrous thunder strikes Raiden, seemingly turning him to dust before he teleported in front of the king himself, causing Aultcray to flinch at the sudden teleport

"I hope that is proof enough to you majesty, now let's discuss this Wave of Calamity" Raiden said as lightning was visibly emitting from his eyes with more intensity than before, Aultcray grinned his teeth as he knew for sure that this shield hero would be a problem.

[Author's Notes]

I have played more Injustice than Mortal Kombat, but I do like the characters so I decided to write a little proof of concept for both Scorpion and Raiden. I imagine that while still having the 1 attack limitation their magic allows them to cause damage (Raiden's god status would allow him to use various lightning moves without the shield limiting their power, Scorpion could cause damage by enveloping his attacks on hell fire like a true damage burn.)

Raiden is a interesting choice as he is a somewhat flawed individual, as a Immortal god his perspective is much more focused on the long run rather than the now which would make him be very selective on his actions compared to Naofumi. His way of obtaining party members may also differ as he would be looking around for powerful fighters so he might never recruit Raphtalia and Filo.
