I do not own Harry Potter, only any OC that may appear in the story.
Hello guys, Badger here. Here it is. Everything I'm sure you've been waiting for. As I mentioned in the previous chapter, Chapter 8 will be where the Dursleys face Karma for their actions. Well here it is. And oooh boy, this chapter was straining to write. Fun, but straining. Not because it was difficult to write, but because of how much I had to write. This remastered version is nearly three times longer than the original chapter.
Which wouldn't be so bad, but something happened to the file and I had to rewrite about half of it, so there's probably something I've missed out, but it's here now and I think you'll all love it.
So read on, enjoy and I will see you at the end.

Chapter 8
A Nice Surprise For Harry, And A Nasty Shock For The Dursleys
…
Troll Attack Inside Hogwarts Castle!
That's right dear readers, you read correctly. Many parents and guardians across Wizarding Britain, received the most disturbing news from their children, detailing how a Mountain Troll had somehow managed to enter Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A Mountain Troll that had been stopped by none other than Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived himself, who was able to kill the Troll and rescue the life of Daphne Greengrass, who would've been killed if Harry Potter hadn't rescued her in time.
Ignatius Greengrass, Lord of the Greengrass Family and Fortune, has expressed his gratitude for Harry Potter when speaking with the Press of the Daily Prophet, for saving his eldest daughter from certain death.
However, this attack has led to many angry parents to demand answers from the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore. Hogwarts School is supposed to be the safest place within Wizarding Britain, yet somehow Albus Dumbledore somehow allowed a Mountain Troll to wander inside. Either this is a massive oversight by the Headmaster, or its incompetence. Whatever the reason, many irate and upset parents have been demanding answers for how this could've possibly happened, with many even going to the Ministry themselves, to investigate. The Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, had given the Daily Prophet a personal statement of how he too wishes for answers from Albus Dumbledore. However, with a lot of Aurors currently preoccupied, the Minister is unable to spare any to investigate and due to confidentiality restrictions, he couldn't explain why.
This has led concerned parents to become even more upset, with their questions currently left unanswered, and we at the Daily Prophet hope that Albus Dumbledore provides answers to those questions soon.

Dumbledore had his head in his hands, as he finished reading the Daily Prophet. He feared that the news of the Troll attack would reach the ears of the rest of Wizarding Britain at some point. Especially when students inevitably wrote to their families, about the attack. However, the news broke out a lot sooner then he had initially thought. All morning, the Headmaster has been receiving and avoiding dozens upon dozens of Howlers sent to him by both angry parents and non parents alike. Each one demanding answers about how he could let their children be endangered by something so easily avoidable.
It was safe to say that his reputation and image has been more then a little stained, by this occurrence.
Dumbledore was no fool. He knew how a Mountain Troll had been able to get into Hogwarts. And why. He knew it was a distraction set up by Quirrell, to keep Dumbledore and the rest of the staff occupied whilst he searched for the Stone. However, Dumbledore couldn't explain that to the people of Wizarding Britain. If word got out that Voldemort was still alive, it would cause unnecessary fear amongst the Wizarding World and those who had supported the Dark Lord would restart their attacks, knowing their leader wasn't dead like their first feared. Plus, it would tarnish Dumbledore's reputation and image even more then it already has been. Dumbledore couldn't have any of that happen.
Dumbledore was at least glad that the Ministry seemed to be too busy, to spare any Aurors to investigate the matter. Though even that concerned him, as he wondered what could be going on for such a thing to be the case.
Whatever the reason, Dumbledore was unsure how he was going to be able to walk away freely from this situation.
…
Across the castle, within the Slytherin Common Room, Harry and James sat beside the fireplace, were also currently reading through the Daily Prophet. Harry was almost surprised they Daily Prophet and the Ministry had already received news on the attack, but he knew he shouldn't be. After the mess that the Troll attack had left behind was cleaned up, the rest of the students were given the all clear, as the Heads of Houses informed them about what happened. As soon as the students heard that Harry had not only defeated, but killed, a fully grown Mountain Troll the news spread quicker then a wild fire, with rumours on top of rumours circulating about how Harry defeated the troll. So it wasn't all that surprising, in hindsight, that news quickly reached the ears of those outside of Hogwarts. The rumours about how Harry defeated the Troll were both ridiculous, and massively exaggerated.
One student had said how Harry had summoned lightning to disintegrate the Troll. Another student stated that he used a long forgotten spell to blow the Troll up into pieces. How they came up with these rumours, Harry will never know. Even James rolled his eyes from how ridiculous the whole thing was, stating how it would be practically impossible for a First Year to perform such feats of magic, after only a couple weeks of schooling. People wouldn't hear it though.
Speaking of who, Harry was relieved to hear the blow to the head that James had sustained from the Troll attack, wasn't massively serious. After cleaning up the blood the schools Healer, Madam Pomfrey, had run a few Diagnostic Charms and found that James had thankfully only received a mild concussion when hitting his head. Madam Pomfrey had them given James a couple of potions to drink to treat the pain and sickness he was feeling and within an hour, they were free to go. And now, after a full night sleep, James was back to his usual self like nothing had happened.
"Seriously though Harry, I mean it…thank you…" James said, throwing the Daily Prophet into the fire when they were done with it, "I do mean it…not only did you help save Daphne, but you saved my life…"
"I wasn't just going to stand there and do nothing…" Harry stated, "You're my best friend, of course I was going to save you…especially after all you've done for me, so far…"
"I know, but thank you…" James replied, "I don't know how I'll be able to repay you for saving my life, but I'll think of something…"
"You're helping me get my Aunt and Uncle locked up for their abuse…" Harry pointed out, "I think that's payment enough…"
James smiled, as he leant against the pillar of the fireplace, before the two of them noticed Blaise and Daphne walking towards them, where the two immediately took a seat on the opposite sofa.
"Daphne, Blaise…" James greeted, with a small smile and nod, "To what do we owe the pleasure?"
"Blaise informed me about everything, after I left the Great Hall last night" Daphne said, "And I just wanted to thank you all, properly, for saving me…"
"It was more James and Blaise then me…" Harry shrugged
"Harry, you're the one who killed that troll…" James pointed out, with a light scoff, "Blaise was elsewhere to alert the Professors and I had my ass handed to me, and couldn't tell up from down…I couldn't help Daphne even if I wanted to…"
"He has a point Harry" Blaise spoke up, "It was more you then us, you're the hero here…"
"Okay, okay" Harry replied, blushing, not used to compliments and praise, "You're welcome Daphne…"
"There's more…" Daphne sighed, uncomfortably, as she looked to James, "Well…we've known each other for a while and…I was wondering…if you…"
"Daphne wants to know if you two would like us all to be friends" Blaise spoke up for her, seeing that Daphne was having difficulties
James' eyes widened in momentary surprise, though there was a small smile on his face. Daphne wasn't exactly the emotional or sentimental type. She also preferred to spend her time in her own company. Besides her little sister Astoria, Daphne preferred to keep everyone at arms length no matter how well she got on with them. It made James wonder what changed.
Then again, he had a hunch that recent events was the cause.
"Of course, I'd have no problems with the four of us being friends…" James smiled, before turning to Harry, "What do you think Harry?"
"I don't mind…" Harry smiled "I may not know them that much, but I'd like more friends…"
"Well that settles it…" James said, as he looked at Blaise and Daphne, "Welcome to our little club…"
Blaise and Daphne smiled in return at the two of them, however Daphnes smile had quickly disappeared when she saw the look in James' eyes.
"Don't you dare!" She warned, jumping out of her seat, "I know what you're going to do…"
"I don't know what you mean…" James said innocently, as he pushed himself off of the fireplace, making Blaise chuckle and Harry look confused
"Don't play innocent with me Badger…" Daphne hissed, "You know I don't do hugs!"
"You hug Astoria" James replied
"She's my sister!" Daphne pointed out, glaring at him, "If you try to hug me, I will hex your nether regions!"
That made James stop for a moment, as he and Blaise both winced at the thought. Blaise even crossed his legs. Harry watched as his friend seemed to be thinking about his options, the gears twisting and turning in his head, in deep thought. After another moment, James shrugged.
"It will be worth it" He said, with a grin
"No, don't you dare!" Daphne exclaimed
Harry watched as Daphne quickly ran off, with James chasing after her, out of the Slytherin Common Room. He was confused, but the sight made Blaise laugh out loud as he watched, where they heard the entrance to the Common Room slam shut. Once Blaise had calmed down slightly, he looked at Harry and saw the confused look on the boys face.
"Daphne doesn't do hugs…" He clarified
…
Inside his office in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, for the second time in mere weeks, Quirrell found himself twitching and writhing in the floor from the torture his Master had been inflicting upon him for what felt like hours. First Quirrell defied direct orders to not attack the Potter brat and blow his cover and now Quirrell's plan to search the Third Floor for the Philosopher's Stone had went up in smoke, because of said Potter brat. His Master was already angry enough as it was, seeing that Potter had killed the Troll, however when Quirrell saw the Daily Prophet this morning, his Master exploded in a rage.
And Quirrell was now suffering because of it.
In his Masters eyes, Quirrell was to blame as well as his incompetence. If it wasn't for the fact that the Ministry was currently spread too thin to launch an investigation, and that his Master still needed him to stay alive, Quirrell would've been dead by now. However, his Master had decided to be generous and give Quirrell one more chance. And only, one more chance. The warning was clear. Should Quirrell fail again, regardless on if the man was still useful to him or not, his Master would have no second thoughts on killing him. His Master had also ordered Quirrell to lay low for a while, before attempting to go after the Stone again. No doubt if another event like the Troll attack happened again, so soon, his Master had no doubt suspicions would arise and investigations were sure to launch.
Quirrell agreed, not wishing to anger his Master more then he already had. He'll lay low for now, and make plans.
His Master will rise again.
…
At lunch Harry, James, Blaise and Daphne all entered the Great Hall, taking a seat at the Slytherin table and ignoring all the whispers and hushed conversations going on around them. Word had began to spread that the four of them were friends, after many students noticed that they had been spending the entire day together, from lesson to lesson. Seeing as they had saved Daphne from the Troll the previous night, it didn't take long to put two and two together. And once word got out, it spread quicker than all the rumours about how Harry defeated the Troll. The four Slytherins however, did their best to ignore the whispers. The news, had also angered the odd student.
In particular, Draco Malfoy. The Malfoy Heir was angered when the rumours reached his ears as, in his mind Daphne was the future Mrs Malfoy, regardless of to whether she said no or not. And as the future Mrs Malfoy, she shouldn't be conversing with filthy Half-Bloods and Blood Traitors. Once the two were betrothed, he was going to have to teach her a lesson about it.
Ron Weasley was also angry about the rumours, as he glared at the four friends. Then again, he hated anything and everything to do with Slytherin, so it wasn't a surprise. However, with Harry now making friends with Blaise and Daphne, the House of Snakes were sinking their teeth into him more and more, making it impossible for Ron to worm his way through and convince Harry to get resorted into Gryffindor and be good mates. The way it should've been. What didn't help was that his attempts to get Fred and George to stop conversing with them, was met with mere laughs and getting pranked again.
It all made Ron go as red as his hair, in anger.
"So Harry…" Daphne said, as they ate lunch, "The first Quidditch match of the year starts soon, how are you feeling about it?"
"A little nervous…" Harry replied, "I've been training with Flint, for the match…I just hope I don't mess it up…"
"You're not going to mess it up, Harry…" James spoke up, his attention on his lunch, "You have a natural talent…I've told you, being a Seeker in your blood…you're not going to mess it up…"
Harry smiled at James' words, before the sound of an owls trill filled the Great Hall. Everyone looked up to see an owl that no one recognised, flying into the Great Hall with a wrapped package in its beak. The four Slytherins watched as the owl flew over them, letting go of the package in front of Harry, before flying back out of the Great Hall. Harry quickly caught the package before it could hit something and break, before gently setting it down on the table, confused about who could've possibly sent it to him.
He didn't notice that a lot of students, mostly Slytherins were watching them.
"Wow, a broom shaped package…what do you think it could be?" James asked, sarcastically
"Very funny…" Blaise rolled his eyes, "However, it's still a bit early for mail isn't it?"
"It's addressed to Harry though…" Daphne said, looking at the tag, "Do you think it's safe to open?"
"Should be…who would rig a package to try and harm Harry?" James asked, rolling his eyes as he turned to Harry, "What do you think Harry…feel like opening it?"
"Yeah…let's do it!" Harry nodded
Ignoring the rest of the students watching them, the four Slytherins practically attacked the package as they tore off the the brown paper currently wrapped haphazardly around the package. It took a moment, but eventually they were able to unwrap the broom from its packaging and what was inside, shocked the four Slytherins as well as everyone who could see it, from where they were sitting.
"Madre de Dios Harry!" James exclaimed, "That's a Nimbus 2000!"
"It's the fastest broom model to date!" Daphne added, before turning to James with a raised eyebrow, "And since when did you speak Spanish?"
"Since five seconds ago, shut up!" James replied, as he looked at the tag, "So, who sent you the broom?"
"You mean it wasn't any of you?" Harry asked
His question was met with three heads shaking in response, making Harry confused as to who could've sent it to him. At first, he thought it could've been Flint as a welcome gift into becoming part of the team. However the Prefect and Quidditch Captain looked equally as shocked, seeing the broom on the table. Harry looked around the Great Hall, to see who could've sent it to him. It had to be someone he knew, like Susan or the Twins. They were the only ones it could've been. However judging from their confusion, wondering what was going on at the Slytherin table, they didn't seem to be the ones responsible. Harry looked across the Great Hall again, where his gaze landed on the Professors Table, where he noticed Snape looking his way.
The Potions Professor was eating his lunch, but when their gaze met, he gave Harry a discreet wink and placed a finger to his lips, before turning his attention back to his meal. Harry smiled a little, before turning his attention back to his friends.
"I don't know who sent it to me, but I'm going to put it away for now…" Harry said
"We'll come with you" Daphne said
"Are you sure?" Harry asked
"Of course" James replied, "I need to pick something up from our dorm anyway…"
Harry nodded, as the four of them stood up and made their way out of the Great Hall, with Harry holding the broom in his hands. The small group of Slytherins didn't make it far down the corridors, before their path was blocked by Draco and his apes, Crabbe and Goyle. This time however, Harry noticed the Malfoy heir was joined by a girl in their year. Harry recognised her, having seen her in classes, yet couldn't recall her name. The girl was a Slytherin like them with dark brown eyes, nearly black, with a short and stubby nose and short, black hair in a messy bob cut hair style. Harry thought the girl was quite pretty, if a little hard-faced.
Draco sniffed impassively, as he looked at the small group of Slytherins in front of him, before he looked at the broom with narrowed eyes.
"Is that a broom Potter…no doubt for the Quidditch Team, I'm guessing?" Draco scoffed, "Dear Merlin, this House has really gone to the dogs…no matter, they'll certainly kick you off the team, once they see how worthless you are Potter…if I'm lucky, you'll be removed from Slytherin House entirely too!"
With that Draco walked away, shoving Harry's shoulder with his own as he passed, causing Harry to stumble slightly. Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy quickly followed behind him, with Crabbe and Goyle barging passed the four, whilst Pansy swiftly walked around them, as they walked away. Harry couldn't help but feel slightly hurt from Draco's comments, as he rubbed his shoulder. It only made him want to prove the boy wrong.
As James said, he had Seeker in his blood.
"Merlin, Malfoy just gets worse and worse…" Daphne grumbled, as she brushed off her skirt, "Crabbe and Goyle aren't much better…why does he have those apes follow him around, anyways?"
"To make him seem more threatening…" Blaise replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, "Without Crabbe and Goyle at his back, he's about as threatening as a fly…"
"Don't insult the fly like that Blaise…" James said, "Even a fly is more threatening than Malfoy…"
"Who was that girl with him?" Harry asked
"Pansy Parkinson…" Daphne answered, "Rumours say she's smitten with Malfoy, though I don't know whether to believe them or not…"
"If those rumours are true, then he's obviously oblivious to it…" James said, "Just like how he's oblivious to the fact that you earned that broom Harry"
"I take it you see that broom as a reward for breaking the rules?" A disapproving voice spoke up
The four Slytherins looked behind them to see Hermione Granger standing in the corridor, a few feet away from them. She was looking at Harry, and more specifically his broom, with a disapproving look as if the very sight offended her. Seeing her there, immediately made Harry and James groan out of annoyance, whilst Blaise and Daphne shared a look, curious and confused as to who the bushy haired Gryffindor was.
"As a matter of fact, Granger, I do…" Harry said before walking away
James immediately followed after him, which caused Hermione to let out an offended huff before storming off. Blaise and Daphne shared another confused look, as they quickly caught up to James and Harry, where Blaise cleared his throat.
"Ok, I'll bite…who was that girl?" Blaise asked
"Hermione Granger…" Harry sighed, "She seems to see James as some kind of rival and tries to be better than him at everything…"
"Are you serious?" Daphne asked with a raised eyebrow, as if the very thought was ridiculous
"Very much so…" James sighed, "And she's seriously testing what little patience I have…"
…
That evening, after lessons were over, James was walking down the corridors towards the Slytherin Common Room, after having just acquiring some books from the Hogwarts Library for some studying. Blaise and Daphne were already in the Common a room studying, whilst Harry was out at the Quidditch Pitch with Flint for some last minute training for the big game against Gryffindor. As James turned around the corner however, he ended up bumping into someone and dropped his books as the two of them fell to the ground with a dull thud.
As James started picking the books back up, he looked up to see that he had collided into Pansy Parkinson.
"Parkinson…" He greeted, in a neutral tone, as he stood up
"Badger…" She replied, her tone firm but non-hostile, as she handed him the last book
"Not with Malfoy, I see" James stated, taking the book, realising she was alone
"Oh please, the blonde ponce hardly notices me when I'm around, half the time…" Pansy scoffed, as she brushed off her skirt
"So he doesn't know then?" James asked
"That we're friends?" Pansy rolled her eyes, "Of course he doesn't…if he did know that we were friends, let alone talking to one another, he'd throw a fit and 'forbid' me from talking to you…"
"So he's afraid of me still?" James chuckled lightly
"You know he is…" Pansy snorted, "See you around Badger…"
James gave Pansy a mock salute, as she walked around him and down the corridor leading to the library. He watched her leave before shaking his head and continued on his way, towards the Slytherin Common Room.
He wanted to get some studying done, before he turned in for the night.
…
Across the country Amelia Bones stood on a Muggle street, looking at 4 Privet Drive which was on the opposite side of the road. There was a light pattering of rain and it had started to get dark, as the sun went down, making now the perfect opportunity to make the arrest. Amelia was currently joined by several Aurors she was able to gather to make the necessary arrests. They were all standing ready and waiting, behind her, each one more then eager to help the Head of the DMLE when she informed them of the reasons for this arrest.
"Is this the address, Ma'am?" One of the Aurors, a new recruit who went by Tonks, asked
"Yes it is, Auror Tonks…" Amelia said, before turning around to face the Aurors, "Okay, remember the plan…you are all to be hidden under the Disillusionment Charms and look around the house for any evidence of their abuse…now, let's go…"
The Aurors immediately used the Disillusionment Charm, disappearing from view, as they quickly and quietly followed Amelia who approached the front door of 4 Privet Charm, gently concealing a small vial of clear liquid in her palm. She gingerly held her hand up before knocking on the door a few times. She could hear the sounds of grumbling and shuffling coming from the other side of the door, before it opened. When the door opened, she was met by the sight of a rather short, grumpy and obese man, with thick dark hair and a large bushy moustache to match. Amelia had to stop herself from narrowing her eyes at the sight of him. She felt horrible vibes from the beefy man in front of her.
Vernon Dursleys eyes narrowed suspiciously, when he opened the door, and look at Amelia. His gaze practically demanded to know why she was here at this time of day.
"Yes?" He asked, gruffly, "Who are you and what are you doing here!"
"Forgive me sir…" Amelia replied, with a forced calmness, as she raised a fake police ID, "I'm from the Surrey police law enforcement, I've heard…rumours, about a Harry Potter who lives here…apparently he's a troublemaker and was wondering if you could tell me more about it…"
Amelia couldn't help but notice that Vernon's grumpy expression turned into one of glee at her words. The man's eyes were practically glowing with joy, as he opened the door fully to let her in.
"Oh yes we can indeed!" Vernon said, jovially, "Please come in, come in…"
Amelia forced a smile as she entered the house, the Aurors quickly piling in behind her still under their Disillusionment guise. Vernon had led her into the living room, as he went to fetch his wife from the dining room. Whilst he was gone she took a moment to look around, at the various pictures on display. Pictures of Vernon, with his wife and son. Yet none of Harry. In fact, there was nothing to even suggest that Harry even lived here in the first place. If Amelia hadn't already been informed of the abuse beforehand, she'd be at the very least suspicious.
Eyes narrowing slightly, Amelia sat down on one of the available seats, just as Vernon came back, this time joined by his wife Petunia, who was carrying three cups of tea.
Petunia, Amelia noted, was the exact opposite of her husband. She was tall and lanky, with quite a long neck. Her thin face was framed by curly dark hair. Amelia felt similar bad vibes from Petunia, that felt from the woman's husband. However, Amelia forced a polite smile, as Petunia handed her one of the cups of tea.
"My dear husband Vernon has told me the police department has heard about our troublesome nephew…" Petunia said, as the two Dursleys sat opposite Amelia, "We're so glad something is finally being done…our nephew has been nothing but trouble for us, for the last decade!"
"So we've been informed…" Amelia said, "If you can provide any evidence or information for us, then we can guarantee that your nephew will be taken to court, where the judge will determine how long your nephew will spend in a Youth Detention Centre…"
That news had Vernon and Petunia look at one another with glee, both of them sporting large grins at the idea of being able to get rid of the freak they called a nephew. Whilst the two were distracted, Amelia quickly removed the small vial from her pocket and poured the contents into their cups of tea. The concoction in question was Veritaserum. A potion created to make those who ingest it to tell the truth to any question asked to them. She had been given the vial for the purpose of questioning the Dursleys, to see if the allegations were indeed true. The Minister of Magic had also granted Amelia the right to use the Imperius Curse, however Amelia didn't want to use such a curse unless absolutely necessary.
Amelia quickly leant back her seat, when Vernon and Petunia turned their attention back to her. She watched, restraining a smile, as the two grabbed their cups and took a sip of their tea. Within a few seconds, the Veritaserum had started to take effect as Vernon and Petunia went limp in their seats, their eyes going glassy and foggy. With the two under the efffects, Amelia took out her notepad and quill.
"What are your names?" She asked
"Vernon Cuthbert Dursley" Vernon said, in a slow and monotone voice
"Petunia Mary Dursley" Petunia said at the same time
"Are you the current guardians of Harry Potter?" Amelia asked
"Yes" Vernon replied
With every question the two answered, Amelia noted their response down on the notepad, which the Minister will then use as a reference for the questioning during their trial.
"We have reasons to believe that Harry Potter has been subjected to child abuse during his time under your roof" Amelia said, "Is this true?"
"Yes…" Vernon replied, "I make sure he is beaten at least once a day, either by myself or my son Dudley…if he fails to do his chores, or shows his freakishness, I whip him with my belt…"
"Why?" Amelia asked, gripping her quill tightly to try and contain her anger
"Because he is a freak!" Petunia replied, "A no good freak, just like his mother and father…he ruined our normal and peaceful life the day he was dropped off on our doorstep!"
"He was dropped off on your doorstep?" Amelia repeated, "By who?"
"Albus Dumbledore…" Vernon replied, "The old coot left the freak on our doorstep, with a note asking us to take care of the brat!"
Vernons answer, made Amelia Bones stop writing on her notepad. Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, was the one who left Harry on their doorstep. Did that mean Dumbledore was an accessory to the abuse? Or was this merely a mistake on the Headmasters part? Amelia couldn't be sure, but it made her suspicious. This was going to have to be brought up in the trial. As Dumbledore was part of the Wizengamot, it will be easy to get their answers from him then. After writing down Vernon's answer, Amelia believed she had enough to warrant the arrest.
"Dawlish, have you and your team found anything of note?" She called out, as she stood up
John Dawlish, one of her top Aurors dropped his Disillusionment Charm, along with the rest of the Aurors. Some looked disgusted. Others looked pale.
"Only one thing, Madam Bones…" Dawlish said, "The cupboard under the stairs…it's completely filthy, full of dust, mould and insects…it seems to have been used as a bedroom of some kind, as there's an old mattress and blanket in there, both filthy with various stains and what looks like dried blood…I imagine this is where they had Potter sleep…"
"Thank you Dawlish…" Amelia said, before glaring at Vernon and Petunia, where the effects of the Veritaserum was wearing off, "Mr and Mrs Dursley, I am Amelia Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, you are under arrest for child abuse towards a magical child, Harry Potter!"
"YOU'RE ONE OF THEM FREAKS!" Vernon yelled in rage, as he stood up, "DID MY FREAKISH NEPHEW SEND YOU HERE?! WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HIM I'LL…"
Vernon was cut off, as the Aurors fired Binding Curses at the him and Petunia, the both of them falling to the floor, wrapped in ropes. The two of them yelled out profanities in protest, as they struggled against their bindings. Hearing the commotion from his room, Dudley quickly ran downstairs to see what was going on, where he saw his mother and father on the floor in ropes, with various strangers standing in his living room, holding strange sticks.
"What did you do to my mom and dad?!" Dudley demanded
"Dudley Dursley…" Amelia Bones said, "Based on evidence provided by your parents, you are also under arrest for questioning regarding abuse towards your cousin, Harry Potter…"
Her words made Dudley's eyes widen, as he quickly tried running back up the stairs in fear. However, before he could get away, Tonks had quickly fired another Binding Curse at the boy, causing Dudley to fall back down the stairs like a sack of potatoes, as ropes wrapped around his frame. With all three Dursleys restrained, the Aurors placed a Silencing Charm over them all to stop their screams and protests, as they dragged them out of the house and apparated back to the Ministry. The three Dursleys will then be placed in a Ministry Holding Cell, until their trial the following year.
However, Amelia didn't need a Seer to know what the Ministers verdict would be.
…
Whoo! There we go. Chapter 8 done. Told you it was a bit of a long one.
Quite a bit happened in this chapter too. The formation of the Famous Four as I've temporarily named them. Harry getting his Nimbus. The Dursleys getting arrested. Oh and Dumbledore receiving backlash for the troll incident. Expect more of that in future chapters. In this remastered version, I want Dumbledore to face comeuppance for his incompetence, something I don't recall doing in the original story. Needless to say, his reputation will be tainted.
One last thing before I go, because I am tired and want to nap. In the original story, I had ideas for one of the main group to become a werewolf or a vampire at some point, as I thought it would make for an interesting plot point and divergence from canon. As you can imagine, this never came to be. However in this story, I would like to try and include the plot of one of the four to becoming a Werewolf, be it either Harry, James, Blaise or Daphne. Please leave suggestions for who, when and how, as I really want to include this plot point somewhere in the story.
But that is all for now, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you all next time, in whatever story I see you in.
Badger Out.
