Chapter 1 Part 6
"So, uh, yeah I killed Sayaka," Leon said as he scratched the back of his head. 'God, could I have said that any weirder?' he thought to himself.
"She said she tricked you into her room, but did you not find that fishy?" Nagito asked.
"Yeah, we at least knew about the killing game by that point," Junko said. "Don't tell me you went there planning to kill her."
"O-of course not!" Leon shouted.
"Then why did you go to her room that late at night?" Kiyo asked.
"Well, y-you know," Leon blushed a bit. "I mean, a hot chick asking you to come over at night? Especially an idol? I mean, anyone would have thought she was coming onto me. I-it's any guy's dream."
"I can certainly understand where he's coming from," Teruteru said.
"So, yeah, I went over expecting something…different, and then she jumped me, we got into a fight and I accidently…stabbed her."
"Then you tried to cover it up," Celeste said.
"Hey, can you assholes stop trying to act all better than me?" Leon whined. "Most of you guys killed people too!"
"Except me," Junko shrugged. "I got killed for standing up to Monokuma. So, you guys are kind of on your own in terms of the whole murdering each other thing."
Chiaki glared at Junko. 'I'm already tired of her lies,' she thought to herself. 'Yet I can't just call her out. Without proof, saying she's the mastermind, revealing what I am, will sound insane…I wonder if she is the mastermind of this game as well…'
"Wait, doesn't that go against the rule that Monokuma can't directly kill someone?" Kaede asked.
"What do you expect?" Hiyoko spat out. "Stupid bear cheats all the time. Of he'd break his own rules."
"We're getting off topic here," Byakuya spoke up. "We need to hear from everyone that attempted to murder."
"Oh, right," Mahiru said. "The next killer was Mondo, right?"
Mondo balled up his fists as everyone turned to face him. He refused to look any of them in the eyes, so he hung his head down. "Yeah," he said softly, "I did kill Chihiro."
"Why though?" Nekomaru asked. The coach was a bit confused by the revelation. Mondo had asked him to train and look after Chihiro, so why would he have killed her?
"It's complicated," Mondo said.
"It would help to actually explain it," Ryoma explained.
Mondo groaned a bit. "Monokuma's second motive was about our secrets. If we didn't kill anyone, he'd reveal them to everyone." Mondo paused to take a deep breath before continuing. "My secret was that during a bike race with my brother, I got reckless. I would have gotten hit by a truck if my bro didn't in the way…I got my brother killed because I was a dumbass."
Chihiro raised her eyebrow as Mondo explained himself. She remembered him getting mad when she revealed her secret, yet she didn't understand why. 'So, his secret was worse than mine,' she thought to herself. 'But I didn't ask him what his secret was. So why was he mad?'
"So, when I had the chance, I got alone with Chihiro and killed her," Mondo concluded his tale.
Chihiro raised her eyebrow again. 'Wait, he didn't mention that I asked to meet him. Why would he hide that?'
Sakura had maintained a calm composer since she explained how she had died, so she had simply been examining everyone else. While she didn't show it, Mondo's story stuck with her. 'So, you still wish to hide Chihiro's secret?' she thought. 'Your honor truly is important to you, Owada.'
"Are you sure that's all, Owada?" Celeste asked.
Mondo snapped his attention to the gambler. "It is, and I'd like you to keep your mouth shut."
"Very well," Celeste said as she neatly folded her hands together. "I suppose it's only fair we move onto Hifumi now."
Hifumi gulped a bit as Celeste forced everyone's attention onto him. Even though they knew she was also a murderer, she seemed to have found a way to stick it to her previous servant.
"U-um, well my tale is complex," Hifumi started. "It's a tale full of twists and turns, action, romance, betrayal, and-"
"Jesus Christ, shut up you stupid nerd and get on with it!" Miu shouted.
Hifumi sheepishly shrank into his seat and nervously fiddled with his fingers. "J-jeez, no need to be so harsh. B-but fine. After Mister Owada and…Miss Fujisaki were killed, Mister Ishimaru had snapped. He went into a depressed state, but then that changed when we found Miss Fujisaki's AI. He began to believe that, since it could mimic Mister Owada's voice, it was actually his friend's soul in the laptop and became possessive of it."
Most of the room were baffled by Hifumi's tale. It sounded ridiculous. Then again, some recalled being stuck in a virtual reality game. Perhaps it wasn't too insane.
Taka did find this information concerning. He thought back to his time in the killing game and remembered that everything became a blur after Mondo's execution. Perhaps Hifumi was telling the truth.
"But I…I couldn't stand it," Hifumi continued his testimony. "The AI was…was special to me. It was the only female that was willing to talk to me, she wasn't disgusted by me or my interests. She…she liked me. So, I fought against the crazed Ishimaru numerous times-"
"You had arguments that Kyoko had to break up," Celeste said.
Hifumi sighed. "Ok…I got into arguments with Ishimaru…But then the laptop disappeared! My beloved Alter Ego was taken! I of course thought Ishimaru took her, so when Ludenberg stated he had…forced himself onto her to take the laptop, I was furious! I agreed to help her with her plan to frame Hagakure when we killed Ishimaru…Then I turned around into an attack by Miss Ludenberg."
"She said I did what?!" Taka gasped. If he didn't hold onto his morals as tightly as he did, he'd probably try to strangle them.
"Jesus, dude," Leon cringed a bit.
"To lie about something like that," Mahiru frowned at the goth, "that's just low."
"It's vile," Rantaro said through gritted teeth,
"I believe I can fill in the gaps in Hifumi's story for you all," Celeste spoke up. "Monokuma's third motive came around. I had been maintaining my composure as long as I could trapped in that hellish place, but I had already become sick of it. Sick of all the fools either fooling themselves into believing they could work together or could get away with a heat of the moment kill. I was ready to snap. Then Monokuma offered up the third motive; 10 million dollars."
"Y-y-you killed p-p-people for money?" Mikan squeeked out.
"Cold blooded, but I get it," Miu said.
"I really shouldn't be a surprised," Kokichi smirked. "A pro gambler will really do whatever it takes to come out on top, won't they?"
"Indeed," Celeste nodded. "However, I made the mistake of relying too much on another person. I didn't play my cards close enough to my chest."
"I can definitely relate to that," Kokichi said.
"Enough," Byakuya spoke up once again, silencing everyone. "As Sakura already explained how she died, I believe it's time to move onto the island killing game." Byakuya snapped his attention over to Teruteru, who he glared at through his glasses. "Teruteru, you mind explaining why you killed me?"
Teruteru gulped a bit. "I-I didn't mean to kill you!" he pleaded. "I was aiming for Nagito!"
Byakuya raised an eyebrow. "Nagito? Why Nagito?"
"When the two of us were setting up the dinner party, I saw him setting up a knife," Teruteru explained. "I of course confronted him about it and he admitted that he planned on killing someone at the dinner party. So, I had to stop him. I in the floor beneath the party when he tried to enact his plan, so when he went for the knife, I grabbed skewer and thrusted it upward through the tight narrow gaps."
"Is that a metaphor?" Miu asked.
"Not now, Miu," Kaede kicked the inventor's leg.
"H-however, you shoved Nagito out of the way and I ended up killing you instead," Teruteru finished his tale.
Byakuya looked over at Celeste. "Is he telling the truth?"
"He is," Celeste said. "Partially."
"Partially?"
"He focused too hard on making himself sympathetic," Celeste said. "Every time his story could have went off to be less sympathetic, his eyes shifted. So, Teruteru, will you be a dear and tell us your other reason for going through with the kill? Afterall, you could have just reported Nagito to the others easily."
Teruteru bit his lip. He could tell why Hifumi became so terrified of her. She had just been outed as a murderer yet she still managed to gain control and manipulate him. 'God, she's still so sexy,' he thought to himself. 'She could step on me and I'd beg for more. God, I'm pathetic. Better do what she says.'
"I…I wanted to go home," he said. "My mama is still back home waiting for me…"
"You…said she was sick, right?" Mikan asked.
Teruteru nodded.
"I see…" Byakuya said before turning back to Celeste to confirm. She nodded. He looked back at Teruteru. "Very well. I can't say I forgive you for what you've done."
"I-I know…" Teruteru hung his head down.
"Next up was Peko," Mahiru said before looking at her murderer. She didn't feel like she could forgive her murderer, yet she couldn't judge her without hearing her reasoning. She cautious yet curious.
Peko rose up from her seat and looked out to the rest of the group. "The second motive was hidden in the form of an arcade game. This game was a recreation of events involving Mahiru, Ibuki, Hiyoko, Mikan, my master, and my master's sister. My master-"
"I'd just like to clarify something," Nagito interrupted.
"Nagito, don't interrupt her," Taka said.
"But some maybe confused as to what she meant by master," Nagito said.
Taka sighed. "Very well. Please elaborate."
"Thank you," Nagito smiled at Taka before facing his classmates. "Peko had admitted she was an orphan that was taken in my Fuyuhiko's yakuza family. She felt indebted to his family and thereby swore her loyalty to them and Fuyuhiko."
Peko sighed. "Thank you for explaining that, Nagito," she said. "Yes, I served the Kuzuryu Yakuza clan. My master had completed the game, he received photographic proof of the true story behind the game; the murder of my master's sister. It had seemed that Mahiru had also completed the game and confronted my master over these events. I decided to take action. I killed Mahiru. At the time, I felt I was only doing my part as a tool to enact the will of the Kuzuryu by killing her, yet I learned I acted to rashly. He never wished for me to do such a thing…He never needed a tool and he never wished for Mahiru to die…"
"So, it was just a misunderstanding then," Kaito said.
"No, she's a stupid bitch that hurt Mahiru for no reason!" Hiyoko shouted at Peko. "You think just because you're sorry it will make everything better?! You expect us to buy into your whole 'you're just a tool' crap?!"
Peko sat herself back down and closed her eyes, allowing Hiyoko to continue her insults.
"Hiyoko, enough," Mahiru said sternly.
"But Mahiru-"
"But nothing," Mahiru said a bit louder. "I'm the one to decide whether or not I forgive Peko. Not anyone else."
"But she killed you," Hiyoko snapped back as tears ran down the side of her cheeks. "How can you even consider it?! What, am I supposed to forgive Pigbarf for killing me?"
"That's for you to decide after you hear her side of what happened," Mahiru said before facing the nurse.
It was Mikan's turn to explain herself, but the moment everyone's eyes shifted to her, she nearly fainted on the spot. She sweat profusely and her foot tapped against the ground at pace of a jackhammer drilling into the ground. "U-u-um, do I have to talk?" she asked on the verge of tears.
"Yes you do," Byakuya stated.
Mikan whimpered a bit before she spoke up. "S-so, Monokuma decided the third motive would be s-s-something called the d-d-despair disease…"
"That's fucking stupid," Miu said.
"Despair can be disease?" Gonta asked.
"The fiendish bear found a way," Gundham said.
"W-w-well, the disease managed to infect A-Akane, Nagito, and Ibuki," Mikan continued. "S-since H-Hajime and I were in close proximity of them, we decided we'd quarantine with them in the hospital to keep us from infecting anyone else while treating them. H-h-however, it seems that I was infected too. I-I-I'm sorry, but I have a hard time remembering what happened next!"
"Just tell us what you can remember," Kirumi suggested.
"W-w-well, I remember being angry a-a-and I know that I k-k-killed Ibuki first, but e-e-everything else was a blur. A-a-all I know afterwards is that I felt like I-I did it for someone I loved…I-I'm sorry, that's all I remember!" Mikan cried out. "P-please don't hurt me!"
"We're not going to hurt you!" Kaede dashed over to the girl and gently hugged her. "There, there. There's no reason to get upset."
"What do you mean by loved one though?" Rantaro asked. "You said that you were compelled to kill for them?"
"She mentioned a 'beloved' before the end of the trial," Chiaki explained. "It seemed like the despair disease may have triggered some sort of memory."
"And only a vile, despair-filled person would ask their lover to kill," Nagito said as he gritted his teeth.
"Meh, sounds like typical toxic relationships to me," Junko shrugged.
"T-typical?" Chihiro asked.
"Trust me, the modeling world is full of psychos."
"Oh yeah," Tsumugi spoke up. "Not so much models, but I see a lot of headlines about people that plan out murders for people they love."
"But who would even like Pigbarf?" Hiyoko spat out. Mahiru slapped Hiyoko's hand lightly and silenced her friend.
"I think Mikan's very pretty," Tenko spoke up.
"But I think there's a bit besides the insult," Sayaka followed up. "From what I've seen so far, Mikan is timid to an extreme degree. If there was more to it than just this 'despair disease' then who could have gotten her to act like that?"
"Do you think it could have been the mastermind?" Ryoma asked.
"Maybe that's just a trick though!" Tenko said.
"That will have to be discussed at a later time when we have more information," Byakuya interrupted. "However, we need to stick to the conversation at hand."
"Right," Kokichi said. "We need to hear from Gundham next."
"Hmph," Gundham crossed his arms. "Very well. I shall relay these events to you all. After the third trial, we had discovered an island amusement park filled to the brim with childish attractions. Yet the most important of these was a fruit themed tower. At first, it just seemed like another attraction, yet in reality Monokuma designed it to be our tomb. We were unable to escape the building, cut off from any food or water. We would have been dead in days. That was when I came face to face with Nekomaru where we decided to have a fight to the death."
"Was that the only way Monokuma would let you guys leave the tower?" Kiyo asked.
"Indeed, it was," Gundham answered.
"Ah, I understand now," Kiyo snickered a bit. "You killed Nekomaru so the rest of your friends wouldn't have to face starvation. Truly, your love for your friends is beautiful."
"Wh-what?!" Gundham gasped before turning red. "Wh-what a ridiculous statement! The overlord of ice needs no friends other than his dark compatriots!" Gundham's pets popped up from his scarf. "The Tanaka Empire is all I need!"
"Ha! You can't fool me, Tanaka!" Nekomaru shouted. "We both fought for the same reason. We were both sacrificing ourselves for the group!"
"My actions are mine alone," Gundham turned away from the group. "I don't care for what others think."
Hifumi stared at Gundham. 'He's being very tsundere about this,' he thought.
'He actually does care about other people,' Sayaka thought.
"So, are we moving onto Nagito and Chiaki then?" Chihiro asked.
"I'd gladly explain myself to most of you," Nagito said before frowning, "but I won't tell my class."
"That's not negotiable," Byakuya said.
"Why not?" Kokichi asked. "We're all allowed to our privacy, aren't we?"
"You are, but these previous murder attempts must be made clear to the rest of us," Byakuya said. "Don't you wish to prevent Monokuma from getting the best of us?"
"I do," Kokichi said before smirking. "But I'm also not opposed to secrets. I enjoy having to find things out for myself."
Byakuya raised an eyebrow at that statement and turned over to Kaito. "Did you always have to deal with this?"
Kaito sighed. "Pretty much."
"If Nagito isn't willing to speak, I'd be fine explaining what happened," Chiaki raised her hand. "I am technically the one that killed him after all."
"Very well, Nanami," Taka nodded. "You may go on."
Before explaining herself though, Chiaki looked over at Nagito. "Is that ok?" she asked.
Nagito smiled. "Go ahead, Chiaki."
Chiaki nodded before facing the group. "After the fourth trial, our group had become on edge. The mysteries of the island were becoming more complicated….Stuff about a group called the Future Foundation and photos of us that made no sense…These revelations particularly affected Nagito. He was convinced one of us was a traitor and began to set bombs around the island. It put us under a lot of pressure, so we decided to fight back….It turns out that Nagito planned for us to fight back. He set up trap where he'd be killed if we triggered it. He planned on using his luck to make sure the traitor would be the one to trigger it…I think."
"Wait, he used luck to get a traitor to kill him?" Leon asked. "That's…stupid. There's no way he'd succeed at that."
"You'd be surprised by what he managed to accomplish with his luck," Peko said.
"Wait, you're serious?" Leon asked again.
"Yeah," Mahiru chimed in. "The whole reason he was able to set up his murder plan for the dinner party was because he managed to get the shortest straw to get picked."
"Well wait, if he was lucky that time, was he lucky to get the right person to kill him?" Kaede asked. "Does that mean Chiaki was a traitor?"
The group turned back to Chiaki.
"N-no," Ibuki said with a frown. "N-no way. Chiaki can't be a traitor! Ibuki knows good people and Chiaki is the best of us!"
"That doesn't mean she couldn't have been manipulated by Monokuma," Sakura said.
Chiaki hung her head down. 'I can't tell them,' she thought to herself. 'Not while Junko and Mukuro are here. And it's hard to just say they've been in a simulation the whole time…I think.'
"So, Nagito actually helped them then?" Kokichi asked. "Man, and I was starting to think the two of us were kindred spirits."
'You wouldn't understand,' Nagito thought. 'None of you would. All of you are so drenched in despair…"
"Then that settles it for the Jabberwock Island Killing Game," Byakuya said. "Now, it's time to move onto the Ultimate Academy Killing Game."
"Then it's my turn I suppose," Kaede said with a slight frown. "Monokuma tried to tempt us with something called the First Blood perk. The idea being that the first people to kill someone would be able to leave without facing a trial. We didn't buy into it, so Monokuma decided to force us to kill someone. He forced a time limit on us. If no one killed anyone, we'd all be executed…That's when I came up with a plan. We had figured the mastermind was actually one of us, so I tried to set up a trap to kill the mastermind. I…I didn't tell anyone. Not even Shuichi. And when it went off, I thought I succeeded but…"
Kaede broke off from her monologue and glanced over at Rantaro. The piano player gulped as guilt ran through her mind and heart. The fact she had been able to compose herself until that moment surprised her, but the moment it did, it hit like a truck. She continued. "I ended up killing Rantaro instead. The moment our alarm system went off, I sent a metal ball through the ventilation system and it landed on Rantaro. I-I was horrified when the killing game continued. I didn't know how I could tell anyone just…outright, so…I had to lay it out so Shuichi could find out...I can't imagine how much my lie hurt him."
Kaede looked back over at Rantaro as her eyes went red and watery. "Rantaro, I can't expect to forgive me," she said, "but I really did not mean to get you killed."
Rantaro raised an eyebrow at Kaede. He was silent for a moment. He tapped his chin with his finger before lowering his hand to look at Kaede. "So, you dropped a metal ball on me? And that's how I was supposed to die?" he asked.
Kaede nodded. "I'm sorry."
Rantaro still had a look of confusion across his face. He tilted his head to the side. "Kaede…that ball didn't hit me."
Kaede's eyes widened. "Wait, what?"
"What are you talking about man?" Kaito asked. "We saw your body. Your head was busted open by that ball."
Rantaro shook his head. "It didn't. It landed right next to me."
Everyone from the Ultimate Academy was taken aback by this information. They turned to each other to discuss. "What does mean?" "Was Kaede not the killer?" "How did Rantaro die then?" "I thought we'd all get executed if guessed wrong" The discussion had begun to move in circles with everyone throwing out theories.
"B-but that doesn't make sense," Kaede shouted. "I know I killed him! It was my trap!
"Monokuma was just breaking his own rules again!" Hiyoko said.
"No, I think my original theory was right," Ryoma said. "The killer hid in the room after they killed Rantaro then pretended to join the group."
"But everyone had an alibi at that point," Kirumi said. "And we were too distracted for anyone to say they saw someone acting off."
"Wait, I think Hiyoko might be right," Tsumugi spoke up. "Maybe Monokuma did break his own rules and killed someone. Maybe the Mastermind did really kill Rantaro."
"Yeah, but we don't know who that is, idiot!" Miu spat out.
"Well, maybe that's the point," Tsumugi responded. "Maybe the Mastermind was someone none of us knew about." Tsumugi glanced over at Mukuro after that sentence.
Mukuro was briefly puzzled by Tsumugi's glance until it hit her. She rose up from her seat. "Are you seriously pinning this on me?!"
"You are the only person none of us have met," Celestia said. "Meaning no one can verify whatever story you may tell."
"There are also your supposed connections to Hope's Peak that haven't been explained," Kiyo said. "Unfortunate for you, you are the most suspicious person here."
"This is ridiculous," Mukuro said. "None of you have any proof of this."
"Yet we will have to discuss it later," Byakuya said. "But we've gotten off topic."
"Wait, you're just going to ignore how suspicious she is?" Leon asked.
"No. Kaito, Taka, and myself will interrogate Mukuro afterwards," Byakuya explained. "But for now, we must return to the topic at hand."
"Then it is my turn," Kirumi said. She rose up to her feet as Mukuro sat herself down. "I killed Ryoma in response to the second motive of our killing game. It seems Monokuma had decided to retool his first motive from Hope's Peak as it involved footage of our loved ones. However, Monokuma decided shuffle and give our videos to others. This drove a wedge between most of us. We were worried who had our videos and how they could use them against us. I received my own video, but it only reminded me of what I was needed for in the outside world."
"I knew I had to kill someone to return to my duties," she continued, "and I decided Ryoma would be the perfect target. As violent as his past is, I still held the physical advantage over him. Yet, when I made my move, he did nothing. He accepted his fate. He was willing to sacrifice himself for my gain."
There was a brief moment of silence. As desensitized as they all had become to the concepts of death, they couldn't help but still find the idea of someone throwing their own lives away sour. It was an idea no one liked to think about, especially the way Kirumi described it.
Leon had opened his mouth but his words kept getting stuck in his throat. After a few seconds, he finally asked. "Wh-why didn't he defend himself?"
Ryoma looked at Leon. His cartoonish eyes suddenly looked intimidating as they looked like pitch-black pits of despair. "I saw my video," he said in a cold, distant tone. "And nothing was on it. I had no one in the outside world. I had…nothing to live for."
Sayaka looked over at Ryoma. 'So he's not just depressed, he's suicidal,' she thought. She couldn't help but feel pity for the short man. She would have to talk to him later.
"I then took advantage of Himiko's magic show to hide the body," Kirumi said. "But, it was obviously discovered by Shuichi and I was executed." Kirumi bows her head down before everyone. "I cannot say I regret fighting to return to my duties, but I understand my actions were rash and nearly got all of you killed. For those of you there, I humbly request you two things. I wish for you all not to reveal what my duty was and…I wish for your forgiveness."
Byakuya shook his head. "Sorry, Kirumi," he said. "But everyone must reveal their motives-"
"You got it, Kirumi," Kaito interrupted.
Byakuya turned over to Kaito, clearly irritated by his willingness to go along with the girl's request. "Do you mind explaining why you're willing to cover up her motive?"
"Well, plenty of us already know it, so even if I agree to keep quiet, my classmates might not," Kaito explained. "And we want everyone willing to cooperate, right?"
Byakuya sighed. "You have a point," he said, still irritated. "Very well. I shall make a compromise with you. You will have two days to keep this information to yourself, but after that, you will have to tell everyone."
Kirumi bowed once again. "Understood," she said before taking a seat.
It was Kiyo's turn. He smiled underneath his mask and rose from his. "For the third motive, Monokuma claimed he had a Necronomicon, a book of the dead, one that could be used to revive a single soul back to the world of the living. However, I will admit, I had little interest in that."
Nekomaru raised an eyebrow. "Wait, if you didn't kill because of the motive, why did you kill someone anyway?"
"I had more personal reasons," Kiyo said before wrapping his arms around himself. "I did for my sister."
"So, you just wanted to return to her?" Nagito said.
"No," Kiyo frowned. "She has long since passed away. No. I wanted to give her company in the afterlife."
Mondo raised an eyebrow. The way Kiyo was talking made him cringe. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"He's a gross incest fucker that kills girls to get off!" Miu shouted.
"What?!" Tenko gasped. "You degenerate! You target women for your twisted fantasies!"
"It is not for me!" Kiyo slammed his hands onto the table. It took everyone aback. Their skins went white as they looked up at the towering man. "It was all for my sister. I love her dearly, and the fact she is without me in the afterlife saddens me…I will do what any good brother must and accommodate her needs."
"And that is why you killed me?" Angie asked.
"No," Kiyo said. "In fact, I never intended to kill you. You just happened to stumble across my plan for Tenko."
"What?!" Tenko's eyes bugged out of her skull. "Why me?!"
"You were perfect, Chabashira. Your devotion to protecting women was something my sister needed."
"Y-you creep…" Tenko gritted her teeth.
"So then, I believe this means you have no regrets for your actions," Celestia hypothesized.
"That is correct, Miss Ludenberg," Kiyo answered.
"That's enough!" Taka said. "You may be seated, Shinguji."
Taka watched as the anthropologist sat down. 'I will have to keep a close eye on him,' Taka thought.
"So, Gonta next?" the gentle giant asked.
"Yes, you are, Gonta," Kiato said. "Take your time and just tell us what you can remember."
"B-but Gonta don't remember," Gonta frowned. "Gonta forgot all when he left game world."
"Then I'll explain," Tsumugi said. "The fourth motive was a keycard that would finally reveal the truth of what happened to the outside world…We all now know what they saw. Kokichi, was particularly interested in the outside world and the keycard, so when we all entered the game world, he tricked Gonta into killing Miu."
"Oh yeah, by the way, what the Hell did you even kill me with anyway?" Miu asked.
"People say Gonta killed Miu with toilet paper," Gonta said.
"What?!" Miu gasped.
Kokichi giggled a bit. "Pretty fitting death for a trash bag, dumpster slut like you, huh?"
"N-ne….NYAH!" Miu moaned out loud.
"Wait, so Gonta forgot that he killed Miu in the game world," Kaede spoke up. "What I'm wondering is why he killed her. Gonta's a sweetheart. I feel like he'd need more of a reason to kill someone."
"Well, Miu was planning on killing me," Kokichi said.
Miu was able to snap out of arousal in time to hear what Kokichi said. Her eyes widened as everyone turned to face her. "U-um. I mean. Well…Kokichi's a dick!"
"Would you have risked everyone else's lives just to get back at Kokichi?" Kaito asked.
"I don't know!" Miu snapped. "You should be thankful someone actually wanted to deal with the little shit!"
"We all wanted to deal with him, but none of us wanted to resort to falling for Monokuma's tricks," Kaito said. "Although, that does lead to me then…"
"Yeah, don't get on me for trying to kill Kokichi when you actually did it," Miu rolled her eyes.
"You mentioned that the two of you worked together," Kirumi said. "To be honest, I never thought you two could ever do such a thing."
"Trust me, it wasn't willingly," Kaito said. "Maki Roll got into a fight with Kokichi where she ended up shooting him with poisoned darts. She would have become a blackened if Kokichi died, and Kokichi knew I didn't want that. That's when he told me his plan. He proposed that I kill him, but it would be in a way no one could tell it. Both of us would disappear, leaving it in the air if either me or Kokichi was the victim."
"But why would Kokichi make it like that?" Sayaka asked. "Did he not want to escape?"
"Of course I wanted to escape," Kokichi said. "But if I wasn't able to, then I'd make sure I'd still find a way to spite Monokuma and win." Kokichi's face twisted into a sinister smile. "I'd end the killing game."
"Interesting," Celestia said. "That's the first time you completely told the truth."
"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't," Kokichi smirked at the gambler.
"Then that's it for everyone," Byakuya said. "There was certainly a lot of information to process, but we shall have plenty of time to properly process it and discuss again later. But for now, you are all dismissed."
Everyone let out sighs of relief. The weight of guilt was lifted from most of their shoulders. It felt liberating. They all rose from their seats and began to exit the room.
However, just as Mukuro was about to leave, Byakuya grabbed a hold of her wrist. She turned around to see that the three self-appointed leaders were staying right at the table. She normally would have snapped the wrist of someone that grabbed her, but she kept herself under control. She shouldn't make more enemies than she already had.
"We still need answers from you," Byakuya said before releasing his grip.
Mukuro sighed before she turned around to face them all.
Sayaka was still shaken up from her confession. While she was far from being the least sympathetic person at the table, she was still revealed that she viewed her career as more important than other people. She needed to get her mind off of her guilt. 'Maybe investigating can take my mind off things,' Sayaka thought.
"So, where are we going?"
Sayaka turned her head to the side to see Tenko walking alongside her.
Sayaka tilted her head to the side. "You're coming with me?" she asked.
"Of course I am!" Tenko smiled. "I promised to protect from any degenerates, and I won't break my promise!"
Sayaka smiled at Tenko. "Thank you," she said softly.
Tenko nodded. "So, where are we going?"
Sayaka looked away from Tenko and down at the map on her monopod. She thought for a moment, before she made her decision. "That storage room Junko mentioned," Sayaka spoke, "she said there were a lot of stuff in there they still haven't investigated. Let's head there."
"Alright!" Tenko pumped her fists. "Lead the way!"
Sayaka nodded and left the living wing of the building and towards the classes.
Fuck, this took forever. It was combination of work scheduling me in constantly and just that this chapter is a shit tone of talking. I'm worried my pros, or just descriptions took a dip in quality. I like my dialogue, but dialogue is just one part of a story.
Although, this gave me a chance to give other characters the chance to speak, so that's fun. Loved writing more of Gundham, Celestia, Gonta, Kaede, and the others.
Of course, not everything was truly revealed. A mystery still needs to be a mystery.
Next chapter is going to be a big deal, so stay tuned for that.
