(Scenes from Legends of Tomorrow Season 5, Episodes 8 and 9)
35 days later, the Legends are adapting to Dr. Palmer and Ms. Darhk's joint departure. Some of them are still losing sleep for their own reasons. Charlie is having nightmares over her sisters. Mr. Rory is having paternal thoughts about his daughter. Captain Lance is reminiscing about her days with the founding Legends to Captain Sharpe. Dr. Heywood, who has bravely handled his heartbreak, is vividly dreaming about Miss Tarazi in a flannel shirt and jeans. Speaking of whom, I caught the hyphenate sleepwalking earlier this morning. I tried to wake her, only for her to assault my mainframe and program a "snooze" button.
Miss Tarazi eventually wakes up next to the historian in his bed. Both scream upon seeing each other: she finds this nightmarish; he finds it "awesome". They are fully clothed, so they didn't copulate. Dr. Heywood believes something must've subconsciously drawn her to his quarters. He also brings up their connection in an alternative timeline. Miss Tarazi conversely maintains that she is not his "dream girl".
In a haste, the hyphenate encounters her brother in the corridors. Mr. Tarazi is repairing my mainframe. He suspects there must be raccoons within the walls. Before I can correct him, his sister tells me to snooze. Dr. Heywood shows up after this. He returns her eye mask to her since she left it in his quarters. Charlie is intrigued at the presumption of them sleeping together. The historian and the megastar vehemently deny this. Mr. Tarazi doesn't hold any judgment as his sister and his best friend are "consenting adults". Mr. Rory joins in the discussion and advocates the need for shame. It "keeps you from hooking up with someone and ending up the parent of a 16-year-old daughter". He then portals to present-day Central City with a stuffed bear.
Simultaneously, Mr. Constantine walks by and snickers at the sight of Miss Tarazi and Dr. Heywood. The strange bedfellows disperse in opposite directions. The sorcerer moves onto Charlie with a discourse about the pursuit. She offers him a drink of whiskey in the parlour. "A stiff drink may indeed be in order," I weigh in. "I have some rather unfortunate news for you, Charlie." Three nights following her recruitment into the Legends in London 1977, an unknown assailant murdered the maverick Fate's former band. A heavily grief-stricken Charlie plays a vinyl of the Smell's album "Suck My Anarchy". She reads the newspaper article on the tragedy, while she drinks a bottle of whiskey.
Captains Lance and Sharpe were having breakfast when Mr. Tarazi informed them. They enter the parlour to check in on her. "Charlie, hey," Captain Sharpe calls. "We came as soon as we heard. Look, the Prognosticator's scanning the timeline for Encore activity. Trust me, we're gonna figure out who's responsible for this."
Charlie turns off the gramophone and wipes the tear stains on her face. "This wasn't the work of an Encore. This was my sister, Atropos."
"How can you tell?"
She reads a line from the newspaper. "'The victim was burnt from the inside.' She's a deity. That's her signature move."
Mr. Constantine overheard much of the conversation. "Well, I'm sorry about your friends, Charlie, but, uh, your sister just fired one hell of a warning shot. Now we need to get back out there and find that Loom piece before she does." He surely wastes no time.
The deity furiously jumps to her feet, holding herself. "Oh, will you just piss off, John?"
Captain Lance also glares at the cynical sorcerer. She then approaches her. "Hey, Charlie. Look, I'm sorry. I—I've lost friends, too. I know what you're going through."
Charlie swivels around to face her. "Look, I respect your condolences, but you don't have a bloody clue what I'm going through." After that, she storms out of the parlour.
"Well, she's right," the captain asserts with crossed arms. "We're putting the hunt for the Loom on hold. And it's probably for the best. With Ray gone, we're still trying to find our feet."
"That gives us time to make a game plan," Captain Sharpe agrees.
"But we do have a game plan," Mr. Constantine persists. We need to get the next piece." He points to a glass box on the table, where the first piece of the Loom is kept. It is positioned between two vacant pillars.
"Look, John," Captain Lance opposes, "if you wanna help, then look into what we're up against. She's a deity. I don't wanna take the team into a situation we can't get out of." She departs the parlour with Captain Sharpe following her.
"Yeah, yeah. All right, all right." He raises his hands in mock surrender. "I overstepped the mark, didn't I? I'm sorry." Mr. Constantine retrieves an unusual pendant from his coat pocket. "I'm sorry, Charlie, but my promise to Astra and her mum cannot wait for your tears to dry." He chants a Latin phrase, illuminating the powerful ring. The pendant likewise beams on the spinning globe. It pinpoints a location for the sorcerer upon stopping. He gleefully heads for the jumpship without being noticed by the other Legends.
I had to wait an hour before notifying the captains. They, alongside Charlie, head for the bridge. "Gideon, next time John steals the jumpship," Captain Lance remarks, "a little heads-up would be nice."
"Thanks to Miss Tarazi, I'm still stuck on snooze mode."
"Is your sister just looking for you," Captain Sharpe inquires Charlie, "or is she looking for the Loom?"
"Both, I reckon."
"We have to go after him," Captain Lance says once they draw near the console.
"'We'?" The Fate's proclamation redirects the captains' attention to her. "That bastard's the reason I'm mortal. I don't owe him squat."
"He's going after the ring," Captain Sharpe declares. "You're the only one who knows where he's headed." Not entirely true.
"Look, we'll be in and out," Captain Lance entreats.
"Okay, fine," Charlie relents. "Soon as we get going, the sooner I can get back to drinking in peace." She takes a sip out of her flask.
"Great, let's portal." Before they can do so, they hear another portal opening in the western corridor. An enraged Mr. Rory stomps through the bridge. The teddy bear he has brought now has a missing head. He loudly growls that "parenting sucks".
Captain Sharpe observes the reluctant father's exit. "Hmm, maybe I should stay," she recommends.
Her partner smirks, "Are you volunteering for Rory duty?" The second captain is caught off-guard, but she's stopped from justifying. "Ava Sharpe, you are a better woman than I." She kisses her, which the latter accepts. I have sent the coordinates of the jumpship into her time courier. "Okay, babe. Catch you on the flip side."
"Stay safe," she expresses as Captain Lance and Charlie portal to present-day British Colombia. Afterwards, Captain Sharpe finds Mr. Rory drinking alone in the galley. He has placed the decapitated teddy bear on the table opposite him. "Kid's not into bears, huh?"
He points to it, commenting, "She ripped its head off."
"Yeah, I see that. Like father, like daughter." Enough said. "I mean, hey, you should be proud. At least she's tough like you."
"She said I ruined her life." Ouch. "Now, I gotta portal back to that stupid reunion party and stop myself from sleeping with Ali."
Captain Sharpe halts him from leaving. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. There are so many reasons why that's a bad idea."
"Don't care."
"Stop. You can't just erase your daughter's existence, Mick. There has to be another option." She suddenly has an idea.
"What?"
"What if we go back through the last 15 years, and we—and we place you into her key memories?"
"Like a highlight reel?"
"Yeah, I mean, it's kind of what Rip did with me. Programmed me with a bunch of memories that added up to be a childhood. It wasn't perfect, but I turned out okay." I can predict this is not going to end well.
"She's not a clone."
"Ouch. Yeah, she's not a hmm, but she is programmable in a sense."
"Won't work."
"Why?"
"I spent the first 10 years of her life in prison."
"Right," she mutters. Then, I see her perking up. "I have an idea." Captain Sharpe decides to pose as Mr. Rory's parole officer. That way, it'll give the impression that he's allowed a supervised release. She orders me to retrieve a profile on his daughter, so they can read on her highlights. This technically construed as cheating. Their first stop is in Victorian-era England for a bassinet. Next, they portal to 2004 Central City moments before the birth.
Meanwhile, Miss Tarazi is strolling through the corridor when she stops. She advances to the lab, where her brother is reposing in the lounge. He doesn't see the hyphenate searching for something. He looks over his shoulder perplexed when she begins meowing. Mr. Tarazi asks if this is a reaction to the situation with Dr. Heywood. His sister thinks she's losing her sanity. The technician calms her down enough to offer her to play a video game with him. Surprisingly, she defeats him despite her lack of experience. Miss Tarazi believes she's haunted by someone who plays video games, dresses tomboyish, and does "awful things" like eating doughnuts and cuddling with Dr. Heywood. At the same time, a gust of wind projects from her hands. Not even I know how she did that.
Mr. Tarazi calls the historian to the lab, so they can explain to Miss Tarazi what happened in the HeyWorld incident. The technician draws out an equation on the whiteboard to accumulate the details. It is conclusive that his sister may be experiencing a temporal echo resulting by the changed timeline. Simply stated, there was a different version of her who was the Legends' technician and wielded the Air totem. Dr. Heywood and Mr. Tarazi are effusive about what a super team the three of them would've been. Miss Tarazi, on the other hand, doesn't share their reaction.
She goes to the galley to fabricate a doughnut. Instead of eating it, she is speaking to it. It doesn't take long for the technician to notice this. He eats her doughnut, so she drinks her bottled juice. The hyphenate recollects being the center of attention since she was six. She confesses feeling "weird to have to share the spotlight". Something her younger brother can correlate to. Moreover, her alternate self seems to be more purposeful. Mr. Tarazi reassures her that she's his "favorite Zari of all time". As for Dr. Heywood, he has a propensity for doomed romances. The technician advises that she continues her self-exploration journey with a Totem quest to visit their ancestors. Despite the possibility of her using a psychotropic agent is high, she complies. He prepares the Lyoga root into a tea for her. She drinks half of the cup.
The portal opens; Captain Sharpe returns without Mr. Rory. She stumbles across the Tarazi siblings arranging the totem quest in the parlour. Mr. Tarazi lights the candles enclosing his sister. "Uh, what's going on?" He shushes her, so his sister won't lose her concentration.
"Hey, girl," she greets the captain with closed eyes.
The technician whispers, "Zari just took some Lyoga root. She needs a little totem trip to figure out her stuff."
Captain Sharpe witnesses the spectacle. "Uh, Gideon," she queries, "what's the status of the away-team?"
"The jumpship is not responding."
"Gideon, we've talked about this. Un-snooze." She exits the bridge, reprimanding, "You need to tell me about things before they happen, not after." I've lost connection to the jumpship earlier. All attempts to contact Captain Lance and Charlie were unsuccessful.
Miss Tarazi opens her eyes. "Okay, we should help them." As she staggers to get up, the Lyoga tea compels her to sit back down. The hyphenate queries her brother if she can detox. He kneels besides her, saying "the fun of drugs" is that you can't "un-take" them. Furthermore, this is crucial for her to find answers. Miss Tarazi closes her eyes again and lets the hallucinogen take over her.
After Captain Sharpe accosts me for being stuck on snooze, she requests me to set a course to present-day British Colombia. As the Waverider lands in a forest outside Vancouver, I notice the ring glowing in the parlour again. She and Dr. Heywood disembark to search for Captain Lance, Charlie, and Mr. Constantine. A stoical woman enters the cargo bay. Her ominous presence seems to affect the lights on board. She's wearing a similar ring on her finger. The determined intruder travels through the corridors. Unbeknownst to her, Mr. Tarazi hides behind one of the doors. "Ava, we have a problem," he calls. He describes the intruder as "a very slinky lady in a red leather pantsuit". Though that's his preference, she is "giving off a super 'I wanna kill you in the worst possible way' vibe".
"Oh my goodness, that must be Charlie's sister," Captain Sharpe deduces. "Listen, you need to wake up Zari and get off the ship."
"Already on it." Mr. Tarazi takes an alternative route to the parlour. Miss Tarazi is still undertaking her totem quest. He tries in vain to wake her up. The arrival of Charlie's sister, Atropos, alarms the unguarded technician. Her attention is drawn to the ring in the box. He stops her from confiscating it. The monotone Fate perceives the blood ties between the two Legends. She flatly tells him that she is taking the ring, whether Miss Tarazi dies is his choice. Mr. Tarazi steps down since he doesn't want his sister to die. Breaking the glass box, Atropos steals the ring and goes to leave. Mr. Tarazi tries to strike her with the Hell sword. She instinctively grabs his wrist, preventing his move and forcing him to drop it. The unwelcoming Fate notes that he doesn't belong in this timeline. She sticks her hand in his chest and retrieves a gleaming thread. At this point, Captain Lance carries a wounded Charlie into the bridge. They watch horrorstruck as Atropos cuts the technician's lifeline with her bony dagger and drops him to the floor. The captain rushes to his side, while the murderous Fate heads out. Captain Sharpe and Dr. Heywood dart in upon hearing Charlie scream. Seeing the fallen Legend, the former asks, "Is he…?"
Captain Lance speedily grabs the sword. "Get the ship into the air."
"She's still on the ship," her partner insists.
"Just do it!" She follows Atropos into the cargo bay. "You're not getting off this ship alive."
The latter twirls to acknowledge the captain. "You saw my true form and survived." For someone so monotonic, she sounds surprised. "What are you?"
"Your worst nightmare." The two women spar; the Fate blocks and evades without effect, gaining the upper hand. Captain Lance stabs Atropos in the abdomen, but it isn't fatal. She is then knocked to the floor. Her opponent hovers over her, aiming to use her daggers again.
"You can't kill me. I'm a deity."
This doesn't scare Captain Lance. "Yeah? I've faced worse. Gideon, you'd better be awake, 'cause I need you to open the door now!" No need to ask twice. The Fate tumbles but grabs hold of the captain's leg. She herself clings to the foot of the ladder. Out of her paralysis, Charlie races to the cargo bay. She obtains the Hell sword from the doorsill and squeezes Captain Lance's hand.
The former Fate looks at her sister, quipping, "Fate's a *itch, ain't it?" With that said, she sends Atropos flying into the Temporal Zone. I close the door immediately after this. The sliced hand vanishes as well, leaving the two Loom rings behind. "Not bad," Charlie comments as she attains them.
Captain Lance rests against the wall. She absentmindedly murmurs, "Nice." They return to the bridge, where the gravity of Mr. Tarazi's death is looming. A distraught Charlie slumps on the parlour's exterior wall. She bitterly mumbles under her breath.
Captain Sharpe and Dr. Heywood wait inside the parlour for Miss Tarazi. She recovers consciousness and is eager to divulge what has occurred on her totem quest. "Where's Behrad?"
"Z, umm…," the historian begins.
"What's going on? Where is—" The hyphenate peers behind him at Captain Lance kneeling over Mr. Tarazi's body. The expression on her face changes into one of distress. She leaps up and runs to her brother's side. Captain Sharpe fails to restrain her. Miss Tarazi pleads for him to wake up. A flood of running tears spoils her mascara. The captains drag the sobbing hyphenate away. "How did this happen," she hysterically wails. "How did you let this happen?" The Legends stay with Miss Tarazi for comfort; however, she remains inconsolable. One by one, they let her be per her request.
Following five straight hours of crying, the self-possessed hyphenate charges to the medbay. Mr. Constantine has been recuperating since Charlie's sister wounded him too. Miss Tarazi blames him for her brother's demise. She queries whether the Loom of Fate can revive a person's life. The sorcerer confirms this, but he warns that the situation has gotten riskier with Charlie's sisters after them. The hyphenate is staunch about her decision. Until Mr. Constantine saves Mr. Tarazi, she will be with the sorcerer "every minute of every damn day".
Along with this deal, Miss Tarazi has her brother's body cryopreserved on the ship. The other Legends are privy to both arrangements. The pursuit of the final Loom ring is underway the following morning. Charlie has swapped her usual attire for a more radical one. She says she wants to "change it up". The Legends reconvene in the bridge, where the ex-Fate recounts how she entrusted another mate of hers with the last piece. They figured that Charlie had a different appearance at that time. Her friend, who dubs herself "Enchantress", agreed to the theft and destruction of the Loom. She believed it's good that humanity's status quo "should be shaken up every few millennia". The narrator instructed the latter to ensure no one, especially herself or Lachesis, will acquire the powerful ring.
"Question," Captain Sharpe interrupts, "La-who?"
"Lachesis," Charlie repeats. "She's my eldest sister and the leader of the Fates. Now, she's a real master manipulator. Atropos kills because Lachesis wills it." She finishes her story, recollecting the Enchantress's spell on the ring and warning. "And that is the last thing I remember."
Mr. Constantine surmises, "You have no idea what spell Enchantress cast?"
"Well, that would kind of defeat the whole point of going to her, now wouldn't it?"
"But, Charlie," Captain Lance asserts, "all we need is the third ring to bring Behrad back—"
Dr. Heywood reproaches, "And now you're telling us it's impossible to find? Maybe you could've mentioned that before your sister got on the ship."
"See," the ex-Fate attests, "this is exactly the kind of thing I was afraid would happen."
"Stop," Captain Sharpe exclaims. "Passing blame is not gonna help anything."
Charlie glimpses in Miss Tarazi's direction. "I'm sorry, Z." She refuses to give up since the Enchantress is involved with magic. After all, the Legends have Mr. Constantine on their side. The hyphenate commands him to "do some hocus pocus and find the ring". However, it isn't a simple task; according to the sorcerer, uncovering any object hidden by someone with the Enchantress's capabilities "can take months, maybe even years". Still, she denounces this and tells the "magic man" to "figure it out fast". Miss Tarazi walks out of the bridge with everyone feeling uneasy.
She retreats to the galley, where she fingers the Air totem on her wrist. Dr. Heywood joins the hyphenate to check in on her. He offers his shoulder for her to lead on if she wishes to speak about her brother. Maybe Miss Tarazi is deluding herself; regardless, she is set on getting him back. She notifies the historian that she has conversed with her alternate self. While the latter didn't have a message for him, the former knows she still has feelings for him. Mr. Tarazi's prior observation about Dr. Heywood is on point. He also confesses to caring about Miss Tarazi as well. The sentimental moment is disrupted by Mr. Constantine, who has a possible solution. He escorts the Legends to his house via a portal. While they are gone, I monitor the cryonics on Mr. Tarazi's body. The temperature is low, and the container is well insinuated. He isn't the only afflicted Legend.
I have noticed Captain Lance rapidly blinking a lot since yesterday. Charlie is also aware of this, but the captain has insisted it's nothing. The Legends excluding Miss Tarazi and Mr. Constantine suddenly reembark on the Waverider. Captain Sharpe and Charlie transport an unconscious Captain Lance into the medbay. I administer a scan on her brain, while the ex-Fate explains to the distressful captain how her partner endured witnessing Atropos' true form. She strokes her hand as I render the evaluation. "Captain Lance is experiencing unusual activity in the striatum, a region of the brain that processes time. I am continuing to run tests to determine the cause."
"So, Atropos not only killed Behrad," Captain Sharpe verbalizes, "but also managed to put Sara in a coma. I don't think the team's gonna survive another run-in with your sister, Charlie."
"Well, if we had it my way," she gripes, "we never would've run into her in the first place." The captain glances down, knowing she was valid.
I interpose, "Pardon me, but Dr. Heywood and Mr. Green are requesting your presence on the bridge." I've forgotten to add that the latter is attending the Legends amid the subsequent events. "The Prognosticator is showing unusual Encore activity." Captain Sharpe is reluctant to leave her partner's side.
"Hey," Charlie expresses, "you got this, Captain."
"Right. Captain." They strut into the bridge. The historian and the sorcerer's apprentice are surveying the moving dots.
"All the Encores are moving," Dr. Heywood confirms. "More specifically, they're all heading towards a particular point."
"Looks like they're hunting something," Charlie suspects.
"Or someone. Astra must have sent the Encores after John. Gideon, pinpoint where and when they're converging." Yes, Captain Sharpe. "See, guys? I knew all my time spent creating the Prognosticator would be worth it." It was a group effort.
Mr. Green lauds, "Ava Sharpe saves the day again." And, to think he was on board a month and 24 days ago. Unfortunately, his blandishment is premature as I come across an error with the software.
"I'm sorry, Captain," I declare. "It appears that the Prognosticator is not equipped to handle time-traveling Encores." Having said that, I deactivate it. She growls and shakes her hands in frustration. I presume she doesn't intend on strangling me.
Dr. Heywood advises, "Ava, take a deep breath—"
"You know what? We don't even know if Sara's gonna wake up, and if she does, she's gonna find out that two of the Legends are missing. This is beyond unacceptable." Indeed.
The captain is encroached by her former associate. "Let's just sit down," he entreats. "I'll brew you a cup of your favorite herbal tea—"
She disregards him and heads to the parlour. "I'm not gonna sit around and do nothing. If we can't track the Encores, we'll have to go after them at the source—Astra."
Charlie affirms, "I seriously doubt she's just gonna agree to stop doing whatever her current evil plan is."
Captain Sharpe swings around the Hell sword. She strides forward, stating, "That's why I'm not gonna give her a choice." Mr. Green uses the bag of black dust to create a circle on the lab floor. The captain addresses Charlie and Dr. Heywood, "All right, while I'm down there, you two need to work on fixing the Prognosticator, so we can track down John and Zari."
"Well, tech is not really—"
"Charlie," she utters, while placing the sword in its sheath.
This promptly stops her from finalizing her statement. "Sure, we'll figure it out."
The historian glances at the sorcerer's apprentice. "Uh, I feel like somebody has to ask you. Are you certain you want Gary to take you to Hell?"
Mr. Green admits, "I was kinda wondering the same thing." Ditto.
"Look, Gary's the only wizard I have access to," Captain Sharpe elucidates, "and besides, I'm not only taking Gary down there; I'm gonna take some extra muscle too."
Dr. Heywood props himself by stretching his arms. "Well, thank you for noticing the extra reps I've been putting on the lat machine." She isn't referring to you. Mr. Rory, who has come back from present-day Central City, enters the lab.
"You ready, Mick?"
"Oh," the historian disappointedly mutters.
The ex-Fate quizzes, "Oh, Mick, I thought you were taking time off to hang out with the kid?"
"She told me to go to Hell," the ex-con verifies. What a coincidence. "Where are we headed?"
"The portal to Hell is ready, Captain," Mr. Green announces. He holds up a vial to his face. "All that's left is… for me to drink some of this demon blood."
"Come on, Gary," she impatiently snaps.
"Okay, yeah. Okay." He swallows it in one gulp. At least, he didn't lick the blood off someone. "Huh, it's actually quite tangy."
"Okay, how do we do this?" Captain Sharpe has seen Mr. Constantine's use of the spell twice or thrice to know what entails.
"I will say some words, and then the sigil will transport us to Hell for precisely four hours." The novice wizard sets a timer on his courier in case. "After that, we'll be transported right back here."
"Sounds good to me," Mr. Rory says.
"Enter." They and Captain Sharpe step inside the circle. Mr. Green unfolds a piece of paper and reads the words written down. He sounded obnoxiously pretentious like Mr. Constantine when he did.
"All right, Mick, get ready to light it up." Once he did, the sigil is left burning in a steady pace. I'd believed that Mr. Green's desire to be the sorcerer's apprentice was due to his fascination with the fantastical world. Now, I'm considering that he relishes tailing after his teacher. It's why he dotes on Captain Sharpe so much.
Not long after the trio left, Charlie accepts Dr. Heywood's invitation for beer. Neither of them is going to fix the Prognosticator. Not because they don't want to; they are not specialized in computer science. The historian and the ex-Fate lounge in beach chairs the whole time. While they are intoxicating themselves, he tells her about his sexual trysts with Miss Jiwe. The travelers return four hours later Mr. Rory grabs himself before he portals himself to present-day Central City.
Charlie is shocked to see the young woman in a pantsuit accompanying them. "Is that…"
Captain Sharpe introduces, "Meet Astra." According to her file, Miss Logue was born in 2005 and unintentionally condemned in 2014. She is supposed to be 15 by now. The person Captain Sharpe brought has aged a decade at most.
"Why does she have the sword," Dr. Heywood inquires.
"There's no time to explain. We got to move." She bolts out of the lab and into the bridge. "Gideon, plot a course to 1910 Northumberland County." Upon arrival, the captain requests the historian to find Mr. Constantine and Miss Tarazi inside an inn. The final Loom ring is discovered along with a collection of Hell weapons. Each of which belonged to these Encores: Jack the Ripper, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Black Caesar, Marcus Junius Brutus, and King Henry VIII.
In the galley, the hyphenate recollects her use of the Air totem to the historian. The experience was "terrifying but amazing". She felt like Mr. Tarazi was with her intangibly. Dr. Heywood states he'd be proud of his sister as he himself is of her. Just as the historian hugs the hyphenate, she intently gazes at Mr. Constantine. He gives her a crooked smile before Mr. Green rushes in and squeezes him from behind. I rest my case. A wildered Captain Sharpe walks past them. "Hey," the sorcerer queries her, "how's Sara doing?"
"She's still unconscious." I'm still running tests on her. The captain attains a beer from the refrigerator. "Charlie's sitting with her now. I'm going to distract myself by fixing the Prognosticator."
"Technical skills are not Charlie and I's strong suit," Dr. Heywood discloses.
"I know," she receptively whispers. As do I.
"Whoa, whoa, hold on a tick." The sorcerer questions, "If that contraption is broken, how the hell did you find us?"
"Uh, about that…" Miss Logue incidentally enters the galley, greeting him. Mr. Constantine regards her in a complete shock.
