CHAPTER THREE
Chapter 3: Closer
P-please…have mercy…" He managed to choke out pleadingly as he tried and failed to pry the foot of the one that has attacked him off his chest.
"Seriously, mercy? 'What goes around comes around' never heard of that before?" Ken said with a shake of his head. The man was going to continue begging butKen raised his foot and stomped down harder on the man's chest causing him to gasp in pain and cough up blood. Bones were cracked from the force. "Besides, I'm all out of mercy. You and your lackeys didn't show any mercy to the women and children you brought here."
He had caught whiff of a human trafficking business somewhere in Osaka and immediately went to bust it up. With La Brava and Nagant's help, it wasn't hard. He was currently in what used to be the base of operations.
Dead bodies were sprawled everywhere covered mostly by rubble and fire and that continuously spreading everywhere. There were large holes around the large place thanks to yours truly.
Having enough of the man's begging the man's begging, he coated his feet in flames and stomped hard on the man's face, blowing into bits while burning it. A quick death.
Huh, maybe he was feeling merciful. Torturing him would have done the trick.
With all that done, he walked out of the now collapsing building with the sounds of police and fire department sirens not too far off. He could also sense that a few heroes were on their way.
Not wasting time, he leaped up to a nearby roof and began leaping from roof to roof. Eventually he landed in a random alley and sighed before his face gained a serious expression.
"I could sense you for a while now. Come out now before I make you." He said only to lean his head to the right as a slash of wind that sliced through the wall behind him.
'The hell?'
Quickly spinning around, his crossed his arms, blocking a blow to his face but it was strong enough to send him flying into the empty street and smashing through a closed down store.
Shaking his head, the vigilante leaped out of the store only to roll to the side causing the store to he slices in half. Before he could comment on the attack, a large shadow loomed over him and he looked up to notice a large chunk of earth falling at him.
Forming a large ball of pure energy, he launched it at the rock, blasting it to little chunks of earth. He then felt the air behind him shift and felt a presence causing him to turn quickly and block a sword stab to the head.
The assailant, obviously female, eyes widened as Ken sent a strong punch at her sending her tumbling across the road. Before he could charge at her, he felt the ground beneath him shift causing him to lose his balance before a pillar of earth shot from the ground, launching him through another building.
"Are you okay?" A blonde haired male asked as he walked up to the downed woman.
"Fine…" She said as she got on her feet.
"Did AFO send you?" Ken asked as he walked out of the building looking mostly unarmed except the dirt marks on him. The two kept silent as they took on fighting stances. "Hmm alright then."
Clenching his fist and punching forward, he sent large boulders at the blue eyed vigilante. Ken punches one to pieces and dodged the others before he spun around, mid air to dodge another slash of wind that would have skewered him if it had landed.
"That's quite the quirk you got?" Ken commented as he landed before dodging earth spikes aimed at him. "But you're not the only one who can do that?"
Suddenly to their shock, Ken formed a wind blade on both arms and sent wind slashes at the two, faster than they could dodge.
Out of reflexes, the blonde haired man raised an earth wall that blocked the slash but got destroyed in the process causing large explosion of earth, rubble and smoke.
Smoke that Ken had run through and landed a powerful blow to the man's chest sending him flying.
"Hiro!" The woman yelled before dodging a blast of energy from Ken. She charged with fast speeds, using her control over the wind to reduce air resistance on her person and continuously sliced at him with her blade.
Ken kept evading her attacks with ease before ducking under another attack and delivering an uppercut to her chin, disorientating her and sending her flying upwards. She didn't fly very far as Ken grabbed her by her feet and smashed her hard against the concrete road causing cracks to form and blood to fly out of her mouth.
Before he could continue he caught a boulder aimed at his head which sent him skidding backwards before he threw it back at the now identified Hiro who was unprepared for it and sent to the ground again.
"Are you done?" Ken asked in a mocking tone causing both attackers to grit their teeth. The woman gathered large amounts of wind on her free hand and blasted a mini tornado at him sending him flying upwards as he had not been expecting it. As he started to fall back down, earth spikes and wind slashes were coming at him from all directions causing Ken to widen his eyes before releasing a massive wave of energy that dispersed the attacks and caused a massive shockwave that blew the two and man my other surroundings stores, cars away.
The former hero in training landed on the ground before walking up to the still recovering woman, grabbing her by the neck and raising her up. "Alright lady, who the hell sent you?"
"W-why should I tell you?" She choked out angrily.
"Well, I think you will…" Pointing a spinning ball of energy at the downed Hiro. "…unless you wanna see your boyfriend over there sent to the afterlife."
The woman's eyes widened as the ball seemed to grow larger by the second, she knew he'd he killed if it landed.
"W-wait…d-don't…"
"Answer the fucking question."
"It…it was Madame President…"
"Madame President? Of the Hero Association?" Ken asked. His eyes widening when the woman nodded her head.
"Why?"
"You were a threat to their plans…so she sent us to get rid of you."
"I see…" Ken thought as he three the woman to the floor. 'I knew she and her group were shady but I didn't expect for them to come after me. And plans? What plans? Maybe Kaina knows something.'
"Alright then…" He looked towards her with a cold gaze that sent shivers down her spine. "Here's how this is gonna go…"
Next Day…
"What the heck happened here?" Suneater asked a police officer as he and Red Riot walked through the now destroyed area where the fight has taken place.
"I don't know sir. It's clear a battle took place here but we don't know who or what we're involved."
"Why were the police here in time?" Kirishima asked as he looked around to see if there were any possible clues.
"We would but minutes before that we had received reports of a fire and arrived a destroyed building a a minutes away from here so we were dealing with that."
"Any witness reports?"
The cop nodded. "Yeah a few civilians that had been caught in the crossfire had said they saw blasts of energy flying around the place during the battle." Both heroes eyes widened. "We have a list of potential suspects but I have a feeling we know who it is."
'Nagato? What was he doing here?' Both heroes thought.
"Wait, the burning building, what did you find in it?" Suneater asked
The cop frowned. "Apparently it used to be the base of operations for some illegal activities. Money laundering, illegal selling of drugs and human trafficking."
Red Riot scowled. Something like this has been happening in the city and they hadn't noticed.
"Any survivors?"
"None."
"Dammit…" Suneater muttered with a frown. Should have expected that.
"Alright then, continue with your work and notify us if there's anything new."
"Got it."
The cop left and Suneater and Kirishima just stood there in silence. The red head was about to speak up when a beeping sound alerted the two to their phones.
Drawing them out, they saw a message that came from the same person.
'Endeavor?'
Flashback…
Izuku hit the ground with a loud this panting heavily as she tried to catcher breath. "D-dammit…"
"Had enough yet?" Ken asked as he walked up to the downed girl. "At least you're starting to get a good handle of that new quirk."
The two had been in one of UA's maining training rooms. He has been helping her get good handle on Black whip, a quirk she had gotten recently.
It was quite a handy quirk.
"Y-yeah…" She panted out as she sat up. The older male handing her a bottle of water which she emptied quickly. "Thanks…"
"You know Izuki, you've improved quite a lot." He said. "I remember when you first came for the exams, you were so shy and clumsy. Quite adorable."
Izuki blushes slightly at the comment. She had gotten used to him complementing her but it still got her flustered.
"Y-you think so…"
"Yup." Ken grinned. "Soon enough, you'll be strong enough to become no.1 just like All Might."
"Couldn't have done it without you…" She mumbled but Ken seemed to hear her
"Of course you couldn't. I'm awesome aren't I?" He said in a cocky smile causing her to roll her eyes with a small smile.
Flashback Over…
"Ochako?" Izuki asked with a brow raised in surprise. She hadn't expected anyone to come over anytime soon. Something must be up.
"Hey, Izuki." The brown haired girl greeted with a smile that didn't reach the eyes. "Can I come in?"
"Sure…" She nodded allowing her friend in before locking the door. "Can I get you anything?"
"Just water please." Uraraka said as she reached they reached the living room of the apartment Izuki was living in. Izuki nodded and left to get her some.
She looked towards the TV which was switched on and her expression immediately saddened at what she saw.
It was a picture of him.
Ever since it was confirmed that he was the one going around delivering brutal beatdowns and murders to criminals all over the country about a year ago, the news outlet had been all over it taking any opportunity they get to either throw insults at him or praise him for the 'good' work he was doing.
Honestly it made her blood boil at times.
Either they saw him as the villain or the hero willing to go get his hands dirty for the sake of everyone.
"Ochako?"
Snapping out of her thoughts, she turned to Izuku who handed her a glass of water which she took with a thanks. Izuki frowned once she saw what had her friend in such a saddened death.
"Not this again?"
Ochako just stayed silent for a few seconds as Izuki sat beside her before speaking.
"Do you think he hates us?"
Izuki' s eyes widened in surprise. This was not something she expected her friend to ask her but now that she thought of it, it wasn't really a question that should shock her given the situation.
"Honestly, I'd like to say no." Izuki answered. "I was pretty close to him so I knew him enough to know he never really knew how to hate anyone." She continued.
"But…?"
"But…things are different now. I don't know how he thinks now, with everything that has happened to him, I won't blame him if he did."
Fyhe thought of him hating her or any of them was enough to make her feel like bawling out and her chest to tighten in pain.
"Everyday, I think to myself, if only we had done things differently. If I had done things differently. He'd still be that same jolly idiot that got a smile out of almost anyone." Ochako said with a grimace as she thought back to that day more than a year ago. "It hurts whenever I hear all these things about him. The crimes, the insults, even the praise." Tears where leaking from the corner of her eyes.
"Me too." Izuki sighed. "But it's all in the past now…" She said holding Ochako's hand while looking at her. "All we can do is do our best to find him and then we can all apologize."
"And if he refuses to forgive us…then we can just make him by treating him to his best food."
Ochako giggled at that.
He did love his food.
Flashback…
"Give…her back…" Overhaul growled as he loomed over the two heroes and his target, Eri standing massively as a massive monstrous figure as he glared at them. "SHE'S MINE!"
Ken glared back at him with even more vigor. This man. No, he wasn't human. No sane human would do what he had done to a kid. This…monster was really pissing him off. He had never know fury till he had met this villain. He looked at Izuki who was still holding onto the shaking Eri.
"Izuki, get Eric out of here." He said in a firm tone trying to contain his anger.
"W-what?"
"One of us needs to get her out of there and I really want to hit this guy." Blue energy flared to life engulfing his clenched fists. "So go now and don't…make…me repeat myself."
Izuki knew how angry he was, she could understand because she was in the same boat. She nodded her head and activated her quirk, dashing at inhuman speeds away from the fight that was coming.
"YOU THINK YOU'LL GET AWAY WITH HER YOU BRAT!" Smashing a giant fist to the ground causing it to shake. "ONCE I'M DONE WITH YOU, I'LL KILL ALL THE OTHERS AND TAKE ERI BACK!"
He hadn't has the time to react to anything after the words left his mouth as before he knew it, the brat was immediately in front of him and has sent him flying upwards with a large fist made of pure energy.
Ken, not wasting any time blasted up towards him. He was gonna teach this piece of shit a lesson.
Flashback Over…
'This could end bad for me if I'm not careful.'
Of all the places he has decided to head to today, he just had to pick this one. He didn't know why, we all actually he knew why.
He had other places to be actually but for some reason, he felt like coming here first before anything else.
He looked up at the school, feeling a sense of nostalgia as he looked up at the school were he once attended, where he had hoped to fulfill his previous dreams of being a hero.
UA
Why was he here again? If he was spotted, he would be in serious trouble.
Oh yeah, now I remember.
Suddenly a black vehicle drove and parked right in front of of the school gates. A rather familiar car, one he was waiting for.
Out of the car was a familiar scruffy looking man. Aizawa. Ken nodded before looking at the girl he was holding.
Snow white hair with white skin and a small horn on the right side of her head.
She was still kinda adorable.
He really wanted to go and hold her but he resisted the urge.
'Good to see she's okay.' He thought with a sigh before blasting away in supersonic speeds.
'Kaina? Prepare your stuff, we're heading to Yokohama.' He said through the communicator in his ear.
Flashback…
"Hey there Eri." Ken said as he walked into the hospital room where the girl was kept in. He was still pissed, angry, furious. He really wanted to kill Overhaul but stopped himself before he could.
'At least he's gonna rot in a cell.' He thought with a sense of satisfaction.
Eri looked up with a frown still on her face but he could see the surprise in her eyes.
"Y-you're okay …" She muttered lowly and Ken winced slightly at the tone of her voice.
"Yup. Took down Overhaul myself." Hensaid as he sat beside the girl. "So you don't have to worry about him ever again?"
"S-so he's gone?"
Ken nodded. His sent a small smile at her which turned to a frown when he saw her attempt to smile back but couldn't seem to.
'Okay, I really should have killed that bastard.'
At least Eri was safe from danger.
Now to think of a way to get this cute bean to start smiling.
And that's it for this chapter. I wanna know your thoughts so far. Also before you think of giving me ideas, I already ha e the first arc all but done and it's just left to type it down and post it.
