Izuku sat calmly in the principal's office, his expression focused and composed. Across from him sat Nezu, the intelligent principal of U.A., flanked by several teachers. Toshinori Yagi, in his thin, frail form, stood quietly in the corner, while Aizawa, Thirteen, and several other faculty members waited for his explanation.
Nezu's gaze was sharp yet understanding. "Midoriya, your actions during the incident at USJ were… remarkable, to say the least. But we need to understand more about what exactly happened and how you were able to stop the attack."
Izuku nodded, meeting Nezu's eyes without hesitation. "It's simple. My quirk, telepathy, allows me to do more than just read thoughts. I can control movements and halt actions if necessary. When the villains arrived, I sensed their malicious intent immediately, even though I was in the Support Department workshop."
"There were well over a hundred, including the one who created the portals. I stopped them all—temporarily, at least. The strain was significant, though."
Nezu's eyes gleamed with curiosity. "Temporarily, you say. You were able to halt the movements of that many individuals at once? Impressive. But what are the limitations of your quirk? What can't you do?"
Izuku took a moment to collect his thoughts. "My quirk doesn't work on robots, machines, or anything without a mind. And controlling so many minds at once over a large distance causes significant mental strain. After the USJ incident, I felt intense dizziness and exhaustion."
Thirteen chimed in, their voice calm and measured. "You managed to stop that many people all at once. Did you experience any damage to yourself? Overusing a quirk like that could be dangerous."
Izuku nodded. "Yes, I felt the effects immediately. I had to be taken to Recovery Girl afterward. She healed me and advised me to be more careful with my quirk. I understand the risks, and I'm working on ways to reduce that strain."
Aizawa remained quiet, though his sharp eyes assessed Izuku with new understanding. "Why didn't you apply for the Hero Course? You clearly have the power to handle real combat situations."
Izuku sat up straighter, his voice calm and direct. "I've always wanted to be a hero, but I knew the entrance exam wouldn't play to my strengths. The test was combat-focused, and my quirk doesn't work on machines. I didn't want to rely on my telepathy to influence others or cheat my way into the Hero Course. That wouldn't make me a real hero."
Toshinori Yagi, though silent for most of the meeting, finally spoke up. "So you chose the Support Course because you believed it would allow you to help others in a different way?"
Izuku nodded. "Yes. I believe I can contribute more by combining my quirk with support equipment. I've been working with Mei Hatsume to design devices that will enhance my telepathy—extend its range, reduce the strain on my mind. I can help from behind the scenes, without directly fighting."
Nezu smiled approvingly. "That's a commendable approach, Midoriya. It shows great foresight. Still, your actions in the USJ incident were nothing short of heroic."
Aizawa, though typically detached, offered a slight nod. "Stopping a large group of villains without direct confrontation? It's an ability that can be a game-changer."
Izuku met Aizawa's gaze. "Thank you, sir. But I also know my limits. Controlling that many villains pushed my quirk beyond what I've trained for. It's something I need to improve."
Nezu tilted his head slightly. "Midoriya, you're an exceptional student, regardless of which course you're in. However, we're offering you the option to transfer to the Hero Course, if you so choose. Your talents are undeniable, and we believe you'd thrive there."
Izuku considered the offer for a moment but remained resolute. "I appreciate the offer, Principal Nezu. But for now, I want to stay in the Support Course. I believe I can make a bigger difference by focusing on developing tools and strategies that complement my quirk."
Nezu smiled, clearly pleased with Izuku's conviction. "Very well, Midoriya. Just know that the offer stands, should you change your mind in the future."
Aizawa leaned forward, his gaze piercing as he asked, "So, Midoriya, what exactly is this device you've been working on?"
Izuku took a deep breath, ready to explain. "The device is designed to amplify my telepathy. It will allow me to extend my range significantly—ideally, I want to be able to sense people from all over the planet without overloading my mind. The idea is to create a sort of network that I can tap into, so I could find anyone, anywhere, as long as they're within that range."
Nezu's ears perked up with interest. "And once the device is perfected, what do you envision happening?"
Izuku smiled, a spark of excitement in his eyes. "With this tool, I could essentially monitor global events and detect threats before they escalate. It would provide invaluable information not only for me but for the heroes as well. Imagine being able to sense danger before it strikes, and pinpointing where help is needed instantly."
Nezu nodded thoughtfully. "That could change the way we approach hero work entirely. But it sounds like a significant undertaking. What about funding? This kind of technology won't be cheap."
"That's true," Izuku replied, his brow furrowing slightly. "I'll need substantial resources to develop it. That's why I'm relying on U.A. to help support the project. We'll need funding for materials and possibly even advanced technology to make it happen."
Aizawa crossed his arms, his expression a mix of intrigue and caution. "If you can pull this off, it will make you incredibly powerful. But what weaknesses does this device have?"
Izuku thought for a moment. "One major weakness is that creating a portable version could be extremely difficult. The technology might require a stable power source and could be bulky. Plus, I theorize that there might eventually be technology designed to block telepathic waves. If a villain or organization feels threatened by my ability to read their thoughts, they could develop countermeasures."
Aizawa nodded, considering the implications. "So, while it gives you an edge, it also creates vulnerabilities. You'd need to be careful about who knows about this technology."
"Exactly," Izuku agreed. "For now, the technology to block telepathy doesn't exist, but it's a valid concern for the future."
Nezu's eyes sparkled with admiration. "You have a keen mind, Midoriya. Your foresight in considering both the advantages and potential pitfalls of your invention is commendable. Keep us updated on your progress. We'll do what we can to support you."
Nezu's ears perked up with curiosity as he asked, "So, Midoriya, what do you plan to name this device?"
Izuku smiled, a spark of excitement lighting up his face. "I was thinking of calling it 'Cerebro'."

After the other teachers left, only Izuku, Nezu, and Toshinori Yagi remained in the room. Izuku stood up, ready to leave, but before exiting, he spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Before I go," Izuku began, "there's something you need to know."
Nezu watched him intently, while Yagi sat quietly, his posture calm but alert.
"The creature with the exposed brain and bird-like beak that attacked USJ yesterday," Izuku continued, "it's called Nomu. I learned this after reading the mind of Shigaraki, the man with the numerous hands on his body and face. And the villain who can open portals, he's called Kurogiri. Kurogiri, from what I could tell, is also a variant of Nomu."
Yagi's expression shifted slightly, but he remained focused on what Izuku was saying.
"Nomu," Izuku explained, "doesn't have a mind of its own anymore. It only follows orders. At that moment, I was able to take control of Nomu's command pathways and make it stop moving."
"And who is controlling Nomu?" Nezu asked, his sharp eyes narrowing as he grasped the importance of this information.
"Nomu was created by someone named All For One," Izuku revealed. "I discovered this after diving into the minds of the villains who attacked USJ. Inside Nomu, I sensed many thoughts—residual traces of consciousness, though they no longer had any awareness."
"Residual?" Yagi echoed in confusion.
"Yes," Izuku nodded. "Those are the remnants from the forced implantation of many quirks into Nomu's body. Kurogiri, too, is an experiment of All For One, but he still retains his consciousness. However, his past is blurry, likely due to some form of memory erasure. I could dig deeper into that if I had a chance to meet Kurogiri in person."
Nezu nodded slowly, processing the valuable information. "Incredible. This is vital intelligence."
Izuku continued, "Unfortunately, I didn't have time to delve deeper into Shigaraki's mind. I had to stop the movements of the hundreds of other villains. Most of them are just ordinary criminals. But one thing is clear: their mission was to kill All Might, and Nomu was specifically created to defeat All Might."
The room fell into a brief silence. All might, still in his Yagi form, looked thoughtful. But before the tension could rise, Izuku spoke again, hesitantly.
"There's one more thing," Izuku said quietly.
Yagi looked at him.
"When I first met you, all might" Izuku explained, "I sensed something strange. I felt eight different consciousnesses inside you. One of them was clearly yours, but the other seven... I didn't recognize them." He hesitated before adding, "I didn't want to intrude on your privacy, but I felt the need to ask. If you don't want to answer, I understand."
Yagi blinked in surprise, realizing that Izuku's mind-reading abilities had revealed more than anticipated. Nezu remained silent but attentive, waiting for Yagi's response.
Izuku continued, "I don't mean to overstep, but for some reason, I couldn't ignore this."
Yagi exhaled slowly. "So, you've heard of All For One..." he muttered, before coming to a decision. After a moment of thought, he chose to be transparent.
"Listen, Midoriya," Yagi began, "what you sensed in me is the trace of a quirk called One For All."
"One For All?" Izuku asked, puzzled.
Yagi nodded. "One For All is a quirk passed down from one person to the next. It's not just raw strength; it carries the memories and experiences of all its previous wielders. You felt the presence of those seven other minds because they are the previous holders of One For All."
Izuku remained silent, processing this new and surprising information.
"And All For One," Yagi continued, his voice quieter, "is the ultimate enemy of One For All. He has the power to steal quirks and give them to others. He created Nomu, and for centuries, he has been trying to destroy One For All."
Nezu, who had been quietly observing, then added, "What All Might means is that you're now involved in something far bigger than you may have anticipated, Midoriya."
Izuku nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of what he had just learned.
"I understand," Izuku finally replied. "Thank you for explaining, All Might."
Yagi gave a tired smile. "You're remarkable, Midoriya. Having the ability to read minds yet still respecting the boundaries of others shows your integrity. That's not easy."
Izuku gave a small smile in return before standing up and preparing to leave. Before he fully exited the room, Nezu spoke up.
"Cerebro, was it?" Nezu said, referring to Izuku's earlier project. "It seems your creation may be more important than we first thought. U.A. will support you fully."
Izuku nodded in gratitude before stepping out, carrying with him the heavy burden of the new information he had learned.
