Chapter 10: Day 2: Gems of all Kinds

Back at a nearby beach-side cafe near the left side of the island, Christian and Sly were chatting were enjoying some Pineapple fruit drinks served inside of pineapple cups near that day. After the duel ended, Christian was challenged and about 30 minutes into the duel, Christian's Ocean army flattened the deck very quickly and they were now resting.
Sly sighed and replied, "These are so amazing. I'm glad we stopped here."
Christian nodded and resumed, "Me as well. What a duel that was. I'm glad that some kind of Dark Warrior deck was no match for my deck."
"Your deck is supwer poweful."
He opened his Extra Deck and it now had a few Fusions now and then Sly smiled and replied, "Your deck is so ready for anything, my buddy. Did Anna like your deck choice?"
He nodded as he placed the cards back into his deck and then replied, "Before we met, she was one of the top-rated tattoo artists to come out of Seattle and she has a decent Amazoness Deck as well."
Sly nodded and replied, "I remember that all too well, Christian. She has serious talent as a artist and she still is?"
"Darn she is. I Didn't meant to say she was, because she still is and loves her job as one as well. She does it during the day and earns her own money as well. If she needs anything, my mom and dad are allowing me to give a little bit to help her through any toughness she can't handle on her own."
"That's so cool. Too bad it didn't work out for you and JinLee. You really liked her and you thought she did as well."
Christian sighed and repleid, "She only wanted me because of only my wealth, buddy. I wish it honestly did work for us, but you found she was a two-timer and now I have Anna instead and she's so much better then her."
"That is a good thing to be honest, Christian. The new friends of yours seem really nice."
Christian nodded as he took a sip of his drink and resumed, "I'm glad they consider me a friend for who I am and not for my money. They are awesome duelists and I want to meet one of them in the finals. They'll be a tough fight for me, but I can beat any of them I think."
"You should be fine. Shouldn't you get ready for the dinner tonight?"
He checked his watch and he nodded and resumed, "Thanks, buddy. I'll see you later."
He nodded and got up and left and Sly continued to enjoy his drink and he didn't know it, but someone wearing a white mask and gown was watching him from far away very closely and the duelist had 4 star chips in her gauntlet and then it got up and left as well.

Later that day at a burger shop, the ladies were finishing their drinks they bought.
Maddie nodded and replied, "That was such a refreshing drink. Glad I was able to enjoy it well."
Her friends nodded and they saw someone that looked like a tall thin lady with blonde hair and glasses and she wore a white white shirt that showed off her purple bra straps and and she wore blue jean shorts with a belt in them and Andrea saw her and replied, "Either know anything about her."
Ashlee saw her and she sighed replied, "I know something. That's Evelyn Richardson and she likes to be called Eve and she's been my dueling rival ever since high school. I wonder if she still has that amazing deck."
Andrea then replied, "I looked up her dueling profile before this tournament began and her deck is really powerful. You have a decent chance at beating hier, girl."
Ashlee nodded and resumed, "I think I want to take try to take her out."
She got up and waived at her and the she smiled and saw her rival and then replied, "Bailey, we finally meet at last. It's been a while since our graduation. How've you been?"
"Really good. I'm still single and looking for the right guy."
"Glad to hear it. I'm still single to this day and I was invited to this tournament as well. Watcha need?"
She pointed to her glove and resumed, "How many chips do you have?"
She showed her guantlet was half full and she replied, "I have 5 and you?"
"I have 4 to my name and I bet one star chip."
She nodded and resumed, "I accept and when I beat you, I'll be 4 stars away from entering the finals!"
She nodded and they stood across from each other and activated their duel disks and then Kara nodded and replied, "This'll be a intresting duel to say at least."
Both duelists activated their duel dsks and both drew 5 cards and Eve smiled and replied, "Ready for the toughest duel yet?"
"It was about to ask you the same thing, girl."
"Game on!", both yelled out.

Eve smiled and replied, "Since I won our last match, go ahead and start us off."
Bailey nodded as she looked at her and she nodded and resumed, "I'll set a monster and a card facedown and that's all for me."
Eve drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Gem-Armadillo."
She played the card and a rocky armadillo with a glittery shell appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"I now get any Gem-Knight monster from my deck now."
She took a card from her deck and she sighed and replied, "Your still using that Gem-Knight deck I see."
"Darn right. Attack her facedown monster with Gem Shell Roller!"
The rocky monsters turned into a large sparkly ball and quickly rushed in and a Flamvell Archer appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and the rocky creature slammed into and blew it to pieces.
"I see now. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Magmoor the Lava Serpent."
She played the card and the fiery lava dragon appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Destroy that thing."
It glowed as a burst of flames shot out and it struck it and blew it into small pieces of rock (Eve LP: 8000 - 7900) and then a small burst of flames struck her down (Eve LP: 7900 - 7500).
"Your turn now, Eve."
Eve drew a card and she nodded and resumed, "Decent fire monster for you, girl. I'll set a monster and that's all for me."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll summon my Fire King Avatar Barong."
She played the card and a bladed arm fiery creature appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Let's see what your hiding. Attack her facedown monster!"
The Beast charged in and a Gem-Turtle appeared on the card (DEF: 2,000) and her knight struck it with its blades and it did nothing to its rocky shell (Ashlee LP: 8000 - 7800) and Eve smiled and replied, "This way again, I see."
She grabbed a card from her deck.
"Damn that was foolish of me. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I activate Gem Mining first."
The spell appeared.
"Now, Gem-Knight Fusion and I'm fusing my Gem-Knight Emerald with the Gem-Turtle from my field!"
The beautiful spell appeared and the rocky knight appeared and merged together with the turtle and then a A large rocky warrior covered with various sizes of colorful gems with a sword made of various gems appeared (ATK: 2,300).
"Meet the mighty Gem-Knight Marcasite!"
Bailey saw the fusion and she moaned and replied, "He we go again. "
"Since I fusion Summon a Gem-Knight monster, My Spell gains a Gem Counter."
a large colorful gemstone flew into the spell (Gem Counters: 0 - 1).
"I now attack your Barong. Destroy it with your Maracasite Gem Slash!"
The rocky knight went in and slashed at the creature and it moaned as it collapsed to its knees and dissolved in a fiery cloud of smoke (Bailey LP: 7800 - 7300).
"That will end my turn for now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Knight to defense and then I'll set a monster facedown and a card facedown and that's my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Gem-Knight Garnet."
She played the card and the fiery gem warrior appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I use my Marcasite's effect, I Can discard a Gem-Knight to destroy your facedown card on the left!"
She took a Gem-Knight Sapphire and the Knight swung its sword and a burst of small white shards shot out and struck, slamming into her left side facedown card and it was a card called Backfire and it broke apart into small shards that dissolved as they struck the ground.
"Garnet attacks first."
He quickly went in and punched at her fiery serpent and blew her to shards.
"My Fusion attacks now."
It quickly went and her Greed Jar appeared (DEF: 700) and slashed through it and it broke apart into small pieces of rock and then she took the top cards and she nodded and added one and discarded the other one and she opened her Extra Deck slot and took a card and discarded it.
"I see you added some more tricks to your fire deck, girl Your move now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll banish a fire monster to summon my Inferno."
She took a Magmoor and banished it as the fiery Pyro appeared (ATK: 1,100) and she grabbed another one and then resumed, "I now summon my Neo Flamvell Origin."
She played the card and a small Pyro with a blue-flamed head appeared (ATK: 500).
"I tune my monsters together."
The tiny fire creature glowed as it split into 2 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through her Inferno, which turned into 4 white stars (*2 *4 = *6).
"A fiery knight formed in the largest volcano on the planet appears with a blade made of hardened and cooled magma that slice through anything! It'll burn up anything in its path! Synchro Summon! Appear from the hot flames, Nebuflare The Volcanic Knight!"
She played the card as a fiery knight wearing bright red and orange armor with a sword made of cooled lava with a rocky-like handle appeared (ATK: 2,500).
"When it destroys a monster, you get hit with 500 damage! Destroy her Maracasite!"
He quickly rushed and slashed through the rocky warrior and cracks formed all over it before it broke apart into small pieces of rock and dust (Eve LP: 7600 - 7400) and then a fiery bolt of energy shot out and struck her down (Eve LP: 7400 - 6900) and Kara nodded and resumed, "She's doing pretty good so far."
There you go. I end my turn now."
Eve drew a card and resumed, "Your a clever one, my friend. I play Silent Doom first."
Gem-Knight Sapphire reappeared and knelt (DEF: 2,100).
"I'll switch Garnet to defense and I'll set a card and that's all for now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Evocator Chevalier."
She played the card and a fiery Warrior appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"Destroy his Garnet!"
It quickly rushed at and slashed at with her sword, smashing it to pieces.
"Swordsman, attack!"
It quickly rushed in and swung his sword and struck down his Sapphire and smashed it to pieces and another fiery bolt struck her (Eve LP: 6900 - 6400).
"Your move now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'm going to love this next move. I activate Dark Factory of Mass Production."
She grabbed Garnet and Sapphire and resumed, "I now banish my Emerald to bring back my Gem-Knight Fusion."
She banished the card and brought her Fusion back to her hand.
"I now replay the Gem-Knight Fusion and fuse my monsters together."
The spell appeared and the two rocky knights merged together and made a even larger rocky monster with larger rocky fists (ATK: 2,900) and another counter flew into the Spell (Gem Counters: 1 - 2).
"Meet the mighty Gem-Knight Zirconia!"
Ashlee saw the giant knight and she moaned and replied, "That's going to hurt."
"I now activate my facedown Gem-Knight Shine."
The card appeared.
"I target 1 monster you control and 1 Gem-Knight Fusion I control and your monster loses 100 attack for each of my monsters level."
Her Synchro glowed (ATK: 2,500 - 1,700).
"Attack her Synchro!"
It quickly rushed and smashed its fist into her Pyro and it burst into fiery embers & ash (Ashlee LP: 7300 - 6100).
"That'll end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Chevalier to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for me."
Eve drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Spellbook Inside the Pot."
The Spell appeared and both drew 3 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and I summon my Gem-Knight Opal."
She played the card and a rocky knight made of small blue opal stones and with a spear made of sharpened opals as well (ATK: 1,800).
"Zirconia attacks!"
It quick and slammed its fist and blew her Gemini to little pieces.
"I attack your facedown monster now."
The knight went in and a UFO Turtle appeared on the card (DEF: 1,100) and it stabbed at it with its spear and blew it little pieces and then a 2nd Turtle appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"I end my turn now."
Bailey drew a new card and resumed, "I tribute my turtle for my Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch!"
The turtle shattered to bits as the fiery ruler appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"Discard the card on your far right!"
She sighed and discarded it and it was a Gem-Knight Crystal and then a small burst of flames shot and struck her down (Eve LP: 6400 - 5700).
"I'll banish my Volcarena the Lava Beast to give my monster 1000 more power!"
She banished the card and her monster glowed (ATK: 2,400 - 3,400).
"Destroy her monster!"
The Pyro glowed as a huge shower flames rained and blasted her Zirconia into dust (Eve LP: 5700 - 5200).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch Opal to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that'll end my turn now.
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Blazing Inpachi."
She played the card and the fiery Pyro appeared (ATK: 1,850).
"Lets do this. My stronger samurai goes first."
It quickly rushed and swung his sword and blew her Opal to little pieces of blue rock.
"My Inpachi attacks now!"
It quickly went in and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and it threw a fire punch and blew it to pieces and she discarded a Charcoal Inpachi and she discarded a Gem-Elephant and another card and both drew 5 cards and she resumed, "That's all for me."
She drew a card and resumed, "I now activate my Gem-Knight Fusion and I'll send my Gem-Knight Lapis and my Gem-Knight Crystal from my hand away to Fusion Summon my Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli!"
The two rock monsters appeared and merged together as a beautiful statue of a robed rocky woman appeared (ATK: 2,400) and a 3rd counter flew into the spell (Gem Counters: 2 - 3) and Bailey groaned as she saw the monster and resumed, "I have bad memories of you using that card against me."
"I defeated you last time with this girl as well. I use her effect. I send a Gem-Knight from my deck or Extra Deck and then you take 500 damage for each Special Summoned monster I control."
She took a Gem-Knight Topaz from her Extra Deck and discarded it as small glowing shards of sharpened rock appeared and they flew in and struck her down (Ashlee LP: 5900 - 5400).
"I now use the effect of the Gem-Knight Luster card I discarded with my Jar. I banish it and another Gem-Knight and then one of your monsters loses ATK equal to the ATK Of the banished monster."
She banished it and Lapis and the dragon roared as small shards of rock rained down on her monarch (ATK: 1,850 - 650).
"Lady Lapis attacks now."
She glowed as a burst of small white shards shot out and struck down her Inpachi and blew to little pieces and some of the shards struck her as well (Bailey LP: 5400 - 3750).
Ashlee drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Monarch to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and set 2 cards facedown and that's my turn now."
She drew a card and Ashlee quickly replied, "I activate my Breakthrough Skill on your monster!"
The trap appeared and the Fusion glowed.
"Smart one. I'll summon my Gem-Knight Alexandrite."
She played the card and the rocky knight with a glowing body appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Lets do this. Lapis lazuli, attack!"
She glowed glow as more shards shot out and they struck down her Monarch and blew him to shards and she smiled and resumed, "Before he reaches the graveyard, I'll discard my D.D. Crow."
He discarded the card and it flew into and struck the card and both vanished in a cloud of smoke.
"Alexandrite, your turn."
It charged in and a Great Angus appeared (DEF: 600) and he pumched at the Beast and blew it to little triangles.
"I'll set a card and its your move again."
She drew a card and resumed, "I banish a fire monster to Summon my Spirit of Flames."
She took her Great Angus and banished as her fiery demon-like Pyro appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"I tribute it for my Skeleblazer."
She played the card and a large orange & red skeleton and the body was covered in hot red flames appeared (ATK: 2,200).
"I now play Blustering Winds on it as well."
The Pyro glowed (ATK: 2,200 - 3,200) as a large burst of flames shot out and struck down her Fusion and cracks formed all over it before she exploded into small rocky shards that rained down on the field in a shower of dust (Eve LP: 5200 - 4400) and she smiled and resumed, "You now take 100 damage for each fire monster in my graveyard now when it destroys a monster."
A small burst of 10 fire balls shot out and struck her down (Eve LP: 4400 - 3400).
"Your turn now."
The glowing stopped (ATK: 3,200 - 2,200) and Eve drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my monster to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for me."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my other Magmoor."
She played the card and the lava serpent appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"My giant friends attacks."
It glowed as a huge burst of flames shot out and Alexandrite was blasted into dust and then more flames hit her (Eve LP: 3400 - 3000).
"My other monster attacks."
It glowed as a small burst of flames shot out and a Gem-Knight Sardonyx appeared (DEF: 900) as the fiery blaze blasted it to dust and more of the flames hit her (Eve LP: 3000 - 2600).
"I end my turn now."
There you go, Eve. I end my turn now."
Eve drew a card and resumed, "I use the effect of my Gem Mining. I can send it away and another Gem-Knight from my hand to draw a card for each counter it had."
She discarded another Emerald and drew 3 cards as the Spell faded away and she resumed, "I'll activate my Needlebug's Nest."
Her facedown card lifted up and she took the top 5 cards of her deck (Which were a 2nd Garnet, a 2nd Gem-Knight Crystal, a Pot of Extravagance, a Gem-Knight Obsidian and a Gem-Elephant) and discarded them and she nodded and resumed, "It was good to duel you again, but I'm about to end this. I activate my Absorb Fusion."
The spell appeared.
"I can first grab a Gem-Knight from my deck."
She grabbed a 2nd Opal and resumed, "Next, I can banish Gem-Knight monsters from my field or hand to summon that one and I'm banishng my Opal, Gem-Knight Tourmaline and a Gem-Knight Lazuli to summon one of the Strongest Gem-Knight monsters I control."
She banished the 3 cards and then a huge rocky monster appeared and it swung its sword around (ATK: 2,500).
"Meet the mighty and powerful Gem-Knight Master Diamond."
Ashlee saw the monster and she moaned and replied, "Anything but that one."
"Afraid so, girl. It gains 100 attack for each Gem-Knight in my graveyard and there are 18 of them."
The sword of the knight glowed even more (ATK: 2,900 - 4,700).
"I use its strongest ability. I banish a Level 7 or lower Gem-Knight fusion monster from my graveyard and it gains its effect and I'll banish Topaz."
She took the card and banished and small pieces of topaz covered the huge sword (ATK: 4,700 - 4,600) and Bailey sighed and replied, "You win again, Eve."
"It was a great duel. I Attack your huge Warrior for the game."
He went and swung its weapon and smashed her Skeleblazer to pieces (Ashlee LP: 3800 - 1400) and then a huge burst of topaz-like shards shot out and struck her down (Ashlee LP: 1400 - 0) and Maddie then replied, "No way."
Andrea sighed and replied, "She did the best she could in that duel."
Maddie nodded and she walked over to Eve and handed her a star chip and Eve smiled and replied, "Don't lose hope with your Fire deck, girl. If we manage to meet in the finals, it'll be a great duel."
She smiled and they both shook hands and then Eve resumed, "Good to see you again and peace out, girl."
She nodded as her dueling rival walked away and the girls walked up to her and she sighed and resumed, "I need some time to myself. I'll meet you both later tonight for dinner and will meet with you all in the coffee shop."
The ladies nodded as she walked away as well and Andrea sighed and replied, "She did her best she could. If they duel again, they'll have a better match and she will win."
Maddie nodded and resumed, "Well said. You want get a drink before we get ready for tonight?"
She nodded and they left as well.

You can discard 1 "Gem-Knight" monster and then target 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls, destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Gem-Knight Marcasite" once per turn. When this cards attacks, your opponent cannot activate facedown cards.

Gem Mining / Continuous Spell Card

When you Fusion Summon a "Gem-Knight" monster, Place 1 Gem Counter on this card (Max: 3). During your Main Phase 1, send this card to the GY and tribute 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your side of the field; draw 1 card for every counter that was on this card.
Gem-Knight Luster / Normal Trap Card

You can only use this effect of "Gem-Knight Shine" once per turn. You can only activate 1 "Gem-Knight Shine" per turn.

Bailey: That was one of the toughest losses I ever had to endure, but I refuse to give up and I'll keep going on. Next time, we have our dinner and Christian gives us a map to a Eliminator lair as well! That next day, We head to the lair and I ask to do the duel myself and I'm in for a tough fight.
