Story Start!

7 days was a lot of time.

It wasn't as stressful when you got confirmation that backup was on the way though, so Xenovia and Irina were able to relax and not stress out over the fight with Kokabiel. All they had to do was maintain the illusion that they were training to get stronger, on the off chance that one of Kokabiel's minions were spying on them.

"I'm not helping either of you train. Just because I'm an Uzumaki, doesn't mean I care about fighting or growing stronger... now shoo, off with you two." Naruto waved off the requests to spar. He had less than zero interest in sparring or growing stronger, and most of his attempts to master his powers were purely for Himari's sake so that he could give her peace of mind.

"Oh come on, you don't get a physique like that without training. Instead of using swords, we can just use sticks, and you can increase their durability." Xenovia had seen him naked, and she knew firsthand that he had a very trained body. He maintained a perfect balance of fat and muscle, and his muscle definition was not to be understated. His shoulders and chest muscles were extremely well developed.

"Himari..."

"I have no interest in training with her." Himari was stronger than either Xenovia or Irina, even when they were being enhanced by Naruto's power. That was the power of her Bakeneko blood, and her years of harsh training to not have to rely on the power in her blood. She was faster than Irina, and stronger than Xenovia. She preferred her katana, but she could easily wield a sword as large as Xenovia's one handed as if it were a katana. She was a master of dozens of types of weapons, even though she had a strong preference to the sword. "... I think it would be a good idea, what say you mizuchi?" Himari asked the spying Shizuku.

Shizuku nodded her head.

"It couldn't hurt you know."

"Yeah, it could, me... I'm not fighting her, even as a spar. Listen, my 'training' in recent years just came from me running away from yokai." Naruto deadpanned, sorry to disappoint her, but he wasn't the direct combat type. He was the type to trick people.

"Very well, how about this. Irina and I will chase you, and if you can escape us for 8 hours, then you win the spar?" Xenovia offered and locked eyes with her partner. Irina looked excited.

"It will be lots of fun, like a game of tag!"

Naruto sighed.

"Fine, a game of tag isn't fighting, so I guess it would be fine." Naruto agreed.

"Actually, I believe a spar would be the best choice here. If Kokabiel attacks before your reinforcements arrive, then you would all be in a sorry state." Konan materialized in paper, her body folding into a human shape. She appeared behind Naruto, and nobody on the yokai side of things reacted much. This was Xenovia and Irina's first time seeing her, so they reacted with their swords raised for a moment. "... and I believe that I found the answer to your inability to use your wind power properly."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, and he wasn't the only one, Shizuku was alarmed, with Himari smiling.

"Oh ho, I knew you could be counted on Konan. Very well, I fully offer my support where it is needed. Young Master, why don't you allow Konan to help you?" Himari asked.

It was hard to say no to her.

"What do I have to do?" Naruto questioned. "... you bitch." Naruto grunted when Konan put her fist between his lungs and stomach, knocking the wind out of him with a sucker punch, and boy did it pack a punch. He dropped to his knees and barely remained conscious, before Konan slapped a piece of paper on his cheek that glowed... and then knocked him out cold as the sealing technique on the paper took effect.

Konan caught him before his face could hit the ground.

"Good, he's out. Now we can start the process. Since his heart is too kind to hurt somebody, we should test if hypnotism can help him out." Konan gently laid his head down on her lap. She had been researching the Uzumaki ruins, and she had visited Kyoto to pick up some hypnotism charms. Very powerful ones that could work even on a supernatural being.

"What did she say?" Xenovia whispered.

"Something about hypnotism and Naruto having a kind heart, I feel like I'm missing some very important context though." Irina understood the words, but not the history behind them. She just watched as Konan started to activate magic. The magic circle floated in front of Naruto's face.

"Youjutsu." Shizuku raised an eyebrow.

"Powerful suppression, with this, I can trigger a spell that can suppress the kindness in Naruto's heart. Since his kindness overpowers his violent urges, hopefully this will let him use his wind powers." Konan could see this being the key. "Now, Lord Naruto, when you here this phrase... the kindness in your heart will be suppressed." Konan leaned down and whispered the phrase into his ear.

Himari's cat ears heard the phrase.

She raised her brows up.

"Now, just to be certain this won't backfire. How is the hypnotism undone?"

"Simple, all you need to do is inflict any pain on him, and the hypnotism will be undone until the next time he hears the special phrase. He won't remember what he did while hypnotized... I figured it would be better for him." Konan couldn't imagine that Naruto would be fond of himself, a version of himself with suppressed kindness. He was a overflowingly kind boy, so with all that kindness put down, it was hard to say what he would be like.

Naruto groaned and woke up.

"You didn't need to punch me." Naruto rubbed his stomach as he stood back up. He looked at Konan with displeasure.

"Woah... his pupils..." Irina whispered when she saw his eyes.

His pupils were thin slits, like an animal.

"Are you in the mood to spar-" Xenovia raised her sword up with a brief smile.

It was brief, because Naruto raised his hand up and she was blasted away by wind. She went flying, her sword being her defense that prevented her from being destroyed by the wind pressure. Irina was blasted away by the shockwave, but didn't take a direct hit from it.

"Yeah, that felt good." Naruto was flexing his fingers.

"Oh no, this is not good." Himari pulled her sword out and charged Naruto at full speed. She flipped her sword to hit him with the blunt side. She was stopped when the air around her body thickened until it felt like she was moving through concrete. Her body froze in place, and she was shaking with the effort it took to move forward. 'Can't breath either.' Himari tried to breath.

The air inside of her lungs refused to move.

The air outside of her lungs refused to move too.

Her lungs couldn't expand or contract, because the air inside of them and outside of them refused to move from where it was. She was frozen in place and unable to breath. Naruto was too busy studying his own powers and how easy it was to use now. She looked towards Konan and Shizuku, both who were in similar situations to herself.

They found themselves able to move again.

"Right, I guess killing my allies is a dumb move. I might need you three in the future." Naruto allowed them to breath, but not move. The air was freed up inside of their lungs, but that was about as far as they were able to resist his will over the air. Naruto flicked his fingers towards Irina, who had been frozen in mid-air, and she was drawn towards him. "Hmmmmm... you're not bad to look at, so I guess-" Naruto raised his hand and stopped a surprise attack from Xenovia.

She was locked in place as the air around her solidied into a hand that held her in place.

Irina transformed her sword to make it inflict a scratch on Naruto, just to wake him up from his hypnosis. It didn't work though, because he stepped out of the way.

"That was an attack, a legit attack meant to hurt me. Hmmmmm, maybe I should just kill you... I could fill your lungs with air until they explode." Naruto spoke, and the wind acted according to his whim. Irina felt her chest getting filled with air against her will, and it was painful. He stopped after a moment though. "No, I think that is too quick. If I have an enemy, they should suffer before they die. It's not fair if I kill people, and they can't fight back." Naruto spoke as he waved off Irina and Xenovia's attempts at an attack.

Everyone found that they were able to move again.

Naruto condensed he air in front of him, and experimented with it while ignoring all of them. He hummed in amusement as he created a ball of plasma out of the condensed air, and then he condensed it further until those around him started to get burns from just being within 20 feet of he ball.

'... This was a bad idea... Kindness was what made Naruto into a good person, and without his kindness, all that is left are the parts of him that are buried beneath his goodness.' Shizuku felt the water in her body starting to boil, since she was mostly made of water. The others started to get burns across their bodies, and they were forced to retreat to a safe distance.

Naruto didn't consider any of them threatening enough to pay attention to. He had already established that killing them could be done at any moment he wished. He just didn't wish to kill any of them, because it didn't benefit him to do that. He proved a point with Irina, to prevent them from attacking him.

'Even now, he isn't seeking out violence... he just isn't opposed to killing. I expected him to murder the mizuchi, because she attacked him once. He isn't showing aggression to her... even without his kindness, he isn't just some murderer without reason.' Konan looked at Naruto.

"Just because I don't have kindness, doesn't make me evil. I'm not going to kill somebody who doesn't want to kill me first... it's a waste of my time. Well, I guess killing you would be worth my time. It's your fault Nagato died, since you were too weak to protect him. As his Guardian Yokai, you should be punished for his death." Naruto stated as he pointed his finger at Konan. He could practically sense what she was thinking.

'Nope, dangerous! Without kindness, even the slightest reason to kill somebody is good enough for him! He might not be actively seeking reasons to kill somebody, but even the smallest reason is enough for him to act on it!' Himari was alarmed when Naruto shot Konan through the chest with a blade of wind.

She turned into origami and avoided getting injured by the wind blade, but a good chunk of her body was destroyed. When she reformed herself, she would have to reform in a smaller body to compensate for the amount of herself that got destroyed. That, or she would have to add more paper to her body to replace what was lost when she took a human form again.

"Lord Naruto, this was a mistake, please go back to your kind self!" Konan pleaded with him.

"Himari." Naruto looked at his guardian.

She nodded and approached him, standing at his side.

"I stand with the Young Master, be he hypnotized or in his right mind." Himari stood by his side and draw her sword towards Konan. She wrapped one of her arms around Naruto to show how close she was to him.

"Good, I knew I could count on you-" Naruto was knocked out by a painful blow to his forehead by the back of Himari's sword.

Himari sighed.

"I stand with the Young Master, and I know he would wish to be woken up." Himari sheathed her sword now that Naruto was knocked out. Naruto without his ability to use his wind powers would never have been knocked out by that. He would have been far more aware of her intentions to knock him out, because his kindness was always trying to figure out a peaceful way to end conflict. It also meant that he was constantly thinking of escape plans.

His kindness was a nerf to his combat power, but it was a huge buff to his ability to analyze his surroundings.

"So, we couldn't do anything in a spar. That is disappointing." Xenovia sighed and promised herself that she would train 10 times harder to close the gap.

"Konan, seek out a way to undo your hypnotism. We can't have somebody accidentally saying the key phrase and activating this side of him." Himari took command of the situation and gave out an order to the older yokai.

"I'll head back to Kyoto and see if my contact is still there." Konan flew off as a bunch of origami birds.

This was a mistake on her part.

No wonder Nagato never tried hypnotism with Naruto before now.
