Jinx was peacefully sleeping when the ground shook. He snapped awake and Tried to fly, but his fluffy wings were too dense even to lift him off the ground. He instead started running. He rushed out of the manor into the town, his tiny padded paws barely making contact with the ground. But eventually, he grew too tired to run anymore.
Jinx was in the town square, collapsing onto the ground. His body was hot from the sun. Susan was the one who found him.
Susan cooed, "Aw, poor little kitty. You need some help."
She scooped him up and very gently carried him away. Jinx fell asleep in her arms as they traveled. Susan came to her house. She shooed off her two dozen cats from the door. She then very gently placed Jinx on a bed on the counter of her kitchen. She then filled a little bowl with water and gently woke up Jinx. Jinx gratefully drank the water.
Susan asked, "Were you trying to run yourself to death?"
Jinx whimpered.
Susan said, "Aw, don't be hard on yourself. Endurance is hard for everyone, honey. Rest for a while here. Then the Mystery Shack should go right through the woods across the way."
Jinx cocked his head.
Susan pulled out her phone. She showed Jinx a string of texts from Stanley.
Susan explained, "Stan-bear likes to keep me in the loop."
Jinx purred gratefully for Susan's kindness. She put away her phone and gently patted Jinx.
Susan said, "You're welcome little guy.
After a quick nap, Jinx walked his way through the forest, wiggling around the underbrush, and stopped when he spotted Bubbly sitting on the ground, dragging his fingers across the dirt. He seemed to be drawing the alchemist symbol for Neptune, water, a trident, and, for some reason, a regular peace sign.
Jinx cautiously approached Bubbly.
