Six days have passed since the Lich King had contacted his lieutenants and assigned them upon a mission of war. The Death Knight Baron Rivendare and his undead army, coming from Stratholme, made their march on the outskirts of Hearthglen. On the recent weeks, a group of rebellious undead warriors of the Forsaken have been sighted in the ruined village. With the presence of the renegade undead forces of Sylvanas upon such near proximity of Stratholme, Baron senses that the Forsaken are attempting to extend their hold over the outlying ruined villages around Lordaeron. Given their task of defeating Sylvanas and her Forsaken, Baron intends to eliminate the recently arrived forces of Forsaken in Hearthglen before they could gain control over other outlying villages in Lordaeron.

Necromancer: "Lord Titus, our scouts informed us that Sylvanas had sent her minions to take over the town of Hearthglen and all the other neighboring plagued farming ranches on this region. With it, the Forsaken now control most of the Plaguelands. They pose a huge threat to our stronghold in Stratholme. With their forces growing stronger, they could launch a full assault against us, master."

Titus: "I shall not let such happen! King Arthas commanded us to deal with Sylvanas and her rebel fools, and I will do so by crushing every trace of their presence in this region! Hearthglen rightfully belong to the Scourge, and so is the rest of these Plaguelands and the Capital City of Lordaeron. It shall be we who gets to claim and rule this land, and we shall do so in the honor of the Lich King!"

Necromancer: "Of course, Lord Titus. We must seek and destroy the Forsaken forces on this place, and prevent them from taking over the whole Plaguelands. Though we must be cautious, our scouts also told us that the Forsaken are not the only foes we have here. It seems there are some remaining renegade demons that also roam somewhere around here. They too pose a threat to us, Lord Titus."

Titus: "So, there are still some surviving demons roaming around Lordaeron? Those paltry demons are nothing more, but a bunch of hapless leftovers of the Legion in this land. No matter. They shall be dealt with along with the Forsaken. The Legion had been defeated in this world a long time ago. The Legion no longer have hold over the Scourge, and they shall never again! It is time that we do our tasks! We will show both the demons and the Forsaken rebels who truly own the Plaguelands!"

Titus assembles his undead army on his newly formed base located in the southwestern part of the region, which also used to be the same site of one of the two undead camps that first fought against Arthas in Hearthglen long ago when he was still a noble prince and paladin. After mustering a full army of ghouls and several necromancers, Baron Rivendare leads his army to move out of his base and search of their foes around the region. Marching through the western road and heading towards the northern areas, the forces of the Scourge led by Titus encountered scattered groups of Forsaken undead warriors on the surrounding ruined plagued ranches. The Forsaken troops consist of ghouls, zombies, and skeleton warriors. Titus and his forces had also discovered the rumored demons that roam in the region as they found several hellhounds in the plagued grain ranches. In a rather strange twist, the demons are standing and fighting alongside the Forsaken warriors as allies. Titus became surprised as he had expected the demons to be an enemy to the Forsaken as much as to the Scourge.

Titus: "We have finally found the foolish Forsaken rebels, my warriors! And look with them, there are the demons our scouts have reported as well! Convenient! Our two enemies in the same place!"

Necromancer: "Lord Titus, it appears that those lost demons are working alongside the Forsaken."

Titus: "Yes, it is quite strange even for those Forsaken. Even with the Legion defeated, the demons still seek to regain control and dominance over all undead that were raised by the Lich King, which even includes Sylvanas and her followers. It seems that the rebels found a way to lure those leftover demons to willfully join their side. No matter! We shall use this petty little unity of our foes to our advantage as we go to crush them altogether! They shall not win against the might of the Scourge!"

The undead army led by Baron Rivendare fought and defeated every group of Forsaken and demon that they encounter on each ruined plagued grain ranch. The Scourge forces have also encountered some wild hostile creatures such as murlocs and gnolls upon different secluded areas of the region. Titus and his forces eventually reach a small Forsaken outpost located not far from Hearthglen and is the same site of the second former undead camp that first fought against Arthas a long time ago when he was once a great hero of the Alliance. The outpost is being defended by a group of undead Forsaken troops and two mighty infernal demons. Wasting no time, Titus led his undead forces to launch an assault against the Forsaken outpost. After a little while of fierce battle, the forces of the Scourge were able to defeat the enemy undead and demons, and raze the outpost whilst losing few numbers of warriors. After destroying the outpost, Titus rallies his undead forces and heads for the southeastern route in which after a short march, they finally reached the ruined town of Hearthglen.

Titus: "We arrived in Hearthglen at last! The Forsaken and the demons have completely taken over it. Come and let us crush these fools! We shall claim this village for ourselves! None shall survive!"

The town of Hearthglen was once an Alliance bastion that Arthas protected from the Scourge while he waited for the reinforcements of by Uther and Jaina. Hearthglen, like so many other major cities in Lordaeron, is now nothing more, but a dark ruined city filled only with death and shadow. From the ashes of the former town of humanity, the Forsaken established a new fortified undead base in Hearthglen. The base is being defended by undead Forsaken troops and few powerful doomguards. Baron Rivendare rallies his undead army and readies them for their upcoming attack in Hearthglen. Wasting no time, Titus leads his warriors in launching their attack against the enemy undead camp.

A vicious war battle occurs in Hearthglen between the Scourge army and the conjoint forces of the Forsaken and the demons. Being a follower of Arthas as a mighty death knight and commander of the Scourge, Baron Rivendare uses his dark powers in battle by casting Death Coil spells to unleash dark magical bolts of death that heals up his own undead troops, but could not harm enemy undead and demons. Titus also exudes a dark supportive, raging battle aura called the Unholy Aura, which makes him and his warriors around to move and regenerate life faster. After a while of fierce battle, Titus and his army have defeated the conjoined forces of the Forsaken and the demons while losing only light numbers of warriors. The undead Forsaken camp in Hearthglen was razed down to ruins. The Scourge succeed in defeating the Forsaken and the demons on the entire region of Hearthglen. As Baron Rivendare gloats over his victory, Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot suddenly arrived at the scene.

Titus: "Victory belongs to us! We have rid the rebellious minions of Sylvanas out from the region!"

Kel'Thuzad: "You did well, Baron Titus. This victory is a good start in our fight against Sylvanas."

Titus: "Kel'Thuzad. I have expected your arrival, lich, and I see you brought your mighty creation, the Flesh Beast, which you called. I suppose things will become more interesting now that you are here to join in the fight. Though I must tell you, Sylvanas and her rebels are not our only foes here. Apparently, there are some leftover demons of the Legion that are strangely fighting alongside the Forsaken. I wonder what benefit would the hapless demons even gain on siding with the Forsaken."

Kel'Thuzad: "Do not be surprised to see those remaining demons joining forces with the Forsaken, death knight. Among the three dreadlords of Archimonde that Sylvanas defeated, she actually was able to make one of them to be her own servant, the dreadlord Varimathras. He sided with Sylvanas and betrayed his own kin by helping her defeat them and take over Lordaeron. Those demons that you encountered here were likely lured by the Forsaken in siding with them through Varimathras."

Titus: "Impressive, I must say! Sylvanas is stronger and more cunning than I thought. I do see now why she proved to be a great trouble even for King Arthas when he led the Scourge to invade their own kingdom of Quel'thalas, and why the great king raised her as a banshee of the Scourge instead of just permanently killing her. Even more impressive when you told me that she was able to corner King Arthas in the Tirisfal Glades and almost had him dead had you not shown up in time to rescue him. If she managed to assassinate the king then, none of us would probably still be existing today."

Kel'Thuzad: "Exactly. Sylvanas is a formidable foe. Her forces are strong and vast. She commands more than just the undead rebels. There is a reason why our master wanted us all together when it comes to dealing with her. Facing Sylvanas and her demon servant, Varimathras, will not be easy."

Titus: "Perhaps, but nothing is invincible, lich! As clever as Sylvanas is, she once fell by the hands of our king, and by his name and legacy, we shall bring Sylvanas down once again and reclaim the land of Lordaeron for the Scourge! And as for that dreadlord, he is nothing, but a treacherous paltry fiend that would instantly sell his own kin just to save himself up. He is weak and pathetic just like the rest of his kind! It is hard to believe that those dreadlords were actually the jailors of Ner'zhul."

Kel'Thuzad: "True. Which is why we must plan our next move carefully. Despite the defenses and hold of Sylvanas over the Plaguelands and the Capital City, we might yet be able to find a weakness amongst her ranks, particularly through someone treacherous yet scrupulous such as Varimathras."

Kel'Thuzad and Baron Rivendare discuss their plans for their next move against Sylvanas and her Forsaken warriors. After securing the region of Hearthglen, the lich and the death knight intend to head to the west to assault the next major Forsaken bastion upon the Plaguelands, the ruined village of Vandermar. The village was where Arthas rallied the hidden acolytes of the Cult of the Damned after killing his own father, King Terenas Menethil. Vandermar Village also became the stronghold of the dreadlord Detheroc and his enslaved human warlord servant Garithos before they have been defeated by Sylvanas and her army. The ruined village has since become a holdout of the Forsaken, and is protected by a strong army of rebel undead warriors and several remaining powerful demons.
