Early the next day, just the outside of the Capital City, the death knight Baron Titus Rivendare and the flesh beast Gorerot finally reunites with the lich Kel'Thuzad. Arriving from the borders of the western Plaguelands and the Tirisfal Glades, Titus and Gorerot brought with them the entire armies of the Scourge in Lordaeron. Prior to their arrival, Kel'Thuzad began establishing two bases in the outskirts of the city. The two Scourge bases that are being built stand at the same sites of the former base of Sylvanas and Varimathras, and the former camp of Garithos when they all fought Balnazzar in the region. With the recent establishment of the Scourge bases, Sylvanas and her Forsaken forces are aware of the Scourge presence near the Capital City. Titus and Gorerot meets with Kel'Thuzad on the southeastern Scourge base. Just as the three Scourge leaders discuss their plans on besieging the city and defeating the Forsaken, Sylvanas suddenly shows up in the open to confront them all.
Kel'Thuzad: "Ah, Baron Titus, Gorerot, you finally made it. You did well in your victory over the western Plaguelands. With the loss of their bases there, we have the overall advantage on this war."
Titus: "The dreadlord did not lie to us, Kel'Thuzad. The entire Plaguelands are all ours once more."
Kel'Thuzad: "Indeed, and now, here we at the Capital, it is time that we finally face Sylvanas and retake the kingdom of King Arthas. I have already begun the preparations for the upcoming battle."
Titus: "It has been a long time since I last visited our Capital. At last, we will confront that wretched banshee witch and put her in her place! Sylvanas and her Forsaken rebels will fall as they deserve!"
Kel'Thuzad: "Our foes already know of our presence here. The Forsaken have formidable defenses over the city, and we can only win through heavy attrition. We shall attack from two different sides in the same manner that Sylvanas first claimed it from the dreadlord Balnazzar. I will bring Gorerot with me to our other base in the far north while you, Titus, can stay here and attack from this side."
Titus: "A perfect strategy, lich. We will give Sylvanas a taste of her own medicine just as we crush her and all her forces on the city. This will be glorious battle, which we shall win by the end of it!"
Kel'Thuzad: "There is more, Titus. Our scouts have discovered a group of newly mutated zombies lurking somewhere around the wilderness. I believe they are called plague eruptors. If you can find and control the zombies, they would serve us well and bolster our armies as we fight the Forsaken."
Titus: "Intriguing. A new variant of zombies. They may prove useful to us indeed. I will make sure to locate those mutated zombies and see what they are capable of. They shall become our warriors."
Kel'Thuzad: "Very well then. It is time for us to take positions and prepare our assault before-…"
Sylvanas: "So the wretched minions of Arthas have finally shown up! I have been expecting you!"
Kel'Thuzad: "Ah, Sylvanas! We finally meet again. We did not expect that you would show up to us like this. I see you have grown stronger since we last met, and are now ruling over the kingdom."
Sylvanas: "Kel'Thuzad! It has been a while, lich. I had been waiting for this day to meet you again. We have serious score to settle! You cost me my chance of getting revenge on Arthas! I could not stop you, I was weak then, but no longer! You are right, I am much stronger now, and I shall make you pay for it, Kel'Thuzad! You shall not take this land! Lordaeron now belongs to the Forsaken!"
Titus: "Foolish banshee! These lands belong to King Arthas! And we, his servants, shall retake it in his name! You have no idea of what is coming for you! You really think you can defeat us, little archer?! We have already vanquished your minions in the Plaguelands! Soon, we will destroy your weak armies here and bring you down to your knees! You shall suffer for your defiance, Sylvanas!"
Sylvanas: "Another paltry follower of Arthas! You must be the one called Rivendare. Your threats are nothing, death knight! I do not fear a mere mongrel fanatic of Arthas! I may have failed to slay your master, but you will have to suffice! I will see to it that you die by my own hands, Rivendare!"
Gorerot: "Ghost elf no win! We crush you! We take city! No more Forsaken! Scourge rules lands!"
Sylvanas: "That huge ugly monster you have must be your new creation, this so-called Flesh Beast. You think you could scare me with that mindless oaf of yours?! Its size and strength are not enough to bring me down! I will gladly tear that beast to pieces, and that goes the same for the two of you! Prepare yourselves! It is time to even the scales! You shall all feel the hatred and vengeance of the Forsaken! The Scourge will perish in these lands! We shall defeat you as we did to the dreadlords!"
Kel'Thuzad: "So be it, Sylvanas. We will see who stands last in this war. Let the battle commence."
At that moment, Sylvanas runs back to her fortified stronghold inside the city and readies her army for battle. On the other hand, Kel'Thuzad uses a magic item called Scroll of Town Portal to teleport himself and the flesh beast Gorerot to the far northwestern Scourge base, which was the site of the former camp of Sylvanas and Varimathras in the region. Baron Titus Rivendare remains behind in the southeastern Scourge base, which was the site of the former Alliance camp of Garithos. Having taken up their position, the battle between the Scourge and the Forsaken for the Capital City begins.
Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot muster a vast undead army in their own base in the northwest, while Titus assembles his own separate army on the southeastern base. The Scourge warriors consist of ghouls, crypt fiends, abominations, necromancers, gargoyles, and meat wagons. Meanwhile, Sylvanas and her dark ranger agents also marshal their undead armies over the Capital City. The Forsaken forces consist of ghouls, crypt fiends, abominations, necromancers, banshees, gargoyles, obsidian statues, and obsidian destroyers. Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot lead their army to move out against the Forsaken forces to the south of their base, whilst Titus leads his army to move out through the wilderness to the north as he intends to locate and recruit the plague eruptors that Kel'Thuzad had told him about.
Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot reached a Forsaken outpost upon crossing the first bridge to the southwest of their base. The Forsaken outpost is small but, built with good defenses and is being protected a strong group of enemy undead warriors. Wasting no time, the lich and the flesh beast led their full army to assault the first Forsaken outpost. A small yet fierce war battle occurs between the Scourge forces and the Forsaken defenders. The Scourge army have the advantage due to their vast numbers as well as the skills and leadership of both Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot. After a short yet vicious battle, the Scourge army crushed the enemy undead and razed the Forsaken outpost with quite ease, losing only light numbers of troops in the battle. Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot head on a nearby ruined housing area in the east where a remnant group of bandits of Blackthorn are protecting several items of the Forsaken. Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot lead their undead forces to kill the outlaws, and claim the items.
Kel'Thuzad: "These artifacts must have belonged to Sylvanas. We shall now take it for ourselves."
Meanwhile, on the far eastern side of the region, the death knight Titus leads his undead army onto the forests. Along their way, Titus and his own undead forces encounter various hostile beasts such as sasquatches, gnolls, and kobolds, which all lurk around the forest and small ruined houses. Titus and his undead army fight their way through the hostile creatures until they reach the northern cave where a barrier of rocks lies nearby. Titus and his army shatter the chunk of rocks and finally found the location of the plague eruptors, which is the same site where the contingent of dwarven support teams of Garithos got lost before on their way to the Capital City. Titus is astounded to see the big mutated zombies as he attempts to command them and take control of them in serving the Scourge.
Titus: "Large mutated zombies! Those are the plague eruptors that Kel'Thuzad told me about. We finally found them. Interesting, their magical mutation is unlike anything I ever seen before in any other common undead warrior. I sense that they are stronger and faster even than ghouls, and those pulsing nodules on their decaying flesh carry deadly plague. They would truly serve us well. I now call upon you mighty warriors to serve the Scourge in the name of the Lich King! I command you all to fight for us and bring glory to our great master! Follow me and we shall defeat all the enemies of the Scourge! By the will and powers of the Lich King, you, warriors, shall be ours to command!"
Baron Titus Rivendare points his runeblade towards the plague eruptors as it magically glows blue. The plague eruptors assemble themselves and willingly submit to the death knight as they are now under the commands of the Scourge and will fight in the name of the Lich King. The armies of the Scourge become stronger and larger with the plague eruptors now part of its ranks. After recruiting the mutated zombies, Titus leads his undead forces back to his own camp on the south and prepares them for a huge attack against one of the outlying major Forsaken bases located to the south of the Capital City. Titus leads his army out from their base once more and head to the southeastern route where they instantly cross through a bridge and enter the southern district of the city. Shortly after entering the city, Titus and his warriors head on a nearby ruined housing area in the north where a remnant party of Stonemaul ogres of Mug'thol are guarding several treasures of the Forsaken. The death knight leads his vast undead army to quickly slay all the ogres, and claim the items to himself.
Titus: "Ah, these magical treasures are being kept by the Forsaken. I shall make good use of them."
Meanwhile, on the far western side of the Capital City, Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot prepare their army in attacking the outlying major Forsaken base at the south westernmost area of the city, which was also the site of the main base of the undead army led by the lich Morbent Fell that served Balnazzar. The large outlying Forsaken bastion on the southwest is being watch over by the dark ranger Alina. Upon crossing the southwestern bridge, the Scourge forces led by Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot fiercely assault the enemy base and clash against the Forsaken defenders led by Alina. Another vicious war battle occurs between the Undead Scourge forces and the Undead Forsaken armies upon the region.
Alina: "Our enemies are advancing! Quickly, we must stand our ground, and drive them all back!"
Kel'Thuzad: "Strike for the Lich King, warriors! The Forsaken are no match against the Scourge!"
The Forsaken camp is large and has fortified defenses. Alina is a skilled dark ranger for she is able to stand against both Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot. The dark ranger casts her dark power in fighting by shooting her Black Arrows, casting Silence spell upon enemy spellcasters, and also channeling her Life Drain spell upon various foes. Alina also uses her most powerful spell of Charm to take control permanently any common enemy warrior that she targets. The Forsaken forces are offering a tough defense. However, the Scourge warriors remain strong in the battle as they press their assault hard. The Scourge still have the advantage due to the skills and powers of both Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot.
After a while of fierce war battle, the Scourge warriors eventually defeat the Forsaken forces while losing a moderate number of warriors. The outlying Forsaken base in the southwest of the city has been razed down to ruins, and the dark ranger Alina was killed by Kel'Thuzad during the battle by an icy blast of his Frost Nova spell. Though the Scourge lost a number of their own warriors in the battles, Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot secured the entire western district of the Capital City upon killing the dark ranger Alina and destroying the outlying Forsaken camps from that side. Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot return to their own base in the northwest to regroup and reassemble their forces once again.
Kel'Thuzad: "Victory draws near! Keep pressing the attack! The Capital City shall be ours again!"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Capital City, Titus leads his undead army in attacking the other outlying major Forsaken base located at the central south area of the city, which was the site of the base of the undead army led by the lich Ras Splinterspine that served Balnazzar. The large outlying Forsaken camp at the central south is being overseen by the dark ranger Loralen. Wasting no time, the Scourge army led by Titus attack the enemy base and clash against the Forsaken defenders led by Loralen. A heavy war battle once again occurs between the two-opposing undead of the Scourge and the Forsaken. Titus has brought the recently recruited plague eruptors along with his vast army.
Loralen: "The vile servants of Arthas are here! Defend the city at all costs! For Mistress Sylvanas!"
Titus: "Cut them down to shreds, my warriors! We will reclaim our city from these foolish rebels!"
The second outlying Forsaken camp is large and has tough defenses. Like Alina, Loralen is also a skilled dark ranger that possess dark powers of Silence, Black Arrows, Life Drain and Charm. The dark ranger uses her powers in fighting the death knight and the Scourge army. The Forsaken army of Loralen is quite considerable in numbers as they are fighting with strong defense. However, the numbers of the Scourge warriors are bigger due to the addition of the plague eruptors in their ranks. Given the greater and stronger numbers of their army, the Scourge has the upper hand on the battle.
The heavy war battle rages on and after a while later, Titus and his Scourge army eventually defeat the Forsaken forces while losing a moderate number of troops. The second outlying Forsaken base at the central south of the city has been decimated, and the dark ranger Loralen was killed by Titus during the battle with a killing slash of his sword. Though the war battle against Loralen was tough, Titus secured the entire southern district of the Capital City upon killing her and razing her outlying base. Titus returns to his base in the southeast to reassemble his army. With the destructions of the Forsaken bases surrounding the city, and the deaths of Alina and Loralen, only the main stronghold of Sylvanas remains, and it is the last bastion of the Forsaken forces located at the heart of the city.
Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot muster a vast undead army in their base in the northwest of the city, while Titus marshals another large undead army on his base in the southeast of the city. After assembling the full forces of the Scourge, Kel'Thuzad, Gorerot, and Baron Rivendare prepare all their warriors in moving out against the main stronghold of Sylvanas at the center of the Capital City. Kel'Thuzad and Gorerot lead their army from the northwest across the middle bridge to launch an attack against the stronghold of Sylvanas, while Titus leads his army from the southeast to move against the rear gates of the city and simultaneously attack the stronghold of Sylvanas. A massive war battle occurs as the Scourge forces launch their final assault to reclaim the Capital City and destroy the Forsaken for good. The two opposing undead forces clash in a last contest for the control of the Capital City.
Kel'Thuzad: "Forward, warriors! The Scourge will take back what rightfully belongs to our king!"
Sylvanas: "Arthas is no longer here, lich! Lordaeron now only belongs to the Forsaken! Die, fool!"
Gorerot: "Slay all rebels! We take kingdom now! Ghost elf no win against us! No more Forsaken!"
Sylvanas: "You do not scare me, you big ugly mongrel! I shall tear you to shreds as you deserve!"
Titus: "Glory to the Lich King! The Scourge is supreme! Your Forsaken shall soon fall, Sylvanas!"
Sylvanas: "You shall die by my hand, Rivendare! Taste the wrath and vengeance of the Forsaken!"
With her strongest agents gone and her outlying bases around the city in ruins, Sylvanas rallies all her standing warriors upon her main stronghold to stand their ground and fiercely fight the Scourge forces on two opposite sides. Though the Scourge armies outnumber the Forsaken forces, they had constructed formidable fortified defenses upon their stronghold, which is greater than of the former original defenses of the dreadlord Balnazzar. As the first and strongest dark ranger, Sylvanas casts all her powers in the war battle to fight all three commanders of the Scourge. The dark ranger casts her Silence spell upon Scourge spellcasters, and also shoots Black Arrows from her bow to convert fallen enemy troops into her own skeletal minion. Sylvanas also channels Life Drain spell to siphon health from any foe, and also casts Charm spell to permanently control any regular enemy warrior.
Sylvanas and her Forsaken army fiercely fight with such a great defense in the war battle. However, the vast armies of the Scourge surround and greatly outnumber the Forsaken forces. The combined leadership and powers of all three Scourge heroes, Kel'Thuzad, Gorerot, and Titus, also overpower the lone Forsaken leader, Sylvanas. Kel'Thuzad uses his dark icy power to cast Frost Nova to harm and freeze the Forsaken troops, and he also casts Frost Armor to protect him and his warriors with ice armor. The Lich also casts his most powerful dark spell of Death and Decay, which are swirling negative energies that decompose, rot, and destroy all warriors and fortified structures within them. Meanwhile Gorerot fights by the side of Kel'Thuzad as the mighty powerhouse leader, and he also uses his toxic gaseous and slimy acidic plague-based powers in the battle to harm and slay his foes.
On the other side of the Scourge, Baron Rivendare also uses his dark powers by casting Death Coil spells to heal his Scourge troops and allies for he cannot use it against the enemy undead Forsaken. Titus also continuously exudes his Unholy Aura to make him and all his allies around to move and regenerate life faster. Lastly, the death knight uses his most powerful necromantic spell of Animate Dead, which raises recently killed corpses into a small army of reanimated undead and would fight for him for a period of time, regardless of what their allegiance may have been prior to being killed. The Scourge forces have the upper hand in the war battle as they overwhelm and push through the defenses of the Forsaken. Given such dire situation, Sylvanas realizes that she is slowly losing the battle with many of her troops being killed and the structures upon her stronghold being destroyed. Sylvanas and her standing Forsaken troops still continue in desperately fighting the Scourge forces.
Kel'Thuzad: "The Capital City is almost ours! Their defenses are weakening! Quicken the attack!"
Gorerot: "All for one! Kill, rend, rip them to pieces!"
Titus: "Onward, warriors of the Scourge! Their downfall is inevitable! Victory shall be ours soon!"
Sylvanas: "I still have a hand to play! The Forsaken are not out of this yet! Fight on, my warriors!"
Sylvanas and her Forsaken forces put up a strong defense and tough fight as they are able to kill a considerable number of Scourge troops in the war battle. However, Kel'Thuzad, Gorerot, and Titus gain the overall upper hand in the war battle as they successfully lead their forces to breach through the Forsaken stronghold. The Forsaken fought with strong resistance, but the scales have turned in the favor of the Scourge. It did not take long before the Scourge decimate the Forsaken stronghold, and wipe out the Forsaken army, with the exception for Sylvanas herself. After a while of relentless fierce battling in the Capital City, the Forsaken had finally been defeated by the Scourge. Sylvanas stands alone with no more warriors to command and her entire stronghold now completely in ruins. With no hope of winning, Sylvanas desperately attempts to escape as she now runs away from the Capital City with the Scourge warriors led by Kel'Thuzad, Gorerot, and Titus pursuing her behind.
Sylvanas: "No! This cannot be! No! After everything I fought hard for! It is happening again! No!"
Kel'Thuzad: "Victory at last! The Capital City belongs to us once more! The Forsaken is finished!"
Titus: "It is all over, banshee! You have nothing left! We will now deal with you once and for all!"
Sylvanas: "Damn you! Damn you all to hell! No! I shall not fall before the Scourge again! Never!"
Titus: "Curse that woman! She is running away! Quickly, we must corner her before she escapes!"
Sylvanas exits the city from the rear eastern gate and hurriedly heads to the wilderness in the north. Kel'Thuzad, Gorerot, and Titus quickly lead their standing forces in chasing after her to the forests. As Sylvanas was about to enter the dark woods in the hopes of losing the Scourge behind, a magical shimmering portal suddenly appears right in front of her, barring her way and preventing her from running forward. The dark ranger was paused and confused by the sudden appearance of a magical portal, which give the pursuing Scourge warriors the chance to quickly catch up to her and instantly corner her. Sylvanas is now in such a desperate state as she cannot even run away from the Scourge.
Sylvanas: "If I can run into the woods, I should be able to… What?! What the hell?! What is this?!"
Kel'Thuzad: "She stopped running! Hurry, my warriors! This is our chance! Cease her at once!"
