At the Chief's Hut…
Stoick was grumbling with irritation while his sister was crossing his arms with the same irritation.
"We knew this was going to happen eventually, but I was hoping to stave off it for a few more years…" She grumbled with agitation while her son, Trout brought her some mead.
"Aye, now you know how I feel about my daughter, huh Brother?" Rawhide breathed while he drank his honey ale.
"… How long before they will be arriving?" Stoick questioned his right-hand man, Gobber.
"I say in the few days and they're bringing shiploads, and I mean literal shiploads of offerings to the village. You know you'll have to talk about this to Hiccup soon." Gobber informed, "And no, we shouldn't blast them with Thornado. They aren't going to steal the lad away."
"But they'll try to," Stoick grumbled with irritation while Thornado tried to comfort his rider.
"They'll have to get through us first. I think this is going to be fun. I've been looking forward to doing the Haddock Courtship Challenge." One of the members of the Haddock family chuckled darkly with his Nightmare.
"And with dragons, it will add more to the fun." One of the Haddocks who was a merchant with a Zippleback added with interest, "Like Boar Hunting but we can fly, we should even sell tickets for a show for Vikings. That would be a blast."
"Hmm," Stoick grumbled, but everyone knew he liked the idea perhaps even imagining it right now as they spoke.
"Please, we should be doing the tribe a favor and just give them-."
Before Wolfsbane could finish his sentence, weapons were thrown at him but he was able to dodge them. The look of his family, it was obvious that the clan was against even a thought about such a treacherous thing. They would rather die than allow such an insult to their family to take place. They would die to protect Hiccup and take down those who would bring him harm with them.
That was the Haddock way and no matter how much time passed it would never change for them.
"Fine." He growled then left.
"Well, Stoick, might as well rip the knife out now. The sooner the better." Swift sighed while she patted her brother's back.
Her Scauldron, Wildboy moaned a sad tone for his master while drinking some water. The dragons hated seeing their riders so upset but knew that there was not much they could do. But they made an unspoken vow to protect that
At the Dragon Academy a few days later…
Hiccup was tiddling his fingers as he felt nervous about the tribes that were coming soon to see him.
His riders found him sitting next to Toothless while he was petting him. They knew he was a bit nervous with so many Alphas that were coming. Hiccup has never been sought after before and he was worried he might be overwhelmed. They hated seeing him so scared, especially since the boy had been there for all of them.
"I'm guessing you heard by now?" Astrid surmised while trying to provide comfort to their leader, all could smell his distress.
"Yep, Dad told me. About ten to twenty tribal leaders with their alpha heirs to try and… court me." Hiccup confirmed while a terror flew by and crawled into the boy's lap.
Hiccup smiled and cuddled with the adorable critter with comfort. Dragons may be fierce but they can always bring a little bit was ease to their distressed riders and provide the extra love they need.
"Wow, Twenty, sounds like Berk's going to be cramped." Ruffnut pointed out.
"Wonder how much stuff we're going to poche from them before Stoick sicks the dragons on their butts," Tuffnut suggested with a smirk on his face.
"Yeah, want to see if some of the Tidal Class students want to join in?" Ruffnut chuckled darkly as the twins came up with plans.
They might as well get something out of this.
Why leave the greedy perverts with anything anyways?
Maybe the twins could get them to try to sell them back their stuff…
"A bunch of pompous Vikings from their Pompous tribes are coming here to try to woo Hiccup?" Snotlout scoffed with his arms crossed, "Great, but at least Hooky and I can watch the Haddocks beat the crud out of them."
"Speaking of the Haddocks… how did your father take it?" Fishleg wondered a little nervous about unknown Viking Tribes coming over to check out Hiccup like a piece of meat.
It was a little upsetting.
"Not well, my dad is like super protective and the rest of the clan… well…" Hiccup answered as he pointed to the line at Gobber's to get sharp, pointy weapons.
"Well, they love you and want to make sure the right one is there for you. Any less will taste their wrath." Astrid reminded then hugged the boy, "Don't worry, if any of them tried to lay a hand on you will be losing that hand. I promise."
"Thanks…"
Toothless made the same promise by nuzzling the boy as Hiccup petting him. Yeah, hard to get past an angry Night Fury who can rip out your insides like a piece of fish…
At the docks…
Hiccup gulped while he stood by Stoick, watching the ships make it to port.
The young Viking tried to swallow his nervousness as Alphas, one after another, left their ships.
"How do you do?"
