Blood And Bridges

Chapter 55

Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything

Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep.

You're still an innocent.

Maybe i needed this weekend. What normal is and was. I knew Sage and Lowen would agree to it without question.

But i expected some push back from my parents. And surprised i didn't get it. Glad this was happening.

Things have been weird between them for some time.

We pilled into the car with our luggage in the trunk.

Dad focused on driving while mom' attention was on us kids.

They weren't talking to each other and barely looking at each other.

Sage and Lowen didn't really notice it.

But it was very obvious to me.

Once we got to the cabin and got our luggage.

Sage and Lowen made their way straight upstairs towards their rooms.

"I'm going to go unpack. "Brooke announced as she left the entryway.

"This was the perfect idea my boy." Lucas said. Looking to Simon.

"We should head out and use the go carts or really anything." Lucas added in.

"Are you and mom okay because the ride over here was weird."

"Are the two of you fighting?" Simon questioned.

"We're good. This weekend is about you and you're siblings." Lucas replied.

Simon watched as his father's phone rang and he stepped outside to answer it.

As much as he wanted to not be bothered by that he was.

This weekend was supposed to be about bonding and making memories. He was supposed to be off work.

Simon then made his way upstairs to see how his mom was doing.

"I'm a married man. Those pictures you sent me are for someone who is single." Lucas said. Clutching his cellphone.

"I just wanted you to get a preview of what's waiting for you."

"Give Brooke the separation she wants."

"Why are holding it off?" Peyton asked.
