Prompt: Empty park in the early afternoon

A/N: Tiva, first thought was alien abductions, but that would've required actual thinking, so this happened instead.

The rustling of leaves and chirping of birds were the only sounds in the park, besides the rhythmic thumping of their feet. And his increasingly more labored breathing. He should've known joining Ziva for a run before getting himself back into shape was a mistake.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, he glanced around him. "Where is everyone?"

"What?" Ziva asked, and turned to look at him. She pursed her lips and slowed down to his speed.

"The park's empty," he said trying not sound too out of breath.

Ziva slowed down even more. "If you need a break-"

"What no! I'm doing great," he said, and gave up on the slow jog altogether. "We're the only ones here." Rustling in a nearby tree drew his attention. "Except for that squirrel, they're so much easier to spot once the leaves start falling."

Ziva raised an eyebrow. "I told you I was fine running at your speed."

"It's a nice sunny October afternoon, and the park is completely empty, that's not normal, Ziva."

"Why does it matter that we are the only people here?"

Tony looked around, and pulled his shirt up to wipe his face. When he lowered his shirt, Ziva was staring at him with a sly smile.

She looked him up and down with appreciation. "Is this some kind of excuse?"

He placed his hands on his sides, still trying to slow down his breathing. "What?"

"Did you want to...do something in public, without an audience?"

His head snapped up, and he looked at her wide-eyed. With a grimace, he panted, "You couldn't have asked me that three miles ago?"
