The Ghost & Molly McGee Kai ch4

(Fire Force- Main Theme)

Kai was stood in front of Molly as they both watched the reveal his true form, its form grew larger, morphing right before their eyes, mouth grew to the point that it replaced his whole face, chains wrapped around his left arms and its arms became bulkier, as the transformation finished it let out a terrifying roar shaking the alleyway.

Kai got into a battle stance as he tightened his grip on his katanas, "Hey McGee", Kai said to Molly, grabbing her attention, "I suggest you go hide somewhere, can't do my job if you're in the way", he said, Molly gave Kai a quick nod although was slightly annoyed with the lack of sympathy in his voice, regardless she dashed away from Kai in an attempt to hide from the large ghost, which said ghost noticed this and went to lunge at Molly, however the action was halted as Kai blocked the attack with one of his katanas causing Molly to run away faster, " Boy, why are you interfering?", The Ghost said with fury in his voice, " I don't know maybe it because your literally hunting down a little girl, I think that says for itself", Kai said, a smirk growing on his, in response The Ghost growled as he tried to hit Kai, however his view was suddenly changed to the sight of ravens flying as he realised Kai was gone.

The Ghost looked around franticly in order to find Kai, his patients was running thin as he decided to go search for Molly again, however his plan was interrupted by a sharp pain in his back, as he recoiled from the pain, he turned around to see Kai standing there with a smile, " Honestly, you ghost just keep sinking lower and lower", he said as The Ghost quickly lunged at Kai only for the boy to disappear again which was then followed by another slash to The Ghost, "It like all you guys ever do is try to hurt people," he said, continuing to dodge The Ghost various attacks, "Is it too much to ask that you just stay down", Kai said with some seriousness in his voice as he stared at The Ghost, "You annoying brat, what are you a ghost hunter ?", he said, this shocked both Kai and Molly from her hidden hiding spot, however while Molly's was with genuine shock, Kai's was one of anger and annoyance at The Ghost ", Oh trust me, I am not ghost hunter", Kai said as he quickly grabbed his katanas causing them to glow purple only to then slashed the air in front sending a bird shaped blast hurling towards The Ghost causing an explosion that shook the alleyway, seemingly destroying The Ghost.

(Music stop)

"Annoyance", Kai said with venom in his voice, clearly annoyed with what The Ghost previously said, "You're a ghost hunter?", a voice came from behind him, Kai turned around to see Molly appear from behind a large dustbin, despite her frazzled look, her voice showed concern toward whether or not he was a ghost hunter, " Just like I told that ghost, I'm not a ghost hunter", Kai said, getting annoyed with repeating himself, " I am a apostle of The Raven Queen, a servant to her greatness, guider of wayward souls, and a warrior of the lost and dammed!", he said loudly with passion and pride as he spoke with his head up high.

Molly just stood there processing what he was saying however something about what he said caught her attention, "Guider of wayward souls?", Molly said as her eyes started to widen a bit as she was slowly putting two and two together, "Yes, that what I said, do you need to get your ears checked I seem to be repeating myself a lot", Kai said irritably, "As in like helping them?", Molly said, " I wouldn't say that", he replied with a concerning tone," That means…. You're a ghost helper!", she said with excitement as she smiled, "What", Kai said confused by the girl sudden conclusion, "You go out and help ghosts, that why you came here", Molly said as she was very close to Kai, still smiling, "Hey, just because I said I'm a guider of souls doesn't mean I..", Kai said before being cut off by Molly, " You also said that you're a warrior of the lost, which means you protect them too," she said, " And the dammed but that's not the point", Kai said slowly losing his patients with Molly, "Oh, is that why you're here to protect me cause I help ghost too," she said " No, maybe, I don't know, can you stop for a second?!", he said as he grabbed Molly by the shoulders, "Listen, 1. I don't know why I need to protect you, 2. I don't guide souls, I am a warrior of the lost and dammed", Kai said, his tone slowly getting more serious, "And 3. I don't help Ghost", he finished, his voice oozed with disgust and anger at the thought of helping a ghost, his grip on Molly shoulders tightens as thought about it, Molly winced slightly because of it.

(Music stop)

Kai noticed this and quickly let go turning away from her, Molly noticed this a thought to herself, "Oh no, I the too friendly thing again, that second time since I moved here", Molly looked at Kai, still facing away, Molly was sadden by this as it was yet another potential friend that she could have, especially since it seemed like Kai was obligated to be there, specifically for her," Hey, thank you for protecting me", she said calmly, "I'm just doing my job", Kai said still facing away from Molly, " I know but you risked your life for me, that only deserves some sort of thanks", Molly said, hoping to get a reaction out of Kai, fortunately for her it worked as Kai turned around with a sigh, "Your welcome", he said causing Molly to smile with a grin.

"So, you said you have to protect me", she says, " Yes, from things like chain man back there", he said pointing behind him at the smoking hole where The Ghost was last," Woah, so that makes you my bodyguard or something", Molly said, " That's a simple way of putting it", he said causing Molly to jump for a bit, "Wow, a personal bodyguard, it's like having another friend by your side at all times", she said, with giddy in her voice, "Friend?, no, no, I'm your bodyguard not your friend", Kai said with concern hoping Molly didn't get the wrong idea, "Oh, I know but with all the time we'll spend together I'm sure we can be", Kai was taken back by Molly's optimistic view of the situation, "What if I don't want friends?", Kai said, "Aw who doesn't want friends", she replied, "Uh…me, I don't want friends", he said, "What, no way", Molly said as waved her hand at Kai, "Everyone, wants a friend at some point", she said, "Not me", Kai said, "I only need myself", he continued with a smirk, " Woah, you must be pretty sad and lonely", Molly said sadly resulting in Kai nodding, "Which is why I'm gonna help you not be", Molly said with excitement, "Yes…wait I mean no..ugh!", Kai said with frustration, however as the two talked small rumbling could be heard from the hole behind them.
