Bit of a one-shot this time, but nevertheless, here's the next part of the story ^^
So as you probably guessed from the title, this story will be about Knives
Please enjoy and feel free to to comment your thoughts.
KNIVES OUT
At Stephen's place (Before Scott left with Ramona)
Knives (Age: 17 (still). Status: Amazed) gazed at Ramona's new hair colour, amazed at how a girl like her could change it, even Scott was pretty amazed at it himself. "You can change your hair colour?" She asked, enthralled by the new hair colour that Ramona had on her. "Yeah, I usually change my hair like every three weeks. Do you guys like it?" Ramona asked after patting her hair slightly. "I'd say it suits you well." Kim said with just one look.
As they all kept talking to Ramona, Knives was still fixated on Ramona's hair, how she could change it and above all else, look cool whilst having a new colour too. "Uh...have you ever thought about collaborating with a songwriter, Knives?" Stephen (Status: Wants Knives to join Sex Bob-Omb so badly!) asked, immediately snapping Knives out of her trance. She seemed a little confused on that subject, and she could've sworn she saw Kim looking pretty annoyed at Stephen for some reason.
A couple of days afterwards after school...
Knives rushed to a nearby drug mart. She was just after telling her parents she'd be a bit late coming home due to walking a friend's younger sibling home, when in reality, she had her mind focused on one thing. "Tamara! Can you meet me at my house in like, twenty minutes?" She said on the phone to her friend Tamara (Knives' only friend and moral support) while looking at all the various boxes of hair dye. She was amazed at how Ramona fought and even how she'd dye her hair, and that immediately gave her the idea to dye her own hair. "Tamara! I'm being serious! I need your help with something. Pleeeease? It's important." She continued insistently.
Over at the Chau Residence
Tamara met Knives at her house and Knives herself explained the whole thing to Tamara, about Ramona and her new hair colour. "So like, remember when I told you Scott was dating a wicked cool American chick?!" Knives asked while showing so much enthusiasm to her friend. "Yeah, I think you already told me." Tamara said, groaning a little at this. "Yeah, well sure, he did get disinterested in me and I was wondering why." Knives went on as she recounted how Scott cheated on her. "Maybe he's a jerk at heart?" Tamara then pointed out (Not-So Fun Fact: This was the case in the comics) with the roll of her eyes.
"Well he kinda is, but at the same time he's a really sweet guy. I mean, he had a point when he said an adult like him dating a high schooler is frowned upon by so many people and said sorry to me." Knives pointed out, a little sad yet understood why Scott did those things. "Well to be fair, he's not wrong. It's lucky your dad didn't find out about this." Tamara then said in agreement. All the while, Knives was looking at the instructions on the hair dye box, but had trouble reading it. "Can you read these instructions for me, Tammy? I'm so excited." She then asked her friend.
"Wait, are you seriously bleaching your hair? That's so fobby..." Tamara asked, a little grossed out by this. After some convincing from Knives, the two girls were in the bathroom. Knives herself had just washed her hair while following the instructions on dying her own hair. "Ok, so we gotta let it sit for like half an hour." Tamara said, reading the instructions, though that part came as a bummer to Knives. "Half an hour?! Man, this sucks..." She groaned, though she tried to take her mind off the matter by thinking of Ramona. "I can see why Scott likes her so much. Sure, she's probably like 25 and she's..." She then boasted before being interrupted.
"Some fat-XXX white girl?" Tamara asked, thinking that's what Knives was going to say (Not-So Fun Fact(Again): Knives originally called Ramona this in the comics and movie), only for her friend to look up in shock. "No, she's a cool girl! She's got her life sorted and she's letting us help these seven evil douchebags! Man, I never even knew there was good music until I saw Scott's band." Knives said. Her life was changing for the better, in fact a lot better than others as they'd put it. "Scott's the sweetest guy! He's so sweet and her really cares about everyone's feelings and even mine. Can you open this box also? We have to do this one soon." She then said before asking Tamara to help her out.
A few moments later, Knives was washing her hair with the bath's tap. Knives claimed her own hair looked like it was bleeding, though she thanked Tamara for helping her dye her hair tonight. Tamara, unfortunately, couldn't hear a word of what she said. After drying off her hair, Knives looked into the mirror to see that part of her hair was dyed red and then felt a wave of awesomeness wash over her. "Wow. I look so good." She said, accepting her new look with a smirk on her face. Even more moments later, Knives threw on, what she called, a battle outfit, consisting of a black vest and pants, black fingerless gloves and a white and grey striped scarf.
Tamara had some concerns about Knives and her new outfit, though Knives couldn't take a hint, especially while playing a new CD that Scott had bought her as a way to make up for what he did. "What's this weird music?" Tamara then asked, mostly out of her own curiosity. "The Clash at Demonhead (The Greatest Band aside from Sex Bob-Omb according to Knives)." Knives responded with a pride-filled smirk, the kind of smirk that gave Tamara bad vibes in a way. "Um...are you sure you're not going nuts with this whole thing going on by the way?" She then asked. The question caused Knives to turn towards her friend with a calm smile, though she still had her crazy-like determination still in her voice.
"Come on, Tamara. All I'm gonna do is see how strong Ramona is and I'm gonna show her my moves, she'll see how cool I am and we'll be besties for life, probably. What's the worst that could happen?" Knives (Status: Possibly tempting fate) then asked rhetorically. For a while, Tamara didn't answer back until she listened to the song Knives played. "You know, this song is actually pretty good. Didn't you say they were called-" Before Tamara could even finish, Knives immediately cut her off. "They're my favourite band, Tamara! You can't have them!" She blurted out, and from Tamara's pov, she figured Knives really had a passion for that band.
Over at Stephen Stills' place
Scott had just walked in where he saw Stephen himself, along with Kim and Young Neil, getting ingredients out for Shepard's pie. "Took you long enough, Scott..." Kim said with slight boredom in her tone. "What took you so long anyway Scott? And have you seen your new-new girlfriend or Knives by any chance?" Stephen then asked while noticing the absence of Ramona and Knives. "Uh, I haven't seen them just yet, and as for the first question...well, it's kind of a long story..." Scott then replied sheepishly, thinking back to what happened before he'd arrived at the place.
Earlier...
At Second Cup
Scott and Wallace, who were currently trying to figure out which evil ex was coming next, walked into the Second Cup to grab his usual order. He would've immediately asked Stacey, but unfortunately for him, he was met with the last person he wanted to see: Julie Powers (Status: Enraged with Scott for ignoring her!). "Scott Pilgrim!" She yelled with such rage in her tone, scaring Scott on the spot and making Wallace (Scott's Cool Gay Roommate. Emotion: Serious anger towards Julie) annoyed. "AH! Not you! W-Wait, where's Stacey?! What the hell have you done with her?!" Scott immediately demanded, looking around for his sister.
"She left! Finished her shift and went to the Reference Library with your friend Ramona! Not that you'd understand, anyway." Julie bluntly responded. "O-Ok, that makes sense." Scott replied awkwardly. "Anyways, I can't XXXXXXX believe you asked Ramona asked after I specifically told you not to XXXXXXX do that! God, if you hurt her so help me-!" Julie then growled, almost tempted to punch (And nearly did... O_o) Scott in his face, only for Wallace to get in the way. "Hey, why don't you lay off him Powers! Scotty's not gonna do that! Besides, you probably don't know anything about Ramona yourself!" He said, defending his buddy, and boy did he mean business.
Julie was taken back by those words from Wallace, but shook her head and calmed down seconds later. "Whatever...so what can I XXXXXXX get you boys?" She then asked bluntly, her personality coming back to her within seconds. "Uh yeah, how about a caramel macchiato and a croissant?" Scott then awkwardly ordered despite the glare he got from Julie. Despite everything, Julie got the order ready within a few moments, and surprisingly Scott and Wallace were patient enough to wait. "Here's your XXXXXXX order, gay boys. Oh by the way, my best friend, who happens to be your other ex, is back in town and asked for your number. I was reluctant to give it away since you're-" Julie began as she gave the boys their order while mentioning Scott's other ex.
When she looked up however, Scott and Wallace (Status: Gone like the wind) were gone, though there was a five dollar tip left behind in their place. In truth, the second the boys heard the word other ex, they immediately scrammed out the door. "Ugh, not surprising..." Julie muttered to herself.
Stephen and Kim just stared at Scott in annoyance (Kim's Note: Yep...just what we'd expect from Scott). Apparently, Scott failed to mention Julie mentioning his other ex, so it wasn't surprising at all. "Is that seriously the story? You and Wallace ran out the door before Julie could punch you?" Stephen asked with an arched eyebrow. "Yeah...pretty much. Plus, it's Julie, isn't it?" Scott responded while complaining about Stephen's girlfriend. "Why do I get the feeling you're not actually telling us the whole story, Scott?" Kim then asked bluntly, causing Scott to pull a slightly offended face on her. And when it didn't work he just groaned in annoyance.
"And besides, what do you even have against Julie? And more to the point, what does Julie have against you?" Stephen then asked, pretty confused on why his girlfriend would talk XXXX about Scott. "It's like she's evil or something, guys!" Scott responded, the words seemed to annoy Stephen. "Pretty sure she's not evil." He barely managed to respond back. "I swear to god, she's a villain, guys!" Scott immediately responded, his words (Though making a good point about Julie) making Kim annoyed as well. Of course, Young Neil didn't say anything and just kept to himself.
"She's not a villain! Anyway, what really happened between you and Julie earlier?" Stephen then yelled before calming himself and asking Kim's question from before. "It's nothing too interesting anyway. Besides, my day hasn't been that eventful really..." He pointed out, though deep down he didn't exactly want to explain the whole thing. "Well sucks to be you then, Scott." Ramona said, appearing behind him along with Knives (Status: Best! Day! Every!), though they looked like they'd been fighting, given they looked out of breath and had a few scrapes on them. "I concur." Knives added, looking like she had the best day of her life.
"There you girls are. Where've you both been?" Kim then said, smiling a little as she greeted the girls. "It's a pretty fun story actually." Knives responded as she sat at the table. It was then that Scott noticed the new outfit Knives was wearing, that along with the fact that part of her hair was dyed read. "How fun are we talking about?" He then asked as he sat at the opposite end of the table to help prepare the vegan shepherd's pie. "Funny you should ask..." Knives then responded, thinking back to Earlier on when she carried out her plan.
Earlier On... (Again)
Toronto Reference Library
Knives (Status: Full-on Ninja girl and ready to show Ramona her moves) was on the roof of the building with a smirk. She saw Ramona, who was about to deliver a package to someone in the library, and Stacey enter the place while chatting. This was it...time to show Ramona what she was capable of. Inside, the two girls went to the information desk where Ramona managed to deliver whatever package the receptionist needed. After that, the girls decided to have a walk around. "So...this place s pretty big for a public library." Ramona said, looking around the place in amazement.
"Yeah...dunno why they even added the elevators here, but yeah." Stacey said before trying to turn off her phone. At that moment however, Ramona caught glimpse of a figure leaping towards her from the top floor. Acting fast, she whipped out a Titanium Baseball bat and countered the figure's attack before seeing Knives in front of her with a somewhat crazed look on her face. "Knives?! What the heck are you doing? Wait...did Gideon send you to take me out?" Ramona then asked, assuming something that confused Knives. "I don't even know who that is (Fun Fact: She's never met Gideon and that's a good thing too)." She responded with a confused look on her face, oblivious to everyone else looking at the two girls.
"Oh...well, why are you here then?" Ramona immediately asked, wondering just why in the heck Knives attacked her like that. "Simple: I wanna see how great you are in a fight." Knives explained, throwing her knives into the air before catching them again with her two hands. "Didn't you already see that when we fought my first ex?" Ramona asked, a little annoyed, but felt like Knives wanted to do this for a reason. "Yeah...but I also wanna show you what I can do too." Knives explained before trying to attack Ramona, only to be stopped by Stacey (Emotion: Definitely worried about what could happen).
"Knives are you crazy? You can't just do a stunt like that in a place like this!" Stacey exclaimed, gesturing towards the entire library with everyone either watching or minding their business. "Eh, I'm sure it's fine. Anyways, show me your moves Flowers!" Knives said, shrugging off the concerns before turning towards Ramona. "Oh man, are we seriously doing this?" She asked with slight embarrassment. "Pretty much. So time to Chau Down!" Knives responded quickly, preparing herself for a spar against the girl she looked up to.
KNIVES CHAU
VS.
RAMONA FLOWERS
SPARRING ROUND
FIGHT!
Knives rushed towards Ramona, who blocked her oncoming attack like she figured. Ramona tried to fight back by swinging her titanium bat, but Knives was quick to dodge the attack and even jumped up to the next floor with amazing speed. "Come on, Ramona. Is that all you've got?" She asked before throwing her two knives at Ramona, only for them to be blocked by Ramona's titanium bat. "Ohohoho, I think you're gonna be in for such a surprise, kid." She said before ran up the wall to the next floor to Knives' amazement. She then summoned a couple more of knives, which looked identical to her ones she'd just thrown, only a big bigger.
"Wow, you're so cool! But how are you at dodging these?!" She then asked before attacking Ramona with the bigger knives, only for her opponent to dodge. Knives then threw a couple more of her knives, which Ramona dodged...only for them to explode and send her flying towards Knives, which she then used to her advantage to kick Ramona in the stomach. "I've had a lot of practice, Knives. Believe me, I've had plenty of that going around." Ramona spoke before getting back to her feet tackling Knives to the ground of the upper floor. Looking up, Knives noticed that she'd managed to accidently graze Ramona's face when she tried to attack again.
"Oooh, sorry...that was probably a bit too much." She apologised as Ramona wiped away the blood from her cheek. "I've had worse. It's fine (Knives' Note: Worse? How worse)." Ramona spoke reassuringly before the two continued the fight. As they fought, Stacey tried to contact her brother Scott, but couldn't get through for some reason (Not-So Fun Fact: It's because he's calling Wallace for cheat codes). "Seriously, how does someone like you get to be this strong, and cool and cute and hip?! It's like something tragic happened and made you-" Knives asked Ramona, wanting to know just how in the hell Ramona got to be like this while dodging Ramona's Large Hammer.
However, Ramona lost concentration on blocking due to Knives' question and accidently smacked her in the chest, knocking her to the ground in pain to her horror. "Oh god, Knives. Are you ok? I-I'm so sorr-" Before Ramona could finish her apology, Knives took her by surprise by doing a leg sweep. "Snooze you lose, Rammy." Knives said with a snicker, all before jumping to the bottom floor of the public library with Ramona following her seconds after. The two then casted their weapons aside and fought hand-to-hand, and surprisingly both girls were just about equally matched.
"Seriously, Scott is lucky to have an awesome girl like you in his life. Why'd you think I wanted to spar with you today?" Knives (' Note: Did I just say that out loud?) asked before pinning Ramona to the ground, looking like she was going to punch her, but didn't. "Wait...you actually wanted to spar...with me?" Ramona asked in surprise while letting her guard down. "Yeah. I wanted to show you what I can do in a fight." Knives replied eagerly. Ramona's surprise became one with appreciation. Sure she had done many bad things in the past, but she was surprised that she's inspired someone to be something like her.
The moment, however, was interrupted when Stacey (Emotion: Panicking. Status: Not wanting her friends, let alone herself, to get arrested) came towards them. "Uh girls, I um...think we should go." She said, pointing towards the damages that Ramona and Knives had caused during their sparring. "Yeah...time to go." Ramona responded awkwardly before she and the two girls left.
Scott became surprised after hearing the sparring between his girlfriend and his high school ex. "Wow, you two actually did all that? And I missed it?!" He exclaimed with amazement. "We only fought for a few minutes before Stacey stopped the fight." Ramona responded while blushing (Fun Fact: She appreciates Scott's ) a little. "Then what happened?" Stephen asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. "After we left the library, Ramona and I talked a few things about fighting and stuff and now here we are. Man, she's like the sister I never had." Knives explained as she relaxed on her chair and sighed.
"Man, if only I could've been there to see how it all went down..." Scott then said, wishing he'd seen the action (He really does...well that and he was also concerned for the girls) with his own eyes. After a while, the Shepherd's Pie was made and the guys dug in. "Vegan Shepherd's Pie eh? I didn't know any of you guys were vegan." Ramona said after eating her part of the Shepherd's Pie. "Nah, we're not really vegan. We just like to be inclusive. I just eat a lot of stuff." Scott responded to Ramona's surprise. "He's not wrong there to be honest. I eat eggs, Neil eats fish and Kim and Knives eat, well...whatever." Stephen added.
"So um...by the way Knives, have you thought about my proposal." He then asked Knives, who then looked up towards Stephen with excitement. "Wait, what proposal?" Scott then asked while reaching for his soda that he then proceeded to drink. "He basically asked Knives to join our band." Kim revealed to Scott, causing him to immediately spit out away from the group to their shock. "Wait what?! When the hell did this happen?" He exclaimed in shock. "After you and Rammy left for your second date the other night." Stephen explained, slightly annoyed.
"Yeah...I think joining your band would be so awesome! But what could I play? I mean, Scott's already on Bass." Knives then responded, accepting the offer from Stephen, though she was concerned. "Eh, don't worry...we'll figure it out as we go along." Kim said reassuringly to Knives, even patting her on the back gently. Scott looked baffled, though he smiled in acceptance towards this change, since if they probably DID suck, then Knives could actually make a real difference in the band.
Elsewhere...
Gideon's Lair
Gideon (Emotion: Jealousy...) observed the group as they had a pretty good time with each other, something which disgusted him since his own ex, Ramona, was among them. His jealous thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his Butler calling him. "Master Ingram has arrived, sir. Shall I send him in?" He said, gesturing towards the door to his lair, making Gideon smile. "You can, thank you." Gideon responded, satisfaction in his tone. Seconds later, Todd Ingram (Ramona's Third Evil Ex. Status: Has no clue why Gideon summoned him here) entered the lair, wanting to know what Gideon wanted to see him for.
"You wanted to see me, boss?" He asked, figuring he wouldn't be here if it wasn't important info from Gideon. "Indeed. It looks like you've finally got your chance to take down Scott Pilgrim." Gideon then responded to his minion and third ex in line to defeat Scott. "Awesome! Wait, I thought Lucas already took care of him?" Todd then exclaimed with excitement, even doing a bit of a dance on the spot before remembering something he'd forgotten (And not to mention has still no clue about) about. "He didn't. He actually bailed after Scott and Ramona brought him back from the dark side apparently." Gideon then said before revealing what happened on one of his monitors, even showing Lucas sparing Scott's life after he saved his.
"Hmph...guess he took the coward's way out." Todd scoffed in annoyance. "Indeed, so like I said, it's your turn. Just use your vegan powers or whatever you call them to destroy Scott. He'll never know what hit him, right?" Gideon then said, giving his minion the go-ahead to take on Scott. "Yeah...you're right! He's never met anyone like me before." Todd boasted before using his powers to throw a glass antique across the room, causing it to smash into the wall to Gideon's annoyance. "Just don't make a mess of your chance." He groaned, though appreciating Todd's enthusiasm.
"Pff, I'm a Rockstar, I never make a mess. Besides, I'm in a band with my girlfriend, and talking of which, we're going to Toronto. So I'll take him out then." Todd then pointed out with pride. "Good...go for it, and don't fail me." Gideon then said, sending Todd away, the latter of which did exactly that with a smirk. On the way out, Todd got out his cell phone and dialled. "Hey babe...how soon are we leaving for Toronto?" He asked his girlfriend on the other side. All the while, Gideon briefly watched this and rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Vegans...blegh. Good thing I'm not like that meathead..." He said to himself, not even wanting to think about the outcome of the battle.
There we have it.
Sorry if it was a short chapter, but I can tell you, the next chapters will be a lot longer, and that's where we'll also be seeing the next evil ex of Ramona.
Though how will that play out? Stay tuned until then.
Negaboss2000 out ^^
