ROX YOU LIKE A HURRICANE (Part 1)
The next night
Chau Residence (Air Conditioned)
Knives (Occupation: Keyboardist for Sex Bob-Omb) was with her friend, Tamara (Age: 17. Knives' only high school friend.), telling her about how great it was gonna be for Sex Bob-Omb to have their very own album or two. "Seriously, this is totally gonna rock millions of lives in the next two decades or whatever!" She exclaimed with excitement before sitting back down on her bed gently. "I'm happy for you, K. Oh, the Clash at Demonhead. I downloaded this a while after you kept on fangirling over them." Tamara then said before noticing Knives' old CDs on the Clash at Demonhead (Status: Disbanded after...well, you've read the story haven't you?).
"That was a long time ago, Tamara. I stopped loving them after losing my highlights." Knives said firmly, and boy she wasn't joking around. "Same way you stopped loving Scott Pilgrim after he dumped you for that American girl, Ramona Flowers?" Tamara then asked out of slight boredom, surprising Knives almost immediately. "What? I still love Scott, and we broke up on good terms. Besides, Ramona and I are cool with each other." She explained reassuringly. "Well then why'd you slash out his face on your old shrine then?" Tamara asked, pointing to Knives' old shrine of her ex (Fun Fact: Started obsessing over Scott after they first met.) where she saw a photo of Scott with an x-like slash mark on it.
"I did what...?" She asked before walking over to her shrine to inspect the slash marks. Looking closely at it, the slash marks weren't created by her Knives, so it couldn't have been her. No. Whoever slashed out Scott's face on the photo looked to have a sword. "Wait...I didn't do that..." Knives said, her expression telling Tamara that she was serious. "Well who else would do that?" She asked Knives in confusion. All the while, as Knives thought, she failed to spot the same figure that had stalked Scott, standing at Knives' door and peering inside.
At Sneaky Dee's (A late-night tex-mexy bar (At the same time))
Scott and Lisa both went to the bar after meeting up with a few of their friends, Kim, Hollie, Stephen and unfortunately, Julie. Earlier on, Scott went to invite Young Neil to the gathering, but apparently he was busy with studying and playing video games (However that works)...until he gave up and came out of boredom. However Stephen Stills gladly came in terms of celebrating Sex Bob-Omb finally getting their album together. They had just gotten their drinks, and Scott his food until several moments later, Ramona (Status: Finished her shift) arrived after finishing her shift. "Hey guys." She said before Scott allowed her to sit with the group.
"Ah, you got my message. Bit late don't you think?" Kim said with a slight smirk, though Ramona didn't answer back and merely smirked, knowing that Kim was joking. "So, you must be Scott's girlfriend, Ramona Flowers, right?" Lisa (Emotion: Happy in terms of meeting Ramona for the first time.) then asked after seeing Ramona sit beside Scott. "Oh, hello. Are you a friend of Julie's or someone else?" Ramona then asked Lisa, though Kim was the one to do the introductions this time.
"Ramona Flowers, I'd like you to meet Lisa Miller. She used to go to High School with us, and it's because of her that we formed our very first band (Which is called Sonic & Knuckles. And yes, it's a reference to Sonic the Hedgehog.) back then." Kim said, explaining how she and Scott knew Lisa. "Wait, you three used to go to high school together?" Ramona immediately asked in surprise, a little hurt that Scott didn't mention anything about Lisa in the past, especially when she turned towards him to ask. "Y-Yeah. Pretty much. She's visiting until the end of summer too." Scott explained to his girlfriend sheepishly.
"Huh, sounds pretty good." Ramona said, smiling a little. Sure, she felt slightly jealous, but not that much. "She was also the town XXXX." Kim then pointed out about Lisa (Not-So Fun Fact: Also giving them the wrong impression in the process too), causing Ramona, Scott and Lisa's shock to emerge. "Kim! I-It's not what you think, Ramona. I just played on on TV." Lisa then sheepishly mentioned, defusing the situation. "Oh, you're an actress?" Ramona then asked. Lisa being an actress reminded her so much of her second ex, Lucas Lee. "Yeah, it was just for some crappy TV show nobody watched." Lisa admitted with embarrassment, or at least, feeling a little embarrassed about her old role.
"You mean that low budget Canadian teen-oriented sci-fi soap opera about witches at High School (Name: Witchwood High)? You were great in it." Kim said while rubbing her friend's hair gently. "I'll say." Scott added with approval. He'd seen that show at one point, but he never though that actress was Lisa until today. "And, she's planning to move to the states and become a star too!" Kim added, proud of how far her friend had come since High School. "I'm happy for you, really. I've heard if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere." Ramona pridefully said, also happy for Lisa's newfound success.
Heck, she wondered if she could ask Lucas to help her out if he could after sparing his life a long while back after their fight. Though a moment later, she had to ask something important to her boyfriend. "So how'd you guys first know Lisa anyway?" She asked, and surprisingly, Scott wasn't hesitant to respond. "Well, long story short I first met her after getting into fight with some bullies." He began, thinking back to his high school days again.
Flashback: (Scott's and Lisa's High School Days)
She was at detention too for some reason.
Outside the principals office, Young Scott Pilgrim (Age: 16 Years Old. Occupation: Transfer Student) was sitting on one of the chairs next to a Young Lisa Miller (Age: Also 16. Status: Being given the recognition she deserves given her absence in the movie and anime), who was also outside the office for some reason. "So what are you in for?" She asked after looking at Scott after a few moments of silence. "I got in a fight...an awesome fight." Young Scott then said boastfully to Young Lisa, who seemed pretty interested in hearing the kid's story. "Did you win?" She asked with interest.
"Uhhhh...not really." Young Scott then admitted in annoyance, and boy...he really wanted to win that fight. "Well, at least you're being honest. Are you new?" Young Lisa then asked Scott with slight enthusiasm. "Yeah." Young Scott admitted with a nod. "Me too. I'm Lisa. Lisa Miller." Young Lisa said, introducing herself to Scott. "Scott Pilgrim." He then said before shaking Lisa's hand. "Well, Scott, How long have you been here?" She then asked him. "About fifteen minutes." Young Scott admitted sheepishly.
Not how he wanted to start his day at high school (And not to mention setting a world record of how long one could go before being thrown into detention), but he just rolled with the punches. "And you already got beat up? You must be totally great. We should be friends." Young Lisa then suggested with a smirk. "Really?" Young Scott asked in surprise, all to which Young Lisa immediately nodded.
After a while, she stuck to me like glue.
A while after meeting Lisa came to visit Scott...although at first, he didn't appreciate her company (Given that he was currently in the middle of a video game).
We always ate together...
Though little by little, especially during a lunch period, Scott actually began to enjoy Lisa being around (Unlike what the comics told)...
Hung together...
And even hanging out together, one particular moment being in an empty parking lot where Lisa performed tricks on a skateboard.
Then one day she suggested we form a band together.
"Wait, so why do you want to start a band anyway? I obviously suck at guitar." Young Scott asked while admitting one of his own flaws. "Come on, Scott. If we had our own band, we could be cool, even if we did suck. We could transcend our class status or whatever and become automatically cool." Young Lisa (Status: Wanting to show that she and Scott aren't losers) explained whilst tuning her electric guitar. "Wait, do we have a class status?" Young Scott then asked in confusion. "Well you know how I'm not a goth and you're not a jock?" Young Lisa then asked, a little bit rhetorical in a way. "I'm such a jock!" Young Scott then complained slightly.
"Anyways, they have these lunchapalooza that everyone goes to. We could be famous! And plus, we do own instruments." Young Lisa pointed out, claiming one of the reasons to form a band. "Ok, but how can we do that if there's only two of us?" Young Scott then asked, a good point (Fun Fact: All bands usually have around 3 or 5 members.) which made Young Lisa think a little. "You're right. Drums would definitely help us." She said in agreement, and given that most bands had drummers in them. But where they'd find a drummer was the real challenge (Not really a challenge given what comes later on).
Pretty much how I also got Kim to join the band too, much like I told you back then.
During a school assembly, Young Scott and Lisa both watched the school band perform, and it's here that Young Scott pointed out Young Kim on drums. It took a little while to convince Young Lisa, but eventually she agreed to have Young Kim in the band...
And believe me, we rocked back then.
And after rescuing her from Simon Lee, Young Kim had joined the band and she was dating Young Scott.
"But after we moved to Toronto, I never saw her again until today..." Scott finished up, even looking away in shame at the thought. Kim also looked away slightly too. "Well, at least you guys met each other for the first time in several years, right?" Hollie (Kim's Co-Worker. Status: Making a positive point) then pointed out with a smile, looking on the bright side of things. "Yep. And this is the first time I've just heard this, but apparently Scott has gotten himself a job." Lisa then pointed out, causing everyone, including a shocked Julie, to look towards Scott in surprise. "Wow, really?" Ramona asked, amazed that Scott actually took her suggestion to heart.
"At The Happy Avocado, Stephen Stills' workplace." Scott replied boldly, though in a more calm manner. "You've gotta be kidding me..." Julie groaned in annoyance before banging her head on the table, feeling like drinking herself to death (Kim's Note: She wouldn't really...but she almost seems convincing.) at hearing Scott's massive amount of luck. "And you didn't think to brag about it?" Ramona then asked with a smirk, the kind that made Scott a little nervous. "I uh, wasn't planning to?" He admitted, thinking that the bragging part was a negative. "Hey uh, where's Knives?" Stephen then asked, noticing Knives' absence.
"Said she had some stuff to do, so she couldn't come." Kim then said, though she was unable to hide a slight blush of embarrassment, which Ramona, unfortunately, noticed. After a while (Not too long after leaving Sneaky Dee's), Scott and Ramona walked back to their different places, but then Ramona suddenly decided to ask him something out of concern. "What was up with Kim back there?" She then asked, catching Scott off guard and making him nervous. "H-How do you mean?" He gently asked, worried about accidently giving away what both Kim and Knives did back at Julie's aunt's place.
"I mean, the way she mentioned how Knives wasn't coming and then just...felt embarrassed. I mean come on, it's not like she kissed a girl or anything, right?" Ramona then brought up, but at the cost of making Scott (Note: Oh my god that was so close!) immediately freak out on the inside, since Ramona was dangerously close to knowing. "Y-Yeah, it was probably a b-b-bad argument or something. I mean, who knows? Besides, it wouldn't be bad if a girl kissed another girl, right?" Scott stuttered nervously, causing Ramona to look at him in suspicion...but then she changed her expression to her usual one.
"I definitely know that from experience." She responded with a slight, yet embarrassed, smirk, the words of which immediately made Scott surprised. "Wait...have you kissed a girl before?" He asked, surprised while slightly shivering at the thought of his girlfriend kissing another girl. "Yeah...pretty much. Man...you're such a loveable dork." Ramona then said before snickering and placing her arm around Scott gently. As they walked back however, Scott couldn't help but somehow see a figure following both him and Ramona from behind, almost threatening like given he had a katana in his hand. Feeling like he was possibly Ramona's fourth evil ex, Scott gently but not suspiciously hurried away from him, trying not to make her worry.
The next evening
In the Studio (It's really just Joseph's bedroom)
Scott, his girlfriend, Kim and unfortunately, Julie, were all in the bedroom while watching Joseph, Stephen and Knives (Status: Playing her Demon Keyboard for the recording.) record one of the songs of Sex Bob-Omb. After a moment, the trio stopped recording. "So how was that, Joseph?" Knives then asked Joseph with excitement. "Alright, but a little awful..." Joseph admitted (Though in fairness, he did see a good verse in their part of the recording), causing both Knives and Stephen to look at each other in concern. "Should uh...we try a second time?" Stephen then asked, a little nervous at best.
"God, this is so super boring. Can we please go now?!" Julie then asked in annoyance, once again being her usual self much to the annoyance of almost everyone. "Can someone tell her to shut up please?" Joseph asked, keeping his fury from bursting out of his chest. "Hey Julie, do us a favor and-" Knives then began, coming out from behind a keyboard before threatening to hit Julie, only for Stephen to stop her gently. "Knives, I'll handle this." He insisted, causing Knives to groaned in annoyance. Stephen (Plan: Hopeing to resolve this peacefully.) then turned to Julie with a warm smile, hoping to defuse the situation.
"Julie, baby..." He began, only for Julie to instantly shut down her own boyfriend. "Don't you even start with me, Stephen!" She yelled, even flipping off at Stephen too. "Well this isn't awkward at all." Ramona grumbled, and Scott couldn't blame her. Julie was about to yell at Ramona, but before she could, Kim (Status: Had enough of her XXXX!) took her drink and threw it in her face. "Julie, do us a favor and shut up." She bluntly said to her. Julie wanted to rage out, but slumped in a huff. "It would be so much better if we were in Sneaky Dee's..." She muttered to herself in annoyance.
"Wait, you'd wanna go there every night or something?" Scott (Status: Also couldn't stand Julie any longer than he normally would.) then asked, a bit annoyed that Julie would want that, given that the food there was pretty bad and mostly because Julie probably wanted to do that to stay relevant to everyone. "Everyone would, Pilgrim. Not's not unusual." Julie hissed at Scott viciously. "But it is typically crappy." Ramona then responded smugly, her words making Kim smile.
Come Monday
At the Toronto Financial District
Scott and Wallace made their way up to the office of their landlord, Peter (In an elevator nicer than their apartment), and boy was Scott worried. "Wallace, you can't seriously make me see him, right?" Scott complained, trying to man up but the feeling of dread and worry was getting the better of him by the mere minute. "Suck it up, buddy. All we've gotta do is give him your money until you become a better person. Actually scrap that, you kind of are a better person when you first started fighting your girlfriend's exes with us." Wallace then pointed out, which helped Scott a little, but not that much in terms of money.
"We both know I don't even have that much money." Scott then admitted, even groaning in annoyance at the mere mention. "Ok, we'll work on that, and it's why we're coming to see him personally. By the way, sorry for waking you up so early." Wallace (Note: Yep, I know when to admit I'm wrong and stuff.) added before apologising for getting Scott up at the crack of dawn. "Remind me why Peter hates us again?" Scott then asked after rubbing his eyes. Sure, he was drowsy, but that didn't stop him from asking that question.
"Not sure. I mean, it isn't our fault we can't afford rent that much, which forces us to come down here every month to charm our way outta the situation, right?" Wallace then said admittingly. "Trust me, if he was one of Ramona's exes, I'd kick his ass and take his money." Scott said, relaxing (And nearly falling asleep) in the corner of the elevator itself before making Wallace pretty annoyed. "Dude, can you be serious for one second?!" He yelled, hitting Scott on the arm within a millisecond. "Ok, ok. Sorry...it's just I like this elevator ride." Scott then chuckled sheepishly, but the second the elevator reached their chosen floor...that chuckle vanished.
Getting out, the two boys then made their way to Peter's office where they soon came face to face with the man himself (Name: Peter. Occupation: Landlord to Scott and Wallace. Not-So Fun Fact: He's kind of a scary guy.), a man possibly in his late 50s. "Mr. Wells, Mr. Pilgrim. Always a pleasure to see you boys here as always. So do tell me, how can I help you this morning?" Peter asked Scott and Wallace, the tone of his voice making him sound very ominous, and to Scott, it almost felt like he was facing the Devil himself. "Well um...it's about-" Wallace (Emotion: Scared, almost to death in fact) began, only to get cut off by Peter within seconds.
"It was a rhetorical question. I'll just get right to the point." He said, silencing Wallace to the latter's worries. "I would appear that the landlord-tenant relationship we share has been, as I'd say, strained. Wouldn't you think so?" Peter then continued sternly, his tone ever so intimidating. "Y-Yes sir." Wallace nervously responded, all while Scott boldly tried to keep him calm. "So then, you boys are all caught up on your rent." Peter then revealed. Scott and Wallace were both confused until Wallace immediately remembered something that he forgot about their place's rent.
"Wait a minute, does this have something to do with-?" He began, only for Peter to once again cut him off after bringing out a file. "That one-year lease that started last September because you paid first-and-last up front? Yes, that's what I mean." He confirmed gently. "Huh...I think I nearly forgot about that to be honest (Not-So Fun Fact: He nearly did)." Wallace admitted sheepishly. "Wait, so our lease is up?" Scott then asked in surprise. "Indeed it is, Mr. Pilgrim. So long story short, it's month to month if you want to stay as per our contract, but if you're leaving, well...I'd suggest you be out by the 27th and no later." Peter explained to Scott, though the mention of the 27th immediately sparked something within Scott.
"Wait, on my birthday?! Aw man, why can't it be on the 28th or something?!" He complained, confusing Peter and scaring Wallace a little (In short: Almost making the entire situation worse for both men). "Your birthday is on the 27th of August?" Peter then asked with an arched eyebrow, resulting in a moment of very awkward silence. "Alright, you can both leave now..." Peter eventually said bluntly.
After exiting the building
Scott and Wallace then went their separate ways, Wallace to his place of work, and Scott to his new (And probably first REAL) workplace, The Happy Avocado. For the next three days, it was always the same, go to work for like a million hours, as Scott would put it, go to the Studio to see how the album was coming on, head to Sneaky Dee's as usual, and then come home for sleep and whatever. During that time, Kim had decided to move her drum set to her apartment (Kim's Note: No point in moving them back and forth from Stephen's place and my new place.) with Hollie and Joseph, even to help record their album too.
That along with Ramona and Lisa getting along together, Scott washing dishes whilst also learning how Stephen managed to prep the food for the customers, then having returning home to find a handful of Wallace's friends from the office one night, the moment of which caused Ramona to not sleep at his place that night. Still, but while all this was happening and nothing else...Scott couldn't help but feel like something was about to go down afterwards...
On Thursday Night...
Scott (Status: Exhausted after hours of work) made his way back to his and Wallace's Apartment after being exhausted from working, and he just wanted to hit the hay. On the way back however, Scott heard something fly by him. He turned around but couldn't see anything. "H-Hello…? Who's there?" He asked, but got no response. But before he could turn and continue his way back home, a shadow zoomed in to hit him, though luckily Scott, despite exclaiming, dodged it in time. "Ok, whoever you are, I'm totally not in the mood for this! It's late, and it's hot, and I have a job!" He yelled. Seconds later, the shadow attacked him again.
"Come on, I had a hard day at work! Can't you fight me in the morning or the day after like at noon?!" Scott asked the shadow in annoyance, only for it to ignore his response and zoom towards him yet again, enraging the Canadian fighter. "Ok, that does it!" He growled, just as the shadow came in to attack again. Luckily though, Scott dodged it and punched said shadow, which revealed the attacker, who landed behind him. He saw the figure, revealed to be a short and slightly chubby blonde girl with a twin-bun hairstyle, trying to get to her feet, but fell to the ground after being punched by Scott.
"Ok, talk. Who the hell are you and why are you attacking me?!" Scott (Fighting Status: Through the roof due to drowziness.) demanded firmly, pretty annoyed by his attacker. "You punched me in the boob!" The girl growled from behind her red oni mask, and the mention of what Scott did made him whimper, sounding like he had died on the inside, all because he had unintentionally hit this woman in the boob, not to mention he'd also gone back on the one rule he never wanted to break. "God, whatever. I was just toying with you, obviously. But since you punched me, prepare to die!" The girl then growled as she attempted to unsheathe a weapon.
"Hang on, do we know each other…? My memory's a bit hazy." Scott asked in confusion to the annoyance of his opponent. "Funny coming from you, Scott, because everyone always remembers you, don't they?" She spat at him venomously. And she was about to attack him with what looked to be a katana, only for Scott to cut her off. "Uh…well can we not fight right now? I'm tired." Scott asked, beginning to get annoyed at this craziness. "Sorry, darlin', but I cashed my last rain check." The woman (Occupation: Possibly a ninja. Reason for wanting Scott Dead: Unknown...apart from being punched in the boob) sneered as she prepared to run her katana through her foe once again.
"I said I'm tired. And plus, there's people sleeping. Probably." Scott then pointed out, even gesturing towards some of the houses over the fences. The woman looked towards them and then groaned in annoyance. "Ok then, XXXXX. I'll see you later, but you won't see me, because next time…I'll be deadly serious next time." She said while sheathing her katana. "Uh, what…?" Scott asked in confusion. "N-Nothing! Nevermind!" And with that said, the woman disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving behind a single log with a leaf on it. "W-What?" Scott asked in confusion.
Upon getting back
Scott opened the door to their apartment and turned on the light...only to witness something he never expected from Wallace, even causing him to scream in fright too. "TURN OFF THE LIGHT!" Wallace exclaimed, and Scott did exactly that, plunging the room into darkness once more as he closed the door. "Sorry, sorry! I take it you just saw Mobile's XXXX. And we both apologise for that." Wallace then said sheepishly. It took a while (Around 20 minutes give or take) for Scott to get over his shock, but eventually, after a cup of coco, he was finally able to speak again, though not before he tried to call Ramona on the apartment phone.
"Hey Scott...?" Wallace asked (Though more of on the lines of on a different topic now) after Scott hung up the phone. "Yeah?" Scott then asked out of exhaustion. "We need to talk, about this place I mean." Wallace then said on a more serious note. "What about it?" Scott responded, not in the mood for hearing about their landlord after today. "Do you like it? I mean, pretty much? Sure, it's not exactly the best (Including the mice and the scary bathroom)...and I can kinda snore like a jackhammer, but...do you think the place is good?" Wallace then asked, even admitting a few things wrong with the place. However, Scott seemed a bit distracted in a way.
"Hey, did something happen? You look like you fought a ninja or something." Hearing this from his own roommate Scott gently looked up to face Wallace. "You don't even know the half of it...I just tried to warn Ramona about her, but the line's busy." Scott admitted, exhaustion filling his words. "We'll deal with that later...right now, just hear me out." Wallace then said, needing to tell Scott something important about their place, and Scott listened. "Have you ever thought about moving in with Ramona? I mean, assuming you can't afford your own place." This was a good question (And a good point), even coming from Wallace too. Scott had always been to Ramona's place countless times and it was pretty good, though not once did he think of the idea to move in with his girlfriend.
"Never occurred to me to be honest. I might think about it and talk to her." Scott then admitted with enough thought for the brain, specifically his own brain. "You know I'll stay if you want me to. Just be sure to let me know by the 27th, of August I mean." Wallace then sincerely (Which is usually on a rare occasion or something.) said to Scott, not in a loving way, but more along the lines of being his best buddy. "Well how do I know you won't just sign a lease on a place with your boyfriend and screw me over?" Scott asked, feeling slightly weary of those words. "Good point, that definitely sounds like me." Wallace then admitted sheepishly.
"Look, just think about your options and then let me know, ok guy?" He then said to Scott.
The next four days...
Things were a bit of a blur, Ramona stayed home after being warned about the ninja (The Blonde Ninja) by Scott, Sex Bob-Omb's album was doing fairly poor for just one day, Scott saw the guy with the samurai sword the odd time stalking him (Yet again like usual) whilst he was alone and even nearly slicing him one night, but there was the absence of Julie, which Scott felt was relieving for both him and everyone else. Though Lisa, as he noticed, couldn't help but get close to Scott, the kind of closeness that made him believe that she was trying to get with him...which he passed off as her being drunk (Scott's Note: I hate myself for thinking that.) for the time being.
On a Monday
At the Happy Avocado
Scott was currently washing up all the dishes and whatever whilst Stephen was busy chopping up food to prepare a vegan chilli that a customer had ordered. All the while, Scott couldn't help but think about the ninja, that strange samurai figure and moving in with Ramona, so much in fact that he had to talk with Stephen about it. "You know you could move in with her, right Scott? I mean, how hard can it be?" Stephen pointed out, and it wasn't really a big deal to be made out of, but to Scott though... "Easier said than done for me, Stephen!" He exclaimed, nearly dropping one of the plates in panic.
"Yeah, I get that this your first real place with your girlfriend, but sometimes these fears are only temporary. I know from experience." Stephen (Fun Fact: He's been in Scott's shoes before, so he definitely knows it.) then pointed out to Scott gently, it didn't help him that much in a way, but Scott felt a little bit better being told. "Anyways, what was going on when you complained about a guy with a sword stalking you and our friends the past fortnight? He's not one of your girlfriend's exes is he?" Stephen then asked, recalling that Scott had complained about seeing a figure with a samurai sword.
"I...I don't know. He looked a bit too old (Scott's Note: And I'm pretty sure he is...) to be that, but if he is...you know, I thought he would be younger than that." Scott admitted sheepishly. "Well, I can't say I know for sure...but I think one time, I saw him bring his whole family here." Stephen then brought up to Scott's surprise. "And last time you checked, did they all have weapons like he does?" The latter asked, feeling like Stephen knew all about this. "Look. All I know is that he came up to the window one time and thanked me personally in another language." Stephen then exclaimed, annoyed that Scott was bringing this up during work hours.
Going back to work, Scott thought hard about how he was going to deal with this guy and Ramona's next evil ex when he showed his face to him. "You know, if he does turn out to be Ramona's fourth ex, why don't you fight him, Scott?" Stephen then asked as he placed the finished order through the service window to one of his co-workers to serve. "Well I obviously don't have a sword (He actually doesn't. Side Quest: Get a sword!), Stephen. If I did, it would be a lot easier." Scott pointed out. Of course he didn't...Stephen knew Scott didn't own a sword. He was about to head back over to his worktop, but all of a sudden, a voice caught his attention.
Walking back towards the service window, Stephen was met by someone yelling at him, her voice sounding very familiar, scarily familiar to Scott in fact, all before Stephen turned towards Scott with an awkward expression. "Hey uh…Scott, some crazy blonde girl with a katana is out here's looking for you." He then said to Scott awkwardly as he gestured to the window with his thumb. As Scott made his way towards the service window, Stephen's words immediately made him freeze into place (Fear Levels: Through the roof!), even hiding behind the wall next to the window in fact.
"C-Crazy Girl? Does she have pigtails and is she slightly chubby?" Scott asked gently, going pale over his own thoughts. Looking back briefly, Stephen analysed the details about the girl (Very carefully) and then looked back at Scott. "Yeah, pretty much. Why?" He then asked in confusion. "Does she also have a red mask too?" Scott then asked again, prompting Stephen to briefly look at the girl again. "That too. Wanna tell me what happened between you two?" He then asked, almost sounding demanding. Scott's fears were confirmed and his mind was racing ahead (A personal understatement).
"Oh XXXX. Look, just tell her I'm not in. Maybe she'll go away, then I'll-" As he frantically spoke in hoped that he wouldn't get fired from this, Stephen awkwardly cut him off. "Um Scott…you know she can actually hear you, right?" He pointed out awkwardly. Before Scott could even respond, he was instantly yanked by his shirt (His favourite one at best) from the service window and brutally pulled into the main service area where he landed hardly on the floor. Opening his eyes, Scott then saw the same blonde ninja girl from the other night, glaring at him intensely.
"Told you you wouldn't see me coming, Pilgrim. Now prepare to die!" She spoke viciously before attempting to slice Scott's head off with her Katana, only for a titanium bat (+1 Against Blondes) to block her weapon. "Roxie, stop!" Ramona's (Status: Here to defend Scott from the Ninja) suddenly spoke before she appeared to Scott's left, intervening between both him and the woman before they could fight. "R-Ramona…?" Scott asked as his girlfriend helped him to his feet, oblivious to the fact, along with the other girl, that everyone in the restaurant was shocked by this turn of events.
"Stephen, your friend is sooo fired." Dominique (Note: This is not the day to be picking a fight, especially for newbies.) then said to Stephen with annoyance, all while believing that Scott was the one who was actually causing the ruckus. "Actually Dee, that blonde ninja over there yanked Scott through the service window. So he didn't do anything wrong." Stephen immediately revealed, trying to save Scott from getting fired, and it definitely worked. "Roxie, what the hell did you do that for?! You couldn't have picked a better time." Ramona said to the girl, called Roxie, in annoyance, even calling her out for disrupting Scott during work.
"Ok…this is definitely unexpected." Scott said to himself awkwardly aloud, seeing both Ramona and Roxie knowing each other (Scott's Note: Did Ramona's fourth ex send a girl to do his dirty work? What an XXX!). "Well you better get better at expecting, Pilgrim." Roxie then hissed at Scott while glancing his way. "S-So, you two know each other?" Scott asked, looking back and forth between Ramona and Roxie in confusion. "We were college roommates." Ramona revealed awkwardly, but not quietly enough since Roxie overheard the two. "And more!" She yelled, snarling in annoyance. "And more…" Ramona again said awkwardly.
"Well did she happen to mention that she literally attacked me in the middle of the night after work?!" Scott complained, even pointing towards Roxie accusingly, offending her at best. "Say the XXXX who punched me in the boob." She spat back to Ramona's shock. Hearing this, Ramona looked towards Scott, who shook his head. "I-I didn't even know she was a girl at the time, I swear Rammy. Circumstances beyond my control (Not-So Fun Fact: They actually were.)." He managed to say while also holding his hands up in his own defence. Ramona, on the other hand, just sighed with a smirk.
"Well, all things considered, I figured she'd have to come soon enough, even if you didn't do that much of a good job describing her on the phone." She said, of course she'd known, but the fact that it was suddenly out of nowhere wasn't as obvious at first, but the mention of Roxie's Blonde Hair gave it away ultimately. "Ok, well then why did she try to kill me? Does she have something to do with one of your evil ex-boyfriends or did he send her to fight me instead?" Scott then asked. At first he assumed that figure with the Katana sent Roxie in his place, but it was really the words that came next which told him otherwise.
"Um, Evil Exes Scott..." Ramona sheepishly responded, almost like she didn't know how to tell him. "Hang on, why do you keep saying it like that? Exes I mean?" Scott asked in confusion (Confusion levels: Maxed out). "Wait, you mean to say that he doesn't know, Rammy?" Roxie then asked, snickering mockingly at the fact that Scott didn't even know the truth. "W-What is she on about, Rammy? I'm not getting it." Scott asked Ramona, somewhat desperate for an answer. "He really doesn't know?!" Roxie snickered (Roxie's Note: Wow, this guy really IS stupid, isn't he?) once again.
"Scott…I don't know how to tell you this, but…" Ramona began, only to stop when the question mark residing within Scott's own brain quickly turned into an exclamation mark (And making a sound effect from Metal Gear Solid). Confusion turning to realization, Scott finally realised what and who Roxie was. "W-Wait! You and her?!" He exclaimed, unable to comprehend the fact that that the girl who attacked him was actually one of Ramona's ex-boyfriends, or rather, exes. "I-It was just a phase. I-I didn't think it would mean anything." Ramona said to Scott, though while trying to reassure him, angering Roxie in the process.
"Y-You had a sexy phase?!" Scott exclaimed, his face turning red with shock and panic. "Just a phase?!" Roxie exclaimed with her own rage towards both Ramona and Scott. "But yeah, my fourth ex is actually a girl." Ramona then admitted, almost in shame. "S-So that means you're…?!" He then realized as he turned towards Roxie. "You guessed it! The name's Richter. Roxie Richter! Ramona's fourth evil ex-boyfriend! And I'm not a boy, obviously! So here I am, Rox you like a Hurricane!" Roxie (Roxie Richter. Ramona's Fourth Evil Ex. Gender: Female. Occupation: Blonde Half-Ninja. Weapon: Katana.) said, unsheathing her katana and scraping the floor in the process before pointing it towards Scott and Ramona.
"Yeah, ok another thing. Why are you even-?" Ramona began, only to get cut off when Roxie playfully shushed her four times in a row. "I'm here for us, Ramona. Fourth in line to win your heart, because I have something this XXXXX will never have." Roxie said, smirking behind her red oni mask with so much pride. "And what's that exactly?" Scott asked, pretty offended by her words and the fact that she boasted about being better than him. "Emotional intelligence." Roxie said…though her words confused just about everyone in the restaurant, who continued watching what was going on.
"Did she literally just say…?" Stephen began awkwardly to Dominique before she immediately responded back to him. "I think she might have." She said gently, all while rolling her eyes in annoyance. "Sounds lame…" Crystal added in agreement. Upon hearing those words, Roxie (Status: Offended by criticism.) suddenly became shocked. "What? It's true. None of those other three XXXXXXX, let alone this one right here, know how to talk about their feelings like me." She said in her own defence. "You might be right about that, but you forgot to mention that when it comes to feelings, you were just as clueless as Matthew and Todd." Ramona pointed out, annoyed at Roxie while at the same time, shocking her yet again.
"What?! That is so unfair! You're still just as impossible to talk to, Ramona! You always have been!" Roxie exclaimed in anger, calling out her ex for exactly what she claimed. All the while, Scott became pretty worried about the escalating situation. "Right...so, I take it I have to talk to her for this fight?" He sheepishly asked Ramona, sure he felt scared, but it didn't stop him from asking how to deal with Roxie right now. "You know what, no…I've got a better idea, Pilgrim. Let's FIGHT about 'em!" Roxie yelled as she pointed her katana towards Scott in an instant.
ROXIE RICHTER
VS.
SCOTT PILGRIM AND RAMONA FLOWERS
ROUND 2 (After the first encounter)
FIGHT!
Scott yelped in panic at this, and Ramona groaned in annoyance, but they were suddenly interrupted by Dominique within a second. "Hey! No fighting in here. Take it outside!" She immediately said before Roxie had a chance to charge towards his two foes. "Don't worry. I intend to." Ramona said reassuringly, all while Scott semi boldly came out from behind his girlfriend to face Roxie...but there was a problem. "I know we've gotta fight her and all, Rammy but...I don't have a sword." He pointed out, and much and all as it was true, Ramona rolled her eyes and then opened up her subspace bag.
"Ok, get in you dork." She said to him, allowing her boyfriend to climb into her bag. "Normally I'd say this is weird, but given the circumstances...I can overlook them." Scott sheepishly said with a nervous chuckle, the kind that made Roxie annoyed. "Are you kidding me?! You're seriously gonna take his side, Ramona?! I'm not the bad guy here, I'm just trying to kill him to be with you! What's wrong with that?!" She complained within a second (More like four seconds at best). "Roxie, back off, he doesn't have a sword yet." Ramona said while pointing her bat at her ex. "Wait, yet?" Scott sheepishly asked in confusion. "Let's just take this outside!" Ramona then said before she skated out of the Happy Avocado with Roxie following her close behind.
Outside on the streets
Roxie perused her ex, weaving in and out of traffic and even narrowly avoiding a streetcar (Which she proceeded to jump over like a boss). She rushed towards Ramona, hoping to slice through her, only to be met with a smack in the face by the Titanium Bat she carried, causing her red mask to come loose and giving her ex a head injury in the process. "Ramona, you XXXXX!" The blonde ninja (Roxie's Note: That's HALF-Ninja!) snarled as Ramona skated away from her and, after a few blocks, towards a subspace door between two stores.
"Hang on, Scott. We're going in!" Ramona said, making a mad skate towards the door, but at a very fast pace that was concerning to Scott. "Wait, aren't we going a little too fast?! How are you gonna-?!" Before he could finish, the subspace door opened all on it's own (Scott's Note: Did a ghost open it up or is that just me...?), and Ramona never even had to even touch the handle as they flew into what looked to be a partially snowy forest. "...Open it?" He finished, concern turning to confusion within seconds. "Don't worry, dude. I've got a sub-tract card, for handsfree entry." Ramona explained, even holding up a card saying just that as proof.
"You've really gotta tell me how subspace works eventually, because man it sounds so cool." Scott then said, amazed (Status: And wanting to know more about America than ever) by how handy it was to get into subspace without even touching the door. Before Ramona could respond however, Roxie suddenly appeared out of nowhere and barged right into her and knocked her to the ground in so much pain, even knocking her subspace bag (With Scott still inside) off her in the process. "Oh come on! That was dirty!" Ramona growled as she tightened her grip on her bat.
"You had that coming for so long, Ramona!" Roxie sneered smugly towards her ex, her eyes glowing red with fury and locked onto Ramona herself. "Oh man, she can access subspace too?! How?!" Scott exclaimed in panic as he got out of Ramona's bag, wondering just how in the hell Roxie managed to get into Subspace. "How do you think, XXXXX? I taught your girlfriend everything she knows, that plus I'm a blonde half-ninja too." Roxie boasted, and now Scott (Note: Ok, that actually might make a lot of sense there...) knew where Ramona got her skills from, as he thought.
"And in any case, allow me to show you four or more or beat her XXX, Scott!" Ramona then said, getting into a defensive pose before Roxie charged for her ex once again, this time with the intent to slice through her ex. The two fought tirelessly, landing clash after clash until Ramona eventually smacked Roxie on the top of her head, smacked her in the stomach and even kicked her in the face with her roller-skate too. "Ha! Looks like you're not as good of a ninja after all!" Scott then yelled from the side lines, angering Roxie in the process. "Half-Ninja, you XXXXX!" And within a second, Roxie teleported and left behind a log.
The next thing that happened was Roxie appearing behind Ramona, but having duplicated herself into four different copies, all of which surrounded both her and Scott. Seconds later (Specifically, four seconds later) they all charged towards the two and attacking them, eventually the three clones fighting Ramona wore her down before attacking Scott almost immediately. This left the original Roxie to fight Ramona, pouncing on her and brutally hitting her, though despite Ramona's resilience, Roxie seemed to have the upper hand in the fight, especially after destroying Ramona's titanium bat.
However, at the last second, Ramona's Large Hammer (Used by Scott. Scott's Note: How heavy is this damn thing?!) smacked into Roxie's face, sending her flying to the ground in pain, even knocking her oni mask and katana a couple of feet away. "Ha! See how you like that!" Scott yelled triumphantly...or at least until he dropped his girlfriend's hammer when his arms finally gave out. He would've fought her whilst she was unarmed, but Ramona immediately stopped him. "Roxie, enough! I don't want to keep fighting you!" She finally exclaimed as Scott helped her to her feet and looked towards Roxie with a firm glare.
"So then what, eh...? Gonna run away? Like you did back then?" Roxie asked, her words immediately sparked seeds of doubt in Ramona's mind, who was taken back by this. "W-What's she talking about Ramona?" Scott asked in concern as he looked at Ramona. "That's right, you don't even know the truth Pilgrim..." Roxie growled while getting to her feet in so much pain, and Ramona...just froze sadly. "I'm still trying to win her heart, but she prefers you over some girl who had her back since college. I was probably never good enough for you, was I Ramona?" Roxie asked, a question that pierced his ex's heart.
"Roxie...I-" Ramona began, only for Roxie to raise her hand to say stop (Scott's Note: Man...that's pretty cold of her). "Save it...you already did enough damage to me back then..." The bitter words leaving her mouth, Roxie then put her oni mask back on, got her sword and left Subspace on a bitter note, even slamming the door behind her on the way out. Scott and Ramona (Emotions: Sad and confused at best.) just stood there, unable to speak for moments...or at least until Scott spoke up. "So...that's it?" He asked while looking towards his girlfriend. "Y-Yeah..." Ramona said, her head glowing as she bared a sad look on her face.
"Hey, are you alr-" Before Scott could finish, he was cut off by Ramona. "I'm fine...let's just...get outta here." She said before the two headed towards the subspace door to leave.
Damn...that was definitely sad, especially for me too.
But nevertheless, the fight isn't over yet. So how will Scott defeat Roxie with this emotional problem you might ask?
Well tune in next time to find out
