Reunion of the Thirds
Johnny Worthington III was starting his first day in prison. "I hope you like your accommodations." A guard commented with a sneer. "You'll be living here for a long time."
"My lawyers will get me out of here in no time." Johnny replied.
"Your cellmate said the same thing." The guard said.
"Cellmate?" Johnny asked, unaware that he wasn't his cell's only occupant.
"Hello, Johnny." The cellmate said.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhh, Henry Waternoose!" Johnny screamed in terror.
"I'm glad to know I still can scare." Henry J. Waternoose said with pride. "Perhaps I should have returned to the field instead of using Randall's scream extractor."
"Don't you dare mention the scream extractor in my presence." Johnny ordered.
"Would you rather get caught at the explosion that mixing scream power and laugh power would have caused, Johnny?" Waternoose asked, shocking Johnny. "That's right, Henry IV told me about the whole thing. How dare you steal power from my company?"
"Monsters, Inc. stopped being yours after you got caught abducting human children, Waternoose." Johnny pointed out.
"Monsters, Inc. has been in my family for more generations than Fear Co. has been in yours, Johnny." Waternoose bragged. "And if you had no better idea than to steal from a competitor, you should have given up. At least I didn't resort to corporate sabotage. My only regret other than trusting Randall was not realizing kids' laughter could generate more power than their screams."
"True, trusting Boggs was a bad idea considering he likely knew about the dangers of mixing both energies but would you really break tradition and adopt laugh power?" Johnny asked.
"Like you're one to talk." Waternoose pointed out. "You used too much laugh power for someone who publicly defends tradition. What were your plan for after Monsters, Inc. went out of business? Have Randall steal scream energy from Scream Industries and Scare Masters? Use the scream extractor like I once tried to? Secretly hire jokesters and pass their work as scream energy?"
"Waternoose, those ideas have potential but my ultimate plan was to hire Monsters, Inc. scarers like Benitez and Sullivan." Johnny commented.
"Honestly, I wouldn't try to discredit laugh power unless it somehow helped me to regain my freedom and my position at Monsters, Inc." Waternoose said and then had an idea. "Why not?"

Author's Note: This fic was partly inspired by what I read at TvTropes about the idea of hiring Kelsey Grammer to voice Waternoose at Monsters University. The very thought of Waternoose sounding like Sideshow Bob amazes me.
