A/N Lizardmen Arc: Nazerick Daze
Alt title: Preventing the Attack on Carne
.
.
Guest: The issue with that, is the group of Adventurer's only saw Shalltear's true form. And most summoned vampires are not a high enough level to look like that.
Aren Gisly: What lost the messages?
Church21: Thank you! And yeah, 90% of people don't like Tsukune. Oh well, my story I have plans for him.
.
Fun fact that was missed in the anime. The lizardmen arc, the attack on Carne village by the monsters, the men of the kingdom. All happen around the same time. With the Invaders of the great tomb happening later.
So yes, the first part of season 3, happens before the third part of season 2, around the time Nazerick is dealing with assimilating the lizardmen and much before Jaldabaoth's attack on the capital even.
If it were chronological, it would go, Lizardmen, Attack on Carne, Sebas finding Tuare, Jaldabaoth, Invaders.
Not.
Lizardmen, Sebas finding Tuare, Jaldabaoth, Invaders, Attack on Carne.

-Nazerick Throne Room-
.
.
James "Zamaina" Petrosky POV
.
Standing beside Momonga on his throne as he finishes giving his orders to Cocytus. The latter standing proudly as he turns and leaves. Ready to accomplish his task and achieve his first victory in this world in our name.
"So about this, lizardman experiment." I say after Cocytus and the rest head off, leaving me and Momonga alongside Albedo.
"Hmm?" Momonga asks as he rises from his throne. "What of it?"
"You already know how this will end, right?" I question as I mule over the specs of the army he gifted to Cocytus. "If the Lizardmen do manage to band together."
It's a, decent army. If you're tactful and plan ahead to account for the terrain and lack of commanders at your disposal. Personally I'd use Guerilla tactics at night and attack just enough to get them to wake everyone up. Then retreat, and repeat. After about a week of that, I attack during the day, caught off guard and likely tired as well as stressed. They'd be easy to whittle down. Hell, I'd retreat again, just to pull a pincher maneuver and surround them. Tired, stressed, surrounded. Dead.
…
I like strategy games.
"Then they will prove to be an apt learning experience for us." Momonga says, and I hear Albedo's breath hitch. No doubt likely turning the gears in her head.
"I suppose." I say, preparing this for the gossip mill that is Nazerick and its NPC's. "If they can't put their differences aside, then there's not much worth to them outside their bodies."
He doesn't get it. And I'm not expecting him to. But, he will
[Um, dude, you lost me.] Momonga messages.
[You know Cocytus is going to Leroy Jenkins the shit out of the fight.] I message him.
[Well, yeah but, he could also learn!] Momonga defends. [If the NPC's can learn new skills then just imagine what all is possible!]
[And you decided a war is the best way to test that, as opposed to say, learning the piano?] I tease, mostly in jest.
I'm not actually upset in any way here. If anything, I'm bemused. He wants to see if they can learn new skills, and went for wartime commander. As opposed to something simple in concept like painting, archery, or learning poetry.
[I did.] He defends. [I asked the maids to make me a steak themselves. And every time it ended up burnt. If they don't have a skill for something, they can't do it.]
[So, rather than have someone like Sous Chef try to teach them, you're throwing Cocytus into a genocide?] I question.
There's a notable as we stare at each other. And I raise a brow expectantly.
[Two birds one stone?] He tries.
[Fair enough.] I message before chuckling and ending the message. "If you need me, I'll be attending the prisoner."
"You mean the one giving information so freely?" Momonga asks.
"Yep." I say as I walk down the steps. "Something about how easily she's cracking is rubbing me the wrong way."
She's just giving the info with little to no prompting. Either she's hoping to deceive us with false info and force us into a mistake, or she's planning something.

Lysithea "Ninya" Veyron POV
.
"And here is the great library." The other vampire, Shalltear I believe her name is, says as she gestures to a large set of double doors.
Shalltear is, she would appear to be around my age, maybe a little younger. If not for her, assets. If it weren't for the large, chest of the girl. Then I'd assume she'd might even be younger than I am.
"Ordinarily one such as I would simply teleport in, but you don't have a ring to follow me. And I've been told to show you through the doors so that you may meet the librarians on duty." She says with an air of arrogance I've only ever heard matched in nobles when addressing peasants or lower regarded servants.
Looking to the doors themselves, I feel my breath catch in my throat.
The doors are, like everything in this realm, a thing of legend. Dark, carved wood with marble inlays. So perfectly melded with the wood, if I didn't know better I'd assume they were grown from the wood they are set into. From top to bottom, the large archway doors depict buildings of books and scrolls all intertwining. Leading and melding into the large handles of the doors made to look like golden scrolls being unrolled.
I feel as though I could stare at them for hours and still not see all there is on them. The carvings and depictions. On one spot is an image of a stone building being set ablaze, the fire going up and melding into a bush that cradles a tablet.
"Enough dawdling." The girl around my age says as she opens the doors, giving them a gentle nudge that causes them to swing open despite the weight their size implies.
I am once again brought from my thoughts and forced to reevaluate my understandings of the world. And just what exactly is possible. Since being here, I walked through hell, found my dead killer and tortured her the way she tortured me and my friends. Found doors that open into walls, spots where sound just, doesn't travel beyond the invisible room it's confined to. Lived in a room where the outside sun never sets. And now here before me, is a room so large I fail to see where the walls are.
Makes sense that I had to die to get here.
Massive shelves of books stretch to the ceiling. Floating lights of a soft blue color patrolling about. A spiral, ornate staircase down the center aisle of where we entered. Leading to nothing as it sits in the middle of the red carpeted library. Ornate yet functional tables and desks lining the center aisle.
"Come now, I've not got all day you know." The girl says as she pulls me by my wrist with a staggering level of strength, bringing me to a desk with a red hooded individual.
"Ah, My dear lady Shalltear, to what purpose doth your presence inquire?" He asks in a smooth, scholarly voice as he looks up to reveal a bone white skull, looking to be an odd mix of deer and human, with forward facing bull horns poking out from under his hood. Red dots in place of eyes resting in the sockets. "And I do apologize dearly, for I know not of your companion. Not another of your betrothed, that is clear to me."
'Her betrothed!?' I think to myself as I look to the girl who couldn't be too much older than me.
I know nobles marry young to secure alliances. But, I guess this would be the first I've seen it. And guess that confirms she is a noble, of sorts at least.
'Wait, one of her betrothed?' I think with a rising blush. 'Wait why would I be one of them!?'
"Head Librarian Titus Annaeus Secundus." Shalltear says with a small bow. "This is Lord Zamaina's pet, well she was a human. Anyhow she's here for tutoring in arcane magic."
"What did you just call me?" I ask as I, really hope I misheard that.
"I see." The skeletal librarian says as he looks over the edge of his desk. "Am I to instruct her to read our scripts? Or is it my obligation to guide personally?"
"I know not, I was merely told to bring her here." She says haughtily as she ignores me. "Now that my task is complete, I shall be taking my leave."
She turns on her heels and leaves. Soft clicks echoing throughout the large romm with each of her steps. The large doors closing behind her with an echoing clack.
"She's, arrogant." I say with a frown, finding her personality to be all too familiar.
"Perfection in any form breeds pride." The skeletal being says, Titus I think he was just called.
"What?" I ask, turning back to the, to Titus.
It's so weird. I find his appearance, distressing. But at the same time I don't. Like there's a small part of me that recognizes he's scary. But a larger part, the newer part, says I have nothing to fear.
"That my dear fledgling, was Shalltear Bloodfallen, Guardian of the First and Second Floors. Her strength is nearly unrivaled. Save for the Supreme Beings of course." He says cordially as he stands from his chair and moves around the desk. Revealing himself to be not much taller than me. "By mine own reckoning, I'd believe there to be a mere two others who rival or surpass her prowess. Tsukune and Rubedo of the eight floor."
"Wait, that girl was one of the floor guardians?" I ask as I look to the doors where she left.
If that's true, then she's the equivalent of a demigod in power. One of the strongest personal creations of the Supreme Beings. All wrapped up in a busty, unassuming teen.
'Well, she's a vampire, so she could be centuries older than me.' I think as I come to terms with myself and the creature that was just beside me.
"A contradicting sight she is, I'm aware." Titus chuckles somewhat morosely at my surprise. "But enough of that, shall we continue with your purpose of visit?"
'That's right!' I think to myself as I turn back to the librarian. 'I'm here to learn as much magic as I can.'
"Um, I guess." I say nervously as my attention is brought back to the dauntingly large library.
"You guess?" The librarian tilts his head. "Of what is there to question? Are you to begin, or is there more preparations you must undergo?"
"What?" I ask absentmindedly before his words sink in. "Oh! Um, no. I'm, ready. I just, where do I start?" I ask as I look around worryingly. "There's, so much."
"Your hesitation is understandable." The librarian says as he turns around and heads down the center aisle. "But mayhaps, with some conversation we shall narrow down your interest, yes?"
"I, suppose." I agree uncertainly as I follow the man, noticing that his feet are hooves rather than, well feet.
"You are quite the conflicted caster." Titus says as he goes to the spiral staircase and begins ascending. "I imagine you've not always been the way you are."
"Y-yes." I say as I walk up the stairs after him. "How'd you know?"
We get to a spot about ten feet up where the railing is, oddly missing. And I call out in surprise as Titus keeps walking. And, walking on a walkway of dark wooden planks that appear under his feet. The grooves of the wood under his hooves glowing a soft blue. As all around, the air remains. Only his steps show the flooring.
Titus turns around to me, hands behind his back as he tilts his head in question.
"Well? Are you to follow, or not?" He asks simply in a kind and lighthearted voice, finding my astonishment amusing.
'This makes no sense.' I think to myself. 'Illusions cost mana, I sense no mana on the floor! There's nothing! And besides, illusions aren't permanent. I doubt they cast a high level illusion on the floor just for me.'
I, need to stop questioning these things. But I can't help it! This goes against what I know of magic as a whole!
"Um, right." I nod, swallowing the lump in my throat, I close my eyes and step forward.
Feeling my feet touch the ground. I open my eyes to see Titus still before me, held tilted curiously and though his face is bare of any flesh. I imagine he'd be smiling at my expense if he could.
"What, is this?" I ask as I walk forward, seeing the floor appear beneath my feet where everywhere else is clear.
"It is the great library." Titus says, as though that answers everything, before he turns around and heads down one of the aisles. Prompting me to follow. "The great vault of secrets both told and not. The forty one Supreme Beings built this magnificent reliquary of knowledge. Knowledge lost to ages, and knowledge yet to be discovered. All are found here."
As we walk further in, I see just how truly massive this place is. Rows upon rows of bookshelves. I, don't think I could ever read all of this if I tried. Even with my newfound unlife.
"Wh-how is, I don't." I try to voice my thoughts. "How do you manage all of this?"
"I am not alone." He says easily as we take a right, and head towards another spiral staircase. This one's railing being more, wavy and smooth. Like flowing water, artistically forged into a sleek purple metal with a blue shine.
Titus steps onto the staircase, and I follow after as he descends.
"Wait, why did we walk all this way and take the stairs? When we could've just walked normally?" I ask as we descend.
"Because then I'd not be treated to the moment of your grand revelation." He says as we find ourselves on the ground floor and come to a gated area. "Here we are, the room of magic."
I want to say something. Speak up over the fact he took the long way around, just to see my reaction at the concealed floor.
But I'm too caught up in the sight before me as he pulls out a key and opens the purple and gold gate. The new section of the library lighting up upon the door opening. And books start to hover out of their places on the shelves and rearrange themselves.
"Huh?" Is all I can say as I watch Titus walk forward, and see a table build itself for us as he takes a seat at it. Soon after, a book flies out of the shelves and makes its way to his hand.
"Shall we begin?"

James "Zamaina" Petrosky POV
.
This woman, is something else. That's all I can say.
"You're serious?" I ask the naked, purple haired woman.
"I am." She says lazily as she lays on the cot that was given to her for 'good behavior'.
According to Neuronist and Demiurge, she started singing the moment she was asked a question. And they had to move her away from the rest as her talking, got the others really upset.
She's still shackled to the bed, but doesn't seem to even mind. Hell, she hasn't even complained about being naked. Just cold.
That being said, she did have a world item on her. One we already took.
World item, Orb of Ur. It was a decent item, more of a gimmick than anything. It allows the user to cast any and all spells under eighth tier, mana free.
Which would explain her moniker. Infinite Magic.
"What do you hope to gain?" I ask the lazy girl as I resist eyeing her form.
Despite her laziness, she is strong. Capable of casting seventh tier magic at only twenty two years old. She's not my type, per se. But I can still appreciate something for what it is. With her slim waist, long legs, and ample breasts.
Even if her actual mana reserves leave much to be desired. Without the orb, I doubt she could even cast a tier four spell and not pass out.
"I'unno. Maybe a blanket?" She shrugs and turns over to face the wall, her chains clacking as she moves. "And would you stop staring you perv? It's like, way creepy."
I have to hold a hand up to stop the Ice Wraiths from attacking at her disrespectful tone. And I have to restrain myself as I feel my blood heat under her disregard. A strong urge to make her submit to me runs through my veins like water over rapids. Be it through breaking her bones, or spirit.
'Neither will be conducive to the task at hand.' I tell myself. 'Besides, as long as she proves useful, she gets a pass.'
"A blanket?" I ask, disbelief thick in my voice.
"A warm one." She adds as she props her head up on her hand. "Some books would be nice."
I, don't get it.
"Why?" I ask, not understanding how she can betray her own so easily.
"Your vampire master killed us all in a matter of minutes." She sighs lazily. "None of us save for the extra seat can claim to have that level of strength. So you can tell her I'm being a good prisoner or whatever."
Oh, oh I see what's going on now. She thinks I'm the subordinate here. That I won't hurt her, or even lay a hand on her without my master's permission.
"Look at me." I demand, and the girl lazily turns to side eye me. "Who's the extra seat?"
I already know, I'm just testing to see if she'll lie.
"Get my blanket first." She sighs and faces the wall. "Then we'll talk."
"A warm blanket?" I sneer at her disrespect.
"That's what I said." She drawls out. "For a werewolf you have some bad ears."
"Very well." I growl and Message Shalltear.
[Shalltear] I message.
[Yes my lord!?] She responds eagerly. [What do you need me to do?]
I leer at the back of the lazy woman's head as I think of how to put her in her place. Or, at the very least, get her to learn her place here.
.
.
It took not two minutes for the pint sized vampire to arrive with a bundle of blankets in hand. All of the highest quality she could likely find. Even though I just told her to grab warm blankets.
Infinite Magic cracks an eye open as Shalltear eagerly enters the room. And sits up with a speed and vigor that belies the attitude she's shown up to this point. Her heart already pounding at the sight of her killer.
The one she believes I am in service of.
"I-I've b-been nothing b-but-"
"Shut up." I silence her with a glare. And she does so, but she keeps her eyes trained on Shalltear.
'She has shit awareness.' I realize to myself.
Because believe it or not, one on one. I'm stronger than Shalltear.
"As requested, I brought you an assortment of blankets my lord!" Shalltear says as she adorably holds the stack up for me to see, and I spot Infinite Magic's gaze shoot to me as her face gets paler.
"Good job, Shalltear." I say as I take the topmost blanket, and toss it at the arrogant pest without looking. "You can hand the rest to a wraith to put back."
She smiles, not even bothering to acknowledge the naked woman in the room.
"Of course my lord!" She bows happily and turns around to order the wraiths.
I turn to the prisoner, now looking ready to piss herself. Shaking in place so fiercely, you'd think she finally realized she's in a frozen prison.
"Shalltear." I call, enjoying the way the woman trying to hide in her new blanket flinches at my voice. "Stand in front of me."
With blistering speed that borders teleportation. Shalltear places herself before me smiling and happy to be receiving orders.
I rub her head affectionately. Earning a blush as I smell her arousal. Something I'm very tempted to take advantage of. And, in part, I do.
Moving my hand to her cheek, and then to her neck. I lift her up by her throat and hold her against the wall. She of course only finds enjoyment in this treatment. Otherwise I wouldn't think of doing this for such a petty reason as scaring a prisoner.
"A-Are we, are you to sate your appetite my lord?" She pants with lustful smile as her pale face deepens in a blush.
"Perhaps later." I give a vague promise for later as I look to the wide eyed prisoner, and look back to Shalltear. "For now, I figured I'd give you a little reward."
I then squeeze a bit harder, and activate a passive that shocks any within melee range. Causing Shalltear's blush to deepen as her eyes gloss over in pleasure. Biting her lip as a tear streaks down her face. Arcs of electricity sparking across her body and flashing the room in strobes of light. Strong enough to kill any low leveled being. And they do hurt Shalltear to an extent.
But again, she only sees this as a reward. The little pervert.
I drop her, letting her catch her breath as I turn to the prisoner. And stalk towards her, watching in a dark enjoyment as tears start to form in her eyes.
"Now." I say as I gently place a hand on her head, I stare her in the eye. My electric blue, meeting her wide brown. "I'm done being nice. Answer, or suffer. Understand?"
She just pissed herself.
"You're not getting a new blanket."

Demiurge POV
.
Adjusting my tie, I walk into the calming atmosphere of the lounge. Taking a deep breath as I prepare to unwind as Lord Momonga had put it.
We truly are unworthy of his kindness, as well as Lord Zamaina's dedication. To think we'd be so blessed to have them stay.
"Demiurge!" I see Tsukune wave at the bar where Sous Chef is tending.
I immediately quash the pang of envy I feel at seeing my fellow guardian. It is not that I bare him any ill will. But seeing him, and understanding that his creator stayed, while mine.
'No.' I admonish myself as I make my way to the vampire. 'Count your blessings and strive to be worthy of them. Do not forlorn others for theirs.'
"Ah, Tsukune." I say evenly as I extend a hand out to my side. "A pleasant surprise seeing you here of all individuals. Does Mizore know you're here?"
I watch his smile stiffen in response to my question. And I keep the laughter from my voice so as to not give away my intent. Though he probably knows.
"Not exactly." The silver haired undead sighs tiredly. "Mizore is busy with her duties on the sixth floor and I'd, rather not distract her."
He is here to unwind just as I. And if Mizore knew he was outside the eighth floor she would seek him out. Though it doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
"I suppose." I say as I take a seat next to the man and address the Myconid. "Devil's dream."
"Right away." Sous Chef says as he begins preparing the drink I most often get.
"So, what brings you here?" Tsukune asks as he sips his own golden drink.
"I am here on Lord Momonga's recommended downtime." I inform him.
"You, on downtime?" Tsukune scoffs. "And it's not an order. Are you feeling well Demiurge, or is this a social experiment."
If I could roll my eyes, I would.
"No, nothing like that I can assure you." I say easily. "But Lord Momonga brought up that constant work, even if we enjoy it, can be detrimental to our performance. That working too much may result in a condition known as burnout."
"Where you work so much your mind runs on autopilot and stops actively contributing to what you're doing while your body demands rest." Tsukune says as he sets his drink down. "Hindering any creativity, or innovations you might otherwise have encountered."
"Ah, so you're aware." I say as Sous Chef finishes swirling the red and black drink. "Well, yes, that. I, was reluctant to believe it would ever effect us. But I did some, private testing and found I do work more efficiently just before and after my downtime. Not that I ever doubted the supreme one's wisdom mind you! I merely wished to understand this phenomenon to its fullest. And perhaps eliminate it if possible."
"Any luck on that front?" Tsukune asks as Sous Chef takes the empty glass from him, earning a smile and nod from the vampire. Letting him know he appreciates the drink, and would like another.
"Sadly no." I reluctantly admit as I sip my savory beverage. "I have so many other tasks on my plate, I must shamefully admit that I have no time to do much other than record the rise and falls of my efficiency. But enough of me, how has life on the eighth floor served so far?"
"It's been, something." Tsukune says with something close to approaching a grimace. "As its caretaker my days are full as ever. And that's on top of my new role in overseeing Ninya's development."
Ah, the human turned vampire. I don't much care for her, but. Well, she's proven useful in understand local culture. Allowing greater means of subterfuge. And she's pledge herself to the Supreme Ones.
So she's deserving of some dignity at least. As are all who recognize the glory that is the Supreme Ones.
"Rather, apt that you be put in charge of her." I say, knowing some of the reasoning behind Lord Zamaina's decision.
"How so?" Tsukune inquires as he turns in his seat to face me.
"Where you not originally designed as a human?" I ask with a raised brow before finishing my drink. "We both know Lysithea serves several purposes. As such her willing compliance is key."
"I'm aware my creator and Lord Momonga are using her for her knowledge on this world's norms." Tsukune admits with a nod, before tilting his head in question. "But what else is there?"
My mind is truly as much a blessing as it is a burden. To see so much of our master's plans. And yet understand just how little of it I actually can see.
And this is one such case.
"It's a matter of people work." I explain as Sous Chef takes my drink. And I make gestures to what I mean. "The minds of lesser beings are, primitive isn't the right word. But they're less organized in many ways. Lysithea is an experiment into, one such avenue of control."
"Where do I come into this?" My fellow guardian asks. "Far as I can see, I turned her, I look after her."
"Yes." I raise a finger, corroborating his point. "But why you? Couldn't any of the vampires here do so? Why not Shalltear? One of her brides? Why pull you from the eighth floor to do so seemingly small a task?"
Tsukune tsks as he looks to the counter. Putting his hand to his chin in thought. Before looking to me with a questioning gaze.
"Because there's something specific about me?" He asks.
"Exactly so!" I confirm. "The point of the matter here, is your connection. Were you not originally human as well? And here you are, caring for a new member of the tomb. A human turned vampire that is assisting our lords directly! Lysithea, is an experiment in methods of control."
"I see." The white haired man says slowly. "I'm not sure I see it, but you are the expert in these matters. Though it makes sense for the supreme one's actions to hold several meanings."
"I wouldn't call myself an expert by any means." I try not to preen too much. "I just dedicate much thought into trying to discern the meanings of our Lord's actions. Just about any with the right mind could do it."
So far, Lysithea has proven invaluable in providing a baseline for psychological changes in an individual. Her diary providing a keen insight into her views and morality before her change. Her devotion to Lord Zamaina shows that it is possible to inspire loyalty beyond question in lesser beings. And that's not mentioning her talent. By keeping track of her efforts in learning new spells, we can more quickly gain a baseline for understanding how the tier system works in this world.
And that's counting her possible future, applications.
I'm getting ahead of myself.
"Let us, step away from this line of thought." I suggest. "The point of downtime is to step away from our responsibilities so that we may recharge and return to our duties refreshed and ready."
"I've no issue with that." Tsukune says with a shrug before smiling. "Besides, I've got a funny story that I've been itching to tell."
Oh, this ought to be good.
.
.
-Guild Master's office-
.
.
"After that, she just folded." I shrug as I finish summing up the info for Momonga. "The others have yet to say anything."
"Hmm." He hums in thought as he scratches his bony chin. "Well, until the others start talking we can't very well ascertain any truth to her words."
"I'll have Neferpitou do the songbird dance on them." I say as I lean on the desk. "Convince the others that Infinite Magic already spilled the beans on everything in exchange for leniency. Should get them to lower their guards. Confirm a few things if nothing else."
"Hmm." Momonga continues to think. "Well, while we wait for that particular development-"
Translation, My mind is elsewhere and I wasn't really paying attention.
"I believe we should check in with Cocytus, the extermination is in four days after all." He says as he pulls out a mirror of remote viewing from his inventory.
There is nothing I can, or really want, to do here. If anything, this is one of the canon events I want to preserve. The subjugation of the Lizardmen is a staple in the future kingdom building. Well, that and the Katze Plains Massacre, but that can be accomplished through any means. Hell, if at all possible I want to do it. But I'm spoiled for choice on how I would do it.
"Hmm, it would seem the Lizardmen are in a bit of a tizzy." He says as I walk around the desk to see what he's seeing.
The scene is an aerial view of the lake. The deep blue orb surrounded by muddy browns and deep greens. Making the land the Lizardmen claim as there own, be more accurately described as a marsh that connects to a greater lake.
All across their spot on the lake, there are various outposts. Or rather, their villages, and they're all in a panic. No, panic isn't the right word for it. Frenzied, they're all in a frenzied rush. Packing up supplies, tearing down buildings, moving things. All except for the first village we intend to wipe out.
"They're moving to the first village." I point out. "Seems like they're banding together after all."
"For the most part." Momonga waves his hand and focuses on one of the villages not in a rush to move about.
There we see a large lizardman with an oversized right arm. Looking like a fiddler crap in proportion.
'That's the uh, Zen-something guy.' I think to myself as I watch him speak to some other lizardmen. Scratching his head with a tilt. He points off into the distance at some lumber they have.
"Oh right." Momonga says before reaching into his inventory once more. "Pandora's actor managed to appraise all of the items on the Black Scripture we captured."
He pulls out a white mask similar to the one given to Ninya. Only rather than being bare, this one contains a series of blue, intricately etched designs. Similar in style to circuit boards.
"Of the magical items collected, only these and one other were not of Yggdrasil in origin." Momonga says as he hands it to me.
Taking the mask in hand, I turn it over and find nothing more of note about it. I can faintly sense the magic held inside, werewolves being susceptible to magic and all. But that doesn't mean I'm aware of what they do.
"What is this?" I ask.
"It is a mask that projects a false face." Momonga says. "An illusion that lasts so long as the mask stays attached."
My eyes widen at the implications. The level of stealth we could achieve with this! All of our illusion granting items meant for people work on a time limit. If we could find a way to make them work indefinitely?
"Is it replicable?" I ask, and Momonga looks to Albedo, who had been here, silent the whole time.
"We are currently looking into that." She says professionally. "As of now the task was handed over to Shaiapouf to discover the secret to crafting these artifacts so that Nazerick may use them."
Nodding along, I look down to the mask and gain a single errant thought. A, curiosity. And it is with that curiosity that I put the mask on, and look to my reflection in the polished metal decorating the walls. Seeing my old face in the gold shine, I look back to Momonga.
"How do I look?" I ask.
"Like a pathetic sheep." Albedo says with a sneer. "Indistinguishable from the miserable rabble, begging to be put out of their miserable lives."
Okay, ow.
Looking to Momonga, I can see he's struggling not to look me in the eye. And his shoulders are shaking gently as though he's trying not to laugh despite his lack of muscles or organs that would allow him to do so.
Feeling petty. I take off the mask and hand it back to him. Before giving the best friendly smile my flat canid features can manage and turn to the door.
"Well, I'll go see about some other duties." I say as I prepare to teleport. "And leave you two lovebirds to spend time together."
Albedo immediately gasps as I teleport out.
[You dick!] Momonga messages before the spell gets cut off.

-Pleiades tea room-
.
.
Yuri Alpha POV
.
"A lovely brew as always." I smile to my little sister Naberal.
"Thank you, it's Darjeeling." She says with a smile.
It's so rare that we can do this nowadays. Sit down and have tea like sisters. But with all the duties being assigned to us-
I merely wish for more time in the day. That's all. Epsilon is in the human capital of Re-Estize with Master Sebas, Entoma is away with Lord Cocytus as he achieves our first war victory in this new world. And Lupusregina is currently in Carne overseeing it and making notes of any problems arising that may need immediate attention.
Aureole is stuck on the eighth floor unfortunately. We talk through message but I wish we'd have more time to converse. Perhaps in the future, fortune willing, they'll be able to sit and converse over tea as a family.
"You added more sugar." Shizuka says softly. "Thank you."
Shizuka speaks in a very subdued, emotionless voice. But to us, her sisters, we can hear the emotion in it.
As an automaton, Shizuka doesn't need food. And can't eat or drink too much at once because she lacks the internal storage. But she was given the ability to taste by her creator. A kind gift to allow her to further enjoy existence.
"It's my pleasure." Naberal smiles.
It's rather odd. Normally we'd have Lupusregina spearheading conversation, Entoma adding witty little comments. Solution spurring the two on as Naberal watches on. Adding only to things she's knowledgeable on. Shizuka pointing out inaccuracies or exaggerations, much to Lupusregina's chagrin. And me, desperately trying to maintain some form of decorum without literally losing my head.
"I must say, this is rather odd." Naberal says as she sets the teapot down. "This is usually when it gets noisy.
"Half of us aren't here." Shizuka points out with a hint of sadness, or rather disappointment.
"It's only natural." I say as I push up my glasses. "With how the new state of the tomb and the world at large, it only makes sense that things are bound to be different every now and then."
"You're jealous you weren't given special tasks." Shizuka points out immediately.
"My point still stands." I say, unable to keep the frown from forming on my face.
"I was considered to accompany Lord Momonga and Lord Zamaina on their excursions." Shizuka says matter of factly, with a tone of smugness in her voice.
"I'll have you know I was as well." I say with a tone of finality.
"But you were rejected because your head comes off too easily." Shizuka says with a small amount of bite as she squints her eye by a millimeter.
"Shizuka wasn't chosen because she is made with knowledge of all the traps and security measures in the tomb." Naberal chimes in. "It was deemed that until more knowledge was gained, it would be too risky if she were captured."
"And what of you?" Shizuka says, turning to face the doppleganger. "You've been quiet."
"She's right." I say and turn towards my raven haired sister. "Is there something the matter? No stories to tell?"
"It's not that." She says with a serene smile as she sips her own tea. "I just don't feel it would be appropriate to brag."
"You're bragging right now." Shizuka says, causing Naberal's face to be adorned with the smallest hint of a blush.
"Perhaps." She says calmly. "Or perhaps it is just your imagination."
"It's not." Shizuka says firmly.
"Well, I say it is." Naberal says nonchalantly. "So it's a matter of opinion at this point, and therefore pointless to argue."
I roll my eyes, but can't help the smile that graces my face. My childish little sister's act being, rather endearing.
"I hear Lord Momonga is starting his governance experiments." I chime in. "Perhaps I may be of use there."
"Hmm?" Naberal hums and Shizuka looks to me with a slight, almost unperceivable puff of her cheeks.
"Demiurge and Albedo were speaking." I bring up. "And Fief overheard them talking of the Supreme being's plans."
"Oh?" Naberal says curiously, her interest piqued as Shizuka loses her pout and tilts her head slightly.
"Yes." I say with a smile and adjust my glasses. "It would seem, that this war, is one of subjugation. To bring the lizardmen under the glorious and prosperous banner of the Supreme Beings."
How merciful a tale it is.
"How do you know?" Naberal asks. "I spend more time around them and I've not heard anything of this."
"I thought you didn't want to brag?" Shizuka says smugly, causing Naberal to stay silent.
To others, it may seem like she's ignoring her. But it's clear to us this is her way of saying 'Okay, you got me.'
"Fief overheard a discussion between Lord Demiurge and Lady Albedo." I say with a smile, choosing not to add on to my sister's antics. "According to what I heard, Lord Momonga gave Cocytus a sub par force on purpose. It would seem, that while the force is strong enough to take out the tribes one on one. It would be ineffective if the tribes banded together."
"I'm not sure I follow." Naberal says. "What would banding together accomplish them? What is squishing bugs one at a time compared to all at once?"
I take my glasses off with a sigh. Even now, after all this time. Naberal still underestimates outsiders. True any one being from the outside world doesn't compare to any one being of Nazerick. But they hold their own merits.
"Basically, if the lizardmen can unify together under one tribe, set aside their differences to achieve victory, then they are worthy of ruling over." I explain as best I can. "But, if they are too petty to do even that. Then they are better off as mere undead labor."
"So if they show potential, they live." Shizuka sums up perfectly. "If they're petty, they die."
"Precisely." I nod and put my glasses back on.
"Do you really believe such insects to be smart enough?" Naberal says as she pours more tea. "To pass a test given by the Supreme Ones. I don't see how an inferior species can possibly live up to their expectations."
'Ninya is proof it's possible for outsiders to see the truth.' I think to myself. 'Though it is possible that she is an exception to the rule.'
"The Supreme Ones wouldn't give out a test if they believed it impassable." Shizuka levels a small glare at Naberal for doubting the Supreme Ones.
"I'm not doubting our masters, the Supreme Beings." Naberal says quickly, as though reading our thoughts. "I'm doubting the insects' ability. I fear our lords may end up disappointed with them."
That is far more understanding. None of us wish for the Supreme Ones to be upset. We exist to see their wills fulfilled. For them to experience disappointment due to some failing, be it ours or an outsiders.
"I have faith they'll make the right choice. And accept the Supreme Ones as their rightful lords and masters." I say with a smile.

-Bar-
.
.
Lysithea "Ninya" Veyron POV
.
"And this my dear, is a Nazerick." The spongey, red orbed headed, man? Says as he finishes pouring the ten layered drink.
"How did you do that?" I ask, astonished at how he managed to pour ten drinks into a cup without them mixing.
"Skill and expertise my dear." The being sounds pleased. "One of my many gifts the Supreme Beings granted onto me."
The supreme beings. I know Inazama, or rather Zamaina, is one of them. Beings of untold power and unfathomable intellect. Each holding dominion over various spheres and attributes of life.
"Ah, Shalltear." The bartender says, pulling me from my thoughts as I move my gaze from the drink to the shorter vampire.
'She looks about my age. Maybe even younger. But.' I think as my gaze drifts a tad lower to the massive chest. 'There is no way someone less than sixteen winters has a chest like that!'
It, makes me concious of my own body. No longer needing to bind my chest, I do have some weight up top. But not that much. And as a vampire, my prospects for ever. Developing further are, less than ideal.
"Oh my~" The girl says and I look up to her almost glowing red eyes. Looking at me with all the smugness in the world as she lets me know I'm caught. Resting her perfectly sculpted face on her wrist as she takes a seat next to me. "Does the fledgling like what she sees?"
I turn away from the buxom elder vampire and focus on the colors of my drink. Before I feel a hand grip my chin and pull me with a strength I can't even think to relate anything to, making me face her again.
"When a Guardian asks you a question, you answer." She says with a bit of bite in her dainty voice, reminding me that though she's a tad shorter and more frail looking. She's still an entity with enough strength to fell gods.
"I-I-I was just admiring your beauty is all, m-my lady." I stutter out the first excuse I think can get me out of this.
That seems to appease her as she gives me a satisfied smile and lets go of my chin.
"See, was that so hard?" She asks before turning to the mushroom man. "A blue moon my dear Sous Chef."
"I see." He says calmly as he prepares several liquids. "Might I remind you, Lady Shalltear, that the Club, Lounge, Cafeteria and Bar are all designated neutrality zones? Or did you conveniently forget?" he says with a bit of a sarcastic bite in his voice.
"Neutrality zone?" I ask curiously as I bring the drink I've been admiring for the past several minutes up to my lips.
It's, rather sweet with a bitter aftertaste.
"Basically." The barkeep says as he looks to the other vampire, and I imagine if he could, he'd be squinting. "Unless otherwise explicitly stated, rank and file mean nothing in this room."
Shalltear says nothing as Sous Chef finishes making her drink. Setting down the gorgeous blue drink before her. Topped with a white foam that seeps down in little wisps.
"My apologies Sous Chef." Shalltear nods before taking the drink and slowly getting up. "I was merely teasing the girl."
She then gets up and turns on her heel. Heading towards the adjoined lounge. Where there were booths that were curtained off by red drapes embroidered with gold trimmings.
"Hmm." The barkeep hums. "Seems she found him."
"Him?" I ask, turning back to the barkeep as he moves to inspect a few glasses.
"Any time she orders a Blue Moon, it's because she intends to give it to Lord Zamaina." He explains as though it were obvious.
"Ina- Lord Zamaina is here?" I ask, somewhat panicked at the idea of him seeing me at a tavern bar. Trying out drinks like some bar fly floozy.
He's given me so much. Returned me from death, given me a safe home, delicious food, access to knowledge I'd never dream of! And all he asks is that I get as strong as I can, and a few odd things here and there.
I can't let him see me here!
"Calm down." The barkeep sighs. "And finish your drink before it's too late."
Snapped from my thoughts. I look around and realize I started breathing a little heavy. And had my hands in my now chin length hair.
"Oh, um." I say as I'm about to decline the drink and slink off to the library. Before shooting that idea down.
'He made you a drink free of charge.' I tell myself before sheepishly apologizing and taking a sip of the drink.
It changed flavor! Now it's fruity and a little sour.
.
.
James "Zamaina" Petrosky POV
.
"Another my lord?" Shalltear offers the drink sweetly with a smile that has a single fang poking through.
'How the fuck does she keep finding me here?' I ask myself.
Nearly every time I come here to get a drink and unwind from this 'unfathomable god of lightning and determination' role. Shalltear, Neferpitou, or one of the Pleiades finds me here and offers to serve me.
The whole point is to get away from the constant worship. It's nice once you first get used to it, but fuck if the pressure to keep up appearances isn't stressful.
"Sure." I say as I accept the drink, having taken off my Ring of Jormungandr to actually get a buzz.
I'm highly resistant to poison, but not immune.
Shalltear smiles giddily and hands me a glass she had already procured from the bar. One I down like a shot as Shalltear moves to sit on her knees next to me. Patiently waiting orders.
Ruining the atmosphere I came here for.
'I can't just send her away.' I sigh inwardly as I lean back on the lounge couch. The space under between the table and myself being enough for my digitigrade legs to relax out. 'I'd feel like shit if I did that. She came here to serve me. I'll just ignore her as best I can, and enjoy the soft music coming from the crystal above my booth.
Although, I could go without the scent of her constant arousal around me. It's, distracting to say the least.
Not to mention the way she keeps stealing glances to my loincloth covered crotch. Biting her lip as she does, and smiling as she sees me start to stir awake.
"Get me another drink." I order her.
'I've been giving her too much leeway.' I think as she gets up and leaves, going to get me another drink as I use the lack of her arousal scent to calm myself down.
In a few more minutes she comes back and hands me the drink. And I take it as offered, where she then sits patiently. Waiting for more orders. An eager smile plastered in her face.
In a lounge, drink in one hand and a girl eagerly serving me at my side. And, if I ask, I imagine I can get her to serve me further.
This almost reminds me of how my cousin used to be. From my second life to be exact. He was a rung higher on the social ladder than me. I was primarily a contract negotiator and general manager for a chain. But that was all to say I was a mouthpiece.
My cousin, Ivan, was a general manager and set up to become a director once he hit forty. Problem is, he had the lifestyle of a seventies rockstar. Not that I blamed him. Long story short, he thought he had more tenure than he did, and pushed his luck by showing up to a meeting high on coke.
He was disowned and demoted to a factory lead somewhere in Poland. Never heard of him since.
Thinking on that, I can't help but smile a little. The arrogant prick is probably wasting his days away with cheap whores and cheaper booze. No way he's on the coke anymore. With how polluted earth was, plants were hard to come across outside of strictly regulated designated areas. Making things like cocaine, tobacco and opium much more expensive and difficult to get.
"Are you enjoying yourself my lord?" Shalltear asks happily. Bringing me out of my thoughts.
Looking to the girl on the couch seat next to me, sitting on her knees as she looks up to me expectantly. I can't help but admire the pristine beauty of her face. And the eager desire to please.
'You know, she probably has a bunny girl outfit in her wardrobe.' The darker part of my mind whispers. 'Get Neferpitou, Narfuto and Usani from the Runners, really kick back and relax.'
With my buzz, I'm sorely tempted to give in.
'Maybe just a little.' I tell myself and smile as I reach over and pull her into my lap, pulling the bonnet thing she wears off of her head as she smiles happily and expectantly.
"Is, is this pleasing to you, my lord?" She asks with a blush as she settles in my lap.
I say nothing as I roam my hands along her sides, earning soft shivers from her as she returns the favor and runs her hands through fur of my arms.
"You're, so soft and warm My Lord." She moans as she closes her eyes. "Please, let me know how I may best serve you."
She then peeks an eye open and lets her absurdly long tongue slip out of her mouth. And I realize this is where it needs to stop.
Reaching into my inventory, I put my Ring of Jormungandr back on. And feel the thoughts slip away as I lose my buzz.
It's not that I don't want to. But I have appearances to maintain and think about. And these curtains are not sound proof. And besides, I do have things I need to do. This role isn't all perks.
"I did enjoy myself." I say as I move her out of my lap and stand up, much to her disappointment. "But I have things I must do."
Namely coordinating the green hole and seeing what's going on with this goblin tribe coalition that's forming near Carne. Then there's the numerous intelligent species near Carne in the Great Forest of Tob I need to speak with. See about setting up the agricultural experiments and handing them off to Mare. Then there's heading to E-Rantel's mages guild to pick up scrolls and books for Ninya. I mean us, we're going to examine any non Yggdrasil scrolls. Sebas is also doing that in the capital but, supply lines and communications in this world are shit. The King could be assassinated right now. And E-Rantel wouldn't know for at least a week. So, it's far more than likely that there are some spells that the E-Rantel guild, and the Capital's guild, don't share.
Then I've gotta check in on Carne. Lupusregina is there, but she only relays if anything major happens. So it's best to pop in every once in a while.
Walking through the lounge and passing the bar. I pause as I look to Ninya, who freezes upon seeing me.
"Ah, Ninya, perfect." I say and pat the side of my leg, calling her over. "Come on, I've got things to do in Tob and you know it better than me."
Like an obedient dog, she downs her drink and hops off the stool. Running to me with a shy and nervous look.
Shooting a glare to Shalltear, who is glaring at Ninya. She stops and stands straight.
"I-Is there anything I may assist you with my lord?" Shalltear asks expectantly.
Damnit, now I feel obligated to give her a task. But nothing is coming to mind.
"See to the prisoner in the frozen prison." I say the first thing that pops into my head as I walk.
"Um, is there-"
"So long as she's compliant, capable of answering questions, and in one piece. I don't care how you accomplish the task." I say before opening a gate and walking through.
It's a useless task. Infinite Magic is already compliant and answering questions, but Shalltear should realize that soon enough and move to a different task in no time on her own.
Hopefully.

-Great Forest of Tob, dummy Nazerick-
.
.
Standing on a cliff just outside the construction site of the Dummy Nazerick. I sought out Aura as she's been surveying the area. So while she might not know of the forest as well as Ninya. She should know of its layout better than her.
"And there's a settlement of goblins and other monsters run by a naga." Aura shrugs with a slightly disappointed look. "But I swear Lord Zamaina, there's nothing strong here. If there is, then I'm sorry but I've failed you!" She bows her head low.
'This is what I mean.' I think tiredly at the girl.
I had given her a reconnaissance missions some days ago. To find any strong or important monsters in the forest.
And I somehow forgot how the NPC's might judge strong or, important.
This is also the reason I prefer Ninya's company. She respects me, and looks up to me. But it's more like how a child wants their parent to be pleased with them. The same can be said for the NPC's, in a sense. But they take it way too far.
"Think of anything near Hamsuke's level of strength." I try, hoping to get this out of the way.
Aura doesn't look up as she fidgets in place. Straightening her back, she keeps her gaze low as she fiddles with her fingers. Humming in thought.
"Well, um, there uh, hrrmmm." She groans in frustration. "That would be uh, maybe the naga, and the troll? They're um. Similar in power, maybe?"
'I suppose that'll have to do.' I think to myself as I turn to Ninya.
"Any local legends to support this?" I ask the girl.
She hums in thought. Nothing coming to her mind immediately. But unlike Aura, it doesn't seem to bring any stress.
"I'm not sure about the troll, and I don't know what a naga is." She says softly. "But if we go by The Wise King of the Forest, then the others would be The Giant of The East, and The Demon Snake of The West."
'Nothing's changed there.' I think to myself as I look to Aura, who only shakes her head with a worried look.
I could just use my canon knowledge. But I don't want to use up what little of that I have and make it seem like I'm some all knowing figure. Only to be caught off guard once I leave that safety net.
"I'm terribly sorry for not being more capable my lord!" Aura bows at the waist. "I-If you wish to punish me, please say so! I, I'll begin disrobing right here if you want."
Every thought in my head screeches to a halt like a train desperately trying not to hit a wall. But failing.
"Excuse me?" Is the only sentence I can muster out.
"I-I failed you my lord." Aura says sheepishly as she looks up with worried eyes and a blush. Pressing her fingers together. "I-I was just, wondering if I should prepare myself like, like how you punished Shalltear."
'Oh fuck all the ducks sideways and call me skippy!' I think with no small amount of exasperation, embarrassment and frustration.
After explaining she wasn't in trouble, and that the punishment given to Shalltear was specifically for Shalltear. And making she swore to never speak of Shalltear's punishment. I was able to move on with this.
Also making a mental note to talk to Shalltear and Neferpitou later. Find out who's telling Aura of what happened. And make sure I put every stop to it. She's the equivalent of a twelve year old for fuck's sake!
"From what I'm hearing." I say after a bit of thought. "I believe we ought to investigate this naga leading a band of goblins, and this troll as well. Do you know where they are?"
Aura nods with a smile, before speaking in a tone just above normal volume in a way kids do.
"I know their usual locations and where they tend to inhabit." She says eagerly. "If we go there, then we should find them no problem!"
"Right then, lead the way." I nod, and Aura jogs a few paces away before putting her fingers to her lips and letting out a whistle.
I never did learn how people do that.
A large wolf comes barreling out of the tree line. Having been waiting there the whole time we were talking. It's one of Aura's tames. A magic wolf mount known as a Fenris. No relation.
"Ninya, ride with Aura." I tell the girl as I look back to her, only to see a blank and hollow stare. Her eyes stoic and lips pursed thin. "Are you alright?"
"What, punishment was she talking about?" Ninya asks in a hollow voice.
'Peroroncino, I blame you.' I think bitterly.
.
.
As we run through the forest. Ninya holding onto Aura tightly as I run beside them. I say we're running, but to me, this is barely a jog. Even though the wolfish mount next to me is moving at full speed.
And Ninya has her eyes clenched shut as tight as possible.
The run is done mostly in silence, as we pass several clearings and come to an area in the forest more densely packed than the rest. And find a peculiarly built village. Or, rather what looks to be an imitation of one. The houses being rough tents of hide and leaves. Not even propped up on their own posts. But rather being hung from the branches above. Making a jagged and uneven set up with no thought or planning. Various goblins, wolflike beasts, and other such smaller races populate the space. And above, I sense the presence of a handful of naga's waiting in the trees.
"Well now, what have we here." I remark as I look out at the squalor of, I guess you could call them tents?
"This is the largest naga's main residence." Aura says helpfully.
I genuinely would've never guessed. Seeing as, this is, pathetic. It's like a band of hunters got caught in the rain and tossed up a few tarps to keep themselves dry. To call this a, residence, is an overstatement. I've seen homeless tent cities with more organization.
'Maybe it's intentional?' I ask myself. 'Make it as unassuming as possible to throw off would be invaders?'
No, on closer inspection I can see a few, more permanent fittings that mark this spot. Namely the tent farthest from us. It's situated under a large evergreen tree with the lower branches cut off. A tent fastened to a branch high above, with its edges held down by rocks on the ground. The tarp has a weird bluish purple dye haphazardly splashed on it. And there are posts around its front entrance displaying various skulls. Including those of ogres and a few trolls.
In the center of the large open tent is a large grey naga with a rat's nest of brown hair. Snacking, on a rat skewered on a stick.
"My lord." Aura says while looking up at the Naga trying to sneak down on us from the trees.
"Yes I know." I say as I aim a finger up without looking and cast a second tier spell. "Static Sting."
A small, almost invisible mote of electricity shoots up and hits the naga. Causing it to violently jerk before falling out of the tree above us, landing on the forest floor with a thud. Stiff as a board as it lets out a few, ah, ah, sounds from its paralyzed mouth.
Static sting, is a single target status debuff that paralyzes the opponent.
Ninya eeps at the snake man, or rather woman, landing in front of us. Gaining the attention of the entire camp.
'Are they, mammalian?' I ask myself as I stare at the snake person's ample chest, only hidden by a loose hide cloth. 'Why, why does it have tits? Does it breast feed its young? In that case do they, or do they not lay eggs? Why is this bothering me so much?'
"Um, Lord Zamaina." Aura says, and I look to her giving me a weirded out look. "Are you gonna, stop perving on her chest or should I leave?"
"Just, gaining an understanding of the enemy." I say offhandedly. And I hear a soft movement behind me.
Looking back, I see Ninya giving me the same apprehensive look. And taking a step back.
"I'm just not winning today." I sigh to myself as I turn to see a bunch of goblins pointing spears at us.
Good, progress.
"Alright." I say as I step forward and plant a foot on the snake lady's neck. "Take me to your leader!"

Demiurge's breeding experiment (Dark)
.
.
Demiurge POV
.
Tapping my chin in thought, I look to the glass jar with the adventurer's womb inside. I had the assistance of Evil Lord Lust, and inseminated it with an imp's seed. To see if there was something I was missing.
No matter how often I had tried with the subject Clementine, her womb just wouldn't hold a seed. I even had her opened and inspected, but her womb was intact. And she experienced two menstrual cycles while under our care. So she is ovulating. But none of the attempts have been fruitful unfortunately.
"Perhaps I switch to more humanoid species?" I ponder out loud. "Switch to Ogres, Trolls and the like?"
Her skin is sublime. Clementine that is. Giving us a consistent source of tier three scrolls. But none above such. I had hoped that by selectively breeding her with higher magical beings that she'd produce sheep more, capable than herself.
But alas, she is a disappointment in this case.
"detect life." I say as I hold out a hand and cast the spell on the incubation jar.
There it is! A small sliver, an ember of life.
"Does this mean it's possible?" I say as I write out my report. "Is it something specific to Clementine that is keeping her from producing? Or is it standard? That there is something in the greater human body, not present in the reproductive organs themselves, that makes it more resistant to foreign seed?"
Perhaps I should I extract her womb? Have it inseminated to confirm. No, that's a last resort. Once done, it cannot be undone. So it is best to keep that experiment in reserve for when all other methods are proven ineffective.
For now, I suppose it's best to wait. See this to term, if I'll excuse myself the pun.

The Runners

Narfuto- Female Werewolf Ninja
Usani- Siren Bard
Jowei- Male Werewolf Berserker
Kouri- Male Poltergeist Sorcerer
Speed- Male Leprechaun Barbarian

For those wondering, Momonga is the one informing various NPC's of when Zamaina goes to the lounge. Mostly as retaliation for when Zamaina does something to fuck with Momonga. Like the Lovebirds comment that set off Albedo.
.
All the Runners are based on Youtube singers, or at least Youtuber's who have made songs, and their names all have a tie to Running.
Narfuto, Naruto Running.
Usani, Usain Bolt
Jowei, Jessie Owens
Kouri, Parkour Running
Speed, that one's obvious
.
So, Zamaina's karma rating is -150, he's neutral evil in a similar way to Aura and Mare who are -100. In that they are selfish and disregarding of those not from Nazerick.
So whereas Momonga is like
"Will killing a million benefit me more than sparing them? Then I'll do it."
Zamaina is
"Do we have to kill them? Don't get me wrong I have nothing against it but, is there a reason?"
.
There actually are major differences in morals and values between Zamaina and James that sort of clash and meld.
Zamaina: Loyalty, strength, cunning, bravery. These are things Zamaina holds in esteem.
James: Loyalty, humility, kindness, creativity. These are things James holds in esteem.
.
Fun fact! The idea that ancient humans married young is grossly over stated. Outside of ruling classes and politicians using marriage to secure alliances, most people married in their early to mid twenties. Even in ancient Greece. In Sparta, women couldn't marry until 18. And men weren't allowed to marry until 30. Of course Sparta is the exception in many cases. But many contemporary (Not sure if I'm using that word right.) sources show the average age for a woman to marry in ancient Greece was around 21. Marrying children was almost strictly a nobility thing, and was mostly political.
I say mostly because there's always going to be creeps.
.
Also, this Tsukune, is pretty much Tsukune in looks and name only. Zamaina based him off of memory, and of what he thought would be cool. Hence this Tsukune is a nice guy, but is more like a casual Sebas than the beta that is Rosario Vampire Tsukune. Hell, if I changed his name, you would NOT know who it was based on.
And, Zamaina has noted this, but Tsukune acts like he did IRL. Or at least the mask he'd put on for work.
