MexPan: Appeal to Interest

Mexico was sitting in the meeting room, bored out of her mind. Her eyes trailed around the room, falling on a certain nation, and she smirked. She had been trying to seduce Japan for a while now, but she had finally found something that should work. She just needed to wait for a while longer.

Once the meeting was called to an end, Mexico quickly made her way towards Japan. He saw her coming, and looked a little apprehensive. But she knew that he wouldn't turn her away. He was too polite, after all.

"Hola, Japan," Mexico said.

"Ah, good day, Mexico-san," Japan said. "Is there something you wanted to discuss with me?"

"That's right," she said, removing something from her bag. "I recently bought this anime, but I heard it's pretty dark and rather intense. I thought it would be best to watch it with someone else. And since it's from your place…"

The anime she held was called Shinsekai Yori, and she heard that it was a rather deep, though dark, anime. And she knew that Japan had a soft spot for anime and manga.

As it was, Japan was staring at the Blu-ray case (she made sure to get it in a very high quality, just in case). Japan eventually shifted his attention back to her.

"I… actually already watched it," Japan said. "And read the novel."

"Oh," Mexico said, slumping a bit in disappointment.

"However… I wouldn't mind watching it again. And you're right. It might be a good idea to watch it with company."

Mexico's eyes widened, and she perked up. As the two left the meeting room, they discussed plans to marathon this anime.

This is the original prompt: 'If you THINK I'm gonna rewatch this 50 episode anime with you just because you haven't seen it then you are absolutely right sit down we are marathoning this.'

I actually watched this anime, and although I enjoyed it, I had to watch something a bit more light-hearted when I finished it. I watched it without knowing much about it beforehand (it was a recommendation from a friend, who only told me that it's dark, which is the type of anime we bond over). It's 25 episodes, and I seriously recommend it.

I also did a quick check on the popularity of anime in Mexico before writing this chapter. According to Animemotivation (based on Google trends), Mexico is ranked ninth on the list of 25 countries that love anime the most (first is, of course, Japan). If it wasn't popular enough in Mexico, I would have gone with France (seriously, I saw manga in the grocery store…). South Africa… yeah, good luck with that.
