(Hey guys! How's your Fall going? Getting spookie this month without it getting too hot temperature wise?
For any of you who have read my previous works, and those who had patiently waited for my updated, I just wanted to explain some things. As any of you Spider fans know the movie "Across the Spider-verse" came out last year's summer and I thought it was amazing and inspiring. So, while I was dealing with RL stress, trying to catch up on some of my stories from trauma and RL at the time, my artwork, I was also working on how to contribute to the larger Spider-verse myself in this way like many artists and authors such as Epiclot214, lyokoMARVELanime, Spider-fan626, and many others I have yet to meet while waiting for "Beyond the Spider-verse" to come.
I hope you all like it.
-P.S. If you guys know anything about Digimon or Kamen Riders please go check it out, or if you wish to contribute to it go ahead and don't worry I'll help if you need it.

"Well… here's the story if you really wanna know it…"
September 23rd Thursday, 8pm
A young boy ran in a dark alleyway. He was out of breath, but had to keep running. Looking back, he saw zombies shambling after him. He ducked under a piece of wood planks that kept them from following after him… for now.
Once he found a place to hide, Peter breathed heavily, unable to believe what was happening.
'This… this can't be real! People don't turn into zombies…!' the eleven-year-old Peter thought, trying to rationalize what he saw… Hours ago he was home and made sure not to drink from the tap like what his parents phoned him about… But now, some of his neighbors under the influence of the infection broke in and tried to eat him, especially after another neighbor tried to stop them only for him to get bitten and then became like a zombie himself…
It was then that he saw how the craziness did not just extend to them trying to break into the houses or harm others; they were actually trying to eat people!
After getting into his hiding spot, he ate what food he could before he heard the radio talking about a massive outbreak of a virus and anyone who still had 'clear thoughts' were to head to the RCPD building to be evacuated.
Peter, still scared and cautious, thought, 'Can they really get me out of the city?'
He then looked in the direction of the city thinking about his parents and a blond girl with a hairband, asking concerned 'What about my parents? Sherry?'
Sure, his parents had been working more hours and spending less time with him because of their work at Umbrella, but Dr. Birkin's daughter, Sherry was his best friend…
The boy then heard some heavy sets of feet coming and heard some other survivors talking to each other, "Is it true? Can they really get us out of here?"
"What about everyone we care about?" A second asked, concerned.
"Who the hell cares? We just gotta show up and then boom! We're out of this fucking city!" Another guy said, not caring about the others outside of their group. Even as they hurried to be protected and evacuated.
Peter stopped, uncertain. Obviously, he wanted to get out of there, but he couldn't leave his parents behind, OR Sherry. Peter turned around and ran in the opposite direction to find his family and friend, away from the police station. Besides… Chief Irons gave him a bad feeling…
September 27th, Monday, 6pm
For the next couple of days Peter was on the run to steal food that hadn't been spoiled from stores because of the outbreak… And right now, was the most dangerous time since the outbreak started four days ago… He had learned many things in order to keep himself from being targeted by the infected; he had to learn how to sneak around silently, making sure he stayed far away from anyone who were not infected by the outbreak, and definitely to not make a sound since it looked like the infected were attracted to sound. And he always made sure that his safe spot was secured before he went to sleep. Not to mention, he changed his outfit from the Raccoon City Elementary School uniform to something that would help him survive better.
When he woke up to get his run to search for his family and food he heard lots of gun shots coming from the Police station. Carefully, he went to a roof top and saw what was left of the RPCD trying to take out more of the infected; but it became a massacre, so much so that Peter had to look away when it became too much for him to handle and see… Peter put his binoculars down and sat down, holding his hands to his head and whispered to himself, "This has to be a nightmare… It just has to be…"
Even after seeing it, he didn't understand how this happened… Doing his best to think clearly, Peter thought back to how things were before this happened.
He remembered that four days ago, he was in Raccoon City East Elementary school with his friend Sherry Birkin when she got called by the office for an emergency call from her mother. After she left he did not see her come back. He didn't get the same thing until an hour later and came home immediately. He got home and stayed home; he even was told not to drink from the sink. It wasn't until sunset that things became very dangerous, that the neighbors began to act crazy. Smashing themselves against the doors, windows, trying to force their way in. Peter had to escape before they could hurt him.
And after he chose not to be evacuated at the RPD building, he still had not found anything of either his parents or Sherry. Only that so many people have become zombie-like... Or maybe he should call them what they are, Zombies, especially after how he vividly remember seeing someone who had got mauled get back up and attack those that killed the zombie that bitten him.
Still not sure what to think, Peter had to continue keeping himself from being hunted down by zombies or survivors who would want to use him as bait or rob him and then leave him to die.
Peter had to develop skills on how to survive in a city like Raccoon City after the breakout, and that was before the EMP went off, turned out all the lights and made most of the computers… So that meant no one could help him.
Sept. 28th, Tuesday, 6pm
Things became even worse the following day. The infected had multiplied by a hundred and the barricades were not able to keep them back any longer… and had begun to infect more people turning the formerly guarded city to fall into more chaos with everything going to hell…
Fires erupted, buildings collapsed, or being broken. He saw a large creature that looked human - but was too tall to be human, and the fact it could use weapons made it too scary. Peter hid out as much as he could, but then decided to go to the sewers to be safe from what was up on the streets.
Hours of searching, and away from where Umbrella's army were bringing people, Peter found an entrance to the sewers where he thought he'd be safe…
That was until he saw a giant monster that looked like a mutated creature with feet like a lizard, a mouth like a shark, with stubby chicken like wings snarling at his direction, making Peter run for his life. He, luckily, found a store that had some clean bottles of water and remaining food that was still good. He made his way to one of the hiding spots he made while looking for his family throughout the city and went to sleep as Sunrise came.
Sept. 29th, Wednesday, 8pm
Today things seemed to have quieted down… and most of the food had gone spoiled after a week had passed since the outbreak began. It was now or never… Peter needed to find his family and they needed to get out of the city before something worse happened to the city.
He had gotten about some feet from his latest hiding spot when he heard footsteps coming. He hid behind some garbage and saw six pairs of legs approaching from the side as a woman with a French accent spoke, "Command, we're at the coordinates where Dr. Parker's kid was spot on the camera. No sign of him."
One of the men then shouted, annoyed, "We are looking everywhere for him! He's a slippery brat. Like he was yesterday and the day before."
"It's truly fascinating that he's survived this long after the outbreak began." Another female voice said, calmly, "It must have to do with his genetics or perhaps the intelligence he was gifted from his parents."
One whose voice was the most distorted said, "He's a survivor. But he's leverage to make his father give up what he has on the company."
Peter's eyes widened, seeing the symbol on one of their uniforms, to realize what they were talking about, 'They work for Umbrella? And Dad has something on them? Is that why he and Mr. Birkin were so quiet?'
"That's enough." The woman with the French Accent said to her group, "We need to find him and the Birkin girl before the infected or those interlopers do."
The heavy set of footsteps approached Peter's location and joked, "Wolf Mother's very serious about this."
"She seems to be taking this too personally." The same woman who found Peter surviving as long as Sherry interesting to her.
"Doesn't matter." A new voice spoke, in a slow rasp manner, "We still have our job to do."
"Spectre's right. Spread out and find him. Beltway, Four-Eyes, with me. Vector, take Spectre and Bertha with you and search that way. Meet back at the safehouse if you found him or not." The 'wolf mother' ordered as she led a small group in one direction, and the other half took another direction. After making sure that they were gone, Peter came out from his hiding spot and watched in the direction he heard them leaving, 'Umbrella's after me… to make dad give up evidence? Why?'
As he thought about it, he then stopped, eyes widening and said aloud, "They caused this?"
Peter looked around and saw how Umbrella was everywhere and spoke his theory aloud, "Umbrella, they've been really good with genetics and made medicines for everyone… but to actually make a virus that caused this?"
Peter shook his head and focused, "Gotta find Sherry and then mom and dad."
The boy continued to search his way through the desolate city, which was a lot harder now that he had to avoid the main streets where the cameras were keeping an eye out for him.
He also had to keep away from places that would have Umbrella keep eyes as he made his way to the Police station, such as City Hall, or even the hospitals.
After making his way to the RCPD, Peter wanted to got inside to find Sherry. Only before he could even begin to search for a way inside…
"Let me go!" Peter heard, seeing Chief Irons, the obese Police chief, dragging someone away. Someone with a familiar voice…
"Obviously, someone never taught you manners. So, we'll fix that. Oh yes sir, we will!" the chief said dragging someone who shouted, "No please! Ow! You're hurting me! Let me go! Claire! Claire!"
However, as he did he saw a flash of blond, and asked, "Sherry?"
'Is… Is it really her? Where has she been since the Outbreak happened?' Peter asked seeing her before he shook his head, 'No. don't think like that, Sherry needs help.'
He hurried off, ignoring any warning his brain was telling him about Umbrella spotting him on the cameras around town. Especially making sure that Irons didn't spot him leading Sherry to… the orphanage?
His mom and dad told him about the orphanage and how Umbrella tried to help them find new homes. But there was nothing after when he asked. Once he made it, the boy couldn't find a way in; the place was locked up tight and the windows were too high for him to even try to climb in.
And the tree was definitely no help…
Hearing the sounds of footsteps coming, Peter high tailed it out of there to a better hiding spot. Hiding against the wall, Peter saw those same soldiers coming and the "wolf mother" speaking, "Command, we're at the orphanage and we're proceeding to locate both primary and secondary targets."
A moment later, she said, "Understood."
Turning to the others, she ordered, "Vector find a way inside, Irons may plan to use the girl as a means to save himself."
"Got it, Lupo." Vector, the man whose voice was distorted the most, said as he headed towards the orphanage to find a means inside without alerting Iron to their location.
"Spectre, head to a good vantage point to give us some idea what the hell's going on inside. Keep an eye out for the Parker boy." Lupo A.K.A. "Wolf mother" ordered. Facing the man with what looked like specialized goggles over his face and holding a rifle.
"Roger." The slow, raspy, speaking man, Spectre, said heading out of the orphanage's yard to do so.
Lupo turned to the remaining members of her team and ordered, "Spread out and hold positions until we know for certain that both kids are inside."
Immediately they did as ordered, Peter had to be extra quiet to make sure that one of the people, a woman with short blond hair, with a full gasmask over her face, and something of a handle sticking out from her uniform came close. Glancing around before she had placed a finger to her ear and then stormed the orphanage with the others. Peter, taking a quick look around, risked himself being seen by that Spectre guy and hurried into the Orphanage. Once he entered he saw that he was in the main entrance of the building, and it was a mess.
Before Peter could think about doing something, he heard heavy footsteps, and saw a large guy with thick armor and a brace on his leg coming out, muttering, "What the hell's so special about them kids? Sure, their parents work for the company, but big deal…"
Thinking quickly, Peter hid behind some junk, doing his best to remain still until the Big Guy turned or left.
The man continued to search, not caring about subtly, swearing as he went. Peter remained still as he saw the man digging through everything. Another set of feet came and Peter saw a woman with short black hair and a mask covering half of her face coming and asked, "Did you find him?"
"You think I'd be digging through shit if I found the chico, Four-Eyes?" the man asked, complaining as he kept searching.
The woman, Four-Eyes remained silent and glanced up to the steps, suspiciously while Beltway asked, "So how's the fat man?"
"He's infected with G-Embryo forcibly inserted into his body by 'G' via the thoracic cavity, in the last half-hour." Four-Eyes informed him. Beltway got up from his searching and asked, "So anyway we can get 'im to talk before we pop 'im off?"
"Not likely. But the sewer entrance looks like it's been used. Could be that the Birkin girl is down in the sewers and 'G' went after her. Spectre will remain above ground to keep eyes on any targets." Four-Eyes explained before she thought she saw something but then continued her train of thought, "Either way Irons will be dead before he can reveal anything damaging about the company."
Beltway snorted, callously commented, "Sucks to be him."
The two, after making sure that the boy they were searching for was not there, returned to the rest of their squad. Once he was sure that the Umbrella soldiers were gone, Peter poked his head out. All that time that they were searching for him he had to move carefully and quietly to make sure they didn't find him.
After waiting for what felt like minutes, Peter got up from where he was hiding and entered the hallway. With any luck he would find Sherry before them, or whatever 'G' was. Shocked at seeing the body of a young woman, the boy shook his head. After seeing so much death and violence since the outbreak started, Peter had to focus on what had been keeping him from ending up dead or worse infected. He saw a hatch open and figured that's what the soldiers used to go into the sewers. Climbing down, Peter was determined, now more than ever to find Sherry and get her to their parents; he was not going to give up.
Peter kept looking, not slowing down, or stopping to catch his breath, not after the last time he was in these sewers…
The boy actually lost track of time on how long he's been searching in the sewers. Along the way, Peter made sure to not step in the middle area where the sludge and… whatever else was in there… was swimming through it all.
But stopped when he thought he heard skittering sounds. Just as he ducked down beneath some discarded furniture as a means to hide himself, Peter heard a groan coming his way. He made sure that he wasn't spotted or see, but he could hear screeching, roaring, squishing, and sounds that Peter never heard of before.
He held his body close wanting it to end. After several minutes of fighting, Peter heard everything go deafly quiet.
Taking a chance Peter peeked into one of the openings to see what happened and saw bodies, somewhere humans, while others were spider-like creatures that began to melt away leaving nothing behind. Standing in the middle of the carnage stood a giant monster holding a metal pipe. It turned as if looking for any more to kill. In that moment Peter saw the eye of the creature. In one of the rare traces of lights down here, he saw a giant eye glancing in his direction.
It wasn't a human's eye, it was red, yellow and it was in the creature's shoulder. Fear gripped Peter's heart as he saw the eye, so unhuman… clamping his mouth shut with his hands tightly, hearing his heartbeat thumping in his chest tightly. He stared at the eye while it kept watching in his direction. It then changed directions while the creature lumbered off with a groan letting out a distorted and raspy word, "…Sherry…"
Hearing the name of his best friend coming from the lips of that monster made Peter's mind race. He definitely needed to find Sherry before Umbrella, the zombies, the monsters, and whatever the hell that thing is did!
Getting up from his hiding spot, Peter saw the gory aftermath of the fight and saw more than just zombie-like corpses, but also something like a skinless horror with no eyes and claws instead of fingers and feet either ripped apart, flattened, or killed violently. Peter, unable to keep in all that he had seen since the outbreak happened over a week ago, threw up at the slaughter around him.
Honestly, he was surprised to have lasted this long without losing his meal…
Knowing that he had no time to waste, Peter forced himself to get up and hurried to find Sherry, but in a direction that the monster did not take.
Peter kept on searching for Sherry until he stopped and heard crying. He took a chance of who was making it and followed the sound despite the danger.
Losing track of time, again, Peter kept following the sounds of crying until he saw a light at the end of the tunnel, literally… and once he made it through the doorway, what – or who he saw, surprised him. There stood Sherry Birkin, still dressed in her school uniform, crying her eyes out.
Peter was not able to do or say anything else except, "Sherry?"
Alarmed, he saw the blond girl before him looking up towards him. The two stood there in silence until the girl said, quietly, "Peter…"
She then cried out, "Peter!"
Sherry ran to her friend, hugging him tightly, happy to see him alive, tears streaming down her face as she cried. Peter had froze from seeing Sherry before he hugged her back, sniffling as well. A hand going to her head to help her calm down. The danger around them forgotten…
That was before their reunion was interrupted when they heard sounds on the floor above them. Sherry looked up still scared and asked, "Who's up there?"
"Hey there, darlins'. You two ok?" a woman with a southern accent asked, from the darkness.
Sherry ran to the edge with Peter behind her, more on guard as the blond girl asked, "Is that you Claire?"
Party Girl answered, "Sherry, honey, it's alright. We're friends of Claire."
Sherry was going to talk but Peter interrupted, "How do we know you're telling the truth? You could be the guys trying to take kidnap us away."
"Don't worry, Peter, you can trust us." Peter heard the woman say, then asked, "After all what's that thing y'all family says? Great Power comes Great Responsibility."
"Wait… how do you know that?" Peter asked. No one outside of the Parker family knew that motto, 'With Great Power comes Great Responsibility'.
"There ya go. Yer Pa told us that when he asked us to come looking fer you." Party Girl beamed, relieved to see that the two kids were okay.
"Where's Claire?" Sherry demanded, not sure if she can trust them, even if they knew the 'Parker Family motto'.
"Claire's not with us. But we gotta get you two outta there." Party Girl answered.
Peter looked around and saw how dark it was. There was no way they could if monsters were there, he always avoided them, but Sherry might be too scared to move. Sherry told them that, the southern voice spoke up again, "Okay darlin', hows about we give you two some light and you follow it to safety? Can you do that fer me?"
The two kids looked at each other, before nodding, "Okay."
Harley got his flare ready and tossed it some feet from the kids. Once they made it Shona tossed the other flare out to the next section. Things were calm until the two kids stopped and Sherry screamed as a zombie stared at them. Peter went to place himself between Sherry and the zombie before several gunshots were heard and the zombie dropped.
The woman with the southern accent shouted, "Keep going kids, we'll cover ya'll!"
A man shouted, after throwing a flare further, "DO NOT let those things get the kids!"
Gunfire was heard and the kids kept going. Peter held onto Sherry's hand as they went to the door. Hopefully, the door that would get them out of danger and hopefully to where these soldiers were waiting for them. The boy tried to open it, but found it locked. Just as he was about to hit it, Sherry stopped him, "I got it."
She then pulled out a Keycard and swiped it, causing the door open for them. With the door open Peter and Sherry made their way through and closed it behind them. This continued on for some corridors until the two kids, with some close calls of zombies almost grabbing them, but made it through the corridors and found themselves in a large space of a room where it looks like several platforms separated them from the soldiers who have been guarding them. The two had to duck down as the soldiers fired at the zombies close by before they heard another of the soldiers shout, "Get going kids! We'll cover you!"
They kept going while avoiding as many zombies as they could until they reached the controls and Sherry said, "This one should bring them to us."
Peter watched his friend after beating a Zombie away with the bat he picked up above ground. Despite how he distrusted the soldiers, he couldn't lie that the two of them needed their help if they wanted to get out of here alive.
A groaning was heard and the zombie that Peter batted away started getting back up and made a shuffling dash towards Sherry. Peter froze unable to move even though he wanted to save his best friend. Before he could get the courage to move, the sound of a gunshot was heard and the zombie dropped dead, Blood and other things sprayed the wall.
With shaking breathes, the boy looked to see a man with short brown hair a small red scarf, wearing a sort of sand color uniform with a green vest, pants, boots. He wore gloves over his hands and had a rifle in them.
He then called, "Clear!"
Looking back, he called, "Harley, check on the girl."
"Got it." A big burly man with the shaved head and tattoos on his exposed arms, said, before he went in to check on Sherry.
Peter glanced back to Sherry while the man next to him knelt down and asked, "Hey kid. Are you okay?"
Peter could not answer; his mouth was dry. He just couldn't help but let out everything he would been feeling since the outbreak started and cried. He cried so much he wasn't able to do anything else.
The man wasn't sure what to do but another of his teammates came up and said, "Oh, there-there darling, shh… It's okay… You two must've been so scared…"
Peter, seeing through blurry eyes looked at a woman with short blond hair smiling sweetly at him, "I… I… I couldn't do anything… even though…"
"It's okay." The woman told him, "It's okay."
Peter calmed down after that and then went to Sherry after being checked out by the larger man. Peter was scared of him while the man said, seeing how the kid was nervous around him with his rough exterior, "Don't worry, kid. I'm a medic."
He then checked the boy out before addressing the man with the red scarf, Harley said, "They're clean."
Letting out a sigh of relief, the man in the red scarf said, "Thank God."
He then placed a hand to his ear, "Willow, how's that escape path looking?"
After few minutes of silence, he nodded, "Understood. We're on our way."
An African-American man approached and stated, "Dee-Ay, I examined the infected and it seemed like they were all herded or influenced here by some exterior source."
The man with the red scarf, Dee-Ay, looked at the other man and asked, "Are you sure Shona?"
Shona nodded, "I believe it'd be best if we leave immediately before what brought them here comes back."
"Good thinking." Dee-Ay said before looking to his team, "Okay, every one check your ammo and get ready, because we're moving out."
Looking at Sherry, the man asked, "Ready to see Claire?"
Sherry nodded, but Peter asked, "Who are you guys?"
"We work for the government." The man, Dee-Ay answered, "We came here looking for civilians and to find out what caused this."
"It was Umbrella." Peter answered, stopping the man in mid-sentence.
Dee-Ay looked surprised at the words the boy spoke, while the red-headed woman asked, with a British accent, "How'd you know that lad?"
"Some of Umbrella's soldiers said that Dad was getting evidence while they were looking for me. I was lucky to get away…" Peter explained, About how he got that information.
The squad of soldiers looked at each other before Dee-Ay said, "So we got confirmation that Dr. Parker was keeping evidence hidden away…"
He then left the room with the kids and his squad while saying, seeing the locked door before them, "We need to figure out how to open that door to get out of here."
"I know what that is." Sherry pipped up, as she went to the digital pad and swiped it. The door instantly opened while the blond woman asked, "Sherry, where'd you get that keycard?"
"My mommy gave it to me." Sherry answered.
Looking at her, Dee-Ay asked, "Where's your daddy?"
"I don't know… Don't wanna know…" Sherry answered looking away. Peter saw how scared she was when she did that. Dee-Ay knelt down to look at the girl and asked, gently, "Why not?"
"He's different than he was before…" Sherry answered before she went and held Peter's hand tightly, making the boy's face feel like it was warming up, showing how flustered at his best friend doing this. He could see how the blond woman couldn't help but smile at seeing how cute the two were together.
Peter looked at them and asked, "Who are you guys."
"I told you we're here to get you kids out of here and find evidence that'll bring Umbrella down for what they did here." Dee-Ay explained but Peter shook his head as they walked, "I meant your names."
"Oh…" Dee-Ay said now getting it as he said, "Well… you can call me Dee-Ay."
He then turned to the other members of his team, starting with the woman with the camo suit, who nodded, "That's Willow."
"Party Girl." The blond woman smiled at them.
"Shona." The African-American with the pad on his arm nodded.
"Tweed." She simply lifted her large rifle.
"And Harley." Harley huffed as he reloaded his gun.
Knowing that he could trust them, Peter simply asked, "Are you a team like Captain American and the Howling Commandoes in World War Two?"
"You can say that, though we don't have anyone who's on his level." Dee-Ay chuckled at the comparison as they left. However, things got serious as they had to deal with a number of zombies along the way, and dealt with some close calls with Zombies nearly grabbing Sherry or Peter. One of them had a head that looked red or crimson and was rushing at them with more speed than the regular zombies. It was very difficult to deal with compared to the other zombies, but it fell all the same.
The group of soldiers led them down the sewer path until they heard a sound, and it was neither one of the living, or an undead…
It was a shrill series of chirping along with a hiss. The group found themselves looking at a giant spider hissing at them, mandibles flaring as its first two legs raised a bit. The adults had faced spider-based monsters since coming to this city, and they only saw the tarantula B.O.W., nothing like this. Harley and Tweed stood protectively in front of the kids when the head of the monster faced them. Dee-Ay ordered, "Spread out, make sure that this thing doesn't have one target to focus on, if you spot a weakness, use it!"
The group did just that while the creature roared out swinging it's legs around or firing webbing the soldiers who were engaging it fired at the bug trying to get through its exoskeleton with their weapons. Peter stayed back as far as he could with Party Girl and Willow to keep the two kids safe. Party Girl pulling out a sniper rifle to provide aid to her teammates.
Peter couldn't help but watch as Dee-Ay and his team worked to fight that giant spider monster. They worked very well together, especially when the monster tried to web one of them, or lunged at them. When one was in trouble one of the others were there to help. After an intense battle, the giant spider shrieked in pain before falling down dead.
The soldiers, with a few scrapes and scratches, breathed heavily as they saw the giant spider, dead before them. Cautiously they approached the giant spider, just to make sure it won't get up and attacked them, again…
"So, who wants to make sure this thing is dead?" Harley asked, looking at the spider's corpse, while getting looks from his closest teammates.
Only the abdomen of the spider seemed to be writhing before it exploded and several smaller spiders, the size of cats (height wise) sprung out and began to attack.
"Shit! It has little ones!" Tweed shouted, before the African-American scientist explained, "It must've been designed to release them upon its death!"
"Let's send 'em back to mommy!" Harley shouted, trading his rifle for a shotgun, aimed it, and fired on the smaller spiders. Some of them climbed up the walls and jumped at the soldiers only for them to stop the little spiders with either their knives or their guns.
No one was aware as one of the little mutated spiders, smallest of the rest of its brood, scurried away from the fighting and climbed up the walls. The humans were focusing more on its bigger siblings as they tried the basic attacks.
It then saw the two children, the weakest of the humans and felt drawn to them, particularly the boy sensing that the boy would be more useful besides the usual need to feed as it felt. The larger blond female human went away from the kids and fired with her rifle to aid her teammates. Using a web line the spider slinked down at the kids. Just as a loud explosion made the girl jump and the boy went to her, holding her hand to make sure that she didn't run off from their protectors. Stealthily the spider landed on the back of the boy's hand and once it found a good spot, it sunk its fangs in.
Peter yelped as a spider bit him… the moment that he did, the boy flung his arm which sent the spider flying.
Party Girl, hearing the cry, turned to the kid, and asked, checking him over, "Peter, honey, ya alright there?"
"I'm okay." Peter said as he held his hand close.
Not taking a chance, she called over, "Hey Harley, mind checking on the lil darling fer me?"
Harley came and examined the boy's hand.
He then looked at the wound, with all the spiders that they had possibly missed, the medic needed to make sure that the boy didn't get infected with the T-Virus, "Nothing bad, just a little spider bite. It doesn't look like it was an infected creature."
Dee-Ay sighed in relief, "Let's get him out of here."
Then spoke into his radio, "Sir, we found Peter Parker. He's also been checked out to not be infected with Sherry Birkin."
"Understood. Proceed with your mission to evac him to a rendezvous point at the RC warehouse district. He'll be airlifted out where we can make sure he makes it to any surviving relatives." The Echo Six members heard their superior said, while their leader spoke, "Understood."
Peter wasn't sure who they were, but they knew his father, "You know who I am?"
At this the soldiers remained silent before he said, "It's not a safe place to talk here, we'll talk when we get to the evac point."
They proceeded to lead the way through the sewers dealing with zombies along the way. They findally made it to a section of sewers were it was empty.
Just then the wall broke and a human-ish monster came barreling in, the eye on it's right shoulder focusing on the kids. Peter recognized the eye immediately as the monster from before.
Dee-Ay fired his machine gun at the monster, it only flinched when the bullet hit the monster's shoulder eye. The moment that the face hit the light, Peter saw what – or who the monster was. It was William Birkin, Sherry's father. So much in shock that Peter asked, "Mr. Birkin?"
The sound of a door opening caught the boy's attention as another lady, with brunette hair, close to being seeing as red, came in. She had a hot pink vest, short jean pants, boots, and a knife holster on her vest. The moment she saw the situation she called, "I found an exit! Hurry!"
Sherry went to her crying out, "Claire!"
"He's coming this way!" Claire urged. Dee-Ay turned to Claire and said, "Get the kids out of here. We'll cover your escape!"
"Thank you." Claire said back pulling Sherry cried out, "Please don't hurt my daddy!"
"Daddy?!" Dee-Ay repeated, firing at the creature, providing covering fire while Harley tried to pass the boy to Claire. Unfortunately, the soldier's gunfire hit a couple of barrels which resulted in an explosion that shook their area, stunning the mutated scientist but also caused damage to the surrounding walls and ceiling. The cracks became focused in the doorway making it collapsed. Seeing this Harley pulled himself and the boy from danger. Reaching Peter shouted, "Sherry!"
"Peter!" Sherry cried out reaching for her best friend, only some debris from the explosion blocked the door before they could give the boy over to Claire to keep an eye on for them. The last clear thing that Peter saw before falling unconscious was Sherry reaching out towards him and the debris falling down.
Groaning Peter woke up and found himself in a room. He found himself bandaged up. The boy didn't remember what had happened, or how he had gotten there…
The door to his room opened and one of the soldiers, the blond-haired woman came over as she said, "Hey there, darlin'. How you feeling after that nasty fall ya took?"
"I think I'm okay…" Peter said then asked, feeling a pain in his head, "What happened?"
"While we were tryin' to get ya to Claire before fighting Birkin, some of the ceiling fell on ya." Party Girl explained, "You were lucky you only had a small bruise on that pretty lil' head of yers."
Peter gasped, remembering what happened, before he turned and asked, "What about Sherry is she-!?"
The boy stopped himself from finishing that sentence while Party Girl lowered her head, "Ah'm sorry sugar, but ah plum don't know…"
Peter sniffled at how he lost Sherry after spending so much time trying to find her… It wasn't long before he felt a pair of arms around him and being pulled into a hug. Looking up he saw the woman with the southern accent comforting him with a hug, "Ah'm sorry… Ah know how much ya wanted to help yer friend. But ya can't give up. 'specially when the bad people who caused this are gonna try and cover it up."
She then knelt down to look at the boy in the eyes and asked, "Ya think ya can keep going an' stickin' it ta dem bastards by not givin' up?"
Sniffling, Peter looked at the woman before him, whipped his eyes and nodded. The woman smiled, then unexpectedly kissed his forehead, "That's de spirit."
She then smiled and said, "And Ah know someone wants to talk to ya."
Party Girl stood up and lead Peter to where the others of her squad were while Willow got Dee-Ay's attention and spoke aloud, "Sir, Dr. Parker's son is awake. We'll be contacting Dr. Parker and then proceed to the evac-point."
He then pulled out a radio and handed it to Peter to accept which he spoke into it, "Hello?"
"Peter! Oh, thank God they found you." The voice on the other end was unforgettable, sounding relieved.
"Dad?" Peter asked, surprised to hear his father on the other end of the radio.
"That's right son." Dr. Richard Parker said from the other end, "I've been so worried… I'm so sorry! I'm just relieved you're alive and safe."
"Where are you?! Where's Mom? Are you guys coming?" Peter almost shouted, all the bottled up emotions that he had put down all this time were bubbling now as he spoke to his father.
"I'm sorry Peter- we can't just yet…" Dr. Parker said his voice was shaky and sounded like he was holding back something…
"Why? Why can't you!? Is your work more important that you'd leave me out there when the city's going to hell?! It's because of Umbrella that all this happened! Were you and mom a part of it!?" Peter shouted into the radio, Party Girl wanted to go to him, but was stopped by Dee-Ay, watching this exchange.
"You have no idea what I've been through - The shit I've seen! Trying to find you guys and Sherry! But now… she's…" Peter stopped his rant, the last image of his friend fresh on his mind. Before he pulled himself back together again, "…Why can't you and mom come with me so we can get out of here? Especially when Umbrella sent soldiers after me."
"We… we need to get the soldiers who saved you the evidence they need to bring Umbrella down." Dr. Parker told his son, making him stop. The boy then heard his father say, "We didn't know what Umbrella was doing until it was too late… Peter if I or your mother knew about any of it before this happened we'd try and stop it… that's why William and I called the government."
"Dad… I saw Mr. Birkin… He became a monster, an eye on his shoulder and claws for a hand…" Peter told him. "Oh, dear God… William, what did you do?"
"Is Capt. Jettingham there? Dee-Ay?" His father asked. Pulling the radio from his ear, he handed it to Dee-Ay and said, "He wants to talk to you."
The leader of the squad accepted it and spoke to the senior Parker.
Peter, however, didn't stick around. He went and sat down against the wall, hugging his knees to himself.
"Something wrong, kid?"
Peter looked up and saw the Native-American woman, Willow, standing before him.
Looking away, Peter asked, "Why is he still there at Umbrella when he could've come to find me and Sherry?"
"Maybe he thought he wanted to make things right because of how Umbrella made it wrong." Willow suggested. Unfortunately, that didn't make Peter feel any better.
"I might not know what's going on between you and your father, Peter, but I do know that you can't stay mad at him forever. Or you'll regret it. Especially in a situation like this." Willow told the boy.
Peter remained where he was before getting up and approached Dee-Ay and asked, "Can I talk to him?"
Dee-Ay stared at the kid and said, "Dr. Parker, your son wants to talk to you."
Dee-Ay then handed the radio back to Peter as the boy heard his father say, "Peter, listen to me, son. Capt. Jettingham and his team are going to get to someone who'll take you out of the city and where Uncle Ben and Aunt May are. You remember them, right?"
"Yeah." Peter said, remembering his aunt and uncle greatly, then asked, "Dad… you and Mom, you'll come home after you get that evidence to them, right?"
"Your aunt and uncle will take care of you until your mother and I join you." Peter heard his dad say, before he hastily added, "I need to go. Talk to you as soon as possible."
"Dad?" Peter asked, before hearing static, "Dad?"
The kid couldn't help but feel his arms weak while Dee-Ay looked at the boy, concerned while carefully taking the radio from the boy.
Dee-Ay then addressed the team, "Echo Six, listen up! We have the location to evac. It's at the train yard of the city, the only clear spot and hopefully less infected patrolled area of the city."
"What? That's halfway across the city." Tweed complained.
Looking at the red-head, Dee-Ay said, "Got no choice. It's the only suspected clear zone that Umbrella won't be able to shoot down or get in our way."
He then told them, "Make sure you got as much ammo as possible and all the supplies you can carry. We're gonna be working our asses off to make sure the kid makes it if we're gonna have any hope of bringing Umbrella down for this. Obviously, Umbrella will try and get in our way, sending their Security Services, so make sure you take them down before they can take the kid."
Dee-Ay approached the kid and asked, "Peter, I know that you probably have a lot to think about right now. But it's important you stay close to us as we escort you to evac. Understand?"
Peter answered by nodding.
Once they made it to the entrance that was clear, Echo Six with Peter in the center of them all hurried through streets of Raccoon City, taking out any zombie, monster, or even U.S.S. soldier that came in their way. Peter kept his down as he followed the soldiers but after a long trek, hour, or hours at most they made it to the Train Yard.
Dee-Ay took cover as he ordered his team, "Hold your positions! The chopper can't land unless we make sure the area's secured."
Everyone took cover and fired on any approaching enemy, human or not, that had made their way at them. For the zombies it was clear that they get headshots, while the monsters and Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.) they get gunshots in general vitals. Peter kept himself down and his hands to the ears as he tried to block out the gunshots being fired around him, the moaning, the growling, and shouting.
After minutes of the continuous firing and fighting, the sounds stopped. Carefully Peter looked out and saw as many of the bodies around them. Harley treating some of his teammates. Dee-Ay, after making sure everyone was safe, then radioed, "Command; the area's secured! Tell the pilot to come down on our location for extraction!"
Soon the Helicopter came and landed. One of the soldiers onboard ordered, "Clear! Pass the kid!"
Peter was handed off to soldiers on a helicopter. Willow then said to the boy, "These men are gonna take care of you here on out. Until they can contact your relatives."
"Aren't you coming?" Peter asked, looking at them.
Dee-Ay shook his head, "We still have our mission to get concrete evidence against the people responsible from your father, but don't worry we're not gonna go down without a fight."
"Take care of yerself, Luv." Tweed said to the kid.
"Bye, sugar." Party girl winked.
"Later kiddo." Harley waved.
Shona nodded, "Be well, young man."
"Hope things get better for you."
The helicopter rose to the air as Peter looked back at the team of soldiers that risked their lives to save him as they walked back in the direction, they all came from.
That was the last he saw of them or his parents…
(How was that? Bone-chilling? Blood curdling? Freaky?
Well unfortunately this was what this version of Peter had to go through in his childhood. And yes, the spider that bit him will be having a large role for Peter later on. I think any of your Spider-fans can guess how in his future. About the other characters that appeared in this chapter from Operation: Raccoon City remembered how Raccoon City had a lot going and yes the focus of those events were usually Claire, Leon, Sherry, or Ada from RE2 or Jill and Carlos from RE3. But that's not the full story is it?
So I thought having the U.S.S.' Delta team "Wolf Pack" showing up for their missions and the Government's Special ops' "Echo Six" show up would help put drive into the survival of Peter and also make sure he got out before the Missile launch that would destroy Raccoon City in the game's timeline of Oct 1.
If you guys don't think so, then I apologize. This is my first time doing something like this, so I'm not used to it. I'll work on that with future chapters.
So, until then, wait till the next chapter and time True Believers.)
