It was a very beautiful morning, Kevin noticed, a rare sight in Peach Creek.

A smile lit his face brightly, he felt like today was going to be a good day. He happily skipped to his high school, 'Wow…I actually feel relaxed!' He thought.

Once he saw the school in his sight, he pushed up his nerdy glasses, 'Today is the day!' Kevin told himself with confidence.

He would tell Nazz that he was in love with her. Yes, the night before Kevin was sweating and he was in his bed not even remotely near her, but he finally got the courage to tell her this day.

Kevin did feel worried if this might affect their friendship, if she doesn't agree with his feelings about her. He just hopes it turns into something good.

He takes a deep breath, and lets it out before he opens the giant doors into his high school.

As he walked through the hallway crowded with students, he noticed that even freshmen were taller than him, curse his genetics!

'Is her type tall?' He wonders in his mind. They were about the same height, with just Kevin being slightly taller than her.

Being able to get to his locker, while pushing through teens in his way, he opens it and gets his letter ready.

It was just a poem, kinda. And if anybody steals it, they wouldn't know who it was for, they would know who would write it, since Kevin signed it, but wouldn't know it was for Nazz.

He didn't want Nazz to be involved with his bullies, so to keep her safe, he only wrote down how he feels about this person.

He tried to make it fancy, it was just an envelope with a heart sticker in the middle, classic.

Students walked on by, and Kevin hid it by bringing it close to his chest, eyeing the students as they walked.

He would wait until the bell rang, his first period is Science but Mr. Gus knows that Kevin helps out in the library in the morning. A disappointing sigh was let out by Kevin himself, he would have to lie to a teacher today. He isn't going to be proud but it has to be done.

"Oy, Kev-Boy!" A familiar voice shouted and Kevin immediately shoved the love letter in his pocket.

Kevin turns around, "Oh hey Rolf." He said, trying to seem calm even though he just freaked out. He hoped that Rolf didn't see the envelope, heck, he didn't tell Rolf about his crush on Nazz!

Rolf moved a piece of blue hair out of his eyes before asking, "Did the Kevboy hear what's happening after school today?"

Kevin shook his head, "No. What?" He was now curious.

"Why, it's a water meet! The one before divisionals! The entire school will see if the fish team is worthy to go to finals!" Exclaims Rolf with a huge smile.

This immediately lost his interest, Kevin wasn't a big fan of sports, so this completely dropped his face to a bored expression.

"That's…Nice Rolf." He said anyway.

His blue-haired friend puts a hand on his shoulder, "Rolf knows that Kevboy is weak in the strength of sports, but Rolf wants Kevboy to come with him."

For some odd reason, Kevin felt bad. He realized that he always discouraged Rolf whenever he played dodgeball or soccer, or whatever he played! This just made his heart feel guilty.

"I'll think about it..I just got to do something important today." He admits, and then remembers that he's going to confess to Nazz today. His ADHD does that to him, always happens during assignment. Just always distracting himself.

"Really? What is the important thing to do today?" Rolf raises his eyebrow.

Kevin stumbled over words, "Uhm..w-well..I..Just something very important! I'll tell you later."

Rolf shrugs and nods his head, "Welp, later alligator!"

Kevin waves, "See you.." He nervously chuckles, after Rolf was gone he let out a long sigh.

Kevin turned back to his locker and got all of his books that he required for today, including the love letter, pencils, etc. And waited patiently for the bell to ring.

While he was waiting, he just felt bad about Rolf, he was his best friend along with Nazz since elementary school. He should've told him, but he didn't want Rolf to give it away, unless Kevin already has. They know that Rolf can't keep a simple secret-

RIINGGGGGGG

Kevin jumped. All the students were now rushing to their classes, not wanting to be late, while Kevin stayed behind.

He couldn't lie to say that his heart was feeling overjoyed, excited, overwhelmed, and nervous.

He had never had to confess to a girl before, because he never liked a girl besides Nazz up to this point. Also because half the girls would tell him no if he asked to be their boyfriend.

So this was quite a challenge.

Once all of the students had gone to class, Kevin was on the move. He searched for her locker number..456…457…ah! 458!

He slid the letter in, with his heart slightly thumping faster than before. He just hoped it would flatter her in hopes of her saying yes to him.

Now, it was time to go to class, but Kevin knew he wouldn't be able to pay attention.

He got his tardy slip and gave it to Mr. Gus, his smile makes Kevin smile, but he was still disappointed in himself for such a lie.

Finally Kevin got in his seat, in the way back where nobody sat. He put his elbow on the desk and his hand on his chin, thinking about Nazz.

A blush appeared across his face as he daydreamer about him and Nazz, dating. Being together, getting married, how he wishes his dream would come true!

This has been going on for at least two years now, he always liked Nazz, he just didn't realize it at the time.

And..maybe she likes him back.

But Kevin realized that everybody likes Nazz. He couldn't blame them, she was a real beauty, nice, and sweet, and all of the above!

Kevin knew he was really passionate about her, he always has been and she knows it. So if Nazz was to choose between a guy and Kevin, he is definitely sure she would choose him.

For four periods, Kevin has been fidgeting in his seat with nervousness.

Has Nazz already gone to her locker? What does she think of it? How will she react? Does she hate him? Love him? What does she think of him?!

These thoughts and questions ran through his mind like a tornado. He's just so worried.

And, fourth period is almost over..which means lunch, which means every student is let out! Even Nazz!

Kevin felt like throwing up, he has never been this nervous before.

R I N G

"Alright class that is all, tomorrow we will pick up where we left off." Mrs. Jones put her hands together, while she watched her students sit up and leave.

Except..for…Kevin..

He was still like he was frozen.

"Uh? Kevin, dear, the bell rang, it's time for lunch now." Her eyebrows were raised as Kevin just nodded his head and quickly left the room.

"What a strange kid.." She muttered under her breath.

Meanwhile, Kevin was sweating, he knew now that Nazz had gone to her locker and had definitely seen the note. She would definitely have questions about it, and he would have to answer it.

Step by step, he made his way to the cafeteria, his chest tightening, and palms sweaty.

He peaked to his left and right once he stepped foot in the cafeteria, but Nazz wasn't there?

It could be that she is outside, and with taking another deep breath in and out, he headed outside.

He searched for about four minutes before seeing her blonde hair..and pretty face..

"H-hey Nazz.." He walked over to her, slowly.

With his heart slightly picking up, 'Don't get so nervous. Even if she rejects me she is still a friend.' He reminds himself.

"Oh, sup dude!" She beamed, and put down her book, seeming to be in a good mood.

Kevin raised an eyebrow.

Kevin nervously rubbed his neck, and slowly sat down by her, "Uh..did you perhaps go to your locker before you came out here?" He slowly asked. He seems to be taking this very slow today.

"Yep!" She said, rosy cheeks and all.

Kevin couldn't believe his eyes, 'So, does she like it? Or just trying not to hurt my feelings?' He wondered.

"D-do you like it?" He gulped.

She then looks confused, "Do I like what?"

"Uh…The letter?"

Nazz raised her eyebrow, "What letter? I didn't get a letter." She says.

All of the nervousness Kevin felt was washed away with confusion. "Wait..hold on..isn't your locker number 458?"

Nazz shakes her head, "Nope it's 478. Why?"

Uh oh. UH..OH…UH OH!!!

KEVIN PUT HIS LOVE LETTER IN THE WRONG LOCKER!!!

"Oh! Uh! NO REASON!" He starts to panic, he laughs to cover it up, sweat pouring down.

"Kev..are you okay? Your face is starting to get red, do you have a fever?" She gasps and puts her smooth hand on his forehead, moving his cap upwards.

His heart…was thumping so loud Kevin could hear it in his ears. His eyes widened as Nazz moved in closer.

"UHM.."

She puts her hand off of his forehead. "Kevin! You shouldn't come to school if you are sick!" She scolds him, crossing her arms.

"W-what?! No, no, no! I'm not sick! I-its just…I-"

Suddenly a shadow came over both of them.

Kevin felt his heart skip a beat.

Eddward Rockwell stood in front of them, his whole body looked tense. He was crossing his arms, with an angry expression and in his hand he grips a familiar envelope with a heart-

. . .

HE ACCIDENTALLY PUTS HIS LOVE LETTER IN EDDWARD ROCKWELLS LOCKER?!

His life is over! Eddward looks like he's about to beat the crap out of Kevin! What has he done?!

Especially since it's Eddward Rockwell! If Kevin accidentally put his love letter in another person's locker, it would've been much better than this!

"Oh..Uh…Hey Eddward..Is there something you need?" Nazz asks, confused, maybe a little sweat pouring down her face as well.

"Yes. Him." He immediately points to Kevin. Kevin flinches as his soul leaves his body.

Her face widened up with even more confusion,"Kevin? Why do you need Kevin?"

"None of your business." He growls at her.

Just after a few seconds, Eddward suddenly grabs Kevin's arm. "Come on, I need to talk to you for a little bit." He yanks Kevin forward, with him yelping.

He starts to drag Kevin, the redhead took a glance behind him, Nazz was watching them walk away.

Kevin wanted to literally dig a hole and never come out of it. He's so stupid! How could he make a mistake like this? Eddward is probably disgusted by Kevin's lack of remembering locker numbers!

Soon after, Eddward brought him behind a tree, and let go.

His face looked so serious, it made Kevin gulp.

"L-listen a-about the letter, I-I can explain!.." His heart was beating so fast it might burst through his chest.

Eddwards took a step closer and opened his mouth to speak, Kevin found it best if he closed his eyes.

"I had no idea you felt this way about me."

"Huh?" He peaked his right eye out. What he saw was unexpected.

Eddward..looked like he was actually blushing? And such a soft expression..Kevin didn't know Eddward could make that face.

"It was honestly quite flattering." He admits, as he takes another step towards Kevin.

Kevin's heart couldn't comprehend what was about to happen, it was beating like crazy, his mind was running through everything so fast!

"I have a proposal for you." Eddward says.

"W-what kind of proposal?" Kevin dared to ask.

A sudden smirk lit the raven's face. "If you watch my swim meet after school today and my team makes it to divisionals..I'll consider going out with you, like a date."

Kevin's face dropped, 'Oh no…Eddward thinks I actually have a crush on him..' He needed to tell him the truth before this gets way out of hand.

"W-wait..I'm not-"

"D what's the big deal? Why did you ditch...us…" Jimmy's face slowly turns upside down as he sees his friend with an outcast.

Jimmy grimaces, "What is going on here?"

"Little red here gave me a love letter." Eddward chuckles and shows Jimmy the envelope.

Kevin felt his eyes pop out of their sockets, "Ah! No I didn't!!" He tries to get his love letter that was for NAZZ..but fails since Eddward raised it up too high and Kevin is too short to reach it.

Jimmy had a look of mixed emotions on his face. "Wow Kevin, I didn't know you had feelings for Eddward." He either teased or was actually quite shocked by the LIE cause Kevin DOES NOT like Eddward!

"I-I don't!" Kevin tries to explain but Eddward opens the envelope very delicately and reads it out loud for Jimmy to hear.

Eddward clears his throat, "You have the most dazzling eyes I have ever seen. Whenever I look at your eyes I feel myself drowning in an ocean of beauty." He quoted from the letter.

Kevin felt like he wanted to die.

Nazz also has blue eyes! But Kevin realized that does sound like it could be for Eddward, about the ocean, and Eddward does swimming?

Jimmy and Eddward laugh, as Kevin cheeks build up with red. He felt embarrassed like it actually was for Eddward. Which WAS NOT!!

RINNG!

'The lunch bell! Thank goodness!' The redhead felt relieved as the bell saved him. He didn't get to eat any of his lunch..but he usually didn't even eat anyways.

"W-well if you will excuse me!" Kevin ran past both of the tall boys. Eddward hollered at him, "REMEMBER, AFTER SCHOOL!!"

Kevin ran into the building but then stopped, he wasn't a good runner but he had thoughts in his head, crazy…just crazy!

How could this happen! He wasn't gay, he liked girls! Kevin knew one way or another he just had to tell Eddward and Nazz the truth about this entire-

Thing?

Kevin peeked his head around a corner, he saw Nazz…and Marie?

Uh oh.

Kevin knew that Marie also liked Nazz!

"You're so funny Marie!" She exclaimed, the sweetest smile ever on her face.

He heard Nazz laughing and Marie's face blushed a red as Nazz talked to her.

Something about Kevin's heart..dropped..

Did..Marie tell Nazz before he did? Kevin also knew that Nazz was bisexual but they didn't mean she couldn't be with Kevin. And..Kevin wanted to be with Nazz, maybe she didn't want to be with him..

Then everything turns around…for quite some time Kevin despises Marie for her crush on Nazz, because he does too. He was always there for Nazz, Marie was never there for her, so why should she be with Nazz instead?!

Jealousy and hatred burned in Kevin.

Marie and him never got along, they actually fought a lot once they were partners, but that was because she wasn't being logical! Also, because he was mad at her for liking Nazz.

So, Kevin marched the other way, with anger, hatred, and jealousy.

Girls aren't supposed to like girls! And boys aren't supposed to like boys.

At least that what his father always told him, his dad told him it was unusual for boys to date boys. And, that was after Kevin told his father that he thought a boy was cute in his class..in fourth grade. But, it was just a phase! His father told him that as well...

Whatever! Now Kevin was in a bad mood. He didn't even get to confess to Nazz..well at least not yet anyways, he'll have to tell her later.

He entered his classroom, journalism. He got his notebook and chromebook, even if he had no clue what he was doing for classwork, it was always a roll of the dice.

He took his seat on the way back, just like every class and let out a frustrated sigh. Of course he's being forced to go to a swim meet after school, for just a stupid mistake.

How his day changed very quickly.

Kevin dragged his feet to the swimming pool arena, his shoulders shrugged with an annoyed face. He didn't even have to go, so why did he? Maybe he was just being nice.

Why would Eddward even suspect that Kevin liked him? They hardly ever interacted, never even been by him, not since middle school.

During middle school Eddward was just a huge bully to Kevin, always tripping him in the halls, and embarrassing him in class. But once they graduated to high school they just grew more mature, well Kevin has.

He sees how Eddward reacts with others, he is widely terrifying, and a bully as well. He never picks on Kevin because he has standards.

Eddward is also a genius, a charmer, popular, and is named the school shark. It's also known that he has power, just in the school and the students for some reason, like everybody fears Eddward. Kevin wonders why..

He could already hear cheers and shouts just from all the way down the hallway. 'How many people are here exactly?' Kevin wonders, he's not great with crowds.

Before he went inside, he took a deep breath in and out, 'Just watch him swim, you don't have to go on a date with him, if you have to, tell him the truth.' He thought to himself.

One foot in and he already heard a disgusted groan.

"Who invited Mr. Ugly sweater?" Dahl laughed as he pretended to gag. Girls and boys around Dahl laughed at Kevin. Dahl had brown hair and a birthmark right on his nose, he was more different from the rest of the kids.

Being mean and is bad at half of his classes, the only class he isn't failing is P.E.

Dahl's girlfriend, a blond cheerleader, Rebacca scoffed. "Don't pay attention to him babe, he only wishes to have attention." She said as she grabbed Dahl's arm and hugged it.

She obviously wants more attention, that's fine, Kevin doesn't like attention anyways.

The redhead just rolled his eyes and was now trying to find a seat anywhere.

Kevin gripped his bags straps, he was actually starting to feel nervous. Again, he didn't do well with crowds.

Kevin searched and searched, and just decided to stay by the doors. It was better than sitting with kids who didn't like him, or bullied him.

It took a while until the swim meet actually started. Then suddenly an announcer shouted in the microphone, "WELCOME TO PEACH CREEKS SWIM MEET!!"

Kevin immediately covered his ears. Ringing started to be a problem, along with a headache starting to come on, 'Ugh! This is the worst!' He thought as he furrowed his eyebrows.

Maybe Eddward did know that Kevin didn't like him, and just told him to go to humiliate him, and maybe kill him..With Eddward who knows?

Once the announcer stopped hurting Kevin's ear drums, the swimmers walked out, including Eddward.

It seems odd how he knew exactly where to find Kevin, maybe the redhead was easy to find, there weren't as many redheads in their school, because Eddward looked dead at Kevin. It almost freaked him out. He felt his heart skip a beat.

He gulped and looked down as he waited for whatever was coming next.

There were three rounds that passed by, for the girls. These were girls that were swimming, racing against to go to state or something. Peach Creek girls won…That doesn't mean that the boys will win!

Kevin gave out a hopeless sigh, 'What am I thinking? Of course the boys are going to win, they have Eddward…what am I going to do?'

A million thoughts and possible strategies went through his head, but would they work? Maybe, he could get Eddward back and humiliate him!

He could go to school and announce that Eddward liked Kevin instead, and Kevin would get his revenge and be home free.

No, that wouldnt work, Kevin realized that Eddward still has the love letter. So it would look like Kevin liked Eddward, even when he doesn't.

Kevin gave out a frustrated sigh, 'this is going to be harder than I thought.'

Sounds and words echoed to the backdoor, Kevin couldn't quite understand what the guy with a whistle was saying, but at least he could see the swimmers and pool.

Suddenly all of the swimmers crouched down, seeming to go lower to the water. A couple of seconds later and a whistle was blow, and the swimmers were in their way under water.

Some swimmers were already getting their heads up out of the water, but Eddward didn't. He stayed under the water for a longer period of time.

'I wonder..how does he have enough air to hold it for that long?' Kevin questions, it might be because Eddward has done this for so long that he has gotten used to holding his breath.

The crowds grew louder, especially the Peach Creek students. Kevin felt his ears start to bleed once more.

However, for some reason, he hope Eddward would win. It was pretty crazy, but it would be cool if Peach Creek went to state. Kevin didn't know if they went last year, or the year before that, he doesn't pay attention.

He edged a little closer, and more, step by step, going closer to the pool.

He was still far away, but at this angle he could see all of it.

Dark bodies underneath the water, with one body going so fast, that he even looked like a real shark.

Eddward had touched the wall first.

Peach Creek students erupted into a loud cheer. The other swimmers caught up by seconds later.

Kevin was quite impressed. Swimming was a hard sport, at least for Kevin, he didn't even know how to swim. He couldn't play baseball, dogeball, and especially backsetball.

Heck, even other nerds were better at sports than him! It seemed like everyone was better than Kevin…

Once everything has cooled down, all the swimmers boys and girls were all waiting by a large poster board or something.

A guy who stood on a ladder started to put team names down on the large board.

Bulldogs…Broncs..Sunsets..and Peach Creek.

The swimmers hugged each other, all of the students went to congratulate the swimmers. And Kevin stood at the corner with his mouth opened and gulped.

Of course this was a very good and happy thing, but what about Eddward!

Kevin realized what he had to do, he had to run.

You would've think being closer to the door means you get out I'd there sooner, but no, disappointed people with their swimmers were there first. Making it impossible for Kevin to escape.

Out of nowhere, a hand gripped his shoulder. A fear that it was Eddward forced him to turn around, instead he saw Jimmy.

A confused look hit Kevina face as he looked up at the curly blond.

"Where ya going Kevin? Aren't you going to congratulate Eddward?" He smirked down at Kevin.

Kevin let out a nervous chuckle, "W-well, y-you see I-I uh, I have to get going…" He says stupidly.

"Come on Kevin, I bet Eddqard would be really disappointed if you didn't show up." Sarah came into his view and had a bratty tone of voice, mocking him probably.

Jimmy probably told Sarah all about Kevin, even if it wasn't true. And Kevin heard all about Sarah, a spolied brat, a snob, and a seducer. Rumors went around that Sarah seduced a teacher into giving her a A on her assignment. Just the thought of that makes Kevin disgusted.

The redhead didn't say anything, he just wanted to go home.

Jimmy grabbed his arm, "Come on." He and Sarah dragged Kevin to a crowds of Peach Creek swimmers and students.

"Hey Double D, looks like someone wants to congratulate you." Jimmy lies. Kevin didn't say he wanted to!

"Oh, really?" Eddward raised an eyebrow.

Jimmy pushed Kevin towards Eddward, then a smirk came on his face, like he was expecting this.

"Uhm..You did such..an amazing job today." Kevin lied straight through his braces. "However, I cannot stay. I have to go home now, so of you will excuse me-"

"Stop." Eddward rudely grabbed onto Kevin's skinny arm. The redhead looked up at the raven, Eddward was kinda scary…

The widened smirk appeared again, "There is a party tonight, to celebrate us for going to divionals. I want you there." Eddward informed him and let go.

Kevin widened his eyes, "What? You didn't say anything about a party!"

Eddward crossed his arms across his bare chest…and abs..uh oh..

"Because, I didn't know." He simply said with a serious look on his face.

Kevin didn't want to go to a party! He just wanted to go home..

Then Jimmy came into Kevin's eyesight again, "He said you're going, so you're going whether you want to rags." His harsh tone made Kevin want to just run away at this moment.

"Well? Are you going to go or not?" Eddward raised a eyebrow, and looked like he was beginning to get impatient.

Kevin sighed, being forced to go to a party was better than getting jumped by these guys. So, he nodded.

"Spendid! The party starts at 8:00 P.M. at Jordan's house, you know where he lives, right?"

Kevin nodded his head again but his eyes focused on the floor.

Soon the swimmers who hadn't changed yet were heading back into the locker room, again, including Eddward.

As he passed Kevin, his mouth went to his ear, and he whispered, "After the party, the next day, meet me at the Cafe down the street of Aurther, 9 A.M. sharp." Eddward backed away, and Kevin felt like a prisoner, he nodded again.

Then Eddward disappeared into the locker room. Kevin ran out of the swimming pool area.

He ran down out of The building, past the parking lot, past the street, all the way to his house.

And Kevin was not a runner so for him this was incredibly impressive. He managed to make it safely to his house.

Unlocking the door and immediately shutting it. He gasped and panted as his back hit the door. He was out of breath and his legs were shaking. He stunk down, lower and closer to the ground until he sat on his carpet floor.

It was freshman year all over again!!
